Greetings everyone. I wish to know more about flashing Resurrection Remix...
I watched the brief instruction on official XDA thread but I wish to know more detail...
- Current Phone Status -
My G3 D855, 32 GB memory, is running stock Android 4.4.2, ROM version “V10n-HKG-XX”, stock recovery, rooted with PurpleDrake (script by xda developer”. Kernel version 3.4.0. All things are stock except I have rooted, with SuperSU.
- Reason of wanting to flash Remix ROM -
I wish to change resolution to 1080x1920, even 720x1280. So I did this using build.prop editing and “wm size 1080x1920”,“wm density 480”. However in stock rom, build in LG apps like Phone, Messaging, Calender will crash. I fix this by installing Xposed & app settings with DPI 530. But I don’t quite want this to be the solution...
Plus I noticed there really are battery difference between 1440x2560 and lower resolution. So I started to think about custom Rom. I found that Resurrection Remix and Paranoid Android are quite slim, good looking, most importantly very customizable.
And Stock ROM has many software that I don’t need, so I wish to give it a try.
- My question -
I haven’t flash any custom rom before (I have flashed on my previous phone but messed up quite a bit).
- So I wished to know what is the prerequisite, anything that need to pay good attention into? I want to avoid bootloop or hard brick...
- Should I install official TWRP recovery on my current status and make a full system backup image? (is that called nandroid backup?)
- If any error occured, can I use TWRP recovery to restore everything in my current status (everything in stock but have root access)?
- Are the custom roms contain build-in Root access? Because I want the phone to be rooted.
- I use LG Flash tool 2014 to flash stock firmware kdz files), with CRC method to completely wipe the phone and back to stock. Is this method still applicable if I want to back to stock after flashing RR rom? Because I want everything to be clean each time I flash a new system...
- I watched YouTube video that changing AOSP rom resolution won’t mess up icons or apps. So I can still receive SMS, dial, calender sync to Google etc. Correct?
--------------------
Finally, I wish to flash the latest STABLE version of the Remix ROM / Paranoid Android ROM. Would be good to hear some recommendations. I wish things to be more customizable and slim. Thanks for reading this long article in advance!

Hello !
First of all I would like to thank the creators and developers for the amazing G Pad.
I've always wanted to try various roms and kernels, unfortulately I'm always encountering problems despite following tutorials...
For example I've understood that I need to flash the 4.2 stock base if I want to flash customs roms. When I do that, with a rooted device on which TWRP 2.7.0 is installed, the only thing the tablet does at startup (when I want to flash the rom) is running some sort of script and it reboots (and I get the initial configuration wizard)... I've also tried to wipe data/system/cache before flashing the 4.2 base but the script thing was still happening and of course the only way to get the tablet back to a usable state is running the LG support tool that flashes the default system.
Then, I've tried CM 11 based roms. It goes well, but for some reasons the tablet seems less responsible for things like the screen rotation, as compared with the 4.4 stock rom. I also have problems with Google Play Movies : I can't view movies in high definition. The same goes with Youtube, the maximum I can get is 720p (when the 4.4 stock rom allows me to viex in 1080p). Even with tuning the dpi scale with a root app these problems remain (although the global interface seems smaller).
And i've tried LG 4.2/4.4 stock based roms, but the android system or keyboard keeps crashing at startup...:crying:
So for the moment I'm stuck with the 4.4.2 LG stock rom. The LG interface is not bad but I don't really like it (less than pure android experience) and there is some lag especially when viewing videos. And there are some apps I never use. I can flash custom kernels to help with the gamma issues but that's all.
Maybe i'm missing something, in that case maybe someone here will help me to find the solutions. It would be great !
Hi all.
I've got an taiwanese HTC 10 which is on the MM firmware, but I wish to try the Nougat on a custom ROM.
I realise that there is plenty of ROMs, but it seems that's nobody intention to stay close to the stock experience.
Is there any "untouched" Nougat ROM available to flash for S-On devices running MM firmware?
By "untouched" I mean the minimum necessary changes to make things compatible.
Thank in advance.

...our rom looks and feels complete stock if you install it, we also use the stock htc kernel.
All modifications are optional and can be configured in our Tweaks control app or flashed over our hub.
If you still care about that then flash MaximusHD, that's really the closest to stock..still has some modifications like extenced APM and maybe some other.
Still not safisfied? Then flash the stock deodexed Dev Edition Rom. Fingerprint will be broken, flash this to fix it: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862688644
not sure what you mean with "minimum necessary changes to make things compatible" doubt any sense roms around here break stock features.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
I've tried your ROM, which is excelent, but I got a little problem with the camera app. If I take a picture on the Pro mode with RAW enabled, the RAW image does not follow the device orientation, and consequently the Google Photo app does not suggest enhances, because the RAW and the JPEG are different from each other. I need to take pictures only on landscape mode and only with the home button on the right side in order to work properly. As I never had the opportunity to test the completly stock Nougat ROM from HTC, I don't know if this problem is specific to your ROM or from the HTC's Nougat source code.
The other ROM that I've tried is LeeDroid. I found a bug on his ROM where the default audio profile does not turn ON when playing some music on my headphones, so everytime I need reenable my profile in order to make it to work again. The other minor thing is that he changed the wallpapers.
As I never had the opportunity to test the completely stock Nougat ROM from HTC, I can't be sure if those glitches are avoidable.

the roms are based on an unreleased WWE 2.28 leak...the offical WWE version will be 2.4x. Since it's a leak there seem to be a few bugs still. Should be sorted on the official one.
If you can't wait, you could s-off, change to dev ed cid and mid and flash the US Unlocked RUU.
For the issues with raw images...disable the google photo app and install the A9 Sense 8 Gallery and photoenhancer available in venomhub and check if it solves the issues.
Noob here. I have flashed and installed roms on only two other devices. It appears the oneplus 3 has a few more variables to consider. I have a brand new op3 a3000 with stock oos 3.2.5. My first thought was that if I just root the 3.2.5 rom I would save about a 1.5 gb of space on my future backup when I install PA 6.0.3 (meaning I don't upgrade to the latest oos before install the new rom). But now I see that there are different files for every version of oos for rooting and quite a few of those have different rooting processes.
So before my noob ass starts making assumptions I thought I would ask all of you if there is an ideal version of oos to root and install PA 6.0.3 (maybe 6.0.2 is better?) from, as well as the link for the best way to root for that version of oos. Thanks in advance for the help and, let me know if I have left out any necessary information about my device.

Hi all,
I'm new on this forum, so thanks for your help!
I'd like to install a custom ROM focused on privacy to avoid personal data leaks and spying. There seems to be plenty of options out there so I dont know which one to choose, and if it'll work on my phone.
I use:
- Lenovo vibe K5 plus A6020a46
- Android version 5.1.1
- Material version H201
Also I wonder if normally available apps will work on a custom ROM: I use quite a few apps for work and want to make sure I can keep them with me after I switch to a custom google-free spy-free ROM (xpl: spotify, nordvpn, tutanota, Mega, wordreference, Qwant...)
Any advice on ROMs and how to proceed (Can I just use TWERP?) is very welcome!
Thanks
Basically Stick to STOCK ROM and install privacy securing apps like NordVpn and Avast. I never saw any custom rom with focus on privacy. They're mainly made for either Battery Life increase or Performance.

It does work. If it doesn't let you install it, it's because you are on custom rom, but Magisk has a tweak to bypass it ( It modifies liboemcrypto.so) So it tricks Play Store into thinking you're on stock rom/without root. Else, if you still can't install an app it's either because your version of android does not support it ( you must be on a newer version, seek installing it through custom rom) or because it is made for a specific phone ( with another architecture, etc..) If the custom rom doesn't have play store, you'll need to reflash it and then flash also Gapps: https://opengapps.org/ . Also don't forget to factory reset after flashing a new ROM.
