H818P for now. If your phone is similar to H818P and you could successfully flash H818P firmware in your phone. You can use the patched aboot.

Hi guys!
Disclaimer:
No more secure boot error!
I thank my friend @cerg2010cerg2010 for helping me out in patching the aboot.
-> Requirements:
LG G4 LGH818P
Rooted Phone
-> Steps:
(1) Downgrade to Lollipop version of the Android. Download here.
(2) Root your device.
(3) Download the patched aboot file. Click Here.
(4) Connect your phone to the computer. In command prompt, type "adb shell".
(5) Transfer the aboot file into /sdcard/ folder.
(6) Type "su" to enter the root shell. Then type "dd if=/sdcard/aboot_237568.bin of=/dev/block/<your aboot partition>".
(7) Restart your phone by typing "reboot".
You have unlocked your bootloader!
Refer Notes for more information.
-> Notes:
1) The aboot_237568.bin is the patched version of aboot partition of your device. Secure boot validation has been patched such that secure boot is always valid, so you can flash your own TWRP and Custom ROM.
2) Don't upgrade to any updated version of Android if you get any through OTA update. It might brick your device.

Sounds amazing. Please provide the details about the patch meaning what have you done exactly to get that patched aboot?
Could you please download my latest TWRP beta(!) and provide me the recovery log? Or someone else of course
My latest beta is a unified variant and so should work for h818 as well but maybe I need some small adjustments..

Well I have to say I'm impressed. Share your method with us and spread unlock for all variants! G4 might finally reborn!

When you flash the patched aboot, the bootloader is unlocked. You don't need to do anything else.

Patched the secure boot validation function. The patched aboot has the secure boot set to always valid condition no matter what image you flash.

And after flashing KDZ the bootloader will still be unlocked ?

Proably not. Aboot is part of kdz flashing.

This is fantastic news! H812 user from Canada here hoping you can make this patch process work for our aboot too!

As in case of g flex 2..
Everyone be warned..
The aboot on lg k10 is not signed
But in lg g4 there is a hash verification to aboot.
It may result in a hard brick.. so be warned

first of all , thats great news. this is the same method we use in h815 with the unlock.bin from lg but instead of pushing the file directly, we flash it in bootloader. clever and nicely done.
since its public you should share it the right way not like this. i mean this is not a development project, this is about unlocking and flashing twrp. it should be a DEVDB thread in general under utilities section so that everyone can find it. Also the title should be: "Unlock Bootloader H818".
As it is, in a week or two its gonna fall at a second page and in search results also almost noone is gonna find it cause of the title.
in the op tell them about mmcblk0pX. They are not all expert , they don't know mmcblk0pX in g4 is like our sdX in linux.
Tell them the ls command to find which mmcblk0pX is the right one or how to find it with a root explorer. As it is, its just gonna give them an error and gonna ask you everyday about that.
We need h818 users too. To be able to start developing for more variants its important. Cooperate with steadfasterX to correct bugs in twrp (if there are any).
This would be the 1st step to start flashing together with us , custom roms.
Finally , Welcome H818 users

Oi funciona no h815p Brasil com o Android 6.0?

Can i root my lg g4 with this version? And how?
Sure. Perfectly. At least two different ways. If you do not need and care about device encryption just search for the low effort root in this LG G4 Forum original Android Development. Search for a flashable 10C rom.
If you need device encryption, go to LG unlock your bootloader officialy, flash TWRP and flash su.
Thread for this is right here in General G4. Called complete Guide to unlock & Flash H815 or similar.

Hi, unfortunately this happened to me (more than once) when I tried rooting the first time. You'll need to download the stock image files and the LG Flash Tool to start over from scratch. I'd link you but I don't have enough posts yet to be able to.
The trick is to make sure the rooted image file is over 4 gigs when extracted, I ran into issues multiple times where the download got corrupted along the way and ended up being a few hundred meg. Keep trying and once you get the right files the Low Effort Root is amazing.
Good luck and if you need any more help please let me know!

how do i root my lg g4

so i just bought an lg g4 device in georgia (not the state the country) and the reseller told me that it is the korean version i have been reading the thread for rooting lg g4s and i couldn't find the file for my device which my device is LG-H815P then i also read that you can flash the existing file the h815 without the p and it will work fine hoewer there are multiple files for thhis model ex:german, european and etc
soo which one do i flash?

The basic gist of it is:
1. Create an image of your system partition
2. Modify the image using a linux PC to add root
3. Write the modified image to your system partition
Or:
1. Download a system image someone else has already made
2. Write it to your system partiton
The modified image works without a bootloader unlock because the kernel itself isn't being modified.

I also have the LG G4 H815K, Just want to confirm which commands and Root files you downloaded, I'm currently downloading the International H815 10c Version and plan on using the international commands. Never mind Successfully rooted the Telstra H815K Variant of the LG G4 using the guide above.
Cheers Guys

I successfully unlocked my H810 bootloader, but...

Hi all,
my H810 was initially bootloader-locked, so i checked its anti-rollback version in the hidden menu (SVC Menu->Version info->Anti-rollback Version) and i got "non-fusing device".
The phone worked fine, but i hate the word "locked", so i decided to flash a H811 20o kdz with LGUP.
Flashing was successfull, so i converted my H810 to a H811 and i unlocked the bootloader
Now i have TWRP and i can flash custom roms, BUT
...
I live outside US and my device is now a T-Mobile sim-locked H811 :crying: so i can't connect to any mobile network anymore!
Now i can't check my anti-rollback version: if i try in the hidden menu i get a "com.android.phone has stopped" message and i can't see the info i need.
I also tried with the
Code:
*#*#244773825625#*#*
sequence, but with the same result.
So, i have some questions for you experts:
1) there is another way to check if i have still a "non-fusing" device?
2) the anti-rollback version depends on the rom or on the hardware?
3) can i flash a H815 international kdz in order to restore network connectivity?
4) what else can i do?
thanks in advance

1. You've must likely ruined the device by flashing H811 firmware. That is a big no on doing that.
2. Flashing H815 firmware will be the exact same never flash wrong model firmware.
3. Only way to regain network connectivity is if you flash back to H810 firmware that's meant for the device. (Hopefully you didn't loose your efs. If lost it's gone forever turning the device into a wifi only device).
Antirollback is hardware once changed by software.

Yes you can. But it's the only way to make your phone completely working again.
LGUP will/should stop you if it detects antirollback.

Oh my...
That's why I do not share in public my method fully yet. And always saying and explaining about the fuses and anti rollback.. Read my unlock PoC thread..
Yes I'm working on exactly this. You should be able to flash and so convert a device to a h811 and so be able to unlock as you already achieved. But you made a big mistake.
Two tbh.
The first was not to read my PoC thread.
The second flashing a fusing firmware!!!
I believe that autoprime was trying to help but really I heavily test all possibilities and this is not such easy and risk free.
Ok so regarding your current problem.
You're kind of lost and you can flash only firmware with the same anti rollback. But it could be worse.
Head over to my PoC thread and come to IRC.

I'm beginning to think you are either reading and/or comprehension challenged. If you look beyond the title of his thread and read and actually understand what his problems are currently, paying particular attention to steadfasterX's response, he has screwed himself somewhat with what he has done. He has no mobile network connection, he is stuck on his anti-rollback version and limited to what he can do now - that is not a successful unlock or major breakthrough. Rather than posting for posting's sake and trying to achieve Senior member status with little comprehension behind you, suggest you try and learn ....
IF you had actually read and understood anything in steadfasterX's bootloader unlock thread you would know that he has achieved a SUCCESSFUL unlock of an H810.

Boss... I read about 50% of USU method thread, understood about 90% of what I read. I'll read the rest when I actually perform it. I was wondering... whats the difference between the fastboot mode in the official unlock vs the USU method? Is it talking about the same thing??

I need some help downgrading/rooting my LG G4.

Hello amigos, just to clarify i'm new to XDA so lets get to it then shall we!
So I bought this LG G4 from a guy on eBay, and it basically just arrived today. So the weird thing about the device is, It has a Anti-Rollback Version 4. Ive personally never seen this especially in the UK. Isn't it just the US that's supposed to be effected by these issues???
Is there any way of getting around this or what ever?
Its on Android 6.0 and its the H815 variant, I've tried booting into the boot-loader and that doesn't work (Yes I've used ADB but that didn't work either I also used recovery which for some reason I can access but not the boot-loader ) This is the main issue. There is also something else that doesn't make any sense. The device has an update from LG, It downloads perfectly fine but when it goes to flash the update it just doesn't flash. It comes up with an error. That's all it says in the recovery, error. Yeah that's about it really. The phone works perfectly fine on 6.0 but I just wanted to see if one of the greight minds here could assist me with this issue or just upfront call me stupid for wasting my money on an old phone .
Which H815 variant is it?
EU, USA, TR, Int'l?

Yes the model number is LG-H815. It doesn't say if its EU or INT or what ever.
Is this unusual?

H81520D is the software version
you need to unlock the bootloader before accessing it first.
this is the only official way for so.

If I may ask to better assist you, what do you plan on doing exactly?

Firstly I plan on rooting and adding TWRP as I did on my old G3. I tried to use LG's method but it did not allow me to fastboot. When I used ADB it just well, restarted the phone. I used the command adb restart bootloader as it states on the unlocking site. I used administrative permissions. Whats unsual is, I can use adb restart recovery perfectly fine to get to the stock recovery.
The confusing thing for me is, the device has the antirollback version 4
Its the EU version of the H815. It makes no sense!!!!
I'm trying to figure out what could have caused this to happen mainly... The only version with antirollback version 4 is the LS991 ZVF... How is this even been done to this thing!? Its running on the H81520D firmware which 0 of them have the antirollback version 4 that i'm aware of. The bootloader is mysteriously inaccessible by anything I do! This is really bugging me now. Could this be a franken device?
Before proceeding further, check whether your device has SN 404 or other. It is found by removing your battery or checking on the box labels.

To begin with, I rooted mine by downgrading to LP stock rom as rooting MM is not quite easy using this link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/how-downgrade-g4-h815-t3264864
Then I had FIsH twrp installed cause I couldn't unlock my BL using : https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/locked-twrpinfish-locked-g4-devices-t3573048

Secondly, yours has ARB v4. So there are some hardwork involved in finding a kdz that won't brick your G4 on flashing. As you say it is very much confusing. So do proceed ahead only after properly checking your informations and cross examining carefully.

Many people are saying the H81520P KDZ file will work for me, apparently once I install it onto the device downgrading is pretty simple.
As for FIsH, eh... I cant figure it out at all. I was so confused by looking at the page for it, I was like eh...
EDIT: Every time I try to upload the KDZ to the device I get this. https://www.leonf.elhs.co/images/LGUP_05-01-18_11-50AM.png

Installing FIsH is confusing at first...ask me more about it but with proper reading and carefully executing the steps you should be doing great:good:
This common error may be fixed by updating your LGUP DLL file. follow the first steps on https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803

What happens is, follow the instructions on that LGUP thread that you sent me, I put the kdz in and restart lgup and then its on refurbish. I click start and the antirollback error appears on any KDZ I use apart from the H81520p_00_0314 which kicks out a Flash Fail error. Oh and thanks for helping me with this!

Hard Un-Brick chance H815? My story

Dear all, my quick story overwiev:
I have G4 H815 10H
Heat sink upgrade due to bootloop was done week ago and was ok
Wanted make software update to Nougat from 5.1 Lolipop and then some problems comes out
For this puprose wanted gain Root access, so
went through out https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4...t-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765 , but with 1 mistake, I've download T-Mobile H811 10H Version instead of H815 version and run
dd if=/data/media/0/system.rooted.H81110h.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=548352 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
After this got Security error #11
So went to Stock Frimware flashing KDZ procedure https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
I've decided to flash Europe General H81510B_00.kdz file
but..... now this phone doesn't boot. I can see only Qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 in my device manager.
I know that some of you guys (@TheMadScientist @steadfasterX) are able to unbrick this, really please help.

Well.. You have corrupted the partition table as you used the wrong seek value. The procedure there is EXTREMELY risky and that's one reason why.
You need qfil in that mode. Download this file:
http://droid.binbash.it:8008/unbricking/qfil/h815/G4-h815_fullunbrick_working_7a3ae5809224d.zip
Install qpst and the drivers file from the software folder and after that start qfil. Select the prog_emmc_firehose file from the flashing folder in qfil and select the rawprogramm0 and patch0 file before clicking download.
After succeeded try download mode again and flash any h815 kdz again.
If that doesn't work you either have to wait until I'm back from vacation or find someone else with a box (e.g. infinity) to fix the gpt.

Yes that way is possible too. The only way it worked for me is by using dd to flash the gpt to the external sdcard and then flashing the bootloader stack plus laf. Quite easy if you have some Linux experience. But if not... you need a proper guide..
maybe there is a working h815 image out there as well but the one you're referring to is for the h811.... OMG you haven't used that one did you??? H811 has ARB!!! If you don't know what that means read https://bit.do/antirollg4 and ASK before using files not related to your model.
I'm very interested what SALT would tell us about your ARB once the device is working again....

I have some base linux experience, (Debian) so no "handle follow guide" would be needed.
Yes, I have used H811 file, that was my mistake . I've exactly used this file http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed/lg_g4/lef/h81110h.tar.gz from this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4...t-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765 ,
Dear steadfasterX , please take one more time overlook for my situation and think about wright steps. Waiting for yours advices.
Best regards.

No I was talking about the sdcard files. Flashing the h811 system file will not increase ARB (as said you corrupted the gpt though) but when you flash the h811(which you linked in your second post!) files to write the sdcard and then trying to boot from the sdcard it very likely will increase the ARB.
Ok so you haven't used the sdcard method yet?
Then try that one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/unbrick-lg-g4-h815-9008-qualcomm-t3452853
Again try to boot to download mode with that and flash a h815 kdz. You MAY have luck but it depends. Give it a try.

If I may ask, where did you get this phone from?

Dear @terence.tan you've asked good question.
So phone is from China seller, additionally I've made some photos of motherboard and got confused as you can see there VS986_MAIN_1.0 oh no... is all so mixed up.
Unfortunately do not have system.img back up eh.... stupid me.
SD Card method doesn't work.
Now I am think if I should go this method
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4-vs986-super-hard-brick-unbrick-fw-t3666784
it's only idea because my motherboard seems to be VS968 labeled, but let me ask you guys as specialists.
Waiting for answer. Thanks.
One more question regarding SD Card method guys,
I've just prepared SD card fallowing this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/unbrick-lg-g4-h815-9008-qualcomm-t3452853 , but it doesn't work.
Just for confirmation here you can se parted print, can you check please If I've burned SD Card image properly?
https://hastebin.com/inimikipux.sql
Thanks
Hi there! So you have a phone with a VS986 main board, which identifies as an H810, which was sold to you as an H815. (Which you have flashed with H811 software.)
The seller of your phone in China has done something strange to make this all work, we don't know what.
I'm sure you will understand, it will be very difficult for anyone to tell you exactly what to do.
The sdcard unbrick you tried didn't work because it has the boot stack files for H815, which require a phone with ARB version 0. I suspect you will need to copy either the VS986 or H810 boot stack files to your sdcard for it to work. (I don't know which, only the seller knows...)
However trying alternate boot stacks has a chance to increment your ARB; you should consider the consequences and not use anything with a high ARB before trying lower ones...
