AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project

Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes

KERNEL:

PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

Good to hear!

Enjoying the rom but I've noticed that my device is charging much slower on aicp. Can't wait to see future builds. Nice job!

I've heard that this rom has a built in custom kernel with added cpu governors, etc. Is this true? If so I'm definitley switching from omni to this rom .

First official build is released! Link for download is in the OP!
Clean flash is highly recommended as its a unofficial to official build.

My phone is dying at 20 percent for some reason.

Good to see another official ROM on the Robin! I'm testing it out right now. So far, I'm liking it! It's customizable, and it runs smooth and snappy. I'll give it a few days and see how it does in terms of performance and battery life, but so far so good! I'm digging the use of the lights on the back; when the devices charges, the lights indicate the percentage. A few minor gripes, though: when you enable the battery voltage stats on the lock screen, there doesn't seem to be a way to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit for the temperature. Also, it be cool if there were a way to change the size on the AM/PM indicator on the lock screen, like you can with the status bar clock. Besides those two very minor gripes, this is a solid ROM so far! Keep up the good work! :good:

Seems to be working pretty well although i've noticed a few bugs here and there. Also, the speakers seem to be way louder than omnis configuration.. I guess I would like to know if the extra output is normal because i have not run stock on this device since i got it so i don't know what the normal output would even be
Edit.. @psychoTR2 I posted in the DU discussion a few weeks ago about introducing a feature that would make the leds on the back indicate charge percentage. Does this do that as 1 led = 25% battery? and so on?

Not exactly. I'm not sure how it's laid out, cause I had 3 light at 81% and 4 when I hit the 90's.

1. There's some on and off lag throughout the ROM.
2. Boot process seems to get stuck sometimes and throws me into a bootloop until being able to boot fully.
3. Ram bar for recent switcher shows an incorrect amount sometimes
4. Some things I think you'll find more noticeable if you come from Omni.
AICP has been one of my favorite ROM Communities and I know they won't let us down. Performance will be on par with omni soon. Let's just hope lineage os updates their build soon as well. I think a lot of devs merge lineage os commits with their builds so we may have inherited a few bugs from them.
Although I could be wrong.

Mine is running fine, never had a bootloop with this rom yet, but had that with other roms..
What Do you do in case of a bootloop? Restore a backup or clean flash? Or anything else?

I usually clean flash after I encounter such a problem. Not much of a backup person as I'm used to setting my phone up in under 5min.
The bootloop problem happens every now and then on this ROM for me but eventually it does boot all the way. Just reporting what I find.

Hey poncz3k, Thanks man. AICP has been working fine for me. Battery backup is moderate. No force closes, no major bugs. Only one ting I have noticed is that I had some problems with internet. Sometimes it shows internet range but I'm not able to browse. Once I set device to airplane mode and turn back off, internet resumes. I'm not sure if its the issue with ROM. Needs to be confirmed.
Thanks for this awesome port...
GPS fixes are dodgy. RIL/WiFi is sketchy at best. I have logs for all of the above. Logs keep mentioning signal strength out of range - dropped. The first build was working all right. The updates not so much. Build was clean flashed on top of 1450updater zip. Data remains in off mode if I leave WiFi zone. Airplane mode on/off brings it back. Sending via AICP log that sh1t as well.
GPS issues?
Ive been on AICP for a few weeks now and cant find any faults in it besides one. single. thing.
GPS
its horrendous. It "works" for simple things like a speedometer, but it fails to work for g maps, or any navigation based tasks.
Is there a fix for this (Im talking about NOT 7.1.1)
and is this problem still occuring in 7.1.1?

this is an issue on MOST 7.1.1 ROMS I assume it will be a wait until PA/NextBit come out with their kernel so that the appropriate patches sit in place for the GPS to work smoothly. More importantly until CAF releases their secret sauce for our device on the 7.1.x node. As of right now that only exists for the 7.0 node and Google as brilliant as they are changed a fair few things between the two. FYI another dev has moved to a whole new tree build thanks to this... Maybe that kernel could be forked here so that this dev can use it... But that would be up to them. In general though this is a good stable ROM

I've changed my GPS settings with faster gps and google maps has worked fine for me when I've used it. I get a quick lock and reroute works fine.

Apparently this has something to do with NextBit's implementation of GPS. I'm not a Dev so I don't know the details. I'm just a tester. However I can be pretty sure it isn't the Devs fault. Considering for the most part the GPS just "works". One of the Devs is building a fresh kernel from scratch. Maybe we can request him to share it for other Devs to use?
The latest nightly (1/21) fixed almost all the problems i've been having. Much less laggy, still not quite buttery. WiFi seems to be a bit iffy, but that was also the case on aokp, crdroid, and omni. Sometimes apps refresh (especially hangouts), might be a RAM problem, i dunno.

@Røbin I plan on flashing this as soon as I get home. May I ask how your experience with this build has been? RR has been my favorite on my OP3T and I'm very excited to flash this to my robin. I also saw that Gapps are optional.. Does that mean Signature Spoofing is Included?
Edit:
I must say man.. you did an amazing job with this rom!

I can really see what you mean man this thing is rock stable!
Out of curiosity.. How does the process work for making an unofficial rom official? Is there any current N maintainer for rr on robin? Because if not I think @Røbin has a massive chance with this..
@AnierinB I didn't add anything to get Google service support.Well, the optional word was a mistake so please choice your favorite gapps. Currently I'm building RR as unofficial. To get official support I need to apply on RR community. But first I need to see how Ether really goes with RR among the users. I don't want to waste my time if RR not getting popular for ether.
Holy crap RR on the nextbit? Downloading now!!
EDIT: There has been RR on the robin before just I didn't notice *Facepalm*.
First impressions. It's laggy compared to omni. Opening apps are fine but scrolling is prone to stutter under minimal load and when in apps like the Play Store or Google Now it's very laggy. Omni didn't have this issue. Substratum works as expected. And didn't get any bugs from what I could tell. If the performance was good as omni's I'd move for sure. Many features and very stable. Can't complain there. Just the laggy UX hold me back :\ (If It's just me feel free to tell me. A user above said that the performance was great but from what I can tell it's not really. I only flashed opengapps, nothing else).
Also audio was a little odd for me. Upon clicking the nav keys or another button, the audio played when doing so sounds quiet and sometimes cut off. Though music or youtube was perfect.

Did you clean flashed?Well,I wasn't expecting RR would be that bad.It would be better if other users who are using RR right now report back their thoughts.Anyway,It's been a month since RR updated their source. For you information RR is a heavy customizable custom rom,As of it's so many features phone often gets slower or buggy btw I have to admit even RR is so heavy it still manage to provide proper stabilities. Thanks for your reports.

Performance and battery are amazing over here. Audio is also on par with all the LOS based ROMs for this device. And I come from AICP (LOS Based) and Omni (AOSP Based). Idle battery usage is actually better than any other N ROM I've used on Ether as well.

Which custom kernel? There is actually none.
There was electron kernel in the past but it's broken and leads to bootloops on Omni and lineage.

Of course I cleaned flashed (Coming from Omni). I only did test for around 6 hours and only did one reboot after applying my subtratum theme. Might give it another go as I love RR haha. I just hate a laggy UX. I really do hope this rom get's picked up by the rest of the community as RR is my favorite rom and I do want long term support and all.
I watched the google I/O livestream and with Android O they are supposedly optimising the operating system much better by default. If we get O on the Ether that would be awesome.
Best of luck Røbin, I'll do some more testing when I've got time to play around with my phone!
Finally... Thanks dev!!!

If you have a major bug to report that has not been reported already, please take the following steps to report it to us. It will save you, Team Resurrection Remix and me quite some time.
Download the MatLog app from the Play Store.
After downloading the MatLog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into MatLog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.

Edge lighting not work ⚒ and smart charge not work ⚒
+1 in random reboots
It reboots to recovery and recovery warns about Android Rescue Party trigger
I flashed the rom on sunday. I also falshed mipa kernel.
Until now, I have no reboots.
Wiped everything except intenal storage.
I flashed lated beta firmware (20.8.20), then the rom, then gapps, then kernel and last magisk.
The rom is very good. I think the phone is slightly faster and I have better battery comsumption than EvoX.
Excellent work by the devs.

Thanks a lot to all of you guys who are developing this magnificent ROM. I love the details of this ROM.
But unfortunately I also have the rebooting problem too. How can I help you for your debugging process? Since the phone reboots, I think that your MatLog way won't work.
Hope we can solve it because I really want to use this ROM

Hi adazem009 and thanks for the hard work.
As for the problem with the speakerphone, could you find the log file made with matlog useful? If so, on Saturday afternoon as soon as I get back from work, I could post it.
Or if someone else can post it these days. One last thing: I flashed ReikaRin's Tsurara kernel, but the speakerphone problem is always there.
Thanks so much
I can provide the matlog if needed but only if its useful

It should be helpful, but I think it's better if you use adb shell logcat on a PC (with USB debugging enabled).

by the time I completed my backup through migrate and rebooted the device it went to 30 percent!

Yes, I'm Korko123.
Hey adazem009!
First of all Thanks a Lot for working on a this custom ROM for this old device!
A few month ago I was just searching through the XDA Forums and came across LineageOS 17.1[Z00L][Z00T] by markkiths. I gotta admit, I definitely wasn't expecting to find a Android 10.0 ROM for this phone. From then I started using it. But markkiths recently stopped working on it. So, I was a little sad.
But then you came to the rescue!
First with Havoc-OS v3.12 and now Resurrection Remix.
I am not a developer but I do appreciate sincere efforts from enthusiastic people like you. So, once again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I have a Z00L and, I am more than happy to help out with any king of bug(s) testing. Here's my Telegram.
Best of Luck
Hope this one becomes a master piece of a ROM.

Thanks for the super quick responses by the way!
The battery is draining too fast when compared to hovoc Is this due to the updation of my twrp to the lastest one or any rom problem ??
ALSO should post screenshots of this beautiful rom?

I don't have Z00L nor Z00T, so I can't take screenshots. RR is different than Havoc-OS and some processes are probably spamming the logs, which drains battery. Maybe I can debug it on Z00ED.

hey, a z00t user here!
i told this to markkiths and telling you know since you're the active developer.
"Loudspeaker issues during calls." this bug is not happening with the icey kernel.
my cpu is defective and i need a special build with 1.1ghz on little cores removed to be able to boot properly, i don't have the 1.3(d) build, still using 1.3(c). maybe you could try using icey as the default kernel and develop over it?
i didn't try the rr yet, would icey 1.3c work with this rom? i was taking my midterm exams and now my finals are coming. i will be able to test it in a couple of weeks.
can you build a special version of the default kernel for me if you can run the build again?
these are the modified files https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cPqpcd9cbgBpfoCHjRbbOWD2A3HZ_cTd/view
i'm having a laggy ui and random reboots with 1.1ghz on little cores and can't even complete the first setup progress without like 10 crashes.

Just a gentle reminder to not flash this ROM on your main device, as especially with RIL at the moment, is broken, preventing and mobile data/call usage.
Great ROM, performance is excellent, seems faster than Stock 11, other than bugs mentioned in post it is very stable.
Flashed over ArrowOS 12.1. Booted fine, most works. Need Google Play Services/Gapps. Great job!
Can someone post screenshots of the ROM? There is a toogle for unlimited google photos?
BTW, I wasn't sure what was the most up-to date version, so I flashed v.5 from the Download's link and the latest version from the Test folder, which appeared to be a few hrs more redent. Seemed pretty much the same. I was hoping that one of them contained gapps, but I see both are labled as Vanilla when you look in Settings/About my device.

I have stock 11 on my pixel 2 xl, will flashing this improve battery life? Its nice to see Android 13 on this 2017 phone!
I think it is not guaranteed. Given that this ROM is on beta stage so bugs are expected. Like OP said don't flash it on your main device. Otherwise feel free to try and report the issues you've encountered.
New build is out!
SELinux has been set to Enforcing and qcrilhook.jar bugs have helped progress RIL solution.
So far RIL is still broken, again, as stated, don't test on your main device.
Amazing, great work!! I flashed latest v. 6 on Saturday and reflashed with minimal Core gapps on Sunday. Litegapps 57 MB. Also flashed TWRP and rooted with no issues.
Works nicely, but had to dl gapps from Play store. Need smaller size rom if you are going to include anything more than minimal gapps w/o modifying System partition. I.e., risk brick .
Occasionally having slight issues bringing up recents with gesture nav. Not sure if it's a ROM issue or related to LC launcher. This issue went away. See Edit, below.
Edit: As this is my backup phone to play with, yesterday, contrary to my advice to users for which Taimen is their dd, I decided to try to repartition my Taimen. I used the script on @Pixelbot 's PE 12.1 XDA thread. If I bricked, it would be no great loss! Also, this was a personal challenge!
Repartitioning using @PixelBoot's script worked without incident! I factory wiped in TWRP and with the larger System Partition I was able to install the Nik Gapps Full A13 gapps package and booted without incident. Restored my settings and apps using my Pixel6 Pro and everything works great (except for telephony, due to RIL not being fixed yet, but I don't have a sim on my Taimen. ... I am looking forward to playing with the next update.
So excited for this I'll definitely flash it once RIL is fixed
I got an update ota to 13.0 today. I assume data and all is working on it? I'm really wanting to flash it. Do we need to clean flash or just ota away? Lol

RIL not working yet. So no phone or mobile data. I'm on it since my Taimen is a backup phone w/o sim. You might want to hold off a little if Taimen is your dd.
Why would they send an ota with ril not working. That's why I asked because of yer previous post about data not working. In the changelings fer last couple of days lots of radio and WiFi changes have been done. I always look at those before flashing . So I guess I'll wait on the dev to reply or go over to telegram to research this question a tad bit deeper.
Wait a minute Alxoom. If yer on last update without radio working can you look in the updater in settings? I mean I got a notification on my bar and updater download like a normal OTA .... HHHHMMM. Off ta research. Haha
I must be going crazy. When the notification showed up it said 13.0 .. after I downloaded it it says 12.1 , and it says 13.0 in the changelogs. Oh well guess I'm blind or crazy,,,, prolly both LoL
