Hello everyone, sorry for the post but I'm really desperate at the moment, so here it goes:
I wiped my phone up by mistake while doing a hard reset and now it's OS is gone. When I try to flash RUUs it says the HBOOT version is wrong, maybe too old. I've read a lot here in the forum but wasn't able to do it yet. I'll copy the getvar from my device down here so maybe u guys can help me out.

Install twrp 2.8.7.0
Restore 4.24.709.3 stock backup
Install 4.24.709.3 stock recovery
After boot, OTA to 6.20.709.2
I am trying the way you showed but keep getting the message FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
By the way my Laptop is Windows 10, don't know if it's a matter.
Thank you so much!

At what stage are you getting this message? When trying to flash the stock recovery?
If so post the results of fastboot getvar all minus your serial# and IMEI (and MEID if you have one ~ only CDMA devices do)
I think you may be trying to flash the wrong recovery for your device.

yes, even when I try to flash the new TWRP file this message appears
C:\Users\DELL\Desktop\RUU>fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-m8.img

I guess it's because my phone is relocked? Don't know I'm really confused
Yes, the signature verify fail error is due to relocked bootloader.
You can only install TWRP with an unlocked bootloader. TWRP is an unsigned file. By definition, you can't flash an unsigned recovery with a locked (and also relocked) bootloader. This is the very meaning and purpose of a locked bootloader.
I see... So I must unlock the bootloader again, flash and Install twrp 2.8.7.0, restore 4.24.709.3 stock backup, install 4.24.709.3 stock recovery and then relock the bootloader?
And for unlocking it I have to follow the same way for the first time? HTCdev, etc...?

what about flashing the marshmallow RUU.zip ??
it's signed you need a relocked bootloader to flash it on s-on device
here is the RUU
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911967316
and here is how to flash ( but use the above RUU )

That is correct. Then OTA update to Marshmallow.
Alternately, with bootloader still relocked, fastboot flash the firmware fw_6.12.709.4 using the file and instructions from here (Same thread as before, but Post #5): https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60218734&postcount=5.
Then unlock the bootloader, install TWRP 2.8.7 and restore stock backup 6.12.709.4, which will put you right on Marshmallow with no need to OTA.

You may be able to fastboot flash the unlock token you used before (but doesn't always work). Otherwise, yes, you can go through the entire HTCDev.com process and get a new token.

Okay, thank you so much! I'm at work now and don't have my phone with me, so when I arrive home I'll try this way.

Thanks a lot again!!!

I currently have TWRP and CM12.1 installed, but the gps isn't working. I've heard flashing a stock rom then getting a gps lock and flashing back to CM resolves this. My question is, does flashing the stock ruu remove TWRP, or the hboot recovery option? My understanding is flashing the ruu should just flash the stock rom and I can easily flash back to CM12.1 from TWRP, is this correct?

flashing a stock RUU will make your phone full stock, so TWRP will be replaced with the stock recovery, its not a problem, after flashing the RUU, just unlock your bootloader again and reflash TWRP recovery, simple as that.

depends, are you s-on or s-off ?
there are stock roms but I doubt that will fix your issue, you will probably need to use a full RUU package, if your s-on, you will need to relock the bootloader to flash it, and therefore have to uinlock again after your finished, if your s-off then you can flash it whilst unlocked, no need to re-unlock again.

here's your RUU, just run it as normal, after its finishede flashing, you will be full stock, no need to lock the bootloader as your s-off, once finished and booted, you can then reflash TWRP recovery and try your rom again

make sure the rom your trying to flash also supports Verizon devices and never ever turn this one s-on.
Hey XDA,
I have a bit of a problem! I was trying to S-OFF my Tmobile m8 phone (ViperOne 2.5.0) so that I could upgrade to the latest and greatest. I installed Sunshine and was told my ROM wasn't compatible.
I followed the instructions here: http://www.android.gs/downgrade-t-mobile-htc-one-m8-to-official-stock-firmware-with-ruu/ to get back to stock so I could S-OFF.
Basically, relock the bootloader (done, successfully - shows Relocked) and ran the RUU utility. The RUU utility says that it's not the right version - I downloaded RUU_M8_TMOUS_1.57.531.7.exe. Now, my phone is stuck in fastboot/hboot and when I try to reboot, goes right back into fastboot. I have no idea what to do from here. I can't get into recovery to restore an image. I can't "fastboot oem unlock" to see if that helps - it fails.
Any ideas?

Your issue is that you are trying to run an RUU for an older version (4.4.2), or that you are not on T-Mo US, but on an International/European version.
If you are in the US, run this RUU instead. It will jump you up to Lollipop 5.0, and should also fix your issue.
The above link is to HTC's US website, and is the official 4.20.531.4 RUU. You will want to scroll down to the manual system update instructions. The download is at the bottom of the page.
Good luck!

Yep. That was the problem. I can tell from your bootloader version that you are on 4.4.3 firmware. You can only downgrade if you are s-off.
If you want to get S-Off, after running the RUU would be a good time to do it. It works best when on the stock ROM, but will also work with a near stock ROM such as MaximusHD.

Also, delete your serial# and IMEI from your readout. That is private information, and you should never post those on a public forum for your own security.

There's your answer right there. You need to change MID to one that is supported by the GPE RUU. Looks like you've already changed your CID to one that works with the GPE RUU. But you need to change CID and MID.
OK I will try

adb commands dont work in fastboot mode, you need to flash the latest version of twrp boot into it and then use the adb commands if your unsure of what to do and dont want to furher damage your phone i can help you over teamviewer, changing your mid is risky if your not sure and can damage your device badly any wrong mistake and its game over.

The link is for flashing a new splash screen. Don't know why you are linking or trying to follow this.

adb commands will only work while booted in OS or custom recovery. That is what the previous post (Post #6 above) was talking about.

The photo in your first post indicates your bootloader is relocked. Did you unlock it again?
If its still relocked, custom recovery will never flash properly.

i fix the problem over teamviewer red point, what i did was edit the model id in the zip from the google play stock rooted rom to match his and flash it, then unlock his bootloader with adb and change both mid and cid to google play, his phone was stuck at the htc logo black screen that fix it.

Since you're S-ON, you will not be able to flash RUUs or firmware below your current ROM version. You can however restore twrp backups of Lollipop ROMs which work fine with your current 6.12 Marshmallow firmware. Otherwise, you can use twrp to flash any custom ROM based on marshmallow & lollipop.
Here's a link to stock marshmallow RUU (6.12.401.4) in zip format, which you should flash from bootloader.

I flash the twrp's recovery. I can access to it but when I try to go to install the zip file, twrp refuse to install it with "Zip file is corrupt". I double check md5 sum and they seems to be correct =( .
I also try to flash it with fastboot, just in case, and no result but with a different error: "(bootloader) zip header checking... FAILED (remote: 32 header error) "

You don't flash RUUs with TWRP, you flash them with fastboot in RUU mode. Which you seemed to know based on your top post, so I'm not sure why you tried to flash with TWRP this time.

You need to relock your bootloader to RUU with s-on.
Command: fastboot oem lock

I'm not sure which way you want to go, but:
1. To flash the RUU zip file:
A. You need to put it at the root of your SD CARD and rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip
B. Turn your phone off, then start it into bootloader.
C. Follow the instructions in RED to flash. You will lose all data as the RUU will format all partitions.
2. To install a custom ROM or restore a twrp-specific backup, use TWRP's install function, or restore function respectively.
Cheers

Post the results of fastboot getvar all. Edit out your serial# and IMEI (and MEID if you have one) before you post it.

I'm not sure what RUUs you have tried to flash, but this is the last RUU version for your model (T-Mo Germany)
You can flash it with fastboot commands in RUU mode, or you can flash it via the SD card method.
The SD card method is easiest. Rename the .zip by deleting everything in the name of it except for 0P6BIMG (and .zip of course), put it onto your extSD, and boot to bootloader. The rest is pretty much automatic.
Note that since you are S-On, you will have to relock your bootloader first with either method. The command for that is fastboot oem lock
Good luck!
Very helpful thread. Wanted to ask for help here, but already solved the issue

i unlock bootlader but s on
i download same version but same error (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)

I don't think you version has an RUU. What version number or file name RUU you trying to flash? I have a feeling it is not for your carrier version M8.

Not really clear what exactly you have done to the phone. How did you s-off the phone? The only current working method is sunshine paid app.
You don't need s-off to flash TWRP or root, so I'm skeptical that you actually got s-off.
What version TWRP, and what root file did you flash? I have a feeling you just flashed the wrong version TWRP and/or root file.
