Hey Guys!
I have a problem with my GT-I9195. I bougth it from second hand because my last phone's MB has died.
My battery was fine if charged over 30-35%, but nearly that point it drops by 1% every 4-5 seconds.
I bought a new battery because I thought it's just simply the battery. No. The problem persists.
With another charger, it persists too. I have stock rom, rooted and installed TWRP.
Mainly using root just to integrate system apps' updates.
I went to a service guy, who said it can be a processor problem, since the processor controls the charging.
My thoughts are the following after reading n+1 topics on xda about this:
Clean fresh stock ROM install - I don't think it will help me out.
Custom ROM - I think it will be worse.
Custom (maybe just fixed) kernel - ??? (I think could be viable.)
Changing mainboard, because processor controls charing and it may be failing. - I dont think so......
Changing this part in the phone:
Picture
Any suggestions, please?
Thanks in advance!
I have the same problem ... except that the battery will drop really quick when it hits 15% and die within a few minutes. As long as I keep the battery charged above 15%, all is fine.
I have tried the following:
1. "Re-calibrating" the battery - Let battery fully discharge till phone shuts off. Then charge till full, and restart phone. Rationale for this is that the phone may have an incorrect battery stats file, and thought the battery has more charge than actual, so even if the phone said battery is 15% (or whatever), the battery is actually dead.
This did not help me.
2. Install "Better Battery Stat" app, and monitor battery usage, in case a bad app is draining the battery. I did not detect any abnormal battery usage .
3. Clean install ROM. I was on stock, and I installed CM13. This did not solved the battery dying at 15% problem, but extended my phone's battery life. (I can routinely run 36 hrs or so with light usage before hitting 15%.) I presume this is due to getting rid of all the Samsung bloat ware. <Or maybe there was a bad app in the prev installation.>
I am now on Lineage 14.1 (Android 7.1.1). This ROM gives me ~10% improvement on battery life (compared to CM13), which I presume is due to improved Doze mode.
ATM I am getting good enough battery life out of the phone (~3 hr total screen on time, and up to 2 days of light/ mod use), so I have not pursue this further. I am simply treating this as phone not reading battery level properly and work around the limitations.
If you haven't, I would try the re-calibration trick. Didn't work for me, but may work for you. I have good luck going with custom rom (Lineage 14.1 by Arco is what I would suggest.) It extended the battery life of the phone to the point that I don't mind losing 15% capacity. <Might not work for you at 30% ....> I have seen some custom kernels that are supposed to give you faster charging (presumably by altering the charge rate algorithm). I don't think this would help as the problem appears to be problem of phone battery discharge / or the phone reading battery level correctly. <And messing with the charging algorithm is likely going to shorten battery longevity.>
Good luck. If you find a solution, please share!

I think most likely is that both your batteries are old, as the sudden drop is typical of old batteries. Even though you got a new one there are lots of dodgy batteries, according to many sources, sold on ebay etc so I suspect you have one got a bad one.

I tried to install that. Cannot work out to install gapps micro. Tried to zip-install LineAge, then install WebView choose Google WebView int the developer settings, then zip-install gapps micro. It always says setup wizard keeps closing, or something like that... :/ Have you got a solution for that?

I did a clean install using TWRP recovery. I downloaded the zip files for Lineage (from xda thread) , and OpenGapps (ARM, 7.1, micro) from http://opengapps.org/ (both to my SD card). From TWRP, I did a factory reset, then the install option. I selected both the files and hit (swipe) install. Worked like a charm. <Also did aroma as well, and that worked too.>
You are supposed to be able to first install the ram, then install OpenGapps at a later date. However, I had problem with the 2 step approach with my HTC One, so always installed both zips together since.
Hello guys!
The battery drop problem is a common failure with this i9195 phone. I did a research but you have to help me as well by providing IMEI S/N (located under the battery) in PM to me!
New battery doesn't helps!
My current research: If your phone made in Vietnam in the 1-line ~2013, then you will have a dead motherboard soon, before that battery issue is occuring.
So please give me your details and I will look after it.
Do anyone know when they stopped producing i9195 and i9195i ? I need to buy the latest version, because my i9195 was made in 2013 and have that battery drain issue even with new batteries...
Thanks.

Good, should be OK then, but keep in mind it's quite possible fake Samsung branded or genuine Samsung batteries that have been "reconditioned" find their way into shops.

Very interesting! I've thought for a long time there must be a bad batch that had a memory problem given the number of bricks on the S4 Mini thread. Though I did wonder if it was more likely the actual memory chip.
I've not seen anyone link the battery issue with the memory problem before, though it's possible, was there something that confirms this or just an educated guess? (edit: it has been suggested before that a low battery level could cause a memory corruption, though that seemed to be as the phone was shutting down not just losing charge quickly)
No, I don't know when they stopped mfg.

I think the problem could be that 2.6.x.x cannot do this.
I flashed yesterday with these TWRP 2.7.1.0, worked like a charm.
lineage-14.1-20170408-UNOFFICIAL-serranoltexx.zip
open_gapps-arm-7.1-aroma-20170409.zip

I had some problem soon: From 100%@2AM it discharged to 0%@10AM.
I did not even touched the phone... Kinda weird.

I used the latest TWRP (3.0.2.1) to flash mine.
Can't say why you have that big drain at night. Perhaps an app updating? <And after a fresh install, many app will try to sync, etc.> Had that happen to me before - app tried to update overnight and killed the phone. <Bed room have patchy internet, and the constant reconnecting of a shaky internet signal drains the battery fast on my phone. <Now, I only allow update when phone is plugged in.>

that screen shot suggests it must be an app as 63% is very high if the phone was not used overnight, also if that was over night while you were sleeping then screen on time is high also. I would use apps to investigate wake locks and an app that shows cpu use for the app (unless your battery app shows each app)
But I still think there is something amiss with your battery as it shouldn't shut down suddenly from over 30% even using power at that rate with a good battery

You also may to try to download 'Repair battery life' from Play Store and it is free... After fully charged battery you may try also to calibrate your battery if you your phone is rooted and there are also few free calibrating apps on the Play Store with instructions how to do it...

UPDATE #4:
I thought I have solved, but right now I just got a process GSM0710MUXD using about 25% of my battery in one hour, locking the processor in 100% for more than 50 minutes. This process is responsible for controlling the access do GSM radio.
A reboot solved the problem, but, it is the second time it happened, so, could this be the problem?
Some people might have this and not even know about it and think that a low battery life is normal with this phone, which is not.

UPDATE #2:
I must say that I solved the problem, with a hard and long way to get there.
The problem was with all the OTA updates from HTC. With several reflashes of RUU in some special sequence I could solve it.
See the sequence and problem solved here, with pics to prove.
END UPDATE #2
UPDATE: Just to be clear, I'm still having a horrible battery life, even after using a working battery monitoring program.
All below values are with screen OFF except when advised.
I have seen that with everything ON except DATA (wifi and 3g off) it consumes about 4mAh, which is very good, on par with my HD2. With 3g ON it consumes about 12-16 mAh, which is very bad and with wi-fi ON it consumes 20-25 mAh, which is outrageously bad. In idle this should not be the case. Apparently no other programs are getting anything from the net.
My HD2 with ICS or GB gets by a full day usage (1250mAh battery) with wi-fi and 3g radios ON full time and several things syncing at the same time all the time with push notifications. Twitter, facebook, whatsapp, gmail, normal mail, everything else in two google accounts. So I don't see why a 2,5 years newer phone shouldn't do it. HD2 usage with everything ON except wifi is about 2-5mAh and with wifi on (always) it is about 8-12mAh.
So, one part is fixed (the current widget) but the other is still bad, so I'll keep the thread open.
Programs used, Battery Monitor Widget, BetterBatteryStats, Control Panel.
If someone can help, it will be much appreciated.
Greetings, Santroph.
END UPDATE
I'm having a huge problem with battery life in my HOX.
I'm NOT a noobie in Android or using custom ROMs or anything like this, after all I do have an HTC HD2 with Android since the early Cupcake days
I'm new to HOX but I have searched everywhere before coming here to get help from u guys.
It's a HUGE (never seen this before) batt drain, something like 200 - 700mAh in idle, screen off. (Current widget was used to measure it)
I do have some proof below.
Some of the things I have done:
Besides knowing all of the steps from here, I have done it all gain anyway. I'm having the same draw 200-700 from my phone with everything, EVERYTHING off, sensors, connections, sync and all off.
I have tried Revolution HD 5.1.1 and 6.0.0, Leedroid 6.2.0, which seems to be good roms from the feedback. The result is the same with all of them, and the same thing with Stock RUU 1.29.401.7
I have cleaned everything before installing the roms (system/data/cache/dalvik/battery stats).
Well, any suggestions? I can't reallt return the phone because I do live in Brazil and bought it in a trip in USA, it is a UK unlocked grey model. And the phone is not sold in Brazil yet, so I will try anything that can be done without returning it.
The next pic show what is happening in Airplane mode, every radio off, and after killing everything running. I still have HUGE Drain besides entering in deep sleep and nothing running

No one has ever told me that before, and it is even used in the thread for better battery life in HTC One X.
So, I assumed it was working fine. I use it for a long time, since it was launched.
Do you know any other app that does something like it, logs the drain, that work?
Thanks.

NB:
- NOT all phones report accurate mA - Check app web-site for more information
- The app displays the % remaining, voltage and temperature data reported by Android OS
- HTC One X reports incorrect mA during standby, use mA corrections for better results
- Android battery stats have nothing to do with % calculations
Well at least this one says right upfront the problem, but what should be the mA corrections? Do we need to do some cal or is it just a checkbox? (I will install it right now of course, to find out)
Thanks, can't thank you in the button, it doesn't appear.
UPDATE: It is an option in the settings, correct mA report, and there we can choose HTC One X
If it is really as good as it looks to be, I'll buy the PRO version, thanks for the tip.

The updated versions already support the One X, been using it for weeks and idle drain reporting is working just fine The change log on the Play website and the change log on the Play app are different somehow. On the app it says it's fixed, and I can see proper drain on standby.
Do you have huge battery drain or just an app that reports huge battery drain?
I noticed you didn't mention that the phone doesn't last long.
At 200-700mA drain, your 1850mAh battery would last 2.5 to 9 hours on standby.
You could also install Better Battery Stats (free for XDA users) and see what is causing the battery drain.

No, I have the drain, AND the app was not reporting good things too...
My battery today lasted only 5 hours.
I had only 2 hours of screen ON and also only 5 minutes in a game, the rest was normal/light use, like web surfing and facebook. NO heavy use like watching movies.
So, it is a lousy battery life, my HD2 does last way longer with a worse battery. Sure I do have a worse screen in there too, but this shouldn't be that bad.

do a full factory restore and only setup bare minimum apps to be sure you haven't gotten a rogue process/app
if that doesn't work return it pronto
i used to have huge drain from either goole maps, latitude or navigation after installing it from the forum which enables it for everyone (outside us) uninstalled it and it got fixed. if u have drain while the phone is idle it is an app issue, try factory reset, install one app at a time and see which one causes it.

Some apps e.g games like draw something.. have push notifications running at background.
The latest version of facebook drains battery like crazy.
There's a need to monitor what is installed in the phone. Especially apps that require to run background services and push notifications (Those apps drain battery life )

You both clearly have a problem. If you look at the battery stats graph, is it always awake? If so, you have an app that is preventing it from sleeping and need to find it.
Post this screen, as you can see, Awake and Screen on should, essentially, be the same.
Isles should be less than 20ma .

Don't worry, nothing it keeping my phone awake.
With the new app for monitoring the phone mAh usage I can see that it is using about 16 to 25 mAh in idle (too much for my taste, used to be 3 - 5 in HD2) but not that bad.
But the thing is, just wake up the phone and than BAM, 500-900 usage, WITH THE SCREEN BACKLIGHT SET TO MINIMUM
As u can see in one of the pics the phone looses 3% in just 3 minutes. So it can only be awake for 1 hour? common...
I'll install a process monitoring app, but I don't have that much hope...
Several pictures for your delight of my problem
Please help :|
My HOX lasted 25 hours the day before the latest FW Update. Today it was on 9% after 10 hours and the stats told me that the screen was on for 7 hours. The screen was off and the phone was in airplane mode over night and drained over 60% of battery live.
As far as I could tell, the WiFi is consuming too much of the battery. I don't know why but yesterday my WiFi turned off during the night (even if set to never turn off in the settings) and the drain got from 25mAh in idle to 4 mAh when just using 3g.
After waking WiFi again the drain got back to 22.
Can anyone confirm?

Hello. How is official ics(4.0.4? on the nitro hd? Is it better than gingerbread in performance, does it have better benchmark results than gb,better battery, is video playback smooth, is the browser and gaming smooth? Would anyone want to go back to GB?BTW if i update does it have any result on the screen?Asking cause im not sure to update. Thx for the answers.
I'm sure no one would go back to gingerbread here, benchmarks don't really matter. Stock ics is super smooth. I just don't use it because atm there are better roms available like hono full throttle and cm10 preview.

features vs battery life
I would go back. I can't stand half time of battery life regardless of all ICS features. I already got "double capacity" battery from Amazon, but still it's far from GB longevity on stock battery. There are other ROMs, but you need to root the phone and install some kind of CPU Sleeper app. In my case Android OS consumes 40% of the juice and is awake most of time. In GB the major consumer was the screen and I can afford it because the screen is nice . Here in ICS they fixed it by worsening Android OS power consumption Not good improvement at all.

I don't know how you guys are getting bad battery life with the official ICS.
I've been averaging 15 hours of battery life on the official release with pretty heavy use throughout the day... I can provide a screen shot of my battery use screen if desired.
I'm also using the stock LG 1800 mAh battery, and not an extended battery.

Wow you might want to see what is causing that under GB I could never go all day on the HC battery let alone stock the ONLY thing I have found better was CM9 stable but not by much. I had a chat with AT&T support and folowed their instruction: Do factory reset, DO NOT RESTORE ALL APPS, only restore/update preinstalled apps, install/restore other apps one by one to find "incompatible" apps.
During first 6 hours after reset with only preinstalled apps it was ok. Then I reinstalled Yahoo Mail to sync address book. It also was ok. Then in 3 hours I installed WhatsApp and that was not soo good. Going to stop it and check if it is the problem. May be uninstall is better. Not sure yet. :fingers-crossed:
Also I'll put back stock battery just to do not compare apples to oranges

As of right now, I would gladly go back. I have an extended battery. Before the update, I regularly got 1½ - 2 full days with moderate to heavy use. No longer. Last night I unplugged my phone at 2 am with 100% charge. Eleven hours later, it sits at 23% with no usage other than 2 short phone calls, 4 or 5 texts, and no gameplay or other usage. Factory reset or no, this is just plain pathetic. I'm pretty confident that if I had the stock battery in right now, I would be lucky to get 3 hours out of it before having to charge.
I have also had issues with lagging, especially while typing text. And finally, my touchscreen seems to be...."off." Touches no longer register completely accurately. Seems to affect the right half of the screen more than the left.

Something must have gone very wrong with your installation of the V20C official ICS.
Not only have I had no problems with my installation, but I also get much better battery life on rooted V20C ICS than on CM9.
Here is my battery usage so far today, on the stock LG 1800 mAh battery (not the 3800 mAh battery).

Your phone is probably staying awake 100%. I had the same problem with the official ICS firmware. I tried installing it thought the official installer and using the flashable version through CWM. Factory reset and froze all the bloatware. Same problem with both of them. Phone stays awake almost all the time and hardly ever goes to sleep. I went back to CM9.

Well now I have new problems. Did a factory reset, and now every time I unplug the charger (car OR wall), the phone immediately shuts off. Juuuuuuust great. I wish I had NEVER done the upgrade. Shame on me for not waiting and reading about others' troubles first.
I've had no problems. Battery life is way better (hyperion 3800mah). Super smooth and definitely the best launcher out there. Sucks that telus deleted the themes though.

You might want to try forceably reflashing the ICS update. Perhaps something got corrupted the first time around or something, I don't know. To do it, you would have to follow the directions from the unbricking guide except use the Telus KDZ from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838346 . Consider using a different USB cable if you have one just to rule out the possibility of a problematic cable that caused the flashing to get corrupted.
Unfortunately I have no idea why you would be experiencing the problems you're having.

OK. Thanks for that info. The factory reset has definitely left me with serious charging issues. Left the phone charging all night, and it only charged to 56%! That was with a solid 8 hours plugged in with the factory cable/plug.
Is there a particular reason I need to use that specific Telus KDZ? Just curious.

That KDZ is Telus's version of ICS. It's the same file that automatically gets downloaded by LG's updater tool if you use it normally. The problem is that LG in their infinite wisdom won't let you reinstall ICS because "there is no update available". The unbricking guide basically tricks the updater into applying the update anyway, but you have to manually download the KDZ you want to install.
You don't HAVE to install that one. You could also install Bell's or AT&T's ICS if you wanted to try it. But I don't think there's a good way to get back to Telus Gingerbead unless someone has a backup of it they can post. You could install a custom ROM though.
BTW, is it possible the problem is actually with the battery itself and it's just a coincidence? Are you using an OEM battery?

Didn't really want to go the custom ROM route with this phone...but I might. I'm on at&t FWIW, but I'm not opposed to another company's ROM. I do like several of the unlocking features and other visual tweaks of LG's ICS, but I don't know how the custom ROMs would compare in that regard.

Anything is possible, but it seems like too much of a coincidence. I'm using a QCell extended battery. It's maybe six months old at the most. With GB I regularly got 2 days on a charge with fairly heavy usage. Immediately upon updating to ICS, battery life dropped to roughly 16 hours. I didn't do the factory reset for roughly one week after updating, as I <stupidly> did not do any research before the update. Immediately after the reset my battery issues compounded with the slow/no charge and shut down on power cord unplug / reboot on power cord plug in. Sadly, my stock battery is 630 miles away. So I have no way of eliminating the battery as being the issue.
Hi! Guys, Well I bought my Note 2 in November 2012 with Multi Window update already Installed. Everything was So smooth and awesome until the Christmas update in India. My battery started draining comparatively fast but still not a huge change. But handset became little slow. That I consider Negligible. But then come the Jan update which I feel was quickly done to rectify that "root permission by default issue" like in S3. And after that am facing Issues like fast battery drain like previously when I used to sleep my battery drop by 1% only but for same amount of time when I check on waking up it had gone down by 7-8% and haven't installed any new apps so far.
But the biggest issue I face is that Note 2 won't charge sometimes then I have to restart my mobile and then it charges again and it happens quite often. Like I will face this 3-4 times in between 10 cycles of charging.
My Note 2 is not rooted for now.
Also a issue I have noticed that sometimes my camera images becomes corrupt on its own. This happened only 2 times though.
So, guys do share your advice/views on this.
Thanks
Also I have noticed that some times blue led blinks on its own. without any notification. And Smart alert doesn't go off, faced this rarely though.

You can TRY flash the latest FIRMWARE using ODIN... I'm not sure whether it will solve the battery drain issue but you cab try, but I personally think it's not too big difference...
For the battery drain issue, here is my suggestions:
1. Flash CUSTOM KERNEL, do undervolting your device, which I believe will significantly reduce the power usage...
2. Try use ONE POWER GUARD apk, I optimize the kernel and CPU, and other stuffs (Wi-Fi, 3G...) It's available in Google Play.
3. (I think you really need this if your battery is behaving as you mentioned) Do battery calibration, download BATTERY CALIBRATION in Google Play, charge your phone to 100%, open the app and tap BATTERY CALIBRATION. After that drain your battery until it switch off automatically, and charge your phone to 100% again in off mode...
And I'm so sorry to tell you that you need ROOT access then you only can try these solutions...
I also had battery drain issue before, but I found out that if you use all my suggestions, the battery life does INCREASE!
I flashed Perseus Kernel and undervolted my device using SET CPU... Battery drains about 6-8% in an hour with my Wi-Fi ON, Auto Brightness, and without turning off the screen to surf the WEB!
After that, I found out that my battery also drains about 7-10% after a whole night deep sleep, when I wake up in the morning.
I found the second solution, which is using the ONE POWER GUARD. Now, the battery life IMPROVES EVEN MORE! Now when I wake up to check my device, a whole night sleep is just draining 2-3% the most!
Thirdly, I accidentally found the Battery Calibration app in the Google Play...
I tried that but no difference, since you only need to use it when your battery starts to have problem (Others comment)
You can try this, I saw many good feetbacks from many users that it helps...
Now, I open my Wi-Fi all the time with Auto Brightness. I enjoy my music, video, web ever day. I finished charge my phone in 9 am yesterday, and now, I still have 51% to use XDA app to write this post Amazing isn't it!
ROOT YOUR PHONE, IT DEFINITELY WORTH TO SAVE YOUR BATTERY BY USING THESE SOLUTIONS... (My Opinion)
TRY THEM OUT BRO! GOOD LUCK

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. Will definitely gonna try these. And will surely root my phone once I get proper time to perform this ..
Yep I also think that these are cause of new kernel which samsung released hurriedly.
Will Contact Samsung and see what they gonna say.
And I checked my battery drain today with wifi & 3g off, Screen rotation off, sync disabled, location disabled,All motion disabled, pen detection battery save on but still ate my 5% of battery that too in sleep mode. Samsung's New updates have lot of bugs.
will root my mobile and will see how it performs. Thanks again for your valuable suggestion.
Ps;- I have also added some forgotten issues in my original post.

A lot of people complain of battery drain with their latest updates. I'm personally not too happy with it, but my device still lasts a whole day. I'll give Samsung another update to fix the issue. If they don't, I'm going back to 4.1.1 because I never had any issues there.
I've done a hard reset and nothing. Next time I'll try clearing all data and everything off of my storage and we'll see. Hopefully Samsung will fix this.

Indeed Samsung's new update has numerous bugs, hope they will fix it soon. 4.1.1 was Flawless.
And I doubt that clearing all the data will help as battery drain will be related to the new kernel and OS.
Let's see when will Samsung gonna release there new update to fix these issues.
I flashed the new MA6 French firmware, seems many MODs and Custom ROMs are released/updated based on this firmware...
I will see how it goes, I still using Perseus kernel, and ONE POWER GUARD.
So far, the results are not sure because now I have only tested it for 2 hours...
Hope it doesn't drain much battery...

It's kinna pain in the ass to see battery drops faster than the first time I used the device.
So far, those suggestions that I've provided are my "BEST" solutions. (My opinion)
I will also continue to monitor my device after flashed the new MA6 French firmware...

Same with me, it pinches me a lot to see my battery draining faster than before. And even I try to keep Hawk's eye on what's gulping my battery but so far I ll only blame it on new official samsung kernels.
But Well I guess Samsung has heard the cries of people and today I received two updates(OTA) mentioning Stability update. Hope this fixes this battery drain and other bugs. Also, now they included Google Play Music App in the update.
And after 4 hours of the update, battery life, I feel that it still draining quite fast but will test it in 2-3 days to be sure. Will update after few days of usage.
And thanks again for taking time to share your suggestions
Looks like the update was kinda dissapointed... It is quite battery draining after a day...
But I did try battery calibration as my solution, looks like is kinna sweet.
I charged my phone until 100% full this morning 11am and did battery calibration, now I still have 72% after listening music, surfing facebook, instagram, and twitter, with Wi-Fi on all the time and Auto Brightness on...
Anyone tried anything else?

Im about to open thread but I saw yours so I decided to put my own issue.
I just upgraded my sofware from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 France rom. Factory wipe before and after upgrade and first thing noted battery drain. I would specifically note SCREEN ON is eating my battery. 19 hours max i could get which comparing to old rom was day and half with exact same apps and settings.Who faced the same thing and who managed to resolve it?

Yep new updates doesn't resolve battery drain issue very much but its still better than before. During my sleep for around 8 hours, battery drain was just 2%, I was so happy but during normal usage, I still feel battery drain is little on higher side. I guess new updates do increase standby time but while on load it just doesn't performs like it used to be on 4.1.1.
That's sweet, you manage to get a lot of juice by those calibration. Currently Charging my phone and will see how it performs after a full charge cycle.

Well, 4.1.2 do drains a lot of juice from battery when compared to 4.1.1. Almost every Note2 has been plagued with this after updating to 4.1.2. That's kinda shame for Samsung that their new updates are battery juice guzzler.
And to resolve this battery drain issue you can wait for samsung to fix this in new updates or you can root and then install custom kernels and roms. And also please go through takumibunta's posts above, He shared very nice points to resolve battery drain issue.
have any of the ones who updated checked for sensors of movement and like that? i updated to avoid the SDS but after the first day I noticed that my phone was draining faster. I checked some things and some of them have been changed with the update (movement sensors is the only one that i can remember now) and now it last the same than before with some apps more such as xda app which it is said that drains also some battery
Hope it was just that the issue good luck!

Hi bro, I did some research before. 8 out of 10 people suggested do a battery calibration after flashing a new ROM. Well I tried and I think the results are good. I upgraded/flashed my firmwares four times since my first purchase. And I noticed it ate my battery when I flash a new firmware.
I did a battery calibration, it managed to hold more than 24 hours. I'm sorry I can't share my battery stats now because I just did calibration again to monitor my battery again so that I can ensure the accurate and 'real' result.
I'll keep you posted, let's see how the device go. Anyway, I still using a custom Kernel, did under-volt and using the ONE POWER GUARD app...
And 1 question, is your phone using all stock settings, ROM, and KERNEL??

Oh yeah I almost forgot to share with you guys.
I found an app called Android Tweaker. It is free from market. But I managed to get a PRO versions which contains full functions.
For details just refer the Google Play's descriptions...
Back to topic, I used this app to do some tweaks on the battery section which are increasing the Wi-Fi scan interval and Increase Deep Sleep Battery Life...
I will see is it able to push my battery saving 'limit' even LOWER. Now I'm still charging my phone. I will wipe my battery stats and monitor again... It takes time, and I hope it will show more significant result of maintaining battery life.
Try this app with CAUTION! It might cause BOOTLOOP or get STUCK at Samsung logo!
DO A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE USING THIS APP! JUST IN CASE. I HAVE WARNED YOU ALL...
See you guys soon...

Lets first all agree in one thing to narrow down the source of the drainage. Is it the SCREEN ON is the eating your battery?
To answer your question im in stock rom and stock kernal with cf root only.
I know there are methods by using custom kernals and undervolting and supported apps.
Honestly I prefer to stable my stock rom and kernal battery usage first to last my battery more than 24 hours. So basically I like to work on stock because the majorty of the phones users are stock.
One thing I can try is battery calibration. Can you tell me the process?

Ok.
There is 2 options for your case.
Since you are using stock ROM & KERNEL, with ROOT access,
First option, I suggest you to use the ONE POWER GUARD app... The latest version is stable and there is a battery calibration function in the options.
Second option, download 'battery calibration' in the Google Play. Just for simple battery calibration only...
I STILL RECOMMEND ONE POWER GUARD. IT CAN OPTIMIZE YOUR KERNEL, ROM, WI-FI, 3G AND I/O SCHEDULER SO THAT TO MAINTAIN BATTERY LIFE. IT'S A NICE TRY.
Here is the step (The developer recommend us to follow these steps but not necessary)
THE FIRST AND SECOND STEP IS THE BATTERY CALIBRATION PROCESS
1. CHARGE your phone to 100%
2. Click on battery calibration button first (battery calibration app or ONE POWER GUARD app), then only plug off your charger.
THE THIRD AND FORTH STEP ARE NOT NECESSARY TO PERFORM, I TRIED AND I SUGGEST YOU TO DO THESE AS THEY CAN ASSURE YOUR BATTERY ACHIEVES THE MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE.
3. Drain your battery until it shut off completely, until you cannot switch on your phone...
4. CHARGE your phone again until full, without switching on your phone...
(Some people recommend to charge 4/5 hours to 'heat' the battery chemicals, I just forward their messages, I am not understand why to do that)
SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH AND I HOPE YOU SATISFY MY REPLY...

You are welcome. I understand how it feels when your battery is draining like hell. I will also try new things. Who knows? Maybe will find out something interesting
I am now trying the new app called Android Tweaker. So far, after my device is fully charged, I 'Skype' with my friends about 1 and a half hour, using XDA app about 1 hour, 'whatsapping' and watching music videos. They drained about 21% of battery in 5 hours. Unfortunately I rebooted my device to flash something and my battery stats had reset, it became inaccurate.
Looks like I have to wait until next round fully charge then I can make sure is the Android Tweaker helps me to reduce more battery usage.
But so far, I deep sleep my device about
6 hour. And I made several calls about 30 mins of total time. And I did set an alarm, I was too tired and I didn't hear it. The music was replaying about 30min Haha so embarrassing Now I still have 53% battery and I completed my charge at 2am in the morning.
According to my rough calculation, I have used my note 2 more than 11 hours (Including all the activities I mentioned above, and deep sleep time) ADD: Wi-Fi on all the time, motion on, and auto brightness on.
Looks like quite OK for me. But I still want to take a few days to observe few times so that I can provide a more accurate result to you all.
THANKS FOR YOUR APPRECIATION AND I WILL DO MY BEST. I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED BRO.

Hello!
On a site of the producer of Samsung http://www.samsung.com/ru/support/model/GT-I9192ZWASER-techspecs it is possible to notice, various modes of time of autonomous operation of the device in which the following is declared:
Conversation time: till 12 o'clock (W-CDMA)
Waiting time: till 300 o'clock (W-CDMA)
Especially impresses a waiting time of 300 hours while at me reaches 18-20% of the category at night.
Whether it is possible to learn somewhere phone settings with which measurements were made? What has to be included - is disconnected-is started that I could check declared operating time of the device at home independently?
How in the certified service center there is a battery phone check on the subject "the battery is quickly discharged" what they conditions create or the equipment is special for check?
I will speak to them that the battery is quickly discharged, they will declare that all within norm how me to find truth and to show Samsung corporations that there are mistakes in phone or the software?
Yours faithfully Maxim.

Well I'm glad to find I'm not the only one to face that hungryness of battery for that so small phone.
It's completly insane, last night I was having 28% battrey and after 8 hours phone off.
And i'm syncing my mail only every 2 hours
Wtf with that phone.
The tools included in the OS will not help you that much, in my case it doesn't.

It is no use.
I tried everything with this phone.
Tried different ROM and kernels and everything.
The phone has manufacturing defect.
Battery drain stops only if you turn on "Airplane Mode" or turn off the "SIM 1".

I'm afraid but it is true.
I'm thinking to sell off this phone.
Use "Tasker" or any profile scheduler to toggle Airplane mode in night.
Even airplane mode is toggled for 10 minutes it slows down battery drain for next 6hours.

Hmm
Samsung could have made this phone wonderfully excellent but they didn't.
They know this problem but not fixing it.
In my case sd card was responsible for battery drain. Also try Silvian rom that has his kernel. I flashed this rom + took out the sd card and survived 36h! Battery screen shots in his kernel thread

Yesterday I figured out the real problem.
If I toggle ON/OFF Airplane mode for 1 minute the battery drain stops as long as I don't make any call or receive it.

Well I can't leave without my sdcard and it never drains battery of any of my previous phone.
And is there any custom rom for the mini s4 DUOS ? because so far I didn't find any.

Yes s4 duos is the first phone for me causing problems with sd card too! I am trying now the 4th card......let's see
Take out your sd card for one day and you'll see if it stopped drain or not.
The rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49209925&postcount=43 flash it, you won't regret.
Hi guys,
have you tried to disable the Google accounts location service?
I did it and gave me further battery life.
You can find it here:
1) go to your applications menu
2) find the Google Settings icon (it's in a grey colour)
3) Open it and click the Location
4)Disable all
done!
Ok I admit that overal the battery life is not very good, but after did the above, now is much better.
In fact I did that today and it definitely works better

The same situation. Bought a phone as a gift for my wife. She complained to the quick battery drain. I saw the graph it showed 3% per hour. Awful. Ejecting the upper sim card has completely changed the battery consumption - 0,4 - 0,8% per hour. So it is definitely the manufacture flaw...hardware or software. There are a thousand complains on this on my local forum. There is not any solution or workaround yet (when using the dual sims).
forgot to mention the issue has appeared only on 8GB version. So it must be a hardware issue.
P.S. Oops http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48743951&postcount=38
I've just realize that if I use data from second sim the battery drain is a lot less from 2-3% to 0.8% I'll do more test
Just put both SIM's in 2G only mode and you will get excellent battery life.
I know about 2g but i was on 3g in my first test, overnight with a fresh reboot, that could be the reason, yesterday i tried with no reboot for a couple of hours but someone send me a tons of pictures through whatsapp and keep my modem working, got 2.4% I'll try today

i9192 unbelievable battery drain
Is there any new solution to the problem with this phone. I recently tried to change the ROM, even though I have knox .
No my warranty is void, and the phone still has drainage.
The worst is when the battery is bellow 10%. It went from 7% to 1% and then shut down? WTF?
I even have better consumption when I am using 3G then WiFI?
Can somebody please recommend a viable solution
Thanks and BR
this the only reason am going to dump this phone in another couple of months , i have tried everything from roms to kernels but if i use both sims battery drain is 25% overnight with no network or any data connection with sim 2 slot empty battery is perfect with 4 to 3 % drain overnight under same conditions and get a good talk time and data through out the day and with sim 2 on i have to carry portable charger in my pocket !!! been to the service center 'on record' everything is fine and they can't do anything .
Hi guys,
I recently bought I9192, it's a great phone, fast, reliable, but battery life seems to be the only "problem" with this phone. I started searching the web about battery life and came across a lot of threads describing different problems. I acctualy don't have so drastic battery drain, but it seems to me that it is a bit more than it should be. I use BetterBatteryStats to monitor battry consumption, here are my results in different usage scenarios:
Overnight (idle) - 7h32m31s 43%-30% 1.7%/h - SIM1 3G network, SIM2 2G network, (Wi-Fi, GPS, mobile data and Bluetooth off)
Overnight (idle) - 6h46m12s 66%-52% 2.1%/h - SIM1 3G network, SIM2 2G network, (mobile data on; Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth off)
Overnight (idle) - 7h59m52s 45%-44% 0.1%/h - Airplane mode on
I get about 2.5%/h battery drain from phone uplugged to next charge with everyday usage, is that OK?
I also noticed that NoDataConnection and NoOrUnknownSignal always appear and count time when phone is not connected on mobile network. That is present on log files of other users posted on this thread, is that a concern or normal thing with these duos phones, since i didn't notice them on single SIM phones?
I use stock ROM 4.2.2 with I9192XXUBNC1 baseband and my RF date is 19.01.2014.
I flashed cm11.
It seems good.
But, my fire phone use 50% of battery with wifi and cell standby.
I tried to wipe and install 5 times over, but battery drains yet.
Do you have a solution with the problem?
Thank you . :crying:
Never had a battery problem with any of the builds. Going 2 - 4 days with full charge, depending on usage. I guess that's because I treat my battery like a ? .
My battery's been very efficient. In fact, right now I'm just letting cm11 handle it without greenify and amplify because I think its doing a pretty good job all by itself. Are you sure you're reading it right? 50% seems like a big number but if you're checking it right after you flash the ROM its not gonna give you really useful info. Try using something like better battery stats to give you a detailed explanation and wait a few days so you can really see what's going on. In the mean time you can look into your apps to see if any of them are waking up excessively and causing drain. Facebook used to be a killer but I can't say if that's improved because I don't have it installed right now.

I was going to save this for a few more days when the testing was complete, but I figured I can give you all a sneak peek....
I have 2 Fire phones currently running on the T-mobile network. These are my wife's and my backup phones, so I've had the luxury of doing the following:
Her Phone - FireOS 4.6.1 with Google Play and Google Play Services (and the two other needed files) installed.
My Phone - ggow's CM11 (7/25 Build) with pico GAPPS.
Phones were both charged to 100% and placed side by side with cell network and wifi on, mobile data off. No social media apps installed. Only thing syncing in the background is emails (and my wife and I receive a similar amount). Phones have been left alone with just the occasional screen on to peek at the progress.
4 days and 21 hours into the experiment, the FireOS phone is at 23% battery remaining, while the CM11 phone is at 45%. At this rate, the FireOS phone will probably conk out just short of 7 days, while the CM11 phone should last ~9 days.
ggow has given us a beautiful gift.

I've found the fire to have the best battery of any Android device I've owned and I'm still on fire os with a different launcher. I put this down to the less deep integration of gapps when sideloaded. Most wake locks seem to be Google related for me.
And the final tally....
I forgot to post the final tallys. For those interested...
Phone with FireOS gave up the ghost at 6 days 15 hours
Phone with CM11 lasted almost exactly 2 days longer at 8 days 15 hours
Granted this is with no use, but it is indicative of how much juice the core OS uses just to keep the motor running. Thanks again, ggow.

Weird. I am using mine without a sim chip, airplane mode, and getting cell standby battery drainage. Didn't even last overnight with no usage at all from 100%. That'd with airplane mode and wifi enabled, by the way. 57% cell standby. Anything to disable service wise?
Would you mind running an overnight test without a sim in it?

Aargh! So what am I doing wrong? Is it an app, perhaps, causing the phone to get activated? I'll make a new rom slot and flash it again without adding my Google account and see how that goes. Is there a way to see what apps are causing things to get activated?
Do you have just cm11 loaded, or cm11 and the minimal google apps stuff?
Thanks!
(Though honestly this is just for nerd fun - having Google apps and fireos with the now launcher pretty much meets my needs, but I gotta know! )

- You can use Betterbatterystats to see what is causing wakelocks. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
- Minimal Google Apps installed
So I created a new SafeStrap location, and loaded JUST CM11 8/10 build, and with Wifi On (or in Airplane Mode), I get about 7.5%/hr battery drain according to Betterbatterystats.
Says No Data Connection 75% and No or unknown signal 75% of the time. I'm not really educated on reading the BBS results, so anyone know of a pointer? Like 7% of the time it is at 2.15 GHz, and 91% deep sleep - that normal when it's idling?
Strange - doesn't do this in FireOS. Is this partially BECAUSE Google Apps aren't loaded just yet? My other slot has the Google Apps, and it happens as well.
Thanks!

They ain't paying attention. WHY???
Yep missed that requirement. Trying. In a non flashable state after wiping stock. Will try again tonight. Not sure why the slot would affect battery usage but I'll give it a go.
well, bang me upside the head. Hope my pain is the world's gain, but yeah, looks like if you actually follow the instructions, you don't get the battery drain. Had to wipe the stock install, then left with nothing on the device, couldn't boot, couldn't mount over USB to transfer the file, device manager was grumpy about the phone, but after sorting that out, figuring out how to adb sideload, all is working again. Whew!
Just confirming - after I deleted the weather channel app (taking 30% of the battery), I experienced about 1-2% battery drain overnight. REALLY remarkable, actually. This is without email syncing, wifi disabled on sleep, etc. Nice. Really makes the fire phone a good usable device. Or at least and ipod replacement for the kids.
