Downgrade Android 7.0 a 6.0.1 Galaxy S6 Edge+ (G928F) - Galaxy S6 Edge+ General

Sorry but what are you on about? Android 7.0 hasn't even been released for this device yet....

This is all well and good but as stated by Alex Android 7 isn't out for S6 edge + yet. And I'm pretty sure when it does come out it will change the boot loader and reverting back to 6.0.1 will cause imei and baseband loss.

If it came out but not officially since the rom filter is that of developers

I was on Nougat multiple times (Khongloi S7 port ROM and DevBase 7.0 ROM modifications), returning to MM was as easy as going to TWRP and flashing a MM ROM, without any bootloader business involved... In my case I simply flashed the V15 Note 7 port by Khongloi, and I was back on MM without any bugs or problems. And if you didn't notice, the firmware in this guide includes a bootloader, so even in the case of the bootloader changing with Nougat, there would be no issue reverting back. I've downgraded my Note 4 from Marshmallow to Kitkat multiple times (for testing purposes), and it's as easy as doing the same steps that are provided in this guide
Go down to the development section, you can see that there are multiple Nougat ROMs that exist for this device already, all based on a leaked base ROM that was meant for app developers. The ROM is nowhere near to finished, it drains battery and the performance is poor, and for that reason many users will consider downgrading, and this thread works for that purpose

No, the performance and battery life ratio really is worse in the ROM, it doesn't benchmark even close to stock MM and battery drains fast on some occasions

This might be due to the fact that they are ports of 7.0.
Im just warning people that update to official when it comes out that it has been known that it updates files that once done cannot be reverted back or it will cause problems, one being the null baseband/imei.
But yes, reverting back at the moment is as easy as flashing a 6.0.1 rom or stock firmware.
Either way hopefully people back up their efs!

i updated to an official 7.0 firmware and now i can't flash 6.0.1 bootloader. Any ideas or am i stuck at 7.0?

Well hopefully people will back up their EFS which is a MUST do before starting to flash roms etc.
If you have I think you can use odin to go back to 6.0.1 and then restore the backed up EFS from that version of Android.
Other than that you're stuck on nougat roms.
If you have reverted back to older and you lose imei and/or baseband then you'll need to reinstall nougat rom to get the imei/baseband back.
But as I haven't flashed an official nougat rom I can't say if this will all work or not. I'm going by past experience when I did this with jellybean - kitkat on my old phone.

Yes it's possible but we need to flash on top our (tmobile) kernel.
I also can't find our tmobile frimeware tar (for odin in case of bootloop)
Damn....booooooring
Hmm I'm downloading the TMO firmware from SamsungUpdate to start, but it's gonna take another 6 hours because of their metered connection -_-.
We'll see how that works out, but ideally I'd be 100% debloated and rooted with Samsung Pay working.
Don't think that'll be possible, but at least we're dealing with unlocked bootloader devices haha

any lucks for the SM-G928C ?

Guys, the phone is running great!
Updating for the sake of updating isn't always a good thing when out of the box it's actually working well!
When a device has problems there are threads everywhere of complaints. When a device works things are quiet usually with just the usual how to question. Of course everyone wants root, when it comes it comes. Be patient!

I do not believe you have to do anything.
While yes, both are version 5.1.1, if you look at the last 4 digits of your firmware build number you should see AOGD. The new firmware build number ends in AOH2, showing this is a newer build date. Nothing major, probably just a few under the hood changes, which usually means a liitle better performance.

what about the root-ability?
If you are rooted on an older firmware, and you flash a stock rom via Odin you will lose your root access. So long as your phone model can be/is rooted on your current firmware, after you flash the newer firmware just follow the same steps to root your phone again.

[All working except call audio and BT] [Nougat] [MM and LP bootloader] Desolation ROM

Hello XDA, I have been working on an Aosp-ish nougat rom for our beloved trltetmo. It has nearly no features yet, since it's an AOSP ROM. I'm a Nexus dev, and just recently started working on the trltetmo because I bought one. I had a marshmallow rom and kernel(but tend not to release stuff to anyone to avoid drama and the eta requests).
Downloads: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=111459
I have uploaded my work to GitHub: http://github.com/TrlteNougat
For now until I get my gpu back, you have to flash this kernel for MM bootloader support: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862667083
Known issues:
- Camera is wonky. It's going to be difficult to fix
- The phone acts like it's a dual sim phone, no usability is sacrificed, it just shows two APN settings and the carrier on Dialer
Features:
None yet, it's AOSPish
What is being worked on:
Bluetooth
Call audio (mixer_path issues)
The kernel source is up: https://github.com/TrlteNougat/kernel_samsung_trlte/commits/n7.0
Manifest located here: https://github.com/TrlteNougat/manifest
Nice! Subscribed.
Test build
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24723757092306996
This one doesn't reboot randomly. Still has ril and Bluetooth errors. Sound doesn't work. Camera does.
I m not dev. But great to see work on 7 ...cheers to all devs...hoping for a stable one soon thx again
I'm keeping my eye on this thank you
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
Ril is now partially working. I can send and receive texts. Calls cause a soft reboot, but shouldn't be hard to fix. Still no data connection yet, but that'll be fixed soon enough. Wifi connects but doesn't access internet for some reason. I haven't looked into that any.
Because why not
improper bootloader and in some cases modem can cause Wi-Fi to behave similar to how you have described. I'm not a TMO user but I think there should be several versions newer than OK2
if you have any desire to return to 5.1.1 or keep the option open to do it in the future, you may want to steer clear of the newest 2 or so bootloaders as they may prohibit further downgrading. if TMO is anything like Sprint, anything PE2 and older should still permit downgrades. newer versions I have not tested or seen any info on the topic.
[QRCODE][/QRCODE]ok I did a quick check and you are in fact on a 5.1.1 modem. I don't know if you've updated your bootloader but I get the feeling you would know if you have or not lol
all TMO MM firmware is newer than the Sprint firmwares (PB5, PC1, PD1, PE1, PE2) that I know to not prohibit downgrades, so you're on your own there.
if you believe the test builds to be compatible with the Sprint model, I'd be happy to help test as time allows for it

910T can be downgradable to DOK2 but not below that (unless you use work around and flash 910T2 firmware, which will allow you to go to 4.4.4 BL , and still can come back to latest) but thats a different story, regardless of that , however , you can anytime switch among DOK2 to PE3 to PG2 in any order. I think android N for 910T should be tested on EPG2 and not on DOK2 , atleast should give it a try on EPG2. I think the dev @USA-RedDragon , already must have tried all bootloaders and basebands , i m just replying to above posts.

I tried EPE3 on mm but got too frustrated with the issues. So I've been weary to try it again. But you do have a point that I should try with newer bl/modem combos. I've got a mm rom compatible with epe3, so I might as well flash that. The Odin files are on my desktop staring me down
Side note, the logs point to something bring wrong wkth the code and not a bl/modem -> rom compatibility. But I could be wrong. Never hurts to try

BLN-L24 links have bad key in the Honor 6x Repository thread

Need to rollback, or be advised of any custom ROMS that work..
Try Elite ROM from ROM section. it should work fine.
I personally would not recommend installing Elite ROM as it is more hassle than it is worth when you try to switch ROMs. It re/debrands your device and even after restoring a nandroid your audio will not work nor will your camera function properly. What files have bad keys? I put a lot of those up and the keys should work fine....
@shashank1320 check the links in the BLN-L24 section....something got messed up when you copied my links as mine work.
@ghostair is your device bricked? IMO none of the ROMs for this phone are worth installing on a main phone because there is too much functionality lost, no disrespect to the devs. Elite ROM does have the least amount of bugs but it is a hassle as I mentioned earlier. My main gripe about it is when installing and uninstalling apps you must restart the device in order for the apps to be added or removed from the app drawer....its a major annoyance.

No it's not bricked, actually I am on TWRP 3.1.1-0, it was only EliteROM's version that didn't work. I haven't even been able to use the phone at all, for a week, and am currently on LineageOS 13 as it was only release that works for my model it seems.

Im confused....your original post says you need to rollback but you say you are currently on LOS 13?? Rolling back refers to downgrading from Android 7.0 (Nougat) to 6.0.1 (MM) but you are already on MM if you are running LOS 13. You also say your device is not bricked but then in the next sentence say you havent been able to use it at all for a week.....and lastly you say LOS 13 was the only release to work for your model yet every single ROM in the development forum can be flashed to the BLN-L24, I know because I have done it.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Your posts are contradictory and make no sense. Id be glad to help but you gotta give me something to work with here.
Im assuming you did not make a full backup in TWRP before flashing any ROMs, in which case you have learned a valuable lesson....always have a backup. But since you dont we will get you back to EMUI which I assume is what you mean when you say roll back.

I understand, I probably should have just used, "go back," to EMUI. Since LOS 13 isn't usable in the least, as I can't make calls, and it drops LTE.
If they work then how? I followed everything, flashing vendor.img with fastboot, then flashing the respective zip?
I'd rather not go back to EMUI, it's why I haven't been able to actually "use it as a phone," since purchase.
Why would you not want to go back to EMUI? Its smooth and everything works. EMUI is the reason you havent been able to use it as a phone?? There is not one single ROM for this device that works entirely and has full functionality. You're always going to be missing something whether its the camera, LTE, calls, etc.
You're going to have to go back to EMUI so you can update to Anrdoid 7.0 (be sure to make a full backup) and then flash away all the ROMS you like and you will see they are all broken in some way. This is most definitely not the phone to use if you are looking for polished ROMs.
My last tip before departing......download the flashable vendor zip if you still want to mess around with the ROMs, it makes life much easier. Its in one of the threads in that forum I think AOKP

Need help on Galaxy Note 2 N7105

Hi Guys,
I have switching roms in these few months. Recently, I tried to use back the stock rom N7105XXUFOB2. Everything went normal until I found 2 problems:
1. imei is blank with /01 when typing *#06#, but baseband was shown and I can still get the network. (My mistake for not backing up the efs folder)
2. GPS not found, tried with google map and waze but same issue. Tried with gps status also to no solution. (No satellite at all)
Then, I went for customs rom, GPS works and network works as per normal but with imei blank and baseband display. Anyone got idea on how to resolve it?
Appreciated if anyone can help.
Where did you get the stock ROM? Is that the latest stock ROM for the phone?
I found these stock ROMs: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?exact=1&q=GT-N7105

I have forgotten where I downloaded it. But definitely not sammobile as it requires user login.
Below is the version I use.
PDA/AP Version: N7105XXUFOB2
CSC Version: N7105OLBFOD1
MODEM/CP Version: N7105XXUFNI2
Region: Singapore (singtel)
Are you saying that the stock rom I am downloading is not genuine or somehow corrupted?
Is that possible that imei blank, baseband still around and mobile signal works as per normal? Because I am facing it. lol.
By the way, in 4.4.2, is there anyway to do screen mirroring to samsung tv? Firstly, it mentions 'Unable to Start Screen Mirroring because of Hardware Issues'. Then I checked online and edit build.prop file by adding in “wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable“. Then the hardware issue quote is gone but the tv screen is blank.
I would flash the latest stock ROM from updato.com.
I'm not sure how you can get any cell or data service from your carrier without success valid IMEI.

Ya, it is very weird. But just to confirm again. If I reflash the rom from the website you mentioned, Is that possible to fix the blank imei issue? I think it is going to be 50-50.
I have tried googled this issue, I found some said to change imei using mtk tool, does it apply to galaxy note 2 as it mentioned works for Mediatek devices and not sure about others?
Just a friendly reminder that XDA does not permit any discussions related to changing an IMEI.
Flashing the latest stock ROM will sometimes being back the IMEI.

Understood. I found the same rom in updato, just wonder why some roms with same android version but different pda version so late? (Eg, France (Orange) (FTM), N7105XXUFQH1, 4.4.2- 17 Sept 2017)
Is it just because the rom is being updated late in updato?

Oh I see, never mind then.
The problem on the stock firmware is that manufacturer has already abandoned the phone. Therefore, many apps have been discontinued and that's why the screen mirroring is not working. But I trully love the stock camera app compared with custom rom. :crying:
Now I'm using custom rom and will continue monitoring first.
Anyway, thanks again.
I think the note 2 has decent hardware and could probably run 6.0 with no problem but Samsung would sell fewer phones

Ya, you are right. I am not using custom rom resurrection remix nougat version. The camera is not as smooth as the stock camera which is sad for me. My wife did complain to me that the phone with this rom was lagging, which led me to back to stock firmware.
But now I am back to same rom so far is ok, only that I need to make sure the phone can run smoothly and I will be happy to use it. Cheers.

HTC 10 Oreo Battery --> SHOULD I ROOT?

Hello, I am new to XDA and I have an un rooted HTC 10 international unlocked model on software 3.16.401.2. My HTC used to have excellent battery before the Oreo update. I did multiple tests and checks to see what the issue could be and have ruled out rogue apps or hardware issues.
I have never rooted any of my phones before but I am desperate as the battery has tanked so badly
NOW TO THE POINT
I am looking for advice on:
1. If rooting my device and using a custom version of Oreo will actually improve battery issues. (Are there others who rooted for the reason I'm considering, if so did you actually notice an improvement?)
2. If so, what is the safest/most newbie friendly method of me doing this.
PLEASE NOTE: I am very satisfied otherwise with the standard features. I have switched between htc sense launcher and smart launcher but otherwise use the phone very conventionally. I am not opposed to different features but I essentially would like to have as close to what I have now without the battery issues.
(Sorry in advance if there are 100 similar threads I'm already very concerned I'll mess
this up and manage to brick my phone so I am just trying to get clear information in a thread that's not oversaturated and is written in a layman friendly (PLEASE ) way)
Thank you everyone!

1: No, routing your OS won't be the fix for your battery problems.
2: it's the way everybody had to do it, unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP with fastboot and flash a custom rom. It's all explained in the guides section.

Thanks for your response! I am currently doing more research now after reading your helpful comment ?. Would I still be able to use the phones default launcher (HTC sense in my case) after unlocking the bootloader and flashing a custom rom or will every part of the UI now be different?

What about gaining S-Off and reverting to Nougat and Nougat firmware? Seems with all the battery complaints that came along with the Oreo update, there is some validity in asking such a question.

Yes as long as you flash a sense based rom the UI will not change.

You can also downgrade without s-off but it's a bit trickier, there is a dedicated thread in the guides section that covered this. Have a look there for all info, there is also a video in that specific thread that shows how to do it.

But the basic question is also relevant, yes you can gain s-off and downgrade by flashing the firmware and then the ruu or a custom nougat rom.
