Hi anyone here having trouble getting Xposed MTC to set poweramp as default music player and getting the SW control to skip music? Sw controls work for skipping music only on default mtc music player, thanks!
All your can do to make power amp more friendly is:
1. Use MTCD TOOLS to be able to use your steering wheel controls
2. Use xposed MTC MANAGER, by adding the power amp process to the file "whitelist.ini" so it will start playing automatically after resume from sleep.
the whitelist.ini file is in the GPS card inside MTC manager folder. (that is of you coppied the MTC Manager files like Malaysk says to do) inside you can just write down the poweramp process (com.maxmpz.audioplayer)
it will be kept alive during sleep.
3. In power amp settings there is a setting to resume playing on startup. Enable this and it will start playing automatically after cold boot.
This is it. Nothing More you can do

what needs to be done.. to work it on the new audio manager in touchflo3d??
tnx in advance..
Er. . nothing. Mine plays quite happily with the screen off
Mine doesn't I was playing music through bluetooth to the car and screen goes off and media player stops playing until I hit the power button again (I need to find out what the app name is of the media player as well so I can add it as an exception into slide to unlock)

Is that HTC media player or Windows media player?
The HTC one ( the one on the music tab) works fine streaming to my car radio with the screen off. WMP turns off with the screen tho'
I haven't found a fix for this either =( When I use my stereo bluetooth headset all is fine: I can press the power button, device goes into suspend, music keeps playing. But when I'm playing music through the speaker - as I like to do in the morning in the shower - music playback stops when pressing the power button.
I found a registry setting for the HTC audio manager (hkey\localmachine\software\htc\audiomanager_eng\config\enter_suspend) but it didn't do anything =(

It's the HTC media player (one on the tab) you don't happen to know the actual file name that is run when you select it from the tab do you?
I have the same problem with TouchFLo Music tab... power button and stop music!
I have the same problem with the built in player - Core player & Pocket music player although that freezes & generally is unstable - dunno why it was perfect on my X1.
I have a small problem (I don't think I had it before)!
when I put Music tab from TouchFlo playing and press power button the sound stops!
does it happens to you? how can I solve it?
thanks

This is the way it's meant to be.
If it's playing through speakers, the sound stops by pressing the power button. If it's playing through headphones, you can press power and it will still play.
is there anyway to change it in the registry so that we can turn the device off and still play it through the speakers. TP2 got 2 good speakers so it would be nice to leave it in the table and listen music without hearphones

I used S2U2 lastest version, run S2U2 Settings > Advanced > check on "Don't Suspend Power" > Save > Yes, and my TP2 can play music when device off
Not sure whether this is an Android issue or an HTC issue. Tried a search on the forum but did not come up with anything.
When I connect a headset with a remote contol, either directly or via bluetooth, apart from the volume contols, all the other controls will open or operate the built-in media player. Is there a way of changing this to operate my player of choice, Ambling BookPlayer instead?
There appears to be no setting in BookPlayer to do that.

I got the opposite problem. I found that the controls always worked with the new media player I installed when I wanted it to work with the stock one.
I'm aware that this post is of no use to you, but I would like to know of away to change default music player too. I checked on the application settings but it's not there.
How can i set it up to start tunein radio(or simply the builtin radio) instead of music player when i plug in the headphones?
Under the "Display" menu you should find a setting called "Page Buddy". This should then display all or your often used media apps when you plug in the headphones.
If you get the app "Tasker" you can script this to happen.
I listen to music via Bluetooth streaming in my car using the factory MUSIC app. I'd like to be able to get into the car, turn on the BT streaming mode on my car audio and automatically begin playing music. However, the factory task manager automatically closes the MUSIC app after I get out of the car and I have to load it manually each time.
Being that everyone recommends that with KitKat one shouldn't install a task killer/manager other than what's from the factory....how can this be done?
Is there any way to put the music on an exclusion list?
Thanks in advance.
If understand correctly, you want the music to continue playing on your phone's speaker when disconnected from your car audio?

negative, the music will pause automatically when the music app detects a break in bluetooth connection when I turn off the car. What I need is for the MUSIC app itself to continue running in the background (it's not a big resource or battery hog) for when I get into my car for a seamless transition back to playing music.... because once the phone shuts down the app I need to load it again...a PITA.
Thanks.

It will continue running in the background, this isn't really a task killer problem but more of an app thing.. For example, I use play music and it resumes playing once I connect to Bluetooth again even if I kill it myself.. I would check the settings if you haven't already and see if there's is a setting for it, I've seen other apps with settings like that, but don't know about the stock music app
it is not in fact running in the background. No such option in setting either. Anyone know of any app that could make it be ignored by the default task manager?
You can do it with xposed if interested
The head unit in your car may have something to do with it.
Factory? Aftermarket?
I have a Kenwood w/7in touch screen and if my BT on phone is enabled as soon as the Kenwood starts up whatever app was running before will start playing automatically, Samsung music app, Amazon music app..
If Milk music or Pandora I have to launch app.
Pp.
there are a few apps on the market with that name.... also do I need root access? As far as the head unit it's a factory stereo Infiniti q50

It's not on the market and you need root access.. If you are interested do a quick search for xposed on Google and go to the one here on XDA, read about it on the thread and how to use it, install it, open it, and search for a module called app settings, in there you have an option to always keep in memory for whatever app you want so just select stock player. Keeping the music player running may not even be the solution, but it is a possibility.. As the previous poster stated, there are apps that just lack autoplay feature.. It is also possible that some other music app or app that uses Bluetooth may conflict with it, preventing it from auto playing
Does anyone know if there is a way (running Malaysk ROM) to make starting music programs (e.g. I use Spotify, MS Groove, podcast players) to switch the MCU mixer to music?
For example - Currently when I am listening to radio and I want to listen to Spotify, Groove or a podcast player next I click the corresponding icon in the launcher but the radio remains on so I have to open the launcher a second time and click Music to turn off the radio/switch android feed to stereo. I would like clicking the Spotify, Groove, etc. icons to do that automatically.
I'd be interested in this as well. I thought that I could do this with Tasker, basically kill the radio app when spotify starts but I don't know what app to kill to make the radio stop.
Killing apps won't help with anything. We need something to switch the MCU audio.
I was operating under the impression that the radio audio stream was coming from an app. However the radio being a hardwired audio input seperate from the Android audio stream would explain why when I reboot the HU the radio keeps playing while it reboots.
I found my solution. I upgraded to a Dasaita MDCD PX5 (OctaCore) with Android 6 and it switches automatically - i.e. Hitting the play button on Spotify turns off the radio, pressing the radio button while Spotify is playing pauses Spotify and so on
