Updating M9 via Htc Sync Manager - Verizon HTC One (M9)

Hi guys! I was trying to install the Marshmallow (3.37.605.19) update via Htc Sync Manager but it kept saying 'Not enough space on the disk..', however, i have plenty of free space available. Can anyone guide me as to what could be the solution? Thanks.

Any other way to update it? Right now, i'm not on Verizon so unable to download it directly on the phone. Now, this method is also failing.
I remember flashing the update on M8 manually by entering the download mode and all that stuff. Does that work for it as well?

bug? factory reset.
Does anyone else have this problem? I just synced everything to my phone. Want to avoid a reset if possible.

update your hTC one X to latest firmware (eg: 1.29.xxx.xx) and it solved the missing space in HOX.

I tried checking for updates. It said its up to date. Is it because my phone is new.
And not yet in the system?

Did you transfer anything to your phone via USB. If you did check the LOST.dir folder, its probably full of useless files that you can delete

You haven't given us much to go on...
what is your current software version?
Your carrier may not have released the 1.29.xx.11 update yet.
If your software is NOT 1.29.XXX.11 (XXX being dependent on your carrier/region) then see this thread. In a nutshell: update and you will have problem fixed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630914
The latest firmware solves this.
Dial *#*#CHECKIN#*#* and then try to redownload firmware perhaps?

I had this same problem previous. The only way I could get round it was to:
1.Copy the contents of the SD Card on the computer.
2.Format SD Card in FAT32 (Standard format)
3. Copy the files back over.
This gave me my full space back and I haven't ran into the same problem.
It seems to be due to Android reserving mass amounts of space on the SD Card for some reason, but no true conclusion has been reached as to why. Some people get it. Some people don't.
But that should resolve the problem and stop it from occurring.

What's a swap script? It seems a little weird to show 360mb...... Why not show the 512mb and then what's used? And yeah saying it has 4 gb internal is messed up too. I can only use 967mb. But I have a 16gb card not too big of a deal.

I think first he must ask the rom developer about the swap otherwise the script will run but it wont work like it had with me

your phone is completely fine
ignore the fools
internal memory is 4GB but look at the back of your mobile box
It is stated that: the operating system utilizes some of the phone storage
its kinda hard to read coz its written in very small letters

Not enough space?

I was updating an app and my notification bar said that I didn't have enough space. But I have 11gb internal and 12gb on my external memory card.

"I have a phone, and it isn't powering up." See, no one can make the head and tail of it.
Sorry about that pun, but I only wanted to tell you that more info is needed than throw some statement that would attract no more than some blind solutions.
Tell more details, like say, what's the free space? Did you check with any disk space explorer app?
Perhaps you're looking at total space, and not available space, and you may have the emulated storage bug, eating up your space.
Are you using lucky patcher?

Yes I am using Lucky Patcher. And I was looking at my storage via "holding home" and checking thru that way.

I also was disapointet when i mentioned that there are only 3GB App-space on the N7.
But CM11 is on the way and this will fix the problem (unified storage).
Also an Oppo-Staff said there would be a solution for an future firmware release from oppo.

CM11 won't change the partition setup.
There's a potential LVM trick I'm looking into for omni but it's going to take a while as I need to finish the basics on omni first (like audio)

I think that the best you can hope for is to have the 10GB of internal storage plus the SD card, basically a "13GB" phone with a microsd slot.

Thas what i had hoped for, great News for me an all other guys who want to install a larger amount of apps oh their device.
thx.
Quick question.
How do I find out how much storage is being taken up by my apps? I just want to make sure 3 gb won't be an issue before I order the phone. I don't really have any games installed so don't think it will be an issue.

install terminal app and use df command inside
Are there any news on this topic?
That 3 GB limit for App data is really annoying I don't really care about ColorOS not working with a different partition layout, since I'm only using custom ROMs (currently on Team Gummy, really great!)

Q- What's using all the storage?

I've transferred everything from my m8 to this fone only to find that despite the increase in storage I only have a few Gb of spare storage. Under storage in settings it says over 10Gb is being used by system and other. This seems very high. Is this the same for everyone? What exactly is this 10Gb? And can I remove any of it?

Mine is using 9.6GB System and Other. I would think about 8gb is probably the system. Some is apps, and some is data in apps.

Thanks for the reply.
It seems so excessive. The M8 didn't use anywhere near as much as that. Can't remember how much exactly, I'll check when I get home. Either way, buying a device with 32 Gb of storage, only to find that a third of that can't even be utilised by yourself is disappointing. Looks like I'll need to get me an sd card despite the bigger storage.

At least with the M9 we have that option!
