Hi all,
Have any of the Hermes Guru's out there worked out if Bluetooth and USB headsets can be used at the same time.
What I am trying to achieve is for the phone sound - ie incomming calls etc to be routed to the bluetooth pairing and for the other sounds, such as my gps, music and other sounds to continue to be routed via the mini USB port, either for headphones or lineout.
Is this possible? Would this be a registry setting? Is all sound handled in the same way, or is it possible to determine the phone sounds against all others.
Thanks in advance
Adam
does anyone have any ideas?
When in my car, I have the usb port plugged in to a 3.5 adapter and into my car stereo. I also have a BT headset turned on and on my ear. While listening to MP3s, if the phone rings, the mp3 player on the phone stops playing and it displayes the caller ID. If I push the button on the headset, I get the phone call on the BT. When I am done, the mp3 starts again through the usb.
thanks
Awesome yatrg, that was exactly what im trying to do. I can buy an aux input for my car and run it off the mini-usb to 3.5mm adaptor and can also get a parrot bluetooth to handle the phone call.
Cheers mate

hi, when i drive i listen to music through the phone using the auxiliary cable, and i have my car's bluetooth connected to the phone but when i accept calls it doesn;t go throught the bluetooth unless i select it. how do we set the bluetooth to be default even when there is something connected in the 3.5mm jack?
Hey there, I have a quick question about Bluetooth.
Here is the situation: I use a bt headset when driving every time. It's a godsend etc etc. But I also have an auxiliary port on my car's head-unit which I use to plug my phone into and stream music. I would like to minimize the amount of wires going around because sometimes I also have to plug in a usb power cable into the phone and then things get messy.
So here's my question: Can I have my bt headset paired and connected, and also get a Bluetooth audio receiver (like the official htc bt receiever: http://www.htc.com/www/accessories/htc-bluetooth-stereoclip/) and have it paired and connected at the same time. This way I can stream music but also receive calls to my headset.
Thanks

Only if the car is compatible with streaming music via Bluetooth.
Well the head-unit does not have/support Bluetooth, this much is true. However it does have an Aux port like I said, and with the device I posted (that htc bt dongle) i can plug it into the aux port and stream that way. I know this will work but I don't know if I can also still use my bt headset for phone calls at the same time.
If it matters, the headset is a Jawbone Icon.
Thanks!
no one?

Yes, you can. I use that exact setup in my Nissan Juke. You can have multiple pairings simultaneously. The music even stops when you get a call, then resumes after.
anyway i can get my BT to automatically connect to my music receiver in my car whenever it's in my car?
Bluetooth on tablet stays on but doesn't reconnect even though the receiver has power.
Odd question. I bought a vehicle that has Bluetooth but only does phone calls. I attached a Bluetooth aux device to the radio, which allows streaming music. I need to have both to allow the steering wheel bluetooth controls for voice on my phone to work and music streaming. My phone and car work great when both bluetooth devices are connected to my phone.
So now the odd question, is there any way to have the phone pair to both simultaneously? It seems once it finds my car, then it stops looking for other devices and I have to manually connect the 2nd Bluetooth device. Thanks a head of time!

mine does this just fine. i was on a road trip bluetoothing to my fm modulator and when calls came in, it muted the music and made the phone ring thru the stock phone connection hardware. are you having troubles getting this same situation going?
No, they pair just fine. I just have to manually connect the 2nd device through the phone. It won't automatically connect to both once it finds the car.
