Hi,
Since I have my N5X, when I try to take a video using Google Camera, I have random "crack" sounds as you can see on the video below at :
00:03
00:07
00:08
https://youtu.be/d3mXQ8PaTNQ
This happen when I take the video using some other camera app like OpenCamera, but NOT when it's with Footej...
Apparently, it doesn't depend on the root, rom or kernel, and I don't have any audio tweaks installed like Viper4Android.
Can someone help me to understand and remove these noise ?

Hi there...
I would like to use some AOSP based ROM on my LG G3 D855, but I've already tested many, and all of them have a poor audio recording quality.
On the video recording, the audio is pretty acceptable, but if you try to record any music playing at a high volume with some bass (on shows / parties), you will get a distorted and clipped audio.
When recording audio through WhatsApp (or any other audio recording app) the situation is even worst, even voice-only recordings have a really bad quality and noise.
With Stock-based ROMs, none of this problem happens, I can record songs with high volume even when using Whatsapp and it doesnt sound creepy.
So, is there any ROM with a audio comparable to the official-based ROMs?
Thanks in advance... Im really seaching for it. :crying:
PS: I pretend to record a song with both stock and aosp roms, and share the audio here so you can compare it by yourself.
Bump
I have the same issue and I was wondering if there's any solution. Microphone quality is absolutely terrible! My daily driver is Ressurection Remix.

I'm having the same problem on XenonHD. I can't understand what the other guy is saying after recording calls.
This issue is related to stock roms having proper drivers (or framework) to record sound. AOSP does not have access to this so it is noisy. This alone is the only reason I'm still on stock based rom. I really want to use AOSP, but cannot without proper call recording.

Yea I also wonder about a solution.
The quality is good on the Ressurection ROM?
Hey guys,
anyone else experienced bad video sound quality? I found out, that the phone saves videos with 96kbps sound, wich is an explanation why the sound is that bad. But can we do anything against it?

I too am experiencing this issue. Not sure if a fix currently exists. On another note, when I purchased this phone i was hoping for more development support! It may still be early, but not too impressed so far!!
I also just got bitten by this crappy audio when recording videos. It absolutely sucks! Will using a different camera app fix it?

I dont think so as I am already using cam mod.
There must be some audio postprocessing going on. When I record audio with an app (Easy voice recoreder) and choose microphone "Main (unprocessed)" the sound is good. If I choose just microphone "Main" the recording is very bad (the same distorted sound I get in video recordings). So the phone can record good audio. The question is how to record unprocessed sound in video.
The bitrate is 96kbps with no way to change.
I have logged a bug here:

Please confirm the bug and it will get the attention of the team at Xiaomi
i have found a possible solution on the post below, see if it helps (by Callemusicman)

"So I've found a solution, or at least a temporary one
Get the camera app called Lgcamera. In this app you can manually set your audio settings.
Set it to AAC and set the stereo option to On (this did it for me atleast).

I made a little video about it since I couldn't find this solution before, hope it helps!

soo.... to answer to myself it does not work, the audio quality is still 96kbps, I had an idea to record audio separately.
if you start recording only audio with an app like "easy audio recorder" and then you go to the video app and record. the recording audio app won't stop recording its quality is gonna change to 96kbps (bad)
EDIT: yeah, it sucks, only xiaomi can fix it.
I have found a trick to record good audio see my post below.

I'm on audax rom with elementalX kernel.
I've realised my videos recorded with stock camera are missing sound.
While any other 3rd party camera app doesn't seem to face this issue.
I have a lot of mods on, has anybody faced similar issues or can relate to this or any mods that may hinder the camera mic.
Or suggest me system files and luvs I should replace to bring back what's lost.
Thanks in advance

The audio boost module in magisk is the culprit, remove it and reboot
Hi, I bought an Moto Z2 yesterday. I'm a musician and I use instagram stories a lot. I've noticed that when recording a video on instagram stories even if the sound is in moderated volume, the audio starts to distort so badly. When recording on camera app it doesn't distort. Is there any workaround to fix it and record directly on instagram with quality?
Sounds like an issue with the app itself. You could try OGInstagram (A modded IG client, same feats, some new options) or grab an older version of the Original Instagram via apkmirror and see if that fix your problem

Thanks! I'll try it. On the app that I use to record audio, if I choose "main microphone" it doesn't distort exactly like on the camera app. But if I choose "camera microphone" it does, in the same way as it happens on instagram.
