About what custom rom? You didnt mention any
Well stock roms are most likely more stable and also more polished than custom roms. That doesn t mean that custom roms are bad.
Most people want to get custom roms because they have a reason to do so. Privacy, for example. Installing Google apps is optional for most custom roms and can make your phone a little bit more private (though your probably will never be fully private with a smartphone).

Does anyone know a custom rom that is simpler than the rom stock ( the customs roms are so polluted with functionalities ...) ? No features, just the basics. Which comes with the minimum of application?
My factory rom does not work the Data Usage. And now this is appearing a folder of the terrible Baidu!
I did not want to use Chinese roms ...

try JDC AOSP it is pretty stockish ROM with substratum theme engine
This looks good. I'll try her. Thank you.
Jaguar is pretty pure in terms of functionalities...
You can try lineage 14.1 which is very close to stock.
Hi Guys,
Just wanting a few questions answered if possible for when I get my Pixel 2 XL. I do not want to root the device.
On a custom ROM (Such as LineageOS flashed with GAPPS) , will the Google Camera app work fully as expected with HDR+, as on stock? If not, i'll probably want to keep stock.
When ROM's become available - How can I identify the ROM's that are stock with additional features, or ROM's built from AOSP - I've seen "AOSP" in thread titles, but what am I looking for ROM's built from stock? Hope this makes sense.
Aside from using an app, do you think a Mod can be made for stock that can enable Scrolling Screenshots? Such as; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34DQVZx74TE
Anyone?
Check the 6P page and open some of the ROM threads. They list all of the features. If you've never used any of the custom ROMs before give it a try. If you don't like anything just try another or flash stock image. I'm sure once you find one you like though, it will become a necessity. Pixel stock android is smooth, but the ROMs add to the experience IMO, not take away.

I already have. I've flashed Lineage OS and Paranoid Android. I believe they are both AOSP though. Can you provide me with a thread to a ROM that is stock based, and advise what you seen to confirm this?
@Nightmare79 , did you manage to get portrait mode working for the back camera on AOSP/Lineage Roms ?

If it is not AOSP based (or based on rom that is AOSP based), it should be stock based
I have always used custom roms on my Samsung and other phones.. But on my 5T , I have stayed on Stock rom.. I like the rom as it is,..
But....
I cant stop wonder if I should try one of the OREO roms here,,.. Just to see if things can get even better than on stock..
If i wanna try out a OREO rom... What rom shoul I try... ?? I need one as close to stock as possible.
Try... The camera kind of sucks tho... plus you will face some bugs here and there. Like... If your not into taking pictures and videos go for it, Codename Phoenix nice rom.
Yea, until the OOS camera somehow makes it into custom ROMs, I'm stuck on OOS ROMs.
Why is there a difference between OOS camera and custom rom cameras?
I am open to a new rom, but a great camera/video is mandatory. Are there any non-Oreo ROMs for OP5T that have a better camera, or at least just as good?
I generally do not shift to custom ROMs until the Stock ROMs keep getting updates
Custom ROMs are generally free from bloatware with some extra UI enhancements (using substratum). So, if you aren't happy with the stock or you don't like the UI, then only shift to other ROMs
you get faster help and bugs are resolved faster in custom ROMs
If you just want Oreo, then you can flash the Beta Builds of OxygenOS.
Hello friends. I am on MIUI 10.2 . I just want to ask if it is better to change to a custom rom? or there are no much differences between stock rom and custom roms?
If you prefer switching to custom roms, just give your reasons, and if you prefer stock rom, mention why stock rom is better
I would also like to know the answer. Currently I'm on Masik 1.5, but its becoming a little bit sluggish. I want to know if custom roms have full screen gestures like in MIUI and if the camera quality is compared to stock.
Are you from the future? There is no MIUI 10.2 ?
So far the best ROM is stock one. Custom have lots of problems and bugs. You wont find any perfect custom rom. There wil bel always some problems.
I've tried Pie ROMs, for now MIUI is enough, pretty stable and with a lot of features, our device is supported from Xiaomi, maybe a custom ROM will be a good idea after 1/2 years (in my opinion)
Need your opinion.
Currently i am on evolution x rom.
I have Not tried any other rom yet.
Is there any better option or should i stay on this?
Priority is battery backup , good and stable ui.
Dont want to root my device
None of the above, AICP all the way for everything mentioned - well, that's just my opinion

Im EvoX user too but since no update and some bugs i've tried MIUI 13 Elite CN but lack of customization but good performance and battery life, im a fans of aosp but MIUI still give more potential than aosp. My complain is the app you close is closed and will have no notification unless you give permission to run on background. Im planning to try another MIUI custom rom.
I reccomend you to try Ancient OS or Arrow OS with pixel launcher
