Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P605V Bricked - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hello guys. I'm hoping someone on this forum can help me out with something. I was recently given a Note 10.1 and something is terribly wrong with the tablet. I believe that there is absolutely no software on it. Tablet will not boot, no recovery, and no download mode. I was hoping I would just be able to go into Odin and flash the software but when I plug it into my computer you get the chime that something is connected but then it comes back and says Windows cannot recognize the device that's plugged in. I was seeing if someone has any tricks that I may be able to use. I was thinking of just getting a whole new logic board but can't find One! So if anyone knows anything please help a brother out!
Thanks guys.

Hold the volume button down than press and hold power button , you will now go to download mode. Connect to your PC via USB cable. Now open Odin on your PC , you should see "added" on left side. Go ahead and load firmware.?

Won't work. It really feels like there is absolutely nothing on the tablet. Like it's been completely wiped clean. I have sat with the tablet and held the buttons down for a good 5 mins and nothing happens. I have a new logic board on the way and hopefully that fixes it. I also got word that the previous owner crashed the tablet while loaded software via Odin and ever since then nothing would come on with it. Unresponsive it's dead.

Please HELP. Phone won't turn on

Hi guys. Have a problem with my phone. Seems like I screwed it up. I was running sacs custom rom and I downloaded the TWRP (maybe a wrong version), the thing is that I downloaded it and flashed through Clockwork recovery and after that the phone went black and now doesn't turn on. Not even with home+vol up+power and not even with vol down+home+power. Nothing. Removed battery for 30 seconds and nothing.
any advice? I know I was a dumb. I'm paying insurance for it so I guess I could turn it in. But if there's something I can do, please let me know.
Thanks!
You might be hard bricked and have to take it into repair or replacement
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Where did u get the twrp u flashed? gotta link?
Double check you didn't flash something for the I9300 or another version. If it won't give you any sort of life (Try getting to download (Odin) mode) Then more then likely it's bricked..
Same problem here. No joy so far. The PC detects something (USB connected device) when I plug it in, but nothing that Odin is picking up.
ok. I downloaded TWRP 2.3 BL or something. Downloaded through GooManager doing a search,. Then rebooted the phone on recovery mode and installed it from CW. After it was flashed, the phone went black and never turned back on. If I connect usb cable to a PC I get the sound on the PC when you put any USB device but phone doesn't turn on. Tried removing the battery for a few hours and back in but nothing. tried conecting usb without the battery and it turns on the red light as if it's charging. then goes off. tried with vol up (and down), home and power but nothing.
I guess I got a hard bricked phone and I'm screwed for being stupid and install something I wasn't sure. It wasn't a ROM, so I thought it would not harm the device. Was wrong.
^ you say it all.
But when you got a replacement. Just press menu key in Goo Manager and select "install open recovery"
Sent from my O=O
yeap. asked sprint about repair it, since I have the insurance but they told me I had to pay a deductible. So I just called insurance I reported lost. Rather pay the same deductible amount and have it for spare parts than give it to them, plus the deductible. hehe. maybe someday I find way to make it work or just use it a spare parts.
thanks you guys for all the advices given. Still, if there's something else I could try, let me know.
Just hope no one else do that.
Once again... Thanks!
Since you found it via searching it could have been for any phone, probably not yours. a link would have helped here to confirm. The best way to confirm it's a paperweight is to plug in PC n see what windows calls it. If it shows up as QHSUSB_DLOAD then it's fukd.

yes. for sure was for any other phone that mine. so, should I put a bootloader on the micro sd and try lo connect it through odin to see if it detects it? where it's supposed to show that QHSUSB_DLOAD ?
Anyone know if OMAPFlash works for the GSIII? I'd suggest trying that. Google it.

I saw on ebay selling a Jig for the galaxy s3 but it says for: S3 /SIII I-9300 / I-747 Samsung Galaxy.
Does anyone knows if that device may work also for the Sprint S3? also if it may work for this kind of brick?

[Q] $$$ for HELP

Before flaming me... notice I've been a member since 2009 with my G1, and also notice that I've barely posted. I mostly read, search, and follow instructions.
I am having a problem that I've never seen before through all the Android's I've had. It's SIMILAR to one's I've seen, but NOT the same. I'm hoping someone can take a minute to give me ideas.
The other night I installed TWRP 2.6.0.0 via GooManager... when I chose "reboot recovery" from inside GooManager just to see what had changed and then the following happened........................
My GS2 will NOT boot up. Will NOT charge. Will NOT go into recovery... however it WILL GO INTO DOWNLOAD (ODIN) MODE. I've bricked phones before... never once have I been able to access DL mode. HOWEVER: I cannot get the PC (ODIN, ADB, GS2 Toolkit, Keis) to recognize the phone in download (or any) mode. When I try to boot the phone unplugged the Samsung logo will flash up quickly then the screen goes blank. Typically I'd see Deviant Development or Cyanogenmod Boot Anim at this point but NOTHING. Just goes black. Same result for manually trying to boot into recovery. When plugging the device in while powered off, I will get an empty battery with "waiting/busy/thinking" circle inside of it for a second then it also goes blank.
What I've tried:
-uninstalling Samsung USB drivers and reinstalling (both versions i could find in my PC and online- v1.3.2200.0 and 1.5.14.0 or something close to those)
-uninstalling Keis and reinstalling in combo with the Samsung drivers
-uninstalling all traces of drivers from anywhere and seeing if Windows Update would notice it
-different USB cables... about 9
-other Samsung Android phones in DL mode (windows immediately recognizes them and installs necessary drivers)
-CRC QD Electronic Cleaner inside USB
-took apart phone, gently cleaned with alcohol and insured no loose pieces
-tried with no battery inserted
-probably other's I've forgotten by now
I'm begging and willing to pay at this point for the person who helps me fix my phone. I cannot afford a new one. Samsung and T-Mobile are not willing to do anything for me. I'm pretty good with Android, and with using ADB for simple tasks. If it's possible to have happened- it honestly seems like the Recovery and OS got deleted. Either that or the USB port has gone bad but no tabs are bent inside and all "looks" fine.
Again, a CASH reward is being offered to the person who helps me FIX this. How much $ will be considering how much work it takes for the individual(s) to help fix it.
Did you try different USB ports? Or a different computer?

A lot of people have had trouble updating through goo. Some in this thread discuss it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768742
All seem to solve their problem with Odin though. Make sure you're on Odin 1.85, I used 1.84 by mistake once and it kept failing and once crashed my computer. Also make sure to deactivate Kies, Odin won't work with it running. Sometimes we miss basic stuff when we're stressing!

The only other advice I can think of is to try making a new Windows user account and give it administrative privileges.

Just read a little more of your post here is how u can fix it and its very simple, the thing is goomanager has been a little f'd up lately, its been softbricking ppls phone since 2.6 came out, u need to go here http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hercules and download twrp 2.6.0 tar file, turn off or uninstall kies, odin will never connect or see the phone if kies is running, even if in the background odin will never see the phone if kies is abywhere near it, and kies wont see it because its modified software wise, now open Odin file and run the app, put the Hercules into DL mode and connect to PC with your factory OEM USB cable, Hercules doesn't like any other cable with Odin for some reason, Odin should say "Added" once it does click on the PDA box- DONT CHECK ANYTHING ELSE, find the tar file u downloaded from the link i put above, the click start, Odin should take about 1min to do its thing, do not dissconect the phone at all until Odin gives the green "passed" signal in upper box, Odin will auto reboot ur device and that should've fixed it, if not u may need to flash another rom bit don't worry all easy fixes, I can't stress how important it is to not panic in these situations, follow what I said and ur herc will be good as new, no I don't want the money, just forward the help to the next person...
I'm about to try this. Let it rest a few days. I will go into the PC and remove kies and all its traces... I have tried many times without it installed and still it won't recognize the phone. Even with the 3 OEM cables I tried. I do use Odin 1.85 and have a few tar laying around I would have used had I got a connection. Other galaxy phones and my wife's captivate glide are recognized as soon as I plug them in. I just feel like it is more than it is letting on to. Like ... something as stupid as could the battery be bad. Would it cause this. Did a jig for my i897 mess up my USB port or motherboard. I'm just so upset. Using a crappy $20 phone and it sucks bad. Thanks to all who have helped so far. Going to take a few more stabs at it.

That is very strange indeed then, I can't think of any other task reason as to why it wouldn't recognize the device, if kies isn't installed and ur on OEM cable and drivers are installed that's very strange indeed I don't think I've ever run into an issue like that, I do know goo has been fing ppls phones up lately but I also heard they got it fixed so Im lost, I mean theoretically it could be the battery but it still doesn't make sense because u should get done response even with no battery, let me look into it a little more, now I'm interested, pm me if u figure it out or any new info this struck an itch in my brain lol sorry to hear about the herc, I lost mine for a whole day due to a bad Odin flash once and was freaking out cuz I had to use my old precedent so I feel for u, just doesn't make sense...

so here is a brief update... tried everything that was replied. im getting ready to make a video just so the hacking world can see. thats what i mean, im no NooB when it comes to this stuff. i've been building computers since i was 14... not a genius but i've never gotten "stuck" before. even when bricked i have found out how and coached people how to fix their issues lol. doesn't make any sense at all to me either. i tried searching everything i could and came up with people who had similar issues not exact. unlike you, some who replied to this didn't read my entire post especially where it says "what i've tried" lol. glad you did though. i cant tell you how much it means to me that you're thinking about it. i wish there was a way to "escalate" this matter lol. i bet the original Cyanogen dev Steve Kondik would know in a heartbeat. not discrediting anyone just saying. i bet he has come acrossed it before. unfortunately though i was running JMT6 i didn't receive any help from Deviant Development when i posted to their facebook group. GUYS I'VE TRIED EVERY POSSIBILITY WITH KIES. Anything that Kies could give me right now in this state (aka: one of 2 things... install drivers 50 times or 'emergency firmware upgrade' which requires an acknowledged connection to PC and a screen that is similar to the DL screen but indeed is not the DL screen...) i have tried. that's why i went through the hassle of making this post... if it were a basic, every-day NooB problem i would have fixed it already...
sorry if that sounds trollish but i took the time i did writing the "issues/what i've tried" in the original post for a reason. this goes far beyond what Kies can do for me. thank you very much for the help though, much obliged!

Haha I'm STILL thinking about it lol, like u I've been building and hacking software for around ten yrs now, and also like u I've never just been stuck, I've bricked devices and still brought them back, even applied the unbrickable mod to my captivate and never have I just not been able to explain what was going on lol, I help whenever I can because I may be the one asking for help someday, this issue u have though is very perplexing, it can't be the port if the phone still goes into DL mode, but then why is it not able to connect? The PC should see something, even a hard brick gets noticed by PC as being there, can't get a flashable connection but the pc still sees it, I've been working this over for 2 days now lol, I am trying for u buddy lol

btw, something weird... once i created the new account on my PC and tried different cables, when trying my HTC EVO 4G (old school) cord i got the "duh-dum" from windows as if it knew i plugged my device in- however it didn't pop up with "installing device driver software" nor show up in Device Manager anywhere... i got it to make the sound on/off maybe 3 times in half an hour.
so... to tease your brain even more... why would ONLY the HTC cord make it do that and why wasn't anything "happening" in the pc? even driver manager (freeware) doesn't do anything.

HAD to throw that in there didn't you... the fact that yours is still working hahaha jk.
anyhow like i said its awesome you're thinking about it and trying for me. really appreciate that. and i agree- never seen anything like that. ready to start waving cash wads around hahaha. you're exactly right though- example here:
take out battery, insert battery, press volume hardware keys to get into download and plug in charging cord.... it shows me samsung and just starts rebooting and vibrating every 2 seconds until i let go and unplug....
take out battery, insert battery, press volume hardware keys to get into download and plug in USB cord... goes into "blah blah blah press volume up to continue to download, press volume down to restart device" so i obviously hit UP and it goes into download. it HAS TO know im connected to the computer.
there's a chance it just reads how much voltage is coming into the USB and determines whether or not to go into DL mode- i've seen that before. just wish i had another PC here to try on.
about ready to give out my LogMeIn info and let people see im not crazy hahaha

Oh I believe u lol I've seen some unbelievable stuff before, just never like this, and yes I guess it could be acting like a jig but then where are u getting the 301k to jump it lol believe me I had my herc for a day, went to root it and Odin failed halfway through bcuz I forgot to disable kies, which led me to " firmware upgrade encounter an issue, please select recovery in kies and try again" for two days because it wouldn't connect and that's the only screen it would boot to, ugh had to use my old zte merrit, ugh that sucked, so I feel for u buddy, have u tried different PCs? I can't think of any other reason, if u have no other way u could JTAG it, I know I know but as a last alternative, I got a buddy with a box, I'm trying to recreate it on a galaxy precedent but all I've gotten so far was a few soft bricks I can't figure out why its not being seen as anything, there should be something there, somewhere, even if it only sees the qualcom chip something should be seen with PC...

yeah... ive been thinking about that. on the other hand im thinking that $400 isnt that much money and i'd really like an upgrade lol. id LOVE a Note 2 or GS4... but that takes time and patience and saving for a couple weeks... therein lies the problem haha. this guy right here has limited patience.
keep plugging away at it (no pun intended) and let me know if you have any new ideas.

[Q] start up screen is flashing, won't turn on or off

Hello, I'm looking for help with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite SM-T110.
The problem I am having is it is stuck on the screen that flashes on when you first power on the tablet, so it's the screen that says samsung galaxy tab 3 lite SM-T110. It isn't on solid, it just keeps flashing over and over again. I can not turn the power off. I tried holding the power button for a full minute and got nothing.
I have tried to get to recovery mode by holding power, volume up and home but all I get is a screen with a little android laying down saying no command.
I know next to nothing about tablets so I am really at a loss here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know exactly what happened, it's my kids tablet. The battery was dead so I charged it and when I took it off the charger I noticed this problem. There is a pretty good chance it was dropped but of course no one is admitting that.
The only thing I can do with it is go into download mode. If I try to get into recovery mode it just shows a little android guy on his back and says no command. The start up screen flashes continuously until the battery goes dead. I can't turn it off at all.

You are still safe if you can access to download mode, try to flash a new stock rom with odin. It works most of the times
Any chance you could link me to a good tutorial? I am totally clueless when it comes to this stuff.

Make sure that you use this firmware for your device "SM-T110" http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-T110/ , choose the one that suit you the best or from your region. Good Luck, thanks button or a cup of coffee could be useful.

Thanks! I will try this and let you know how I make out.
Hi I am having the same problem. Nothing that I know of has been done to mine. It's my mom's actually and I know it has been running slow. All I get is the flashing screen and little android guy saying no command. Tried the home power and volume up and that's when I get the little A guy with no command message. What can I do since I don't get anything else.

Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition not booting up/ firmware issue

i have this awesome tablet for a good time. it's the wifi edition with 16gb black. this week i noticed when the tablet goes on rest mode, the screen turns dark (as usual) but when i want to us the tablet, the screen remains dark. i could hear the notification. i had to restart the device and quickly start using the tablet before the screen goes dark again. i noticed the message on the screen stating "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies and try again." i connected my tablet to my laptop and no success. i called samsung and they told me to press the vol+, power button & home key for 40 secs and nothing happened.
i am turning to the great forum to ask for help. all my stuffed are on the tablet memory. at this point i don't care about it as long as someone can help me bring my awesome tablet back to life. i never rooted it at all.
please, help me.
I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of thing, but I do know that on the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition booting into recovery is slightly different than it is on most other Samsung devices. Where most Samsung's are power button + volume up + home key (like Samsung rep said), with the Note 10.1 2014 edition it's just the first two, power + volume up. Here is a link that will describe step by step how to do it as getting the timing right can be a little bit tricky if you have not done it before. http://mobileaddons.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-to-hard-reset-factory-reset-samsung_9205.html There is probably the same instructions here on xda somewhere if you do a search... I just googled it and that is what it gave me. If you need end up having to boot it in download mode, thats the power and volume down keys, just push and hold both (if I remember correctly). It sounds like it may have attempted to update to lollipop but the update failed for whatever reason, but I could be wrong. What exactly did the Samsung rep tell you to do? a hard reset/factory reset (which will wipe all your stuff), or did they say to attempt the update via kies? Just curious
hi thebadwrench, i followed and tried the instructions you shared and my tablet does not respond at all it stays dark and does not even respond when i plug the charger in. there are no feedback or sounds at all. i do not know what else to do.
Hmmmm. You may have a hardware failure if it is not responding to anything at all. I know others have experienced problems with the screen flickering and/or quit working as result of a loose or disconnected electrical connection internally. It might be worth removing the rear cover of your tablet to look for something like that. I don't know how comfortable you'd be with that, but it's actually pretty easy to do. I recently replaced both the battery and charging port on mine and posted some pictures in this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014/help/q-instructions-tips-replacing-usb-t3345093 I'd just disconnect both ribbon cables and reconnect them. While your in there (and this has worked for some people) simply unplugging the battery for a few minutes then reconnect it. Kinda resets the tablet (you shouldnt lose anything saved on tablet, assuming your able to revive it). If your not comfortable with digging into your tablet, take it to a phone/electronics repair place and for a fee they could do it for you, or better yet they may be able to diagnose the problem definitively. Other than that, I'm out of ideas. Sorry to hear that your having issues, let us know what happens
I followed the steps and my screen is back on but it is stuck in recovery mode. It shows the green Android guy and says downloading but nothing for the last 10 minutes. What do I do?
Good to hear you got your screen back on. As for it being stuck in recovery mode... just to clarify, what exactly did you do to get it to the screen its on now (i. e. did you just attempt to power it on, or pwr + vol. up buttons, etc). It might be best to just send me a personal message...
How do I send you a personal message?

Weird bricked GT-I9195 stuck on black screen after Samsung logo

So, unluckily today i find myself here lookin' for help with my phone. I had already took a look on other brick threads, but i can't find an appropriate answer to my problem.
I'm (i was) running lineage-14.1-20170602-nightly, i had ne0zone75's TWRP 3.1.0.0-0, and that's how the brick came in a strange way; i was simply on XDA Labs app browsing the forum, when i received a call. I've answered, and when i shut off the call the phone shut off immediately after. I thought it was a reboot, but keeping pressed the power button didn't switched on the phone anymore. So i've tried to remove the battery and re insert it after some minutes, but the only thing i can get is the screen with the samsung logo that goes all black after 5 seconds. I already had other bricks due some errors of mine in the past, but this time it's really difficult.
1: I can't access recovery mode. Ow, how i wish i could.
2: I can access download mode, but after that i reach the ODIN MODE screen with the details of product binary, KNOX, ecc. the phone shuts off again.
3: If i keep the power button pressed, the phone doesn't starts. It only starts if i replug the battery in, but after some seconds it shuts off again.
4: How could a call as another mess up the whole phone?
5: I didn't installed nothing new from at least a week... yesterday an automatic update of the Play Store took place, but except that nothing has been changed. Nothing of nothing! No settings, no apps...
What could i do? Installing Kies with Samsung drivers could help me flashing a stock rom for example? Because at the moment, there isn't too much that i can do with the phone in this state... I hope this little jewel won't have to become a stone to be thrown away. Any help would be great, and really appreciated. Thanks in advance...
Things has got worse. Now my device doesn't starts at all; no vibrations, no signs of life, nothing. I've tried even to put it for 6 hours in my refrigerator, because i've read that the cold temperature could be helpful to fix some broken contacts on some component, but i'm losing hope 'bout it. I supposed that at this point is something hardware-based and not software, because it's just impossible that a call like an other one could be the cause of this hard brick... The only thing is that if connected to my PC, it is being showed as QHSUSB_LOAD. I'll try some methods that i've seen in other forums, like softwares that tries to fix this, but i think that i'll be forced to buy a new device. Neither an usb-jig could help me to force the download mode if the phone is dead in every aspect... the only thing that i still didn't understood, is if a debrick.img on my SD card (sadly i've read that a microSD class 10 with at least 16 GB is required, and i don't have one) could help somehow on a situation like this one of not. Still no one could advice me with some tip, guys
Edit - feel free to close this thread, I have another phone now
