I've decided to do nightly builds of Dirty Unicorns ROM, based on Android 7.1.1. These are unofficial builds not maintained by the DU team, but by myself. I will try to keep up with builds every day to keep you all updated with the changes to the DU Nougat Robin version, but I can't promise I won't miss a day here and there.
Personally, I'm running this ROM on my Robin, and I think the battery, performance, UI, features/tweeks are great! My new daily driver. Very solid. Not quite as fast as Omni, but still very nice.
So have fun. Reply with any bugs that aren't related to the DU team itself. Thanks.

This will be up on afh in a couple hours. Doing testing and then I'll put it up for you guys to try. Give me a bit and keep checking back.
There's nothing in the link to download...
First build is up on afh. Go download. Have fun and let me know what you think.
Thanks.
Things that don't work that I've found so far:
Calling has an audio issue.
Camera has FC with video record
Calling audio issue is resolved now. Check github

Are you a member of the team? Or just playing Forum copper? Per forums rules you are supposed to use the report button. Attempting to or causing a scene in someone's thread is not allowed.
On Topic: This rom has calling issues. The phone will call out or receive calls, however it just clicks in ear. People you call or call you do not hear you. Does the same with mic on. Click, click, click. Everything else works like a charm tho lol.

I'm pretty sure that only applied to official builds. Being that this is an unofficial build and it's AOSP/CAF based it's open source so there should be nothing wrong with posting an unofficial build. Anyways, back on topic.
Played around with it earlier today and as reported previously everything but the calling works.
dpryor88 let me know if you fix the calling issues, I liked the rom. But I need calling lol.
Check the official thread on devs base
How does this compare to battery life on Omni?
Calling issues still there

Well, that's it for now - we technically don't maintain the recoveries, so you'll have to talk to the folks that support them directly. This particular one is the stock CM recovery that we added external_sd support to and it is build with the proper SELinux capability to prevent the reboot of doom seen with the CM10.1 based recoveries.
Ohhh yeah, just saw this drop on g+. Downloading now, thanks for the hard work. Will report back once up and running

If you do that, you are on your own. The 10.1 recoveries do not know how to deal with the SELinux capable file system properly. You can run into some major snags that way.
This recovery, although it's very basic, works just fine for flashing zips and taking backups. Plus, it is the only one right now for the Hercules and Skyrocket that correctly works with the new filesystem for 4.3

Oh alright. Guess no twrp then Lol. Thanks for the work! Appreciate it
No sweat man, I"m sure it's only a matter of time before the appropriate changes are made to TWRP and CWMR Touch. Our device is a bit of an oddball in how the storage volumes are setup, so this issue was really unique to us with 4.3
Woohoo! Thanks devs! This phone will remain me for a long time to come so this gives me a smile
Once again, thanks and I will flash and report back :good:

so far so good, just missing the options to disable touch keys from lighting up. Going back to 4.2.2 until mainline nightlies show up.Also lack of TWRP is upsetting.
Thanks for the work you've been doing for us!! Can't wait for a dayly driver!
The only bug I've been able to spot so far is that there is still a reboot issue when accessing the external SD card from a gallery app. I can use quickpic just fine, but once I hit the SD card folder, the phone locks up and inevitably reboots.
Other than that, this is a very good alpha build of Android 4.3! Great work TeamChopsticks!

The recovery link isn't working.... anyone have a mirror that isn't d-h.st?
Edit: Finally downloaded...
Edit: anyone know if advanced settings are making a come back any time soon?
Man, I feel so late joining the 4.3 party.
Anyway, just flashing the CWM for CM10.2 now. Its not TWRP but as long as I can still revert back to my nandroid backup made with TWRP in case things go wonky, I'll be fine.
So far, CM10.2 alpha builds for Hercules runs great: feels a bit smoother than 4.2 and faster.

Thanks so much for the hard work devs this is great!!!

So it looks like you and Pandasa123 are both working on CM12 builds. Will these two be merged, or will they be separate?
Thanks for the build. I flashed it and so far it seems great for a beta. The only issue I'm having other than the camera is lte is iffy, sometimes it works but most of the time it won't. It was the same for other LP builds. I'm on the NE4 bootloader if it matters, if you want a logcat let me know and I'll try to grab one.
Thanks again for making a build for our phone.

It is always safer to wipe first, then flash the rom clean. Less chance of something going wrong.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Instructions
First time flashing CyanogenMod 13.0 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s).

Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
Broken Features / Known Issues
VIDEO ENCODER/DECODER ISSUES: This results in green lines on videos/pictures taken using the Intel HW encoder/decoder and other playback issues dependent on video formats. See the list below:
Snapchat: thin greeen line tends to appear on recorded videos for snapchat
Asus Pixelmaster Camera App: Super resolution mode does not work. Turning off "Optimizations" from settings clears up any green line issues.
Some video formats do not play as expected
FM Radio is unsupported.
audio is a little weird in Real Racing 3.
sim 2 cannot be disabled (this is true for all CM builds on non qualcomm hardware)
Other than Fugu (Nexus Player TV box) there are no Vendor released M x86/x86_64 builds in existance. You may experience some issues with GAPPS and some known apps not loading or working correctly. Below is a list of KNOWN apps that do not currently run on CM13 based x86 Zenfone 2 builds :
Ingress, Polaris Office, Chase Mobile, Showbox...

FAQ
Does Official TWRP work?
* Yep
* Unified recovery builds as of TWRP 3.0.0-0, same build for both Z00A/Z008
Can I use a custom kernel with these builds?
* At your own risk, don't complain here if something gets broken in the process
*Also, doing so makes any feedback useless to us because the kernel and the ROM are a complete package and changing part of that means you may have broken something beyond our control.
Will this be an Official ROM?
* When all the show stopping bugs are fixed and all the upstream commits are merged, yes.
* Until then, no because CyanogenMod has very high standards for accepting new devices.
* As of 3/17/16 we now have official builds
Do I need to unlock the bootloader?
* Yes.
Upgrade from CM-12.1 ?
* Tools have been put in place to make upgrading from 12.1 nightlies smooth however backups are always recommended. Make a backup and attempt upgrade from 12.1 -> 13.0. Make sure to Flash 6.0 gapps at the same time. 6.0 only applies the proper permissions for system apps on first boot.
* If the above fails to load smoothly, restore your backup, take the necessary backups of apps and such and make a clean flash upgrade instead.
EXTERNAL SDCARD in M
* There were major changes in AOSP in the handling of storage.
* Two options :
(1) used as external storage. Removable, plug and play storage like we all know and love.
(2) used as Adoptable storage. non removable, Sdcard becomes an extenstion of your /data partition. Removing Sdcard will cause signifigant data loss.
* On first boot you are presented with the option to choose how to handle your sdcard. CHOOSE WISELY
* read more about this feature in this article from android central
Green lines on Pixelmaster camera/Snapchat
* In the Asus camera app disable "Optimizations", this should clear green lines/distorted pictures here.
* In Snapchat, issue is far less intrusive and there is no workaround.
FM Radio
* Currently this is unsuported. As of yet we have not managed to figure out how Asus made this feature work. Should we figure that out We'd love to support it but until then it is not a high priority issue to resolve. ** UPDATED** I found some source code for the FM radio implementation but it's clearly marked as proprietary and unuseble by us at this time.
Call Recording
Native Call Recording is a feature that while only legal in some countries, has become very popular on CM.
Currently we do not have full audio HAL source for Intel devices and have no way to implement this in CM for this device.
C-APPS
They're are currently no C-APPS packages for CM-13. Due to the way M handles system app permissions this is not likely to be available at any time in CM13.

Updates issues and notes on upgrading from cm-12.1 .
RIL connectivity is not very good right now, requires manual setup on most sims. Clean install w/gapps is preferred, but CM team goes to great lengths to make sure upgrade path is smooth so a flash-able update from 12.1 nightly "should " work fine. Just make sure to flash your gapps w/ROM prior to rebooting. Flashing gapps later is not something that is going to work well for you.

Any reason why?
I've decided to do nightly builds of LineageOS 14.1, based on Android 7.1.1. These are unofficial builds not maintained by Lineage, but by myself. I will try to keep up with builds every day to keep you all updated with the changes to the Lineage Robin version, but I can't promise I won't a day here and there.
The point is so you have the changes made which haven't been put out on an official build yet, since Lineage team doesn't seem to build that often (not yet at least).
So have fun. Reply with any bugs that aren't related to LOS itself. Thanks.

Very interesting. Thank you for doing this. Lineage nightlies are actually weekly, and they haven't been specifically updated for Robin. So, this is really something good.
I'll try it as soon as i have the time.
Keep us updated.
No build today. Sorry. Busy doing a build of slim7. Nighties of LineageOS start again tomorrow.
If you'd like to try my slim7 build, I'll start doing nightlies of that also for you to flash.

Check this forum now. I put a new thread up for slim7. Have fun. Give me feedback there..
New build up on afh. File size has reduced a lot. Gonna flash it myself to see what's up. Let me know what you think.
So... Let me get this straight... The LineageOS devs make daily changes to their ROM but only release builds weekly for the Robin? Sigh... I'll never get some people... (Who thought that was a good idea?)
Anyways, thanks for the nightlies!
I've decided to do nightly builds of Slim7 ROM, based on Android 7.1.1. These are unofficial builds not maintained by the SlimRom team, but by myself. I will try to keep up with builds every day to keep you all updated with the changes to the slim7 Robin version, but I can't promise I won't miss a day here and there.
The point is so you have the changes made which haven't been put out on an official build yet, since Lineage team doesn't seem to build that often (not yet at least).
So have fun. Reply with any bugs that aren't related to the Slim team itself. Thanks.

It's in beta technically I think, but it runs great in my opinion. Better than lineage in performance I think.
Thanks will flash tonight.
Sent from my Robin using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I tried last night but wasn't able to get it to boot. Going to try again later tonight.
Initial thoughts about Slim7
So i tried Slim 7 yesterday. Performance wise its good. Moderate performance as all other 14.1 ROMS available out there. Little better score than Lineage. Battery backup still needs to be improved. It's not that great.
One little annoying bug i noticed is that the volume level automatically goes low after some interaction with any UI element during music playback.. E.g. If I am playing music, just locking the screen lowers the volume level automatically. It happens with any UI interaction and is random. One can reproduce it in the same way.I'm not sure if this does happens with notifications too.
Otherwise all the OS is awesome as Slim7 as been the ROM of my choice.
I can confirm that the performance is quite a bit better than Lineage. Really love the extra features such as Navbuttons, and fingerprint sensor not requiring phone to be unlocked. However, when i bench-marked it, it the performance is on par with Lineage, but not nearly as good as OmniROM. There is a bug with the battery icon in status bar on the lock screen showing as out of battery with "!" in red at all times regardless of actual battery. Looking forward to seeing more development on this ROM. Keep up the good work OP!
Sorry for the delay on the next build.
A build for today should be up on afh in a few hours.
New build is up. Let me know what you think.
So far everything is running as they should. Flashed latest build last night. Only thing I've encountered was I'm unable to turn off heads up notification or peeking notification. Tried holding the settings icon until it spins but it doesn't work. Other than that everything is smooth so far.

Just tried this ROM. Though the battery icon issue in the lock screen was fixed, overall this ROM doesn't seem as smooth as I was expecting. Did some benchmarking for popular ROMs for this device and i've attached the results. OmniROM is by far the best performing ROM for this device, though features-wise, I wouldn't say it's the best.

I appreciate seeing these test scores, thanks for posting them.
At the same time, it's good to remember this :

Personally, unless I'm harassed by lags and glitches, features trump test scores.

I understand people have different preferences for what they're looking for in a ROM, but I have to say from my own experience, Omni's performance, smoothness, and battery life is superior enough to keep me on it for a while. Though I really do enjoy the customizable Navigation bar feature on this ROM-definitely the best and most customizable I've seen in any ROM. Really trying to push Omni developers to take it on.
I hear you. I only used omni for a few hours, and it did give an outstandingly smooth impression. Slim6 seemed to have more trouble than omni6 staying in Doze, which hurt relative battery, but that gap went away when I put in Greenify beta. Don't know if Slim7 is any better than 6 w/o Greenify.
So, I think am enjoying the nav bar features, which I like too, without any specific downside. So far, anyway.
Building Slim7 0.13 right now. Should be online in a few hours.
New 0.13 build is up. Have fun.

Can we get a changelog for each update? Wanna flash it, but I kinda want to know what fixes/features are done in each nightly
I'm running the latest build and i'm noticed a tiny bug. Let's say I'm watching a video on YT and a SMS notification comes in, the video will keep playing with no sound until I press the volume rocker.
Not a huge deal but something to look at. Excellent ROM , very stable, fast and most importantly the FP works 99% of the time
Thank you dev!
New build (still 0.13) will be up with a lot of new commits added. Should be finished and uploaded to AFH within the next few hours. I'll keep you guys updated when it's online.
I realize 0.14 should be up tomorrow or the next day, so you can try this build or wait a day or two.
