Hi Everyone,
Is Anyone got the google Assistant in their Moto Z Play.? There are many ways found on the web to get google assistant on our phone like update google play services(very common). But no one is working right now.
PLEASE SUGGEST IS THEIR ANY WAY TO GET IT..?

Google recently announced it will rollout Google Assistant to all marshmallow and nougat devices. But if your phone has nougat and an unlocked bootloader it is doable.
I'm in Canada and I just got Google Assistant on my Z Play about an hour ago.
I am officially over the Pixel, and so glad I didn't waste the extra 5/600 dollars to buy a Pixel XL over this device.
I got mine as I was reading this thread. Didn't realize I had it and Accidently held the home button. Then it popped up!
Edit: my wife also received it on her budget Sony M4 Aqua tonight.

Got it in the US. Only issue is that moto voice somehow seems to not work with assistant. Old voice search comes up if I use my launch phrase (OK Moto Z), but "OK Google" launches assistant if the screen is on. Hopefully Motorola updates their Moto voice app to call assistant.

Yes I have Moto voice enabled. It opens the standard search, not The Assistant. So I'll disable it and set up the Assistant later today.

I was looking for mine and couldn't find it . I held in the home button and it appeared. Until you go to use it, it won't notify you. I'm in USA though.

Just tap on the home button and check. I was not even aware of that it got updated

Anyone figure out how to get it working over ATT?
I thought it was good to go, but after turning on NFC and downloading the app, it says not compatible.
Which is weird since its an unlocked phone.
Do you need to turn on NFC while downloading? Did you try downloading with NFC off?
Maybe either the frequency or software might not be compatible.

Someone with an Xperia Z was able to get it to work. Maybe you could test yourself and report back.

Is anyone else having an issue with NFC. Mine wont switch on. When i tick the box, it automatically unticks. I did copy down a load of app data so maybe i copied over a system one automatically. Any ideas?
Edit: Uninstalled the re-installed Google Wallet. Went in to apps -> NFC service. Cleared all the data and stopped the service. Rebooted the phone and it worked fine. Chose Google Wallet as wallet provider, turned the screen off, then turned it back on and now i'm back to the same problem.

Edit: Worked perfectly. Now i'm hoping someone creates a flashable fix for Google Wallet. I dont like manually fiddling with prop files.

Follow third post I successful installed Google wallet
On my zl c6506 at T-Mobile but not buy anything yet
Installed it this morning via the method listed and used it to pay for a purchase an hour later. Suddenly, I don't miss my Galaxy Nexus any more.

Me too, followed the instructions on the Z forum @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40897879#post40897879
The only thing was I left the build.prop with the Galaxy Nexus settings .. changing them back to the Xperia entries broke Wallet after a reboot.

why u can't change it back??! I can change back to sony without problem
there is one thing after install wallet don't update from market.
No idea, each time I revert back to the Sony build.prop after a reboot I get the Google Wallet message "Your device is not supported". When I use the Nexus build.prop is works fine. Odd that I'm getting this error.

So, by all the posts here, Google Wallet does not work without some hackery? I find that interesting, considering it seems that the phone intentionally supported it. I'd love to know who dropped the ball here, Sony or Google. I would love to have Google Wallet working on my ZL, but I refuse to root my phone and alter the build.prop to get it there.
It's definitely Google's fault here. They update Google Wallet every so often with new handset support. Maybe in the next update...maybe.

I kind of figured that would be the case. I hope Google decides to support the ZL as having a non-carrier branded phone (and thus choices like Google Wallet) was half of the allure of the ZL for me.
Just got my update. Some things i notice.
1) sunlight mode?? when i click it, can't seem to see if it does anything, doesn't have a toggle for ON/OFF
2) haven't gotten my google voice recognition to work yet.. can't use OK GOOGLE.. or any voice app to work..i'll try to reset my watch later... hopefully that helps..

I did a reset on watch. Turned off google now and back on and still can't get google to recognize anything I say except OK GOOGLE.
Never mind. After an hour. It updated google services and now voice recognition works. Let's see if this update has an effect on battery.
How will we know when the update occurs? I'm still learning about Android Wear...thanks

It was an update in the play store. It didn't say 5.0 on the update. But after I updated the app on my phone. It ran update on the watch.

I updated the app the other day but didn't get a watch update. I even went to settings and checked for the update there but it says up to date?

Think that was a diff update. I got that one few days ago also.

Totally destroyed my battery...I am able to get maybe 5 hours of usage

I use the Android Auto app all the time in the car. And usually (in the past) "ok google" commands work great.
But now, on my Mi max, Google tells me to unlock the phone before using voice commands.....but the thing is, it IS unlocked (android Auto is open, and the screen is ON).
Any ideas??

In an update, I have sorted out the problem. All I did was update Google Play services and now everything seems to be working fine. Just thought I'd share the solution.

Here you go.
Update Google services, mi sync, and then wait. There's a delay at times while most of the times android auto connects well.
Background apps also hamper the sync levels
Seen this with EMUI also

You can't put it on again. I have the same issue the option is now greyed out.

Yes. China version but it was working until last week.
My china version never worked with location history ever since I got the phone no matter what I did. Was surprised yours worked initially.
Works perfectly for me. I use Earth and Maps Go as well. All are working.

Did you install any other Google services apps to make the location history work? There's no Google Location Service on mine when I check which apps used location which I think enables the location history.
Hello, I need some advise please as I am unable to get Call Screen to work on my Pixel 6 Pro. Ironically it is working on my old 3 XL lol.
When I go into the settings for Call Screen it says to download a language update then says update isn't ready. Screenshot attached.
Any Ideas please?
Can't advise but having same problem so curious to see if anyone comes up with a fix!

Yes I am outside the US. I'm in the UK however it does work on my Pixel 3 XL and I know they have announced it was coming to the UK so I don't believe location is the issue. Where abouts are you located?
Australia here. Same issue. No fix to report though.
Having the same issues with mine and my wipes P6P and P6 ... It's a bummer because I know other people in Australia have it working fine.
It's working on my Pixel 6 Pro in the UK. It did say it needed to download a language pack but calling my number shows call screen and it works.
The error on mine disappeared this morning randomly - I didn't do anything. Can now see the voice options as well as the demo. Could only see demo yesterday with the error popping up wrt the download.
I can see the voice options today which were not there yesterday and when someone calls it shows call screen but it still doesn't work.
Does the transcript work ok on yours?

No it doesn't work. Press call screen it answers but then no transcript. Can't even hang up as buttons greyed out.
Actually tried it again and it worked ok.
First time defo didn't but each subsequent time working ok.
Bit weird.
It's working for me on Pixel 6 Pro. May be there's a setting somewhere that's messed up.
With this feature only just rolling out in the UK I think they're probably still enabling it etc at the server end. It'll likely just start working soon. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Really bizarre it is still showing the same error but it is working at the moment lol.
Haha mine is showing the download message again now. But is working .
