Hi! I am hoping that someone by now has found a way to add a tab and/or Arrow keys to the stock samsung keyboard. It is still my favorite except for those 2 things missing and don't want to use a different keyboard. I am using Android 4.3 SGH I317.
Is there a forum just for v.4.3 for those who have refused to upgrade? Also, which is the best rootkit right now to use without a laptop, to root it with my phone only.
Thanks!

whoa....I want that also....the gingerbread one though, way better than the samsung one
I hate the Samsung keyboards, as the comma is hidden!
Why on earth would they make it so difficult to use a comma?
Try Swype, you'll love it after a while!
the Samsung keyboard uses some classes from touch wiz, so I am not sure how easy it will be to export it to galaxy s..
I have attached a ZIP file, including, the keyboard APK and ODEX, and the touch wiz framework JAR.
although I think that you will need to dex the odex file intigrate it with the APK, and probably also need some of the framework classes from touchwiz JAR..
I am not sure if I can help you any further with this, but I can atleast give it a try if you have any questions..
I don't use touchwizz, i use a blue gingerbread launcher, can i install the galaxy SII keyboard?
i see people downloaded it, does it work??

It is not important that you use another launcher, it is important whether or not you have installed another ROM on your device.
even though you have installed another launcher, TouchWiz is still running in the background..
I dont have an Galaxy S(1), so I can't directly help you achieve your goal,
I can try to edit the APK file, and include the classes that it needs, but you will have to try it on your phone, without I have tested it first. (it shouldn't be necessary to be root)
but first of, someone have downloaded the files, so maybe someone can reply if it worked or not..

I have changed some of the settings on the original Samsung Keyboard for Galaxy SII
now it shows a comma, instead of dot.
and I just use double space to make a dot.
I have the files to get it working on a galaxy S2, not sure if they will work on any other devices, and you need to be root.

Nice! But I would like the comma on the left side of the space, and the dot (punctuation mark) on the right side So I'm sticking with Steven Lin's Gingerbread Keyboard for now.
BUMP
Has anyone actually got this working?
I would reather see keyboard from LG Optimus 2X to get ported then Galaxy S 2 (=
Try this for the LG keyboard

Is there a download link available? It has been included in a few roms, but i can't find a apk or zip type of file anywhere.
Hey All,
Jelly Beer's 4.2.2 update worked great on my Samsung S3. However, I went out and purchased a new Note 2 GT-N7100 T-Mobile T889. I love the phone. The only problem is that I got used to the keyboard that the guys included in with Jelly Beer 4.2.2 update. In the Input settings, the keyboard is listed as Android keyboard (AOSP). That's the keyboard that I want.
The one that came with the Note 2 is Samsung's own and it's awful. Yes, yes, yes, I've installed just about every other keyboard out there. I've purchased the paid versions and all. Still, nothing does the job as well as the keyboard AOSP. I was literally going to toss the phone because I can't type on it. Then I started to use the gesture part of it, and I'm getting used to that. However, I still want the AOSP one. I've looked all over in the Play store and nothing.
Does anyone have the direct link or the actual .apk that I can download?
Would really appreciate it.

I am wanting the same thing.
yes, there is a google keyboard in the app store. but its not the same as AOSP, AOSP has the symbols as long hold on the letter keys. and you can long press the "." and slide to choose ?! and others.
I tried pulling out the aosp keyboard from carbon rom, if I just install it, it works, but no sliding to type (like swype) and if I move it to system/app and set permissions, then reset, it just force closes... so... it kind of works... but I would really like to be able to slide type.
Good day.
So, I have a Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100). It is not locked to any operator and it has stock Android 4.3 installed via Kies a few days ago. I heard that there should be support for emojis in this Android version. My gf has a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3 and she has the iWnn keyboard with all the colored emojis. When I try to find that keyboard on my Note II I can't. There is no keyb with that name. I can see some emojis in apps and messages but no color and no posibility to type emoji without using Google keyboard (installed as an APK). The Google keyboard has only a few emojis.
How come everyone else with a Note II has this iWnn keyboard installed but not my phone? If it was locket to an operator I would understand, but since it's bought not locked to an operator I don't. Could anyone help me with this?
And also, how come the S4 range has the colored emojis and not the Note II/other models? Isn't the version of Android the same?

S4 is newer than Note 2 after all. (And both phones aren't stock android after all) so Samsung can still stuff new stuff into the s4, so download a third party keyboard (I use go keyboard) or grab the apk from your girlfriend's phone and hope it works on your note 2.
Smack that thanks button If I helped!

Well, I didn't have time for that, however I will try it some day. Thanks to all for the tip.
Instead I got myself a SM-N9005 (Note 3). And, if possible, I love this more than the Note 2! :cyclops:
Been running CivZ rom since couple days after getting this device. Wondering if any SPen functionality found in stock rom has been lost. It has been way too long since I've been stock so don't know about this. The Note 10 (2014) has ability to hold the pen down over any notes section in apps and handwrite instead of using keyboard. This is a really cool feature that I can't seem to replicate on my Note. Can someone running stock chime in and let me know if this functionality on our tablet exists?
I've tried to replace the stock samsung keyboard with different ones and none of them will work. Has anyone found any that will work with the sprint variant of the note 4?
The stock Samsung keyboard is tied int TouchWiz ui and simply swapping out the apk will not work. I don't know why you would want to replace it with a different apk. Instead , I would install seperate keyboards in addition to the stock Samsung keyboard so not to break TouchWiz. I hear the LG G3 keyboards is pretty nice.
Well i found one that works can't remember where i got it but it works. I see your point i just like the stock keyboard just wanted a dark one. I like the sammy one better. When i had my note 3 and s5 a simple keyboard swap in the system would work maybe it was the roms i was using. Thanks for your response.
