not registered on network BUT WEIRD

ok seems to be a common problem and i have done a lot of googling to no answer,maybe you guys can help.
So I have a note 2 from Vodafone i got it unlocked so i can use my O2 card in it,everything worked fine, i did not get the unlock code from Vodafone i brought to a shop and they unlocked it for me,its worked for the last three months fine then all of a sudden it keeps saying "NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK" it hasnt been able to make 1 phone call or sms since and is not a coverage problem,I've tried all the usual take bat out reinsert sim check for flight mode etc etc....
On the status screen it says "emergency calls only" when i try to select the network manually it finds the o2 network but when i select it it says "UNABLE TO CONNECT TRY AGAIN LATER" WEIRED THING IS MY DATA WORKS AND GETS THE 02 APN SETTINGS but still no calls and texts........,THE WEIRDER THING IS i put my vodafone sim in and it works fine make calls send texts no problem,,its like the phone is locked to Vodafone again by itself but its not prompting for the unlock code with other network sim,any ideas guys??
i dont want to root fone,but the status does say "modified" and i do not know why
i can see my rom build no in the downloads section could i reflash the same rom to the phone and it should relock it to vodafone then ask me enter the unlock code which i can get from vodafone????would this use the flash counter thing would it void my warrenty??????i dont want to void warrenty.

Sounds to me like u need to restore your efs I had the samr problem and hsd wiped my imei somehow

imei no with #06# is the same as on back of phone if that means anything?

If your IMEI showing correctly then chances are less you have broken EFS folder.
I don't know this will work, but you can try
Dial *#197328640#
Main Menu - UMTS - Debug Screen - Phone Control - Network Lock - Options Perso SHA256 OFF - wait 30 seconds,
then go back
Network Lock then choose - NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ
wait for a min and reboot

Ok so i tried rhat but when i select network lock im presented with the following.
Menu not exist.
Current command 186
Anymore ideas??

Also all day i have the orignal vodafone sim in the phone and it will not call out it goes straight to "call ended" but it will send sms and use data Well doesnt seem to be much on the interweb im finding the same stuff that I have mentioned.....
Can I reflash the stock rom its in the forums here to download? My only worry is that if it doesnt work and I still have the same problems will my warrenty be void when I send it to vodafone to be fixed? If I can restore the phone back to the way it is now with no worry of warrenty being void then ill whack away and flash new rom to see if it helps.....any help appreciated my head is melted

[Q] emergency calls only problem on gsm mode .

I am using a note 2 (n7100) international verient. . It's a factory unlock. . I am using it since almost 9 months. . Suddenly since last week I am getting emergency call only on my status bar i cannot make calls or receive call..I get this on gsm mode .. If i change it to wcdma it works fine... my phone is on stock rom.. I never used any other rom. ... I tried flashing the stock rom again but what happed is just after I flash it the phone works fine one both gsm+wcdma but only for some time like 15to20 minutes... then again I have to change the network to wcdma to get it working...
This problem started suddenly I dint make any changes .. .. no update .. no app uninstall .. nothing it was sudden. ..
my imei is fine .. serial number is fine. .
I am using airtel sim I tried using the same sim in other phone it works .. I even tried some other provider's sim.. I get emergency call on both gsm and wcdma. .. With other airtel sim it works on wcdma ...

i257m network problem after root and flash

i am from croatia(europe) i have one i257 from telus i have rooted him and unlocked but now when i switch on with sim card inside i can call for 1 minute or so after one minute i have network but i cant send or recive call but sometimes after some time i can call the phone but after some time i cant everything on the phone is ok i have flashed few time with orginal flash from telus and reseted 10 times also hard reset 5 times can someone help me what i can do

I dont understand excatly what your problem is. but check your carriers apn settings and update them into your phone.

i have recived one i257m from canada hi was locked on telus network i have rooted him with GT-I9195_Kernel_v1 and recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.6-serranoltexx and S4Mini_RootKit_v2 after that i have no network when i switch phone on hi gets network for one min or so after that he goes ofline wireles i working good i have flashed few times hard reseted i have back up of this phone nvm and i have write back to phone with z3x and nothing helps do you have any idea

Emergency calls only

I have an international unlocked GT-i9250 that seem to connect to any of the networks. It was working fine until I decided to flash a ROM.
I have tried various SIM cards of different networks. It seems to detect the SIM card though. When I pull down the notification drawer, it shows "Emergency Calls Only - Airtel". So it is able to recognize the Airtel SIM card inside. But it wont connect to the network at all, either automatically or manual selection.
When I manually search for networks and select the right network, it comes up with a message it wasnt able to connect to the network at that time.
I have flashed all the factory images starting from 4.0 to 4.3 and a couple of other custom ROMs and none of them seemed to have helped. I also tried extracting only the radio from the images and flashed them using fastboot and that was uselesss too.
EDIT: Yesterday, I flashed the stock ROM using Odin as well. Still no luck.
Is there anything else that I can try?

I registered on the site just to say that I have the same problem .
my nexus 4 was working fine like 1 year untill we cut off our mobile carrier ,
now , when we enabled the carrier back on (sorry for my bad English , I hope u'll understand me)
the nexus 4 seems to recognize the sim since it writes : EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY | MY CARRIER (012 MOBILE)
but i cant get it to work with the sim , the sim works perfect on my moms iphone so its not a problem with the sim .
the sim wasnt cut or anything . and it was working just fine for 1 year . I tried flashing google stock 4.4.4 with a toolkit ,
didnt work . Still getting the same EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY | MY CARRIER (012 MOBILE)
and when i tried to select my carrier manually , like the thread opener did ,
I got the cannot connect to this network . try again later massage .
I honestly tried everything I know .
Im starting to think its a problem with the device and not the operating system .
since i flashed a brand new stock image and it didn't work !

I have a Moto z2 TMobile version .. received it to try and fix it but it beyond my knowledge ... When u pull sim card it say no sim.when u reinsert it still says no sim card...
When u restart the phone it says nothing about missing sim or no sim at .. I have attached screen shots I have my imei and baseband not sure what else is missing that would work ...
Phone is bl unlocked not rooted currently and is on Oreo ...
Anyone know of a way to fix this or is it just a while phone permanently?

Obviously, make sure you have a valid sim. You can try going to settings > Networks & Internet, click the 3dots in the right corner and reset your networks. In the same settings, you can go to Mobile network > access point names, hit the 3dot menu and reset to default. I'm not on stock, but I believe there is a setting in system settings to update carrier info, try that as well. If all else fails you might need to factory reset the phone. Have you tried another sim to see if you get any messages about sim? Again, these suggestions assume that the sim you have is good.

Happened to me on sprint moto z2 force. My fix? Extract the sim, put it again..

Have factory reset phone ,Have reset network ,apn and all that is greyed out can't do nothing to them. Sim is still valid as Its the sim I'm currently using in my xiaomi phone ... When u pull sim out it says no sim when u pop it back in says nothing about needing a sim or invalid sim just no network besides wifi ...sim is currently installed in this screen shot ....

I have tried that and so has TMobile store ...

Sim is currently installed and can see no network, no sim error,no invalid sim ... This the screen shot showing what it shows on my

What did the tmo store say? If nothing is happening it seems like the slot itself has a problem. Can you see down in the slot? Is there anything jammed in there or anything messed up?

They said only thing they could do was send it in under manufacturer warranty .. tried new sim and still no go ... Nothing is jammed in the slot or bent ..only opened sim tray on day 1 I bought it ..

That's odd and it seems like a bad sim slot, defective hardware. The only other thing I can think of to try and it's a long shot is to DL the tmo app, sign in, and verify your sim number and imei on your account. I know it's active and working on the other phone, so maybe there's a glitch or discrepancy between the sim and your z2. You can dial *#06# to view your imei and the sim will have the numbers you need on the sim.
