"Best" 7.x.x Nougat Rom (SGH-M919) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I currently have a 7.1.1 rom running on my SGH-M919 (w/TWRP), but I am curious which 7.x.x rom you guys think is (subjectively) the best.
I know 7.x is new and there will be more development in the future, but as of now - most liked/stable/etc?

I am very happy with the SlimRom 7.1.1. I had problems with the RR Nougat based and went right back to Slim. The Slim downside: video camera and MMS do not work. Also we have no developer.
edit: I have no use for the video and MMS, so the SlimRom is my favorite. I would recommend it.

Im using lineage OS jftlexx and has a bunch of problems 7.1.2, using baseband m919nuvufok3....
First and worst ongoing problem is network drop, modem drop due to kernel issues on 3.4.112 kernel.
other are minor, headphone jack routes phone call audio but cannot hear the party on the line. reinitiating the call fixes it,
bluetooth reconnects every 1 hour... by itself...
no audioFX or Xposed Modules

Did you try in any other baseband? Because in the latest fqa1 baseband the SIM card and some sensors do not work in the LineageOS..

Bluetooth issue

I was the kind of guy who want to try some of the new version for this phone...
One issue I saw on each version except the original from bell is ... the bluetooth is not always working propely... not sure if @tdm can see the difference between v20f and cm bluetooth but since i'm back with this one i don't have to fight to have it connected to my car radio!
Anyone else having issue like mine??

Even the stock Gingerbread firmware wouldn't work with bluetooth keyboards (the stock ICS just cops out and has a message pop up that says that the phone is not compatible with bluetooth keyboards!). I found that only Cyanogenmod 9 RC1 and RC2, and Cyanogenmod 10.1.x stable builds work with bluetooth keyboards. Try Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 and see if that fixes the bluetooth problem.

I have also experienced no bluetooth issues with Mokee 02072014 release version. Very reliable, bluetooth works like stock, no BSODs or reboot problems, and best of all its Kit kat.

I should try that version.
HoNo!'s almost-stock V20F and Sphinx 4.1 are the ones I found to have a reliable BT connection to FORD Sync, automatic connection. Everything else I tried I have to manually connect it and sometimes I have to do it 3-4 times to get connected with the exception of Carbon ROM which is pretty much 1 shot and it would be connected. I wouldn't even care for BT if it is not for the cellphone use bylaw in our town.

[Q] [Q&A] Sound issues on custom ROMs

So as the title says i've Unlocked, installed CWM and Rooted my 816 which is Dual Sim.
I then installed the unofficial CM12 from Grarak,
while mostly the rom was fine for me, i just couldn't get over how it sounded, especially at max volume.
There was a lot of distortion and extra sounds going on. I tried the Official CM11 , but had the same issue.
I'm wondering if there's any third party app or flashable software to make it sound like it does on stock?
EDIT: I'm also experiencing network issues, such as Network search coming up with an Error and finding 0 networks. It really bothers me since my carrier supports 2 networks, 1 free and the second is charged,
Automatic just seems to switch to the charged one a lot.
Thanks for your answers

Without HTC's audio drivers that are built into sense ROM's the auido will be very sub par.
As far as your network issue's I have no clue.

Thanks for your reply, i was thinking along those lines, but thought maybe there was a workaround this issue. Well it's not that bad as long as i keep the volume a few steps below maximum.
I just hope we get some official support for lollipop, because i freaking love it so far.
You should try flashing audio mods such as xLoud or a mod that has many other audio aspects.

Nougat BT issues [FIXED]

As right now there is a transition to Nougat on many phones (AOSP 7.1 and CM 14.1 are released, many custom ROMs are released on Nougat platform...) be aware that there is confirmed bug in Nougat BT stack: no connection / disconnections even if HU is paired with your phone.
While it is not only MTC* specific (http://bgr.com/2016/09/29/iphone-7-bluetooth-problem-bmw-ford-kia/) I can confirm it is present (I installed CM 14.1 e.g. Nougat based ROM and BT connection is not working - it pairs, it connects and disconnects in a second saying "no phone").
Existing fixes and workarounds posted here on this forum (like changing init.qcom.bt.sh file etc.) are useless.
Google confirmed bug and it is expected that fix be with next AOSP release (expected in early December) but until we see it we cannot be sure it will fix connection issues with our HUs.
Anyhow, if anyone whish to try and experiment (I dont, I wait for fix by Google first) you may try what was used to fix very similar issues on MM a year ago: changing setprop ro.bluetooth.hfp.ver 1.7 to ver 1.6 (pay attention that Nougat does not have that proprerty set at all, so the file init.qcom.bt.sh is not at same location nor the same content in N as it was on MM - but you may try with build.prop if you like to experiment).
Search the net by keywords I hinted above for links and post your results if you experiment. It may be helpful for others.
EDIT: Issue is fixed in 7.1.1 build (and CM 14.1 nightly also)!
I am suffering from the same annoying bug.
Hope that bug will be solved ASAP in the next AOSP.
Same boat.

It looks like Nexus specific issue. It may be problem with release of 7.1.1 they used for OTA.
For instance, CyanogenMod nightly fixed exactky that issue for me. Still now WiFi Hotspot is not working, but CM just fixed that bug and I hope it will be fine with next nightly. That is why I like CM! they listen, they recognise and they fix a bug in a single day. Google is on opposite side. Exactly why I don't use Nexus and I install CM based ROM first day I get new phone
Title is a little mis-leading MR P.K..
Hate to rain on your parade, but as you have been so quick to jump into other peoples threads and hand out the B.S..
You start a thread then tell people to go and do thier own research and attempt a fix you yourself have not verified will work.. tut, tut.. is this not the mark of a good software developer..
Anyway.. on the new Huawei P9 and have stayed on A.6 as for now everything is working fine for me on the big M's Rom..
Love the way you bag Google development.. of course CM is going to Cherry pick the fixs as they are a small nimble team focused on fixing and pulling apart what has been released..
They haven't released Forward versions of Android under thier own steam as yet as they just follow what has been put out..
You still got to take your hat off to Google for going toe to toe with Apple and windows to bring to the massss what we take for granted.. and might I add.. putting up billions to grab the Motorola patients so that Android continues to be free..
Looking forward to your Bluetooth stack fix's P.K so I can upgrade to A.7 ?

Issue fixed for Nexus 6P
Hey guys,
Just a note for the ones that have Nexus 6P (no rooted) and guess Pixels phones that the BT issues are fixed when you upgrade to Nougat 7.1.2
If you have a Nexus phone (like me) just enroll to the Beta program and upgrade to 7.1.2 Just tested and BT issues with my HU is fixed.
Cheers!!!!
how do you enroll to the Beta program? Never mind. Figured it out (https://www.google.com/android/beta) and up grading my Nexus non-rooted 6P to 7.1.2 (beta program enrolled pushed OTA 7.1.2) fixed the bluetooth issue with my phone (media worked voice calls would keep dropping the bluetooth connection) to my headunit (pumpkin RK3066 MTCB-JY-v2.86 running Malaysk ROM RK3066 800X480 version 44)

Help needed - Searching for a rom that works with any fm-bluetooth-car-transmitter

Hello at all
I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with LineageOS 14.1 nightly.

Now my question: Is there anybody, who use a rom that works with any fm-bluetooth-car-transmitter?
Regards for helping.

Aloha,
I was going to try 17, but the Gapps aren't up to date yet as of 3 days ago. But Lineage OS 16 lets you connect and make calls without the scratchy noise, but for music it says your device is locked. I am in the process of trying to figure out if it is the privacy guard or what.

I have the same exact issue.
Which Roms work for you?
I am currently using Jaguar pie - non-treble rom along with boot image is from xtended pie- non-treble rom as it because it supports spectrum profiles and thus pubg is better with gaming profile set on spectrum.
Never faced any such issues with Treble or Non Treble ROMs. Yes, there are specific ROMs or a single version of some ROM may end up having any bug or issues but it would be unfair to term entire TREE as problematic !!
Couple of weeks ago, I was with Pixel Exp 10, and that particular release was having this said issue. I have just updated to the latest release of PE10, so will check in next few weeks if the issue is still there or not. But certainly I can confirm, tried many Treble Oreo & Pie, I personally never faced any issues in those regarding Voice call issues.
