Hello,
as i crashed my old pumpkin head unit, i am looking for a new one, for my Audi A4
(my current model is out of stock)
I consider ordering this one now:
http://www.erisinwholesale.com/special-car-dvd/audi/erisin-es3078a-7-android-51-car-dvd-gps-dab-for-audi-a4-497.html
This one has already the Audi/VW main-connector right at the radio, also a twin fakra connector and even an integrated CAN-modul. So there will be way less wiring spaghetti behind the unit, which seems really nice to me.
But i am a bit afraid, that the radio reception could be bad...
I don´t really trust this ex China-factory twin Fakra connector there. Usually one had to use a external powered antenna boost-adapter for those android head units. And even with those boost-adapters, the reception was never as good, as with the original radio. Because no adapter could replace the twin-receiver diversity function of the original VW/Audi radios.
Sooo....
With this new unit, i would have to directly connect my antennas... without any adapters or boosters...
Has anyone an idea if this really works well on those new units??
I don´t think those new units have two receivers installed?! Or do they?
Is this twin fakra adapter at least powered?
I hope someone has already played with a similar unit and can give some comments..
thanks!
In theory it should be better with a port for the diversity antenna as well. At the end of the day this is the main reason why the original radio has better reception.
I've got the Erisin ES3015V which I suspect is similar (it has the same VW-specific connections). I have never owned any other android head unit, so I can't compare the radio reception, but I can tell you that it's not as good as the original radio. My guess is it's somewhere in between.
Hi,
Thanks!
Yes, your ES3015V should be pretty much the same, just with a different front cover. I have ordered this ES3078A now anyhow... Hope for the best...
Do you know, is this Twin-Fakra Connector at least powered? (12V) or do we need to add something here on our own?
Are you satisfied with the rear speaker volume?
This is also something, i had to modify on my first head unit.

Sorry, don't know if it's powered or not, but I'd be very interested in hearing about your findings .I haven't noticed the sound from the rear speakers being too low, but then again, sound quality overall isn't exactly brilliant. I've been thinking about adding a powered subwoofer, but I've read a lot of stuff on here about these units being underpowered on the RCA outputs, so I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.

What is the Rockfors....an amplifier? a Subwoofer?
Did it have some RCA inputs?
Hey,
the Rockford Fosgate Systen is a complete OEM Soundsystem from Mitsubishi.
It Contains Speaker in all 4 Doors, in the Front Doors with Tweeters and in the Rear is a Subwoofer.
Did you buy your unit with Canbus decoder?
According to Dasaita, you need the canbus CB001 for models 2007-2013 and CB003 for models 2014-2017
The can bus is needed for Rockford Fosgate System to work with the headunit
You should buy harness with canbus
Ok,
but did you can change the punch of the subwoofer?
I am in a 2013 X and have a Dasaita PX3 unit. Subwoofer controls when you have the canbus box attached are not the sub bar in the Amplifier app but the far left 60hz bar.
Hope that helps.
It's like this one... But Dasaita may have it on their site Hot-Audio.

I have the same issue controlling the subwoofer on the PX6 with outlander and fosgate system. Controlling the sub with 60hz on the eq is hardly a fix as it is just lowering 60hz over all the channels . It would benefit to be able to adjust the sub volume as it seems to be louder than it should be. I am in contact with dasaita so will see what they say.

Hi
So I have a PX6 from navifly or whatever. Anyway had probs as well, went to a place called audiocity and now it works because(still cant control the sub punch but at least now it does punch) the wiring for the amp behind the radio was wrong. The amp gets its signal from the front speakers and behind the radio the driver side front speaker wiring was wrong. Its supposed to be both the same +/- but one speaker was the other way around and the signals were working against each other rather than working together. I think now you guys mby can try to find that. Now the punch was real gooooooood.
If needed I can do few pics or a video about this.
I cant control the sub that much but I can control the bass still. So it is punching good.
Hi, if it's not a strech for you I would really appreciate some details about this.
My problem is that balance does not work (if I put 100% on rear the volume goes to 0) and most annoying probleme is that I have a bass delay, which means that when the bass should kick in it actually fades in from 0 to whatever...and it takes like 5 seconds to be at the volume it's supposed to be. This i annoying because it does not only happen at the start of the song, but also on the entire track. From factory settings I chose the sound option without amplifier because the other two options (with amplifier and auto detect) don't care about amplifier settings after restart, so choosing a customized present (or rock, classical etc) does not make any sound changes. Any ideas?
Hi.
I recently bought an MTCE PX5 based head unit for my french Peugeot 308 (2009).
The manufacturer seems to be Klyde as the version number (MTCE_KLD_V2.88b_1) says.
The installation in the car was pretty easy and plug & play thanks to your help on the main PX5 thread.
Still I have a few questions that you might have answers for
First, the head unit sounds pretty crappy.
My previous Parrot Aseroid Smart (slowish Android 2.3 / 512 MB) had a way much better sound output quality.
I will try to flash one of Cs-x's sound patchs, see if it goes better with that update.
The main problem comes from a lot of noises I get from the head unit "gzzzz" "pshhhh", it reminds me of the good old times with the computers ****ty front panel audio
When I call someone, they barelly hear me. Have you guys been experiencing such noises ?
--> Fixed by flashing one of Cs-x's patched firmwares
Then there are my rear sensors.
They are successfully detected and provided to the head unit by the CANBUS decoder provided by the seller, but they don't beep !
The seller didn't provide the amplified external speaker needed so I must do it the DIY way...
I managed to solder RCA connectors to that audio signal and I can hear the beeps when I switch for AV1 on the unit : good... but my back camera is connected to the CAM1 input wich is automatically displayed when I engage the reverse gear.
Is there a way to ask my head unit to switch to AV1 instead of CAM input when I engage reverse ?
That would be perfect as I will get the video from the back camera AND the audio from the sensors !
An other issue : my car's service counter is going crazy !
As I drove a few meters, the service counter droped near a thousand kilometers since next service.
This will result in service light flashing in a few days, for at least 12 month until my next real service :
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Damien
Ok guys, I managed to fix my first issue simplt by flashing one of those Cs-x sound patched firmwares !
Thanks for that !
Any advice for getting sound & video for ma rear sensors & camera ?
Bump, any idea ?
I got an other big issue with my canbus decoder...
See first post (photos), my service odometer seems to freak out a bit
Interesting as I just looked at this company for one for my Mazda CX7..
Just sent them an email on it..
Want the 4meg 32g version..
Seems also while they work with the Bose system already the reverse cam that comes with the car may not work.. need to confirm..
Hi Dgcruzing
Did you have any response from Belsee ?
Usually they answer within 2 days.
Yes, they popped back an answer.
But ended up going with a Dasaita.
Seems plenty of resellers of thier unit across the usual channels.. so with luck it all goes to plan..
Rear sensors
I have a Peugeot 208 and Dasaita unit, so slightly different and this may not help. But I had issues with reverse sensors and did not realise I had to install the supplied speaker. The beeps from the reverse sensors do not come out of the main speakers in the car, only the extra speaker provided.
Thanks Downerhouse for your message.
Indeed, my unit has this connector too, but there was no speaker in shipped the box
I tried many speakers and piezzo buzzers, but none of them worked.
I managed to attach a RCA connector to this output so I could at least plug the rear sensors sound output into my AUX input... but that's really not practical...
Bump
New ideas.
I read in a french forum that I could easily modify the car's ECU so the rear parking sensors output directly through the cars COM2000 (that's the direction switch, behind the steering wheel) instead of the classical audio circuit. I will check this.
Good evening, everyone. I have a Golf 7 GTD and i'm pretty undecided between this unit
(they recommended it to me) and this one
. Both of them have MTCE type MCUs. Looks to me like the dasaita has better chips. Which of the two has better audio in radio, Bluetooth and general functionality. Why does dasaita cost so much more? Thanks in advance!
Both! Unless you know the mcu/manufacturer
Hello folks,
I have a PX6 unit with Android 10 in a VW T5 Multivan, 2007.
Everything except the FM radio worked fine for a few months (very bad reception) but I was happy because I only use navigation and sound over bluetooth from my phone.
One day I got some noice from the speakers as a small warning before a big BOOOM a few seconds later. It is a really loud "discharge" from the speakers and obviously not good for the unit. Feels like a mini thunderstorm inside my car The head unit goes back to normal after the big bang but the noice starts building up again and a few minutes later, the same thing.
After the third BOOOM the amplifier broke and I could no longer hear any sound from apps and bluetooth (FM radio was still working)
I contacted the seller and he sent me a new amplifier. Hard work for me, but I desoldered the old one and replaced it. It worked and I was back to normal for a while.
Today, the big BOOOOM was back.
Any idea what can cause this behavior and how to solve it before I burn my second amp?
TIA,
David

Ooops. I remember incorrectly after I double checked. It is an MTCE unit. Which forum is the best for my question?

You're in the correct forum.
Check speakers / wiring and speaker impedance. If unsure seek advice from reputable local installer
