thanks to the work of pivoq on cm 12.1 for this being possible to be added to the stock kernel source and boot stock 5.0.2 on 6039S into recovery from adb or root app (possibly other 4.7" variants--someone will need to test)

I'm using 4.1.2 stock rom
i tried compile kernel use this source (4.2.1 kernel source)
https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/omap -> •android-omap-tuna-3.0-jb-mr1
make tuna_defconfig
and compile kernel,
made boot.img (4.1.2, 4.2.1 ramdisk both tried)
and flashed on cwm recovery
as result, infinite loop at google logo (not "X" logo... white "google" with lock logo)
can't boot
maybe 4.2.1 kernel not compatibility with 4.1.2 rom?
or just my kernel have something wrong?
I think i remember i've read from some kernel developer that there're a lot of changes in the mainline of the kernel that makes it not compatible with the older version of the os. So if you want to boot in 4.1.2 you nedd the source of 4.1.2 kernel.

I have tried n3o kernel and xm kernel for aosp but to no avail. The phone stops on boot screen. Is there any kernel that will work or maybe I'm not doing it right? I always fast boot flash boot boot.IMG and then flash modules from recovery. Thanks.
Are you using Aosp based? There is a repacked Xm kernel in the Miui multi language, that I believe has S2W. I used it about a month ago.
I just restored my phone back to version 2.3.6 and EL29 using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101&highlight=install+rom. now i would like to install one of the latest custom roms onto this phone. can someone give me some pointers on how to do this? In order to install kitkat (cm11) You'll need the latest clockwork mod recovery.

Let boot, then boot into recovery

Hi, i have problem with my phone, everytime i install cm 11 or any kitkat based rom (on jb sources) and flash xcelerate kernel (based on jb sources) it bootloops everytime , if i dont install xcelerste kernel it runs good as it should phone boot up. I do clean installation and i also wiped internal storage, every other roms like cm 12.1 or miui with xcelerate kernel boots up, pls help if zou can, thanks for answers
