Zenfone 2 z00a stuck in fastboot mode, will not boot up - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok guys please help. I got this phone today and after playing around trying to install Lineage 14.1, i am stuck in fastboot. Recovery mode will not open, it just goes back to fastboot. Same thing happens when I attempt to do a normal boot, or turn off and on again. The phone is not rooted, and I have reflashed the custom recovery after failing to install lineage. It was bootloader unlocked but I think that was undone when I flashed an update to the device. I don't need help with lineage installation, I've decided its not worth the hassle but please help me get my phone to boot. Thankyou.

Get the latest raw image and the asus flash tool. Use the tool to flash the raw image in fastboot. You'll be back to factory.

Information that may help us help you:
Can you boot into anything? (recovery, bootloader, download - try powering off the device and powering on using PWR+VOLDWN)
What was your original SKU?
What was your OS version before you attempted to flash this latest time?

Hi,
Yes I can boot into bootloader and download but cant boot into twrp as I said but if I flash stock recovery I can boot into that. My os version was 4.14.401.7 so I think I know what the problem was. I didnt update the firmware . Sorry im new to all this. I decided to lock my bootloader and flash the stock rom and firmware and everything but for some reason, the bootloader wont relock. I send the command fastboot oem lock and it says OKAY but I boot back into bootloader and it says unlocked.
Please I need help!!!
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jev

it hapen when i exedantly press the istall update of the ota (i had OxygenOS 4.0 and i perss on the update of 4.0.3)
You should never install an update through the phone's update setting while using a custom recovery. The updates are designed to work with the stock recovery only.
If you can still boot into and use TWRP, use it to flash the full ROM of OOS 4.0.3.
If you can't boot into TWRP, try to see if fastboot works and manually sideload a working ROM in.
Otherwise, you're going to have to use the unbrick guide. Your phone doesn't have to be completely bricked to use it. It simply reverts the phone to a truly factory-fresh state (relocks bootloader, wipes everything, etc. - At least method 2 does anyways).
I got stuck in the same situation some time ago, and in order to solve it I had to flash the stock recovery, let it restart, it tried to update (and failed) and then it booted to system again. Hopefully that way you can avoid installing everything again. Once the device boots you can try to update with the stock recovery and revert to twrp if you want.

Black screen while loading into recovery

I had a ResurrectionRemix ROM running on my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. I wanted to install the Marshmallow update of the stock rom, so I downloaded it from Asus' site and tried flashing it. However, something went wrong, so I ended up re-flashing my ResurrectionRemix ROM.
The phone booted properly and worked pretty well, but there was no play store so I had to go to recovery and flash gapps. When I tried to boot into recovery, all I got is a black screen. I know for a fact that while the black screen is on, TWRP loads and the phone goes into a bootloop because it keeps vibrating (the kind of vibrate that a phone does when you start it) every few minutes. Do you know how I can fix this?
Also, when the phone is booting, I no longer get the white splash screen which indicates an unlocked bootloader. I simply get a blurred screen, followed by RessurectionRemix's logo. The Asus logo never shows up for some reason.
First of all, you need to reflash the stock recovery in order to flash a stock rom. Stock does not need gapps. To revive your device, reflash twrp thru adb, boot to twrp, do a full wipe then reflash resurrection remix
Sent from my Zenfone Max on AEX 7.1.2

Well you see the thing is, in order to flash twrp again, I'll need to boot into the bootloader using adb. But I can't.
The phone boots normally and works just fine, but it neither enters into recovery mode, nor into bootloader mode. All I get is a black screen when I try to boot into either of them.
Any help would be highly appreciated

Flashed a Boot.img

I was in twrp flashing files when I accidentally flashed a boot img. My phone was wiped and I proceeded to install lineage os because once the system would boot I would have no mobile data. Now I'm on lineage but every time I install the Sim card the phone freezes and restarts endlessly until I remove it.
I don't know how to fix this lol. Please help

Can you get back into adb/fastboot? If so lets fix your phone. DM me directly and after we've fixed your problem I'll post it here to help others and not just make this thread longer and longer.

I fixed it with a stock flash all. I still can't get lineageos to work. When I do I it through twrp it resets the boot loader and won't boot past fast boot. I can't get sideload to stay connected to flash otherwise.
I had to unzip the flashall into the folder itself was my issue

That's the one that I found and got it fixed using msmtool and got TMobile stock firmware and then used msm tool again to flash to eu and unlock the boot loader. So Im getting way more comfortable with msm tool.
