Can't believe I never heard of this app for us Flashaholics!?!?
I discovered it just today.
We have Titanium Backup to backup/restore apps & message history.
We have TWRP to restore full ROM backups.
And now we have ROM Settings Backup Pro to back up and restore our custom ROM settings!!

Is the app perfect? No, not nearly.
But hopefully it's a work in progress and will continue to get better.
I emailed the dev with what did and did not work for me and I sure hope he's able to add more to the app.
Here's my experience with the app so far.
I setup my ROM the way I like.
Backed up the settings with the app.
Then clean wiped everything but local SD.
Then clean installed the same ROM file.
Then installed SuperSU and the app.
Then restored settings using the app.
Here is what worked vs. what failed.

Anyone here remember the old app from years ago that Dirty Unicorns had to restore settings on its ROM installs?
Man, whatever happened with that endeavor.

I noticed that it retained like 99% of Resurrection Remix's custom settings!
Edited the OP to reflect these.
I would have said 100% but it was unable to restore my custom location for weather temps.
This app is going to be a huge time saver for me when clean flashing ROM's.
I wonder how well it'll do going from say, RR to OctOS.

Using it for a long time.
Never good to restore from another roms settings.
But you can just make a backup for every rom.
Thought already knows about it.

The thing I remember most about it was users holding out on flashing the new updates. They were waiting on the backup app to be updated which sometimes took a day. Seemed like extra work for the du devs

Pretty sure I have a pro license and haven't used it in years. I might have to dig it out of the Play Store and give it a spin.

Q: How do I install this ROM?
A: Download the ROM from the "Download Links" section above, place the file on your phone's external SD card, and then flash via your recovery. First boot after flash takes a wee bit longer than usual.

To enable mass storage mode:
1) Plug your phone into the computer via USB and MTP will likely open as it usually does
2) Open a command prompt
3) Type: adb shell mountsd
At this point the phone's external sd card will open up in mass storage mode (so you can use it just like a usb drive). Be advised that mass storage and MTP cannot mount the SD card at the same time so MTP will show the SD card with folders empty and something like -1330850028 bytes of storage - don't panic, this is normal since, again, it can only be mounted one place at a time.

1) While still plugged in via USB
2) Open a command prompt
3) Type: adb shell unmountsd
Q: Why can't I "adb remount"?
A: This is a symptom of the locked down kernel. We've created a workaround for now.

We've added iwconfig. This lets you set wifi transmit power. Download "wifi tx power" from play store or run the following commands:
adb shell iwconfig wlan0 txpower X
X == txpower(in dBm). 32/25/18/11/4
To make sure it set run :
adb shell iwconfig
and look at TX-Power (3rd row down)

Multicarrier support was added for T-Mobile with r257 - anything before that will not work for T-Mobile. However, you should flash r290 or higher for proper T-Mobile support.

Synergy has best kernel for devices. So you might not want to switch kernel for this ROM.

About to try this!

just flashed about a hour ago, everything seems fine but one major problem is that the wifi button does not seem to work, it does not want to switch over, from either the settings menu or the from the status bar

+1. I selected the stock kernel at the installation and clean install ed

yea i downloaded the stock kernel as well when asked either stock or ziggys, think i should try ziggys kernel?

With ziggy and faux kernels everything works well.
Also with a stock Verizon kernel i had on my phone extracted somewhere...
Maybe other kernels will work... atm i only tested these.

just reinstalled rom again and when i was asked to choose either stock or ziggy kernel i now chose the ziggy instead of the stock and still same issue. for some reason it just doesnt let me turn on the wifi, the option is there, on the status bar as well as in the settings meno, but when i try to it just doesnt turn over in the settings menu nor does it even let u scan for wifi spots...and on the status bar it doesnt light up or respond whatsoever when clicked.

Download the r290 version. Op stated in the 2nd post that it was the recommended version for full T-Mobile support.

Using the Aroma Installer
This is a quick guide to using the Aroma Installer since this highly customized version may be slightly different from what you have used before.
Looks complicated, but is super easy. And I think you will appreciate the ability to customize your set-up without having to re-install the ROM.
Enjoy!
Be sure to select your carrier!
Installation:
Nandroid backup
Factory reset in recovery if coming from a non-TouchWiz ROM (backup internal SD Card contents first)
Flash in recovery (button or touch)
Aroma installer should start within ~5 seconds
Choose a theme (if the colors look borked, go back and choose the theme again).
After agreeing to the disclaimer and viewing the changelog, Choose either:
Install or Update ROM - Installs ROM
or
Add or Remove Features - Allows you to add or remove apps, launchers, etc without re-installing the ROM.

Install or Update ROM:
Choose either:
Full Wipe - Clean install wipes system, cache, Dalvik, and app & system data (no media, etc).
or
Update Wipe - Wipes system, cache, Dalvik (for current CSROM users only)
Choose desired options.
If you don't choose a launcher, the TW launcher will be installed.
If you install both AOSP and Samsung email you will get repeated FC's.
You can install both launchers and decide which one to use after boot.

Add or Remove Features:
Be sure to select everything you want included in the ROM, even if it is already installed on your device.
If any given item is not selected, it will either not be installed, or deleted if it is already installed.

Additional Info
If at any point Aroma hangs, hold the power button until device reboots recovery (10-15 seconds).
If install completes and you get a "Status 0" error after pressing "Reboot" in Aroma, just reboot the device.
Using the ROM

AOSP texting breaks MMS conversations in to separate messages
Quick Reboot not working
23 Toggle Mod: Some toggles don't work properly (talk to lidroid or wanam)
Group texting is not fully functional
RAZR Launcher and Circle Widget
Tapping the circles launches clock app, weather app, and battery stats
Swipe circles to flip them
Clock circle displays text notifications
Home screen is left most screen (not center)
Slide home screen right to see quick settings
Circle widget currently only works with RAZR launcher
Lockscreen wallpaper can not be changed with this launcher
AOSP Lockscreen:
When using the AOSP lockscreen you must de-select all other lockscreen options.
Multi-Window:
Press and hold the back button until menu bar pops up

Using the lockscreen torch:
The lockscreen torch will allow you to quickly turn on your flashlight from the lockscreen.
Simply push the home button in for torch, it will go off when you unlock, hit the power button, or it times out.
Themes
The themes are set up so it should be possible to easily switch from one to the next. If you find any remnants of the previous theme left behind, or any other issues, please report them. Providing screenshots is important because it is much easier than trying to describe the issue with words.
Reporting Bugs
This ROM has many options to choose from which can complicate resolving issues. Below is information you must provide if you wish to report a problem. If you do not include this information I will most likely not respond to your issue.
1) Did you do a clean install? If not, do not report any bugs.
2) Carrier

I would suggest you try. Make a nandroid and do the same as you would for other at&t ROMs. Certainly can't hurt
EDIT: checked other carom thread and didn't see it working for them but this is a different base. In say still try...nothing to loose.

Using the Aroma Installer
This is a quick guide to using the Aroma Installer since this highly customized version may be slightly different from what you have used before.
Looks complicated, but is super easy. And I think you will appreciate the ability to customize your set-up without having to re-install the ROM.
Enjoy!
Be sure to select your carrier!
Installation:
Nandroid backup
Factory reset in recovery if coming from a non-TouchWiz ROM (backup internal SD Card contents first)
Flash in recovery (button or touch)
Aroma installer should start within ~5 seconds
Choose a theme (if the colors look borked, go back and choose the theme again).
After agreeing to the disclaimer and viewing the changelog, Choose either:
Install or Update ROM - Installs ROM
or
Add or Remove Features - Allows you to add or remove apps, launchers, etc without re-installing the ROM.

Install or Update ROM:
Choose either:
Full Wipe - Clean install wipes system, cache, Dalvik, and app & system data (no media, etc).
or
Update Wipe - Wipes system, cache, Dalvik (for current CSROM users only)
Choose desired options.
If you don't choose a launcher, the TW launcher will be installed.
If you install both AOSP and Samsung email you will get repeated FC's.
You can install both launchers and decide which one to use after boot.

Add or Remove Features:
Be sure to select everything you want included in the ROM, even if it is already installed on your device.
If any given item is not selected, it will either not be installed, or deleted if it is already installed.

Additional Info
If at any point Aroma hangs, hold the power button until device reboots recovery (10-15 seconds).
If install completes and you get a "Status 0" error after pressing "Reboot" in Aroma, just reboot the device.

AOSP Lockscreen:
When using the AOSP lockscreen you must de-select all other lockscreen options.
Multi-Window:
Press and hold the back button until menu bar pops up

Battery options are located in Settings, Display, Battery Icon Style.
Using the lockscreen torch:
The lockscreen torch will allow you to quickly turn on your flashlight from the lockscreen.
Simply push the home button in for torch, it will go off when you unlock, hit the power button, or it times out.

Alright, I've given this a little test. Runs smoothly, love the ability to just flash mods in Aroma and not need to do a full install each time. Multiwindow working but I've never seen the point of it personally. I really like the way data drops to 3g when not being actively used, that'll help save some battery. I'll give this a test for a few days and see what kind of damage I can do to it.
Couple immediate gripes that perhaps are already being fixed or can be justified:
1. When a notification comes in it scrolls over top of the clock and can be hard to read, unlike other TW ROMs where the entire area clears so the text is the only thing visible (I'm using centered blue clock)
2. The notification bar icons and text seem overall too large for some reason, also I would be nice to edit the visible ones since some people don't use them all.
3. When highlighting text or autocorrecting a word as you type the field is green. I suppose this is minor and can be overlooked but my theme is blue and it jumps out every time.

If you read the OP it says to hold the back button to activate multiwindow. It's working without a problem for me.
My version says 4.1.2 so I'm going to guess that overall you didn't flash the correct ROM.

I'm using T-Mobile also, downloaded from this thread. I just noticed and doubled checked because of my signature that I'm listed as the i747 which is interesting. It does show 4.1.2 for sure in the about device for me. I also don't remember selecting my carrier now that I think about it, did you?
I'm gonna do another fresh install and see what's up. Hmmm

Ah ha! I found the problem. What happens is when you select T-Mobile while installing all the goodies. Apparently my finger wasn't read the first time o did it and missed some of them, one of which is the carrier selection at the very bottom. Now that I've picked that it shows the proper device but the wrong version. Its probably just a typo in the script that I hope is fixed next release.

This ROM is based on the Android Open Kang Project (AOKP). The idea to start a ROM based off AOKP with added features for us was started out of curiosity and boredom. We started compiling ROMs for personal use and later started sharing them. After sharing it with a few people, we decided to take it a step further and fine tune the way we do things. Since then, is been nothing but fun and a true learning experience for all of us involved. We've received high praise from not only users but fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. Our 4.2.2 version made it onto various devices to include the HTC One, Galaxy Nexus, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO LTE, Nexus 4 and some other devices. We hope to do the same with our 4.3 version.

Just ported/flashed to my Cappy. Running great! I used the latest hellybean kernel though. Still great work, thanks for the great ROM!

Until now, the ROM runs really good. It is fast, smooth & responsible. The first bug I've found: System settings gives FC when trying to set Quiet hours.

good afternoon, I tried to install this rom 2 times and the screen stays black. I do not have bootanimation thing is not a problem, the wrong I've waited like 8 minutes to boot without success

Have you wiped all before install it (cache/dalvik/data/system)? On which version this happened?
I'm asking because I've just tried froma clean install and have no problem with booting.

in the latest version, I did full wipes cache and format system, data, and datadata

It runs amazing for me on the cappy. I've had it under heavy use for the past day or two and the performance and battery life have been fantastic. No reboots, no fc's

- Why?
Because Xiaomi's official websites are too messy and not being updated regularly! You will spend a lot of time searching for a ROM on the official websites. You will also find the latest updates there, meanwhile, MIUI Updates Tracker has every single update of every device since 2014 organized and easy to access!
- Are these official downloads?
Yes! We don't touch updates' files at all. Actually, all download links are from MIUI servers directly, we don't have enough space to mirror more than 25K ROM files.
- How to update?
Recovery updates can be installed using the official updater app inside your device settings, but keep in mind that only stable updates can be installed like this. If the update is a stable beta you might not be able to install it. After downloading the MIUI update, whether the incremental or the full one, open the updater from settings then click the 3-dots menu and choose Install from a local file, then select the downloaded MIUI zip. If you can't see this option, click on MIUI logo in the updater several times till you see a message that tells you more features have been enabled.
Fastboot updates can be installed using MiFlash official tool, but you must unlock the bootloader of your device first. Here's a good guide about flashing the official updates: Flash official ROMs | XiaomiWiki.
- Excuse me. What is stable beta?!
Basically, Xiaomi releases stable updates in gradual phases in which an update reaches some devices randomly but not all devices. Then, after some days if the update was stable enough they release it to everybody via OTA along with releasing fastboot package. In a nutshell, the update that doesn't have fastboot version is not a fully released stable update yet.
- Can I flash an update of region X if I am using a version of region Y?
No, to switch regions you will have to unlock the bootloader and flash the fastboot ROM of the region you want to switch to.
- Which devices do your project support?
All Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices including China-only devices.
