[HELP] F2FS On Stock Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus - Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Questions & Answers

I wanted to know if lenovo vibe k5 plus(A6020a46 3GB Model) supports f2fs on stock lollipop??
Also it would be great if anyone could tell me how to convert et4 to f2fs

My A6020a46 2GB model (stock ROM, stock kernel) doesn't even boot with the DATA partition formatted as F2FS so I think it's unsupported. The 3GB model uses the same ROM (I suppose) so it's the same there.
You might want to try custom kernels like Vegito Kernel and Extreme Kernel as they claim to support F2FS (sorry I haven't test them).
Regarding converting to F2FS, see some articles like [Guide] Formatting EXT4 to F2FS without losing internal storage & data and [GUIDE] Convert /data to f2fs with TWRP 2.8.+ [TF700T]. Basically, you use TWRP to backup data, change the filesystem to F2FS and then restore them back.
I recommend experimenting with the CACHE partition first to see if stuff works.

[Q] F2FS with CM12

Hi people !
I've just one question, related to new TWRP (2.8.5.1) and CM12. I've seen some commits on CM12 changelog that makes me thing that, perhaps, CM12 now supports F2FS partitions.
While TWRP is now able to format in F2FS, is it possible to use F2FS with CM12 ? If yes, with which partitions ? /system, /cache, /data... ?
Also, is it possible to restore a Nandroid backup made in EXT4 in a F2FS partition ? (to "convert" it for /data without losing it).
Thanks for your help.

Same question, but I want to use it with a i9192, sorry for comment in a LG thread!

F2FS on a stock 5.1.1 rom (easy way)?

I see my favourite glitch kernel have f2fs support.
How can i convert stock 5.1.1 rom to f2fs?
Recovery?
Using F2FS for the system partition isn't really interesting imo, and as you encountered can be annoying if your rom installation script forces EXT4. I suggest you to try formatting DATA and CACHE partitions as F2FS (make sure to backup your whole internal storage if needed) using the latest TWRP recovery. Remember to reflash Glitch kernel after that (using MTP in recovery to get back your whole internal SD data) so your device can boot (as the kernel package will detect partitions at flash time). Good luck !
Tnx, will try.
On N7 2012 and 4.4 android this tool was good for me.
How did this work out? Is it worth doing?

Modify partition Ext4 to F2FS File System

Hello, I would like to know which are the correct partitions to change the file system to F2FS. Can I flash to cache, cache and dalvik, system, data, internal storage? Or could you please indicate me which the correct partitions to change the file system to F2FS. The rom stock are compatible with that F2FS file system? I think that from recovery (twrp latest version) it is possible to change the F2FS file system of the partition, thank for you help.
Note:my phone model is LG g3 d851
F2FS on stock requires a compatible kernel and modded ramdisk (fstab), btw you can format data and cache (correct partitions) to F2FS but your phone won't boot.

Hello,
Could you please tell me that I must modify of the ramdisk (fstab) to avoid problems of bootloop. I have read in several sites that brings advantages in writing data to modify the System and data partition. Thank for you answer.

Stock kernel has F2FS built in! Possible to use it?

/proc/filesystems shows that the stock kernel of OOS has already the F2FS filesystem built in (by the way, also NTFS, which is useful for OTG...).
Now, the partitions are formatted with ext4... and F2FS has certain advantages (among them speed) over ext4...
So, would it be possible to format to F2FS in TWRP and then flash a stock ROM?

Does XA2 support the f2fs file system?

The command "cat /proc/filesystems" doesn't show f2fs. If I format the /data partition to f2fs through twrp, will the phone be able to read it?
In custom roms (custom cores it does), for example u can build LOS 15/16/17 or AOSP 8/9/10 and tuning core for f2fs... or another FS support.
