LG G4 - LG Flashtool Not flashing KDZ files completely - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I recently got an LG G4 from a friend, he wants me to fix it.
No, you needn't laugh at me behind my back. Feel free to to do it to my face.
[Edit]
Sorry is took so long to get these screens guys. Life happened.
We have two videos and an image. Will get more if necessary.
[/Edit]
TL, DR:
Phone problems:
Not booting, appears to be boot-looping. No SODS.
Cause of phone problems:
Unclear, was not in possession of the phone when they began.
Flashing problems:
LG Flash tool reaches 9% then fails. Consistently. Persists across multiple KDZ files, USB cables and ports.
So the basic jist is I haven't the slightest idea why the phone stopped working in the first place, so can't tell if it is hardware or software related, but I've taken it upon myself to try and fix it.
The problem with the phone is your basic boot-looping, though I am not sure as to the severity of the brick.
I haven't encountered any Screens of Death in my interactions with the phone
Anyway, I have the KDZ files and everything else I need to restore the phone.
When I put the phone into download mode and begin the flashing process, it does begin the flashing process, the little terminal place in the download mode screen (on the phone) starts showing more text, like it should, and the arrows start spinning.
Then when the flashing process hits 9%, it will stop working.

[/EDIT]
I've restored LGs in the past using the KDZ method, even LG G4s, so I know what to expect.
Never once have I run into this problem though. It's an entirely new problem for me.
I should also mention that the result persists even after I downloaded a fresh copy of LG Flash tool, the LG drivers as well as the KDZ files themselves.
Another interesting, though probably unrelated quirk I've seen is that any time I put it to charge, it won't stay in that battery charging screen it normally should while it's off, but instead try to boot itself almost immediately after it gets to that screen.
I'll try to grab some screens, maybe a video to show exactly what's going on, but in the meantime, any and all help would be appreciated.

Sounds like ilapo bootloop.

attach some screen shots...surely we will help

you need LGUP to flash KDZ files..

Xperia Play Defibrilation :)

Hey guys, this is gonna be kind of a long story but bear with me please.
I got an Xperia Play for dirt cheap today. The guy said it just vibrates when power button is pressed and doesn't boot but the green/blue led comes on so I guessed it was bricked or somethig. Oh, and it also doesn't have the battery cover.
So i tried flashing R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_(1253-4437).ftf and Xperia_Play_2.3.3_UK_Generic.ftf via flashtool and "update" via update service but to no avail. Same symptoms.
I thought the screen is totaly dead and inserted a SIM card, pressed power, waited a few minutes then called that sim but the SIM was unavailable so I guess phone really doesn't turn on so a software fault is still an option.
Any ideas guys?
Also I wanted to ask something, what is this little white thing in the picture? Could it have something with the phone not turning on without the battery cover, I know my old HTC Startrek had something like that.

AFAIK that's the lever that disables the SD card while the phone is on so it can be removed without corrupting anything
And i'm pretty sure my PLAY turns on without it's battery cover (i remember doing it some time ago when my SIM card was going PMS)
I just had this problem today as well when I pulled my old PLAY out to use it for an alarm clock.
Download flash tool 0.68, install the drivers, and download the stock 2.3.3 ftf file.
hold the back button and plug the phone into your computer. drop the ftf file from the zip archive into flash tool and follow the onscreen instructions.
when its done, pull the battery put it back in an boot the phone. It will take 5-10 mins for the first boot. Make sure that it is done BEFORE you pull the battery though... pull it before and u really WILL brick the phone.
The problem is that the screen shows no signs of life at all. Was that the case with yours too?

One more thing. I jsut noticed that I don't need to hold back to connect it in flash mode, just plug the usb cable. Could it be that somehow it's stuck in flash mode?
Maybe "back" button is stucked. Try to open it and clean it

checked it, it's not. and it was my mistake, it doesn't always connect in flash mode.
any other ideas guys?

ZenFone 2 - Flash memory failing?

Hi everyone,
This is regarding my ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (1.8 GHz CPU, 4 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM). A few days ago, after 1 year and 11 months of excellent service, suddenly I saw that some of the apps (Play Music, ASUS MiniMovie) were corrupted. But a simple uninstall and reinstall fixed them. Later that day, I was about to open settings when a message popped up "Unfortunately, settings has stopped". Rebooting the phone did not fix it and I was totally stuck as I was unable to clear the data also for the settings app which also requires "Settings" to function. I managed to do a factory reset after which, I could not even get to the home screen because that involves the Settings app as well.

}
I went on to proceed with factory reset from the recovery mode and to my shock, the recovery mode was also corrupted. Screen just froze with a USB logo. I tried to flash the recovery with xFSTK but got write error.
Then I took apart the device and cooled the flash memory (SK hynix manufactured) with some IPA.
The device booted up and was able to get to the home screen. Then I followed the ASUS standard downgrade procedure to downgrade the device from Marshmallow to Lollipop (which should force flashing of the recovery as well and everything). Phone was stable then. Then following ASUS standard upgrade procedure, I upgraded to Marshmallow and did a factory reset again. Set up everything and phone is rock stable now, performs good as new with no slow downs or anything.
My question is "What exactly happened?" It was never rooted and very well taken care of (even looks like new). Is the flash memory failing? Can the firmware get corrupted on its own?
Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hello I am also having the same issue? Can you please explain more about the way you have recovered. I love my Asus Zenfone2. I am trying to do Factory RESET which causes this issue. Do you mean, use IPA to clean the Memory side? Please help me. My email ID is [email protected]
Firstly, try to flash it with xFSTK using the tutorial here on XDA. If it fails, then you need to take the phone apart.

Phone Bricked or Infected - weird artifacts and bootloop (S4 i9505)

MY PROBLEM IS INSANELY RARE AND (propably) HARD TO FIX
Hello!
I've had i9505 for over 4 years now, I had many problems with root, custom rom etc but I always find ways to fix them - not this time!
Since yesterday, I can't boot to the system. It started when I was just in my ES file explorer and suddenly some weird artifacts popped up and I couldn't see anything (its not a physical screen problem!) then my phone turned off itself so now, I'm trying this:
Hikd power button --> *short vibration* --> Samsung S4 logo pops up --> black screen --> again vibration --> ... and again and again. It just loops here.
So I left it for a night hoping that when I wake up it will be finally working again but no, NOW it was stuck on 'SAMSUNG' logo (the one with a blue background). So I pulled out the battery and the phone started restarting again (boot loop).
But there is something new about this situation. Every 2 or 3 restarts there are ARTIFACTS on the screen. For now, I've experienced 3 different ones and I managed to catch one of them with camera (see image below)

There is another one with a blue code in really small size, couldn't catch it fast enough tho.
This is what I have been doing with my phone before all this crap happened:
1. I installed 'Udemy' app from Google Play
2. I installed Modded Google Play via Lucky Patcher
3. I updated Lucky patcher
4. I edited build.prop to make my phone visible as s7, but then i changed it back
I think these artifacts may be caused a virus or just broken system files - I don't know :/
And pretty much that's it. I really want to know what possibly could cause this issue.
Please, everyone, I've always found ways to fix problems without flashing phone, so I believe I can now.
I have access to download mode and TWRP recovery.
But one more thing about TWRP - when I try to copy a file or wipe cache, error message pops up "E: Unable to mount storage". Is it possible, that for the first time ever my phone actually got infected?
If I catch any new artifacts, I will show them here.
I would be grateful for any help at this point, thanks

Need Help Bypassing FRP on Pixel C Tablet with Android 8, Talkback 6.0.0, Outdated YT

I acquired this tablet for relatively cheap in auction from a remarketer, and feel like I know why now. None of the methods I can find seem to work to removing the FRP on it.
I did manage to cause it to crash a couple times, once corrupting the data letting me factory reset it again in recovery through the method described in this XDA post, however it was still locked at this point. I did write down the build info when this happened. 8.0.0/OPR1.170623.027/4292972
I did manage to successfully perform the trick described in that post and pull down notification bar, but when I go to more settings, all it gives me is this

. Doesn't really allow me to navigate anywhere more useful. Image
I've also managed to try the TalkBack video method, with the video in Morse Code, as there is no video in the "Get Started with Voice Access". This would probably work in the past, except that currently Youtube needs an update on this device, and when I try it brings me back to the FRP Login.
Youtube Update-FRP Login
At this point I'm at a loss of what to do. It's a challenge. Is there any hardware bypass that exists, such as shorting some pins on a firmware chip? Any Software I can run on my computer to aid in this task? Nothing I could find for this device, but maybe I haven't looked hard enough. Perhaps a method to trick Youtube into running without the update?
following
I don't know if there is nor do I personally own a Pixel C but I do have experience with getting FRP gone on more than one device I've owned in the past. These methods you see are extremely sensitive and even a few seconds time pause or anything except exactly how whoever is doing them is, can end up unsuccessful. Also many of the methods get patched with updates... Just be careful because there are many fake advertisments out there about this that say pay $____ and we will do it ..And they don't. All I can say is search search search and try it all and if you already have done that do it again. I had a Motorola phone some years ago and I bricked it. Hard brick... I messed around with the blankflash file trying to get it to work for weeks!!! I must have attempted to get it to work 500 times at least!!! I kept trying and one day it worked. Don't give up and when you follow those methods to remove FRP on YouTube make sure you are following EXACTLY how they are doing it.
Here's a method I just came across: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/pixel-c-8-1-1-frp-bypass.3879498/

[QST] - N976B - S-Pen stopped working after rolling back to stock

Hi there,
I have an issue with my S-Pen. it suddenly have stopped working with my device.
I own a N976B Note.
I guess it is an issue with the firmware, because the stylus is recognized on my other devices and the other styluses are not recognized on my note.
To help you understand the history i want to sum up some steps.
1. my phone had a t-obile branding, witch i wanted to remove, so i flashed another csc rom to get rid of that. (back in 2020)
2. After some annoyance by advertisement and the wish to get root and a custom rom, i installed Dr.Ketan Rom and was pretty satisfied, but the hassle with manual updates was a draw back, so i decided to roll back to complete stock to get OTA.
3. After some huslte and some rookie mistakes by trying to install a n975 stock rom on my device, i figured it out and flashed the matching rom. but now the stylus or the digitizer seems to be corrupted. the firmware version is not recognized by the phone. see the screenshot below:

}
After some attempts to get it running again, i installed the very stock rom for my phone several times. (N976BXXS7FUI1)
I even checked "re-partition" and flashed with the matching pitfile in odin.
But there still no luck.
do you guys have some tips?
big thanks in advance!
greeting
Play with it. Spen's can be ornery as mules, once you get it going you're good.
They don't like being neglected for months.
My stock one was neglected. Took a couple days of playing with and then boom it stated charging like nothing ever happened.
Until it shows it's taking a charge it will do nothing. It will play dead.
Try clearing the system cache, reset network, pray to the pagan gods, play with it more... in and out, etc. Try enabling multiple spens, try disabling same... don't cross your spens, use the one for the 10+
Guess it just needs a good fk to get it going
I have 2 10+'s, both stock* and both run very well. Loading custom roms isn't needed, can kill desirable features and makes troubleshooting** much more difficult. That said if you're back on a stock rom the spen and associated hardware/firmware/software are likely good... it's just showing you who's boss. Play with it at least once a day, it will likely perk up in a week and stop it's wallflower act.
*with a package disabler and heavily optimized. I never update if it's running fast and stable; many apps are still running on their factory load as well. One 10+ is running on Pie, one on Q.
**Do Not enable power management. Make sure you didn't disable a needed parent/dependency apk! Do not ever, ever load Android 11 or higher, the kiss of death. Of course I could be mistaken, but probably not...
