Hi, it seems that the P2 with Nougat defaults to screenshots being saved as JPG not PNG. I don't understand why, especially as JPG is lossy and seems to create a bigger file!
Does anybody know if there is a way to change this default, please?
Thanks

The easy way out is to use a 3rd party screenshot app.
Thanks, I tried a few but couldn't find any that let me choose. It doesn't seem to be a highly ranked feature!
use this app

I want to know this too!
To my knowledge, this is not able to be done with a reg hack on the smartphone devices.
An add-on application (not free), X-Bar 3.2 will accomplish what your are asking as well as provide other functionality not native with smartphone OS:

You can set it to 12-hour time by specifying the "-12" parameter. The way you do this is by creating a shortcut to the ClockOnTop_QVGA_WM5.exe file (\Program Files\ClockOnTop\ClockOnTop_QVGA_WM5.exe).
Here is an example shortcut file:
Code:
55#"\Program Files\ClockOnTop\ClockOnTop_QVGA_WM5.exe" -12
Put this in \Windows\Start up.
Only problem with this is that there will be a Chinese character appended to the time, and I am not sure how to get rid of it. If someone could search the registry for this program, maybe there is a language code that can be modified...
hey guys, thanks a lot for this program, its exactly what i needed. however, i'm really sorry, but i'm completly new to this, and i need to change it to the 12 hr format. if you could please explain how to do this in an easier way (i dont know how to make a shortcut?) i would really appreciate it. thanks a lot

Really don't need to change the resolution. You can add any photo to a contact, and the system resize for you...only need to make the face visible for recognice the caller
Test it...
ok, this means i dont have to change the resolution, but with proportion should this pictures have? square? 4:3?

I beleave the best is the same resolution as the device...but you can test some diferent resolutions and post the results.
I never take care about the resolution before, but perhaps this is an interesting thing to take care...

yes, i have tried it now, the best proportion is 4:3 (portrait format).
so you can use for example 2MBit pictures, because 1600:1200 is 4:3, but you must rotate it 90 degrees that you have it in portrait format.
thx for your help.

I think video is too long, you could just say that we need to open regedit and change all occurences value of Display1_DownScalingSupported to 1 and reboot, but anyway thanks!
Btw is it possible to keep original DPI? To make it scrollable, not scaled, it's not very comfortable to see 3:4 ratio on 16:9 screen.

They're supposed to be 80x80.
If you do a google image search you can specify the size of images, so you can say exactly 80x80 and that's all you'll get.
For example...

So I want to unblur some apps on the carousal. I've unzipped the app and found the icon under different folder's, usually drawable-mdpi. Now I want to know how I can make it clear. I know I need to make the dimensions 512x512. I've used photoshop cs6 to do this. Now I need to unblur it. I've managed to filter the picture, but its still a little unclear. Any suggestions on how I can make it clearer? Also, after I've extracted, How do i put it back into an apk file?

I think the carousal icons are under "\system\vendor\data\Otter\images\" try there.

You want to completely replace it, don't just resize it. You can get the icons at Google Play, they use the big ones. You want to follow this guide:

You can't just resize images and expect them to be sharp. They aren't vector images but raster images. You will need to get an icon that is already at 512x512 or greater for it to be clear.

Actually, I downloaded pictures online of the Icon, then resized them. Then I put the apk back together, resigned it, and it is crystal clear. Its because when I download them they're very clear AND bigger so when I resize them it actually gets clearer. Now my gmail and OTA rootkeeper app icons are very clear. But sometimes it wont let me sign the file because I get an error. So it doesn't always work.

oops, yeah. What I meant was you can't increase the size of a raster image and expect it to be clear.
