Hello guys,
Well i just bought a Lenovo K5 2GB variant a6020a40, and i am searching xda and internet for rooting, recovery and bootloader but i don't get this things. If anybody can clarify it and help me in getting it, thanks a lot.
1. How many variants are there is there any difference between them?
2. Mine is a6020a40, so if i flash things of a6020a46 will it make a difference. Because both are a6020.
3.what is the difference between a6020a40 and a6020a46.
4. Do we need to unlock bootloader for rooting and recovery.
5. How many types of processors are used in both variants k5 and k5 plus.
6. Mine is sd 615 as cpu z and aida64 says, but the box and online description says it must have to be sd616, is there any problem with my phone.

So flashing a6020a40 stock firmware or roms or things on a6020a46 have no effect, or vice versa
1) Some models have 2GB and others 3GB of RAM. FM receiver appear be different between some models. Using AOKP firmware, FM radio not work on l36 variant.
4) Have one topic for TWRP in this forum and yes, bootloader can be unlock in the first time for install recovery.
6) Have some variations of processor, but are compatible and the main difference appear be display resolution. 720p in s416 and 1080p in s616.
In the Brazil exist only the version s616, but the name of smartphone is only K5 (no have Plus denomination).

It will effect
Always have a TWRP backup of your native ROM and then you can try, almost all Roms are for the Snapdragon K5 plus variants.

Is 616, these apps CPU-z and aida64 are unable to show the correct information.

There are not custom roms for Lenovo vibe p1 p1c72 on web, please if some one know some one, post it here the link where we can found it.

Did you tried P1a42 roms? Only difference between devices is Ram and Nfc chip. Probably only nfc won't work in theory. Be sure you backed up your existing system.
I have not tried p1c42 roms, but I hope that its works.
I read many post on XDA some says install stock ROM of Marshmallow to activate VoLTE on Vibe P1 some says no update yet there is a complete mess on the forum, for the first time and for the last time I am requesting all the Vibe P1 users and all techy master guys Please answer this one simple question is there anyway... seriously.... any way to activate VoLTE on Vibe P1 ? not the Turbo or P1m but "Lenovo Vibe P1" YES or NO ? please answer so that I could decide if I need to buy and new phone or I could get VoLTE feature on VIBE p1 cause seriously I hate using Reliance Jio App to make calls, I seriously don't like the interface and feel like a waste of time.

As of now there is no custom Rom have been made with VoLte support for lenovo vibe P1 or P1 Turbo. I am not a developer but I have researched a lot on this VoLte problem. There are so many request made for VoLte for p1 yet there is no update by Lenovo India and on Lenovo forum it says they are not going to provide VoLte update for p1. Some XDA developers tried to put VoLte modem files in p1 but they were unsuccessful. I even tried flashing the Chinese Vibe UI official rom (Chinese vibe p1 is p1c58 or p1c72) which has VoLte but it failed i don't know why. In future i don't know either lenovo India is going to provide any update or not. It's just better to sell and buy a new phone and never buy Lenovo phones because they don't provide any update after launching a phone in the market.
We don't have VoLTE modem for our device. If you want VoLTE then spam Lenovo through twitter with #volte tag and constantly mail them or ask them through Customer Chat service.

Its not working . that solution by @gunjandeep.singh or @Savji is complete waste. I wasted two days on that solution doing multiple flashing on my phone all to complete waste. i am back on my stock rom s288 and i can say that the battery backup on stock rom is much much better than it was on AEX-v3.3 on my vibe p1a42.
Hi I am also using ASOP extended ROM. But I am searching for ROM which enables volte in Lenovo vibe p1a42. If anyone knows about this kindly let me know.

I am also facing same issue.. Lenovo community has clearly stated that they will not be providing volte update for vibe p1..

I also asked if xda devs could port motorola x-Play rom to vibe as both are very similar phones (specs and most of hardware) -- no tweaks but just plain vanilla port -- so that we can get OTA updates when motorola released them and get volte as well but that was a dead end as well. Link -->

Guys Lenovo community clearly stated that they are not going to release VOLTE update for vibe P1 .neither xda developers can do anything about it because the update must come from Lenovo team only. So sell this crap out and get a new phone.

Volte issue solved in vibe p1
I have enabled volte in my vibe p1 after flashing AOSP exextended 5.7
1) in settings > systems > AEX updates > add-ons > magsik
2) magsik will be downloaded and install.
3) magsik will be updated automatically.
4) open magsik > settings > downloads > voEnabler
5) install it and reboot. U will find enhanced LTE option in network settings.

I am really new to this forum wanted to learn rooting of my phone lenovo p1m and wanted to install Samsung J7 Prime rom or C7 pro Rom on my phone. Can please send or guide me with the steps to follow.
Is it really compatible because display of samsung phone is 1080p and lenovo p1m is 720p and some hardware diffrence is also there like finger print sensor is not present in lenovo p1m, (RAM, CPU and hardware too)

Goto Samsung. originalrom . j7prime . or . c7pro . download.com , Connect usb cable to phone properly. Flash and boom you have Bloated Touchwiz OS in your P1M to lag like hell. :laugh:

go to gearbest!! there is the p2c4 variant which you can change to the p2a42 variant rom. The P2c4 variant has more storage. Changing roms isn't that difficult. I can help you with that. I also just finally succeeded !
I also have a p2c4 variant but with the common p2a42 Custom Rom (Aim ROm) + Magisk + Dolby Atmos.

Well, the problem is that the p2c4 will be unable to keep network correctly because we are more present on b4/b5/b7 4G in france (see here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/how-to/lenovo-p2-owners-click-t3668029)
So yes, I know we can do it, be the hardware will remains the same :/

Due to the MediaTek processor, that's closed source, developers can't really develop for this device without breaking the law. MediaTek have always ensured that their source code isn't released making it difficult for a developer to actually make a custom rom. It's just unfortunately not going to happen for this device.
The Sony XA2 has a Snapdragon 630 processor so it's likely it will receive some more development than XA1. If you want to root you Sony XA1 device you can use on of links below.

There is no breaking the law or anything. And Sony has uploaded kernel sources long back.

The stock ROM is pretty awesome and there is little reason to unlock BL and make/install custom ROM.

hey i just want to confirm, i m using xa1 plus G3412 UAE, it does not have VoLTE option, i want to flash Indian firmware is it possible??

Possible. yes.
But there is a chance of a brick.
Different firmwares may have different partition setups.
And if you brick the one with IMEI or Bootloader ,the phone is a brick.
The only way to confirm is a developer having a rooted UAE phone and a rooted Indian phone and mapping the partition tables.
or perhaps , peek into ftfs and then predict the partition setup. :victory:

i don't want to buy a new device,:laugh:
The main issue i found is a lack of device tree from Sony, one would need to be built to even consider doing custom roms, LineageOS etc etc, i recently got this phone and i am rather disapointed with the lack of roms for it, ROM's could be ported to the phone no doubt, i know how to build roms and port, but doing a device tree is beyond me
