Didn't know where to put this but good day folks - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, sorry took so long to get back. I appreciate the effort to help, but unfortunately it soft bricked my phone. I tried to restore to stock but computer wouldn't install the usb drivers so it wouldn't read my phone to be able to push the files, so i had to order another. Thanks again though

CTT Mod for the G4 eliminates lag and more (7/14/16)

OK I was asked a couple of times if I was going to make the CTT mod (cpu thermal throttling mod) for the G4
What I ended up achieving on this mod for the G3 was eliminating all lag improving performance and as a bonus I found a way to also reduce the heat generated by the battery and phone.
So I'm hoping to achieve the same thing for the G4
Thanks Rob
OK forth version is up please leave feedback I'm only going to make small changes with each version so I know if something gets better or worse and I know what to change
You can either flash the zip thru twrp or extract the files and replace yours with these Just be sure to back up your originals first

Hello
I have the INTL H815 with latest open EUR Firmware V10C. Which files you Need? Remember, if possible, that G4 is 64bit based. If u tell me, i can send u the recommended files. And...please find a way, that we can Change the needed files without custom recovery, cause custom recovery we not have all, cause not everybody wants to open for that the bootloader. I think it is possible to Change the files via a root Explorer right?
Ok which files u Need?

Under system/etc the thermal and thermald files if you have them
Yes via root explorer and you'll be able to just delete the ones you have and replace them with the ones I provide

Thats great. Ive been using your mods as reference on my G4 with good performance results. There Is a problem. The heat warnings and force shutdowns are gonna bother us when playing games or other heavy stuff. Hope some body can disable or tweak when those warning show up. I willing to test on my h 811

New VZW LG G4... if i take the system update can I root later?

Just got a couple of LG G4's on VZW and of course out of the box it has a 'System Update Ready to Install' message. Currently they're running 5.1 and everything feels fine. What version is this update & does a root exist for it currently should I decide to root in the not-too-distant future?? I'd like to uninstall the bloat but so far I don't have a pressing issue to root other than that so it's not a pressing issue currently. Is there a way I can see what update it's trying to push so that I may search for a changelog to see if there's any changes I would benefit from?
Thanks for the help!
I'm sure this is the wrong section because this forum is a mystery to me in that way and they seem to intentionally make it confusing to find forums, subforums and then know which your post belongs in so if someone is offended by my posting this here and has the power feel free to relocate it to a less offensive area. Thank you.

That doesn't always work quite right. I just flashed stock firmware and updated. Finally got the September security patch. I'll upload flashables of the imgs and make a flashable ROM later on.
Does anybody else find it weird that the signal indicator has reverted back to the KitKat style... I don't get why they changed it, looks so dated.
But it is nice that you guys finally got the BlueBorne patch, next up should be the KRACK patch - fingers crossed.

Would you mind doing the same for the retail (XT1768) variant? Flashing back to stock didn't help in my case. I got the same "status 7" error as another person here. I looked at the update's updater-script, but not being conversant with the particular script language I didn't want to take the chance. Failing that, you can just tell me the correct way to edit the script file. "Blur_Version.26.11.46.perry.retail.en.US.zip" is linked below.

Can any someone that has installed the ota do me a favor and pull the modem.xx files from /firmware and possible the fsg from /fsg, I''d like to build cm with them but i can't install the ota at this point I have working lte on lineage and im not screwing that up heh.
Maybe this will make it easier for others to get lte on lineage.

Here's the new modem.img and fsg.mbn
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745849072291693264
I suppose I'll make a flashable of the rest of it when I have time. I think it would be safer to just pull all the imgs of everything that was patched so it would be sort of like a twrp flashable stock firmware. I don't want to see anyone's phone get bricked. There were a lot of patches. I'll see..
If anyone else gets the idea to flash this, it might not work with the old rom. The old modem doesn't work with the new update.

@CodyF86 I just found some missing libs that I don't know how I missed before. They very well may be the solution. I'll test it out, but will need someone with an activated device to know for sure if it works because I activated my E4 Plus. I should know if I see Boost Mobile for the carrier though. I'll have something to test before the day is over.
Edit: scratch that, turns out they were all there after all. Damnit!

If rooted it's quite simple (replace Notocoloremoji font) but if not rooted than no idea, don't think it'll work :good:
