I've been using Viper since almost past two years, and currently I've ARISE installed on my RR 7.1.1 Moto G4 Plus.
As someone with only a novice understanding of sound mods, I'm curious to know how this mod differs from ARISE. Though I've made sure to read the OP and the subsequent posts, am I right to assume your mod is device specific to athene?
I'm sorry if my question comes across as rude or unintelligent, just that I'll be really happy to use a mod that's 'tailor made' for my phone, given even with its huge set of customization options and frequently updated builds, ARISE hasn't been easy to tame, and a newer build or a ROM update tends to mess things up easily.
I'll look out for when you update the instructions, Ill be happy to test it on my phone.

androidexpert35 also has some Bluetooth mods for AptX HD and LDAC (this one requires some Sony Xperia modules). They add higher audio capability over a Bluetooth connection, can you integrate those too?

I'm not an expert too but, from what I could understand, it would be a pack of Arise + Anuir's Dolby with vitamins haha. But I'm guessing that the main difference between them is that his mod is tailor made for xt16xx's.

Ditto! I'm very curious about how this patches will join all this to work together without hiccups. Doesn't even have to be better than ARISE in sound. Every ARISE installation and config is always a test of your patience and time consuming that I'm only hopping that your mod will be easier and faster to config.
Since it's been 4 days that you announced it, I'm assured that it is not a easy task and that you are working hard to make this mod work properly. So I wish you good luck and I'm looking forward to test this as soon as you bring those patches live.

ARISE has a few of their own tweaks and libs added to their V4A Setup. I'd have to take a look at their newer versions, but ALOT is incompatible with this device, so that's why I dont particularly care for the extra libs that dont have stand-alone UI to configure them. When considering audio modding, DO NOT install massive mods like XTREMEmusic. Although it's getting better at incapabilities, there are still a massive amount of files/libs/frameworks being installed to the system that aren't compatible. Me personally, my engine has a minimalistic LIB approach. The only Modded LIBs that should be installed are ones that have a UI with them to allow the configuration of the LIB. Mods like XTREMEmusic install a boatload of LIBs but almost zero UI. To me new LIBs and Frameworks not originally found on the phone need to have UI in order to get them working since the LIBs were not built into the system when the system was compiled. 4x out of 6x works on this device. AM3D + MaxxAudio (Included in my other Audio Engine) are not supported on this device.

Sorry about this project being pushed back a bit. I got alot done. The thread is 99% pending final changes. Also I cant seem to get my PATCH flashable zip working. Could someone point be in the direction of the best tutorial for making flashable zip?

For those with a Snapdragon Device released with Lollipop Firmware -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3574491
This mod is confirmed as working on Huawei Union Y538 & Alcatel One Touch Idol 3, still down at the moment but way more complete with screenshots. Still trying to figure out the PATCH Flashable Zip

HELLO HELLO UPGRADES!!! FINALLY HAVE A WORKING ZIRENE UI! Still no MaxxAudio (Pending Experimentation...) ViPER XHiFi has also been added to the mix. Final release with include SIX UI Audio FX Apps!

Where's the patch.zip link dev?

Still working through the kinks. But I think its safe to say this weekend for sure. Testing is 99% complete.

Beats audio fails to work on our device, thought it would work.

Question
Does the GPS work? This looks pretty good, but it doesn't really say one way or the other whether GPS does or does not function. Just curious before I install this.
So bluetooth and 3d are both working for the Rhodium with these builds? And the installer installs to the sd card, not nand flash right? Because I have not seen where anyone had gotten bt and 3d working for the Rhodium yet, and wouldnt want to have to nand yet til developement is kinda far along and I knew I was flashing a rom capable of daily use. Thanks for sharing !!

They are not. That is a kernel issue, and not the OS issue. BT and 3D are not working on the Rhodium.
Thats what I thought, but figured I'd ask since they were in the list of working features. I'll have to check these out after I get off work in the mornin.
why would you need to create an ext2 partition?

Just a quick question before I install, is the sound (incoming call etc) working on this build? I dont care much about the other features like 3d and what not..
Thanks in advance.

I told you it would confuse people.... lol
Sound does not work for the Rhodium, it doesn't matter what theme you use, it wont fix it.
I figured it wasnt working because if it was easy to make it work the devs would have done it on the other thread. But Thanks for the clarification, I saw this rom on ppcgeeks a while back but didnt pay much attention to it.
i think you guys are getting it confused he's asking if the call sound fix aka newest zimage been added to fix call sound not all sound. i believe thats why he put incoming call in ()
from my understanding of the problem : call sound == all sound
edit : and call sound = sound coming out from the speaker when someone calls
So this is basically the same build as the ones from Reef's?
Wow, this works incredibly well. On my Tilt2, the ported CM6-rc2 works flawlessly and and the UI is extremely fluid. The installer worked perfectly too. Seriously, keep up the good work!

So Dave you are the first to report that it works good for Rhodium. I don't have a Rhodium to compare it to XDANDROID. But it runs very good for me on my Diamond! I thought about discontinuing / closing this thread as expect from you all others didn't seem to have it running like you did. Maybe you are wrong or the others !!! Let's try it then another time with the new build which is released tomorrow. I will also include a lil modificated installer - and glad to hear it installed w/o probs for you...
Maybe you can describe some steps on which kernel you used etc. and what really works for you. Could be helpful for others!
languages?
Can anybody tell me which languages are available on this build?
Thnx in advance!
When I'm done cleaning my house I'll partition my sd card and install it, I'm sure it's easy, many people just don't read or want "An easy one-click installer" and are too lazy to try in the first place, much less troubleshoot their own problems.

I admire your work...really...but, as a cm7 user, I would ask if can share your findings (about gingerbread os drain issue, 720p recording, video playback and maybe something else) with cm7 dev team...whenever possible
btw keep up the good work and thx!
Wow, a fresh new start !
I have a couple of questions while the tread is tidy
- Can you tell us what you did to improve 720p camcorder ? I definetely see an improvement but it seems not kernel related nor a special tuning of media_profiles.xml
- Is there already a language pack working with chameleon ?
Thank you for your great work
in apps words becomes after 1 or 2 minutes unreadable, mixing in eachother, how can i solve this?

Will the bug with accelermotemer preventing the phone to go to sleep be fixed within the next version?

As I was saying previously before old thread was deleted, the cause of Android OS being high has been found and hopefully resolved.
As we haven't released a RC of Chameleon yet, all questions about how we have done this and done that will not be published until we are happy they work correctly. We don't want to cause more damage than good with temporary fixes, I hope you all understand this.

Mat.

Thanks for answering, can't wait to flash the RC.
quick question: is there a complete list of features available somewhere?
also, i am currently using 2.2.1 because of the automatic call recording function, however i would like to switch to something new... so, how does the call recording on this rom works? is it automatic, two way proper call recording? output file format?
oh no~~cant see the early reply~~~

It does not work, as with Cyanogen, I don't think it is something we will be supporting as it is illegal in most countries.

I'd like to ask, what has been the cause for the Android OS bug that caused the battery drain? Sth. related to the motion sensor? Thx!
The rom is really great and fast.
Although i noticed a few things watching the battery stats:
-Network Location is active a lot, but its turned off in settings.
-Alarm manager is working almost all the time.
-The dialer is active a lot too, i used it only one time today.
-Other processes and apps are running too much i think
(scrolling the battery stats is pretty slow and laggy, this is probably the fault of the official base rom)

Banner thanks to SebianotiI've just noticed that this has made the XDA portal. It's been up on quite a few websites today that I've noticed, and I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the writers who have helped spread the word. If you are one of them, you're awesome!
This is a port of Jellybean, based off of the roms for the two nexus devices that were released yesterday. I'm working to add in all of the key features at the moment, and it's going pretty well, so you can probably expect to see some kind of Alpha release fairly soon.
It's based off the porting work done for CM9 for our phone in the topic here, with some help from randomblame in the #cyanogenmod-dev channel. (Thanks!)
Working
Core system with little to no crashes
Not working
Wifi
Radio
Audio
Camera
Ironically, the issue we've been trying to resolve with CM9 for this phone, the rotation bug, appears to be fixed here. Not sure whether to laugh or cry

Remember to flash the boot.img in the zip.
Progress log
Now based off of the Nexus 7 tegra rom. Things are running a lot smoother and with little to no crashes
Wifi firmware loaded, just need to get it talking with netd and we'll have wifi
I have been able to manually configure wpa_supplicant and it successfully scans for networks. The problem now is that the rest of Android seems to be having trouble communicating with wpa_supplicant.
To those PMing me asking about porting info: Don't expect there to be a simple cut and paste way to port. If you have no experience with porting or don't at least have an understanding of how android is structured, then I would advise you to read up before attempting this. I can provide targeted help if you have a specific issue, but I won't port it for you, and please don't be offended if I suggest you go do some reading.
If you still think you can do this, then here's a checklist of the major things you should look at to get it booting:
boot.img - Grab mine or any other jellybean boot.img, and pull the entire init.rc and init.traces.rc, and package it up with a cm9 boot.img
/system/lib/modules + /system/lib/hw - Modules must be brought across from a cm9 rom, and unless your device runs the same chipset as the base you're using (tegra for the n7, omap for the gn), you'll probably need to put all of the hw libs into there too
/system/etc/firmware + /system/vendor - You'll most probably need to pull both of these dirs into the rom
/system/lib/egl - You'll want all of the egl libs and egl.conf
Various /system/etc files - There's usually some configs, firmware, and other stuff in here
/system/lib - There's tons of files in here, a lot of which you'll need to bring over, and a lot of which you'll need to leave alone. Best advice I can give you is to find an open source cm9 tree for your device and check the proprietary-files.txt file
That's it. By now you should at least have it showing the boot animation. Now it's up to you and your debugging tools. strace is invaluable if you have a specific binary that doesn't want to load, it'll show you all of the system calls it makes and the errno if one gets set. Read through the logcat carefully and it'll probably tell you if you're missing any libraries or other files. Good luck.
Nice work so far! Can the 4.1 apps be ported back to 4.0.4?
This way we can use the new apps like the launcher and what not without using 4.1?

Exactly, when the source is out we can have fully working builds rather than ugly cooked up things, and I'm willing to live with ICS until then.
I don't get it... there is no Blackscreen while roating bug...
Overall nice to see!
I also worked on that the whole night got it nearly bootet up, my ramdisk was fine, the bins of my sdk may where broken...

Haha, you're right, there is no rotating bug! As I said, I probably couldn't have done it without help from the other SDK port that was done for another phone, if I'd known you were working on it too we could have worked together and had it done faster.

The only System dump that is really helpful is the one for the Nexus 7 cause that is an Tegra 3 driven Device!
What we really want is the AOSP Sourcecode so we can build up a nice and clean build!

So nvidia have released the source code for Tegra 3?
Cause i was reading a few weeks ago they had no intentions to do so, because it might release some code that's currently used as leverage against the competition.

Have you tried Android Auto? There's a thread here somewhere that has a ported version for our tablets. I run it on my nexus that's installed like a head unit in my dash. Android auto is pretty useful.
Like those softkeys you made though.

I'm running Timurs kernel so I'm stuck on Lollipop for the time being. That being said, if you upload the framework and systemui apks from your tablet I can give it a shot, no guarantees though since I won't be able to test it.

I do have only one issue which is that the icons are a bit small for my fat fingers, is there a possibility that you can modify the file ?
I really appreciate it.

Hello 7786 !
I really appreciate your APK that you've developed, it's amazing and definitely needs more recognition.
I do have only one issue which is that the icons are a bit small for my fat fingers, is there a possibility that you can modify the file ?
I really appreciate it.
Kind regards

Sorry just saw this. Even if I made the icons bigger, it won't increase the actual touch zone. You'll need to use a ROM that has navbar height modification, or install an xposed module such as Gravity Box.
MOD for Nexus 9 wifi 6.0.1
Hi 7786,
Are you planning to make this mod for Nexus 9 6.0.1? It would be much appreciated, and useful for car install.
Regards.

Been meaning to share this mod with you guys for a while now. This is for the nexus 7 2013 Factory 5.1.1 ROM (LMY48G). Also works on LMY48I

Bugs: The quicksettings/notification drop down gets shifted to the left. Unfortunately this will NOT be something I can fix so you'll have to live with it. Enjoy!

Hey If you want perfect car centre console experience from your n7 then install automate app from play store or sign into their beta in Google plus

Thats what I'm currently running and the zip will flash fine over this.
I'm running Timurs kernel so I'm stuck on Lollipop for the time being. That being said, if you upload the framework and systemui apks from your tablet I can give it a shot, no guarantees though since I won't be able to test it.

Not sure if you know or not but Timur is now making a MM version of his kernel which he states will be released 4/4/16. Your mod will be needed greatly especially if you plan on upgrading also.

Yup I recently saw that. Not sure if I'll upgrade yet, it would depend on the final price once it's released. If I do I'll update the mod and post it here. If I don't, I'll probably still update it at some point.
ive pushased timurs kernel for 22€ and realy hope u release a version for 6.0.1 soon! would love to the this Feature in the stock marshmellow rom...
Also waiting to upgrade to v4...still debating on the nexus 9 if timur supports it if not i will upgrade my n7
I've upgraded to Marshmallow with Timur's kernel and it would be awesome if it could be modded in the same way. You had said in an older thread you would try if someone uploaded the SystemUI.apk from 6.0.1 but you would be unable to test it so I'm willing to if you can modify it. Thank you so much!!

Hello guys. Thanks for your hardwork! Little question: where is a bug-list to this ROM?

Bug-list?? as in you expect there to be bugs so you want to know what isn't working?
We spend a lot of time testing each feature we add.
Yes true we cannot see everything.
For your "bug-list":
1.) Loud audio is distorted as with every lineage nougat build"
2.) You tell us.
Haha NICE
Very nice build. Even the visual voicemail works. Thanks!
New build is up!

Digging the ROM. Only 2 issues I've found. Low headphone audio (seems to happen with anything that touches CyanogenMod) and no audio in browser (chrome, chrome beta, Firefox, flash fox, dolphin) or on some apps (pocket mortys).
Just chiming in... happy so far. Very snappy rom and battery seems good. Haven't tried my headphones.
Many thanks
So, I love this rom. By far my favorite I have put on my m9, and up there on my list of top roms I've ever used. So far has been flawless, snappy and showing great battery life. However, I have been having camera issues. The first week, the camera would have issues opening from time to time, but would eventually kick in within a minute or so. A few days ago the camera gave out altogether. I was using the camera app that came with it, and I figured whatever, it's probably just a glitch. So I downloaded open camera. Same issue. Also the same with Google camera, and with the camera inside the Walmart app. They all just say "serious camera issue" and the screen stays black. I was wondering if I did something wrong or if there were any suggestions. I'll work on getting a log up, I just have been very limited on free time to sit down and mess with it.

I'm just using the stock camera app for pics / videos and having no issues. Perhaps just reflash the rom?
curious if we should we expect any more updates?

Sorry I thought I locked this thread. This rom no longer has my support. I no longer own this device.
Sorry.
