Hey , it would be really helpful if someone could help me out with this issue ,
I'm having a Nexus 5X 32gb running Android 7.1.1 .
Since the update I'm having problems with certain apps specifically Google apps like the dialler , Gmail , Google Keep , Calender .
When I open the app it says the app has stopped and gives the option of starting the app again and send feedback.
Also the apps like Google play store and Google play services stop suddenly and show the same message.
It's very frustrating , a response would really be helpful.

Hi, I may be able to give you a reason why this could be happening. With older devices sometimes updates may end up doing more harm than good performance wise since theyre designed for the latest devices with the best processors, and we nexus people are an afterthought. I talked with google today and they basically told me that if I wanted to restore to a previous OS, like 6.0 I would need to use this link https://developers.google.com/android/images
And from there go back to the previous OS. Other than that you can try freeing up memory and RAM. Deleting things you dont use, and rebooting the device.

Hi, I have a problem with the Play Store 3.5.15. In previous versions, when I went to 'My Downloads' section, the applications which I can update was displayed in the top on the list, and I was able to update, but with the version 3.5.15, when an application is updates, the section 'My Downloads', in the tab 'Installed', is showing nothing. So I can´t know if there are updates avalable or not

I've had updates show up at the top as usual twice now. 4.0.2 stock.
Yeah, updates don't show on mine either. Stock 4.0.2 GSM version.
Did you perform a manual update or was it a background update of the Play Store? I just got the 3.5.15 update pushed today so I don't know if I have any app updates.
The new Play Store is some missunderstanding. It doesn't show any updates for me and even better - now when you click "My apps" it will show every freakin' app you have installed ever. In my case that's hundreds of unsorted apps. It soooooooooooo fun to scroll over them all untill i can find apps that i have purchased and wanna use now after flashing new ROM. I don't know what drugs has Google started to buy for it's staff but clearly there's some negative effect.

I was able to experience a notification for updates on 3.5.15. In some cases though, I experienced what OP did. I'm thinking it just takes some time before Play Store eventually says, "hey dude, there's an update available on your app"
Yup same prob here... Google's usual teething problems.
Think the world is their QA.

I got the same problem. The solution for me is going to accounts when you are on the "my apps" page and select your google account, then your updates show. Its not a perfect solution but it works in the meantime when it hopefully gets solved.
been having issues ever since started using roms that include this version of play store. on current rom, i fixed my problem by using the market fix from lcd density modder pro. but then i tried to run a newer rom version and this trick stopped helping. was having all sorts of problems in installing apps - 921 error, unable to complete purchase error, and just the state where the download animation is going but it never finishes and installs.
Hey Guys.
Just wanted to ask, if there´s a possibility to delete old apps that are still shown in the playstore. want a better overview over my apps. there are still apps listed from older devices. want to clean up a bit, after a fullwipe i even would have got a better overview which apps to install.
thx in advance

No, but they're the last apps shown.

I find this very annoying as well as I try and uninstall tons of apps

They should at least give us a way to change how the list is organized.
I can't even see all of the apps I've ever installed online. The list stops at F.

Because there's so many, mine stops at M. If you go to Order History (or something similar), you'll see every app you've downloaded in chronological order.

Known issue for Android app
Hey, I can't post the link (I'm new), but if you google "delete old apps google play store," the first entry is Known issues for Android apps.
"Deleting apps from My Apps/My Orders
At this time, there is no way to delete records of old apps either on the Google Play website (play.google.com) or from the My Apps section of the Google Play Store app.
We know that some users are looking for a way to delete old apps from Google Play, and we'll certainly take this into account as we work to improve the Google Play experience in the future."
Guess we'll have to wait.
OK, so first things first. I am rooted and have attempted repeatedly to remove the Google Play Services apk with no luck. I have used TB to uninstall. freeze, delete. It will delete the file and or remove it but when I reboot its back and it wont go away. I have looked into the my
/data/app
folder and deleted the file from there and then removing it with TB, still whether I reboot or I wait anywhere from minutes to a coupel hours its back and as it doesnt show up under the PLAY store I cant think of any other way to remove the dang thing and its eating about 40mb of internal storage. I move it to SD and it will work for a bit, but then its back to internal storage..... I dont even use Google+ that much on my phone. I use it on my PC.
Any ideas/suggestions?

It takes only 7.92MB of internal storage for me.
You need to remove the GPlay store to remove it permanently.
Maybe if I rename the play store apk and add a .bak then reboot then remove the dang thing entirely it will be gone.
I looked and I dont know whats different with mine but its eating around 39mb on my phone.
Why would you want to remove it? This app, as far as I can remember I read, gives us "Smart Update" which lets you install and update only the updated portions of apps instead of redownloading the entire app. So... I just moved the app to my system partition using TB, then Integrate it with the ROM everytime it gets updated. Internal memory problem solved.
According to Google Play reviews, you need it for YouTube and possibly other Google services.

Sorry, but this is wrong. Smart Update is a Google Play Store feature and has nothing to do with Google Play Services.

Yeah true, since newest version.
Google Play Services is something like a replacement for older Google APIs on Android. It allows developers to use a newer version of those APIs (this "newer" version is not better in any way, but new ). Google's idea is to get more independant from hardware manufacturers and their updates. They want this APIs to be no longer part of the system to update them on their own. They started porting their Apps to the new APIs, YouTube is one of the affected apps (what means they did not add any feature but let the app work only on Android systems with Play Services installed).
Im at war with Google now. Will go Windows
Up until today I was quite happy with my ZTE T60. Then suddenly upon waking up this morning it was sluggish, the Internet was unresponsive and became a great disappointment. Then the low memory warnings started, my "market" Icon was switched to "Play Store". So into settings and application management I go. Now I notice two new applications I did not install or was I asked for permissions. One being the play store which is only a MB or so bigger than the old "market" app but now I also have this "Google play services" thats 19MB! My device only has 128M ROM. I don't have room for it and I cant get rid of it. Being that Google took over my device I have decided to boycott all Android devices. I would also like to note the same exact thing was done by Google with my Samsung GT-S5570 Galaxy mini. Whats the point of pushing store software onto devices like this that takes up all of the Rom so one couldn't download anything from the store if they wanted to? Doesn't Google realize this enormous update is not suitable for every android device on-line and why have they mandated it? Sorry Google, I used to love ya but this is the big goodbye.
I am not sure about windows phone OS but I can agree with you. Now Apple and Android are doing the same bad things than Windows for desktop did in the past.
Unfortunately on mobilephones its is even worse because by default you are not root/admintrator.

You need it for like all services by google. The google play store will just keep downloading it and putting it on your phone until the end of time. Youd probably have to re engineer the google play and other google apps to not download this app.

Yup. Tried everything I could find too. And more. Nothing works. Probably made it worse. Like being in quicksand.
- Apps won't update or download. "[Update for] "App" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]
- All under my apps gives me "Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]
- I CAN instal free apps from the Google Play website (did not try paid apps since I don't want to pay for them again).
- Apps still show up a "Purchased" on the phone but...
- Apps do not show up as "Purchased" on the Google Play Website (Grrr.)
- Selecting "My Apps Apps" brings up the error "We're sorry, there was an error. Please try again later. turns up an error." but...
- If I download a new app using the web store, that one app shows up on Google Play Website and the error is gone for a while.
I called Google Play Support and they very nicely said it's a known issue with no workaround and have no idea when it will be fixed by 'Engineering' and those don't tell us much.
Geez. I never thought Google would disappoint me this much.

I was using CM10.1 but the problem persists after returning to stock. This is VERY annoying!

No errors at all on my end....regardless of rom or framework.....so far...g
Had this issue...
Solved it like this:
First I deleted all google accounts on the phone.
Cleared data/cache and force stopped play store, framework, and play services.
Rebooted phone.
Added back all accounts, main account first (not req.. Just easier)
Open play store, menu, select account.
At first I thought it was a play store apk issue because I have a multi-dpi inverted play store.. So I loaded a normal play store apk and three other modded ones.
Ended up going back to the original modded one and started doing the above.
Edit:
Read this thread from beginning to end.. Many different options.

Unfortunately i think all of us who are affected by this apparent account "corruption" on Google's servers are out of luck until this gets more mainstream exposure. I spoke with 2 Google support techs which was a complete waste of my time. The techs seem to be aware of the problem yet continue reading from scripts like robots. I've yet to read of a single account of someone getting this issue resolved where the account is corrupt on Google's servers. As with everyone else who is suffering from this issue, I'm frustrated and I see no evidence of any progress being made to resolve this issue any time soon.
Since this account is tied to 3 android devices i own...all devices suffer from the same issue.
VERY FRUSTRATING!!

I was full stock when I posted this Andrew. ..so then I tested a theory. .
The device got rooted with CF auto root. ..
I deleted all user data, wiped caches, and started fresh with root only. .

So I wiped again and pushed TWRP and restored my stock backup. ..then used triangle away and returned to bone stock. .

Now. ..I am not saying that Google is looking for root or SU permissions...but that's sure what it looked like. ..
It's possible I suppose ???
Even though many users are rooted and have no errors ??
It just seems too coincidental that I triggered and removed the errors via root and unroot....

Google Market. Updates cause problems on some custom themed ROM's "X stopped"
This is something I didn't know and this post has helped me fix Google Apps that stopped working.
wackydroid said:
It's not the Gmail app itself, ROM or Store version. It's Play Services.
The Gmail fix is relatively simple and works every time (so far, I, and 6 of my friends, have used it):
Settings > App Manager > All > Google Play Services
Undo all updates. It will tell you it's installing the "factory" version of it. Hit OK.
Gmail (black Rom version) will [should] work.
Then, I went into Google Play Store settings and UNchecked all auto-updates so they can't slam me into non-working updates anymore.
When you run Maps and a few other Google apps, it'll put a little alert on your Noti Bar that the app NEEDS the newer version of Services...it doesn't...they all work perfectly so ignore the warning until a new Services gets released.

The only issues I still run into is Google now and YouTube won't work with the factory services anymore. I got other apps for YouTube so that's not really an issue but I've started to like Google now lately.
