International Stock ROM on unlocked Sprint Note 4? - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I have an unlocked Sprint Note 4 (SM-N910P), I wanted to ask if I can Flash international stock ROM on my phone?
I'm asking because I am missing mobile data button from notification panel, also hotspot and 4g/ LTE is still locked.
Thanks

Download the ROM from sammobile.com and flash via ODIN(Make sure it is carrier free ie has no network provider name)
and then download multiwindow toggle from the Google Play Store to get back the mobile data notification button

I tired the multiwindow app but that didn't work but while searching for this app I stumble on another app called QuickPanel Manager, which is a paid app. I got the free version from a different App Market, used that and now I have the mobile data button, hotspot and flash light button in my quick panel.
However, when I click on hotspot the setting page comes up blank..

I don't think you want to try to flash stock Odin roms from another device. That might have bad results!
But you can flash about any custom Rom in twrp. All you need to get them to work on this device is a n910p kernel and a data fix.
You won't get lte only 4g H+ while using unlocked.

I don't wanna Flash any Custom Rom for now as this is my daily driver and have already messed up this phone a lot by flashing different custom Roms .
Now, I am on stock firmware which is fine for now.. Will flash a an update Touchwiz based Rom which also updates the firmware to Nougat.

How did you unlock your SIM card? I can't find anything for unlocking a Sprint Note 4. Everything is for AT&T.

Well, I bought this phone unlocked. So, I didn't unlock it. However, if you can communicate with Sprint and have them unlock your phone if your contract is over with them.
You can communicate with them on FB messenger, they reply very fast

Afaik you dont need to have your contract end with them to request an unlock..I requested an unlock this summer (2017) and still have service with them but the phone is unlocked. I'll probably get an international version anyway cause thats the only way to get LTE abroad

He will NOT loose Tmobile wifi because he never had it, if he has an AT&T unlocked phone and
odin flashes any tmobile rom there will be no wifi calling because AT&T network itself does not offer it.
The only way he will have Wifi calling would be if he switched from the AT&T network to Tmobile network.
No one will have wifi calling regardless which rom they flash unless they have a tmobile sim card.
hope this clears things up a bit.

Nope, it won't lock or re-lock your phone, once a phone is unlocked properly it will stay that way
regardless which rom you flash and regardless if you're on the AT&T network or Tmobile network.
Do not Odin flash the AT&T stock firmware on a Tmobile phone even if it's unlocked.
If you do you will not be able to make or receive any phone calls.
You can flash AT&T or Tmobile CWM/TWRP flashable stock or custom zip file roms because
those do not contain the radio/modem images like the Odin flash firmware do.
If you odin flash back to stock Tmobile firmware you will loose root unless you re-root after flashing.
As far as bootloaders go, a Tmobile phone requires a Tmobile bootloader, but you don't need to worry
about that if you flash the stock official tmobile firmware with Odin.
All the other tmobile and at&t cwm/twrp flashable zip file roms found in these threads don't contain
any bootloaders that's why they can be flashed on any unlocked and rooted tmobile or at&t phones.

Exactly, the hardware is only a little different that's why we can use the cwm/twrp flashable zipfile custom
tmobile/at&t roms with either the tmobile locked or unlocked phones or the unlocked at&t phones.
The only exception is that wifi calling only works on an actual tmobile phone with a tmobile
sim card which is on the tmobile network whether it's locked or unlocked.

Don't think it matters if WiFi calling isn't enabled.
I thought the hardware between the AT&T s4 and the T Mobile s4 was the same. I thought the reason they received different radio frequencies was in the firmware and not the hardware can anyone confirm ..

I would love the answer to this question too.
The key is the Modem aka Baseband. This is the Radio file and it is hardware and carrier dependent. If you try to flash this you will mess up the bootloader and radio and you have a brick.
I'm too on AT&T network with T-Mobile phone. I'm using the stock MDL radio and it's working fine. I don't notice a difference between the 2 devices on LTE network. if T-Mobile can't lock on to LTE network, AT&T S4 won't either.
sorry to slightly threadjack.... but does that mean if i flash a custom s4 AT&T rom (i.e. "CleanRom"), i will still be going through a Tmobile bootloader \ kernal etc..?
Is there any foolproof way to "convert" an tmobile s4 to an ATT based s4?
Can't you guys just flash a popular custom rom for sgh-i337 variant and then change the radioband (or whatever it's called) sh*t manually? If you ever flash another carrier rom, make sure ur baseband is the original carrier/phone as stated before. And flash ur carrier/phone kernel(custom or stock, doesn't matter) as well.
I believe these ppl created this topic because they want the stock carrier branded firmware on their phone, so that they can have all the carrier specific features on their phone. Third party ROM is not their choice, otherwise there are tones post out there already. I believe someone must be brave enough to flash it to their phone to test that, otherwise, there is no good answer to that.

Hi guys, anyone can tell me if this will work:
I have TMO M991 and I want to use it in Europe but have problem with network signal (not registered on network; missed calls & s... like that).
My guess is that radio is different and optimized for LTE, which we dont have here...
I m thinking of flashing I9505 stock rom and baseband...what do You think, will this improve radio reception/stable network signal?
I9505 is the version used in Europe region...
I honestly tried to find similar topics, no luck so far so pls point me in the right direction if nothing else...
Cheers!

[Q] AT&T to T-MOBILE FLash ROM

Hi everyone,
Is there a way to flash the AT&T or any other Stock ROM to a T-mobile phone ?.

You mean inderictly is it posible? (dont know how is inderectly ).
Yes, but it requires a seasoned developer to make the modifications necessary. I'm not sure why you'd want to do this though as the AT&T version is far more bloated.

Thanks for your reply.
I absolutely have no that kind of skill.
Anyway, the real reason I came up with that idea is because I cant unlock my T-mobile phone, and I live outside the US.
I've heard and read that sim unlocks by code are having problems.
Unfortunately, flashing firmware will not aid you in unlocking. Have you already tried buying a code for your device?

ROM = Firmware. They're interchangeable terms. Also MetroPCS is owned by T-Mobile, so I don't see your point. Flashing software does not unlock the SIM card slot.

Your phone was unlocked by code. It is permanent. It is not rom dependant. Just like you flashed a different rom than the metro pcs when you originally unlocked your phone, you can upgrade too.
Flash unbranded rom
I have an unlocked G920T (came locked from amazon, but unlocked easily via device unlock app preloaded)
Is there an unbranded firmware I can flash, even if its from a different variant?
Im also interested to know if i can flash a at&t firmware on my tmobile s6. Not for unlock but because the person i gave it to wants to use the ohone on at&t and feel like its an at&t phone. Whatever right? But can i do that? Or would it have to be a custom rom? Orignal firmware would be nice.

By flashing stock n910p your network is get locked because you are not using sprint sim card.
Open dialer and dial ##72786# and press "yes" the phone will restart and unlock your network.then you have to make your APN settings manually.depending on your network and you will get only 3g maximum speed 4gLte will never work.
If this does not work you have to root the phone and unlock network by galaxytools app.

Does your phone shows "invalid sim" if not then your phone is already unlocked.
Follow the guide i made step by step in link below only if it shows invalid sim.
once you unlock it then you can flash any rom or stock the unlock will be permanent.

Go to settings/about device/ mobile network type if it shows LTE here then it is getting real LTE signal if not then its fake LTE icon in status bar and its easy to fake it.
If you are in USA then you get high chances to get LTE work.

The "Device Information" page is a hidden setting page and accurately reflects the signal being received. The N7 ports are definitely able to receive the LTE signal on a GSM network as I am on Cricket Wireless. I have even received LTE on stock but it is very hard to do so. I've managed to play with the PRL on stock enough to get it once in a blue moon but have been unable to maintain it like the N7 ports allow me to.

Any way to get wifi calling on unlocked s9?

Is there any way to get wifi calling on att with an unlocked s9 from best buy? Flashing att firmware or would it be best to get the att model? Must have wifi calling for work reasons and I hate all the bloatware but might not have a choice.
at&t probably blocks it, if you don't get their version. I have an unlocked, but on T-Mobile, and it works.
I flashed the AT&T firmware on my unlocked S9 and wifi calling and video calling worked.
With the stock firmware on the unlocked S9 nether option was there
Can you point me in the direction of a download for the stock firmware for AT&T? I'm wanting to do the same as well, but feeling pretty clueless about where to obtain it. thanks!
Same here. It works for me on T-Mobile
If I flash the att firmware will I still get firmware updates?

if you flash the att firmware or buy it straight from att you will end up a device supporting the same capabilities. So it's down to your tech skills or budget.
Where can I find the latest att firmware? I did not see it on sammobile.
How to
Step 1 Go to this thread for Firmware (thanks @iBowToAndroid)
You will want to go to the link for the U firmware and find the folder with the AT&T userdata file (RB7) download the user data file and the full firmware.
Step 2 Go to this thread to get the modified version of Odin that recognizes the GS9 firmware files. (Thanks @mweinbach and Raymondf )
You will then flash the downloaded files from Step 1 in Odin, after flashing the firmware the phone will boot into recovery and you will need to wipe data and cache.
Thanks so much... that did actually help me... as a fairly tech savvy person who doesn't really get into this stuff much, the lingo I didn't know was leading me astray... I had come across that thread but didn't recognize it as anything that would help me. Thanks again! Onward to bricking my phone!

I have unlocked version on TMobile and wifi calling works just fine.
Do you have to flash the att firmware to the unlocked version in order to get VoLTE? I don’t care about WiFi calling, just hd calling and being able to stay on lte when making a call, rather than have it drop to HSPA during the call.

I understand, but unless att has changed its policies in the last month, if u do not have an imei number on that account that is an att phone with wifi calling it will turn itself off as soon as your phone is interrogated by the network. Theres 100 threads on it , applies to unlocked s8, s7, etc...
Toggle is there because of firmware, not because it works.

Any help/guidance for me??
I have tried a few times to use the March 2018 RB7 files with the ATT user data to get my phone to ATT stock - primarily for the Enhanced LTE (data and voice at the same time), as well as Wifi Calling. I can't get that version to load. I did get a more recent version to load (RK1) - and maybe that is the issue. Just wondering if there is a newer set of files and what specifically I should use (AP,BL... UserData) to get the phone fully set to AT&T. I now have the wifi calling option, just can't get it enabled. Any help is appreciated.

When you try to enable it do any of the AT&T Wifi calling configuration screens pop up?

Flash att firmware to unlocked note 10+

Hey guys new to the forum. I have purchased an unlocked note 10+. I was wanting to flash ATT firmware to it so I could have wifi calling video calling etc.. Anyways I have tried this multiple times with no success. I have downloaded what I thought was the right firmware but it still boots up with the samsung logo. When I use odin it says PASS and everything. Can anyone help me out here..?
You need to start from a reset phone. start phone with att sim. it will provision phone and restart. THEN flash att firmware. should boot up to att logo.

So I need to start at the beginning with a factory reset phone with a att sim installed? Also could you tell me where and what firmware to download for Odin?
yes. start from fresh reset in unlocked phone. then you will need to enable "usb debugging" , flash att firmware. (in "guides, news, and discussion" a post by iBowToAndroid) That is what I did to flash att firmware on my unlocked note10+. WiFi calling still does not work, hopefully a call to att will fix this.
Unless the IMEI is within a series in the AT&T system, no amount of calls or fiddling with the firmware will enable it. Even if you manage to get the AT&T boot logo, your carrier features won't enable. I'm speaking from experience dating back to the Note 9 and as recently as attempting with my wife's Note 10 upgrade. If you have a non-AT&T branded device, it will not provision the carrier features. At best, they'll be enabled for a day or so, maybe until a restart.

As I stated above, it will not. At best, it'll work for a timeframe of hours to a few days (or until reboot).
