Hey guys...
I went from the stock 4.4.4 sony firmware to the CM11 with CWM.
Everything works fine, except it looks terrible and I wanted to install all the xperia themes again...
The only thing I managed so far is to install the Z2/Z3 home apk by placing it in system folder...
Every other atempt to install apps, widgets, themes, keyboards, etc gives me "App not installed" error...
Can anyone give me some help or insight on the problem?
Best regards,
João Gomes

Unless the stock app has been specifically ported for CM it will fail to install. See the Cross Device Development Projects for Sony Devices or Themes and Apps sections for ports, if they don't exist you'll have to do without.
Thank you for the reply.
The apps/widgets/themes I'm trying to install clearly claim [CM11] support on the title and in the description.
By the way, excelent topic here:

right now im on cloudyg3 rom so i cant attach any screenshots from my phone
and about bugs when i was using the roms it was ok with my except the screen rotation it sometimes stuck
at the end its my first thread here so im a beginner
i think this isn't right place to put in development section maybe in general section. this isn't ur work just kinda like repost from G2 recruitment color os
I was thinking the same thing that's why i asked the difference. I don't have the ability to compare the 2 until tomorrow. Maybe one of the mods can look into this and decide whether or not to close the thread.

The one based on cm 10.1 is an unofficial port.. This is an official coloros coming directly from oppo
Then why can't i find it on the color os official website or find the g2 on the device list?

My apologies to android_for_all if me asking about the two roms made them upset or mad. I will admit that me jumping to conclusion was very wrong on my part. As i said in the other thread I've been a very long time member and seen us lose great people for things that i was asking about. Please accept my apology and continue the great work. Please get it working for us d801 users so we can give it a try.

Hahahahahahaha :crying:
Has anybody tried to install this on any other model of G2 than international and install a compatible kernel? Hmm, will it even install on another model?
So Color OS is now officially available for D802?
@ OP
Please provide ROM sources unless has been stolen from oppo forums where me amongst others been chosen as testers
The color of team expressly stated not to share the rom
Sent from my Darkside of LG G2

there's no way he would providing rom sources and OP doesn't know what Beta Tester mean, just hoping oppo dont get mad because of this
Installed D802 on my D803 and tried every JB kernel for the G2 I could find and still does not work, looks like for any other model than a few that are listed in the install along with D802 will have to wait for another release and hope that release will work with your model.
It will install but I could not find a compatible kernel to make boot up with my D803.
Hi,
do you know if the team actually works on a ROM for the Pixel C device?
Remix OS was announced for the Pixel C and both Nexus devices (which now received a ROM).
So I just would like to have a small status update aka cancelled/working on it
Thank you
Thanks for this question. I'm wondering the same thing.
No answer in 3 days.
Now does this point to a lack of communication between Jide and its customers, or do they simply not care about the users?
Because there are clearly some Jide employees who read this subforum.
Very interested by this question too
Thanks for this question !
Pixel C with its large screen could be great with Remix OS.
The Pixel C launched with 6.0.1. REMIX OS is on 5.1. How exactly were you guys expecting to have the rom out now? It will be out when remix OS is based on a version of android that the pixel C has source code for.

We don't expect a rom to be out but instead an official statement about general plans regarding compatibility to the Pixel C

it will have the ROM after the switch to marshmallow.
Maybe now that 3.0 is out for PC and we know Remix is making the Marshmallow jump there'll be some movement. I won't hold my breath though. C'mon Jide! Please give this to us!

Yeaii
I will try installing it on the weekend and will report back how it worked
So far it's pretty decent. I installed after figuring out how to unlock the bootloader first (something you should update in your instructions). First impressions: I'm not sure why I can't drag from the menu to the desktop and I can't remove icons from the desktop (only uninstall them) this is just weird. Furthermore, I can't ping icons to the taskbar at the bottom (this would be super useful even if limited to 1-2 apps.
Also, way too much wasted room on the desktop, huge padding on the left and right which should be accounted for.
Overall, very cool
A few issues.
When installing the Google keyboard it soft reboots the tablet first try, then installs properly.
It takes a little too long for the tablet to recognize that it's either charging or not charging. I unplugged my pixel c to write this and it still thinks it's charging.

Agreed. You can't drag from the menu to the desktop because the desktop is combined with the launcher. There is no app drawer, it's basically like the iOS desktop. It would be cool if they would let you pin icons on the taskbar instead of just showing what's open.

You actually can pin apps to the taskbar by long pressing an app from the menu/app drawer and dragging it to the taskbar.
I also think that having every app icon on the desktop is overkill. It would be better to keep the apps contained to the menu and let us choose which ones to place on the desktop (like with the Google Now Launcher).
I'm hoping someone can help me. I've followed both links in this thread for how to instructions. The first takes me to the help site where, no matter how I word my search, I get no useful links. The second link is to the 'how to install Remix on a PC'.
Could someone help me out with the link on how to install on an Android tablet, please.
I've tried google search with various versions of 'how to install on an Android tablet' with no luck either.
All the best Richard.
Hello folks.
I'd like to try the Remix OS on my Pixel C, but would like to be able to go back to Android if I don't like it. I have TWRP recovery installed. Can I just install all the image files but skip the recovery.img? Will this allow me to run TWRP and restore an Android backup? Or is there some dependency needed in the remix recovery?
Thanks for the help.

Have to admit, it does need better instructions, namely for setting up ADB Fastboot... something that was sorely missing. I had to install it, then open an command line prompt then change to that directory. Then run all the commands in the bat file that was included. After getting the ADB driver from Samsung working, it was a breeze but until then, it was a nightmare!
Right now I'm running Remix OS 3 for the Google Pixel C, it's android version 6.0.1 and it runs pretty good. I got tired of waiting for Nougat to roll out not to mention, Nougat doesn't support free form windows... something I love on my Samsung devices!!!! Oh one other thing, it does not have root support even though their videos claim that it does!
Hi guyz,
Good lock is supporting on j500f and also other marshmallow devices.just download the apk and install.after it will ask for reboot.its a original android view in samsung mm devices. It is an interesting alternative version of default TouchWiz..here the original thread and screen shots are there only.hope everyone will like it.

yeah.thats one problem of goodlock.if u want to remove.then flash the stock firmware through odin and then again flash twrp...it will be in previous state...else if u have any backup of system through taken by twrp before then just wipe system and cache and then restore only system.in this way u can save ur data.i think it will be helpfull for u.

Ok.thanks mate for ur information.i think its suitable with ur device.maybe u have less free ram in ur mobile to use this app.that's y it maybe slow down.here i have used before its working fine with mine.j500f nd i have checked its support for all mm devices.
I don't know it seems to work fine on J500 this app is optimized to work on S7 and S7 edge and probably on Note 7 too as it's not available for other devices on Galaxy apps so i think we need to wait little while
I have a j500f and i can confirm it works better than stock system ui.
For me its extremely slow and i have same phone but bigger display and more storage and more ram
I compiled gapps 8.1 unofficial. Thought I'd share. They are for any arm64 device. I've only tested picp and nano and as long as u flash while flashing ROM before first boot they work fine. If u boot first then try and flash they just keep giving errors and I'm not sure how to fix. But if u flash right after ROM they work fine. Anyway I'll continue to maintain every few days until they become official which by that time android p 9.0 will probably be out as from the look of things I've found on gerrit as I own a pixel device also.

Apologies. Saw the last post, and missed the first.
I recommend installing the smallest GApps package and adding what you need, and nothing more.
