Soft Buttons dont work now
I there i flashed roeddie with apps on my Irish Vodafone Smart 2 - everything working touchscreen etc and volume sswitch - however my soft buttons at bottom of screen Home/menu/back/search do nothing now when pressed. Can you tell me what img file controls these buttons is it : Boot.img or Bootloader.img or cache.img or custpack.img or data.img or modem.img or recovery.img or system.img thanks - obviously there must be something different between the Italian smart 2 and the Irish smart 2 phones / ROM

hi, I have a same problem. Flash back stock Italian rom not solve the problem. I think the original 01015 rom could solve it, but i can't find. Maybe the original recovery (with four options) will be enough too, but i can't flash it back. Send OK write OK, but nothing changes.
Here is the solution:
Flash this rom, with this commands and after reboot wait a few secunds then say: wolo-looo and evrything will work well:
fastboot-windows.exe flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot-windows.exe flash boot boot.img
fastboot-windows.exe flash system system.img
fastboot-windows.exe flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot-windows.exe flash custpack custpack.img
fastboot-windows.exe flash userdata data.img
fastboot-windows.exe reboot

Hi there, my old u8110 got pwned, and touch is dead now, so I got now this nice smartphone, Alcatel v860 (Vodafone Smart II)
I was going to flash this ROM, but not sure since I see some negative feedback about soft buttons.
Can anyone tell me something more about this ROM please? Is just to know if it is a nice idea to test it or not.
Some guy some posts above gave a solution, does it work?
And if I get the time I could start working on CyanogenMod since there are not active projects of it for this smartphone
EDIT: I've flashed the recovery, and it's going great at the moment, even the home button is working now.
Now I'm flashing the ROM, let's see how it goes, hope good, thanks for this Eddie, hope to see you soon back at XDA

Cool! So you didn't get any problem with soft keys?
Did you already have the recovery?
I've got the stock rom with the stock alcatel recovery (I didn't update the firmware), so I don't need to get into fastboot to install, I just have to wipe and to restore roeddie's rom.. Is it right?

Yeah, I've flashed first the recovery.
But the easiest way is to use fastboot and the tool given by roeddie here
Just enter into fastboot mode and use ROM v0.9.6 + Recovery/Backup/Restore to flash ROM/Recovery.
It's pretty easy, if u need any more help, just ask me
Well, I flashed the ROM through recovery yesterday.
Everything works, except for GPS fix... It just... doesn't fix the location! I tried the apps fasterfix, gpsfix, gps status, but these didn't solve the problem! With the stock rom I had a pretty fast fix.
Does your GPS work well? If yes, could you let me see your gps.conf content? Here's mine:
Code:
NTP_SERVER=it.pool.ntp.org
XTRA_SERVER_1=h t t p://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_2=h t t p://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_3=h t t p://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com
SUPL_PORT=7276
I had to insert these spaces between h t t p because I still can't post outside links in this forum
Have you got some idea?
Thank you very much

With the GPS Fix do u mean the precision of the GPS on Maps? Because I get the same at stock and custom. It's accurate within 60 meters.
I mean the time that the gps takes to find my position, not the accuracy. It doesn't find it.... It just keep on searching forever, so I can't use any navigation app. That's why I asked you to post the content of your gps.conf, I think there's something wrong with mine.
Same Problems with gps-fix and activating bluetooth (roeddie_0.9.6)
[email protected] i use the same rom-image (0.96). when data-service and wlan is on, i m not able to activate bluetooth-service. the cell-phone tryś to do it, but it failed. only if i restart the phone, bt would be activated.

best regards

Try using bluetooth whether WiFi or service data, both may cause a conflict with the bluetooth.
It may be a bug that u can solve by wiping with recovery.
If not, tell me what are u using BT for and I may give u a solution.

ROM JellyPro (do NOT unzip) : http://www.mediafire.com/?9rb34a481eg9gbq
ASASoft kernel : https://github.com/asasoft/Kernel-B5510
/!\ Please do not mirror and PM me before publishing on an other thread or forum /!\
After downloading and unzipping, you should have seven files :
Stock ROM :
Modem.tar
PDA.tar
CSC.tar
Cutom kernel :
Samsung-B5510-Kernel.tar
Utilities :
unlock.zip to unlock your phone if you want
CWM.zip to flash the ROM
And the custom ROM :
JellyProV1.3.zip
SETUP :
Preliminary : have ODIN (last version recommended), put unlock.zip , CWM.zip and JellyProV1.3.zip on your memory card, not in any folder
Step 1 : Connect your phone in download mode (power + home + vol down) and flash stock ROM with odin.
Get back another time to download mode, and flash the custom kernel.
Step 2 : Reboot your phone recovery mode (power + home + vol up) and select "wipe data (factory reset)", and confirm
Warning : this wil ERASE ALL your data
(you can just make a "wipe cache", but I don't advise that)
Then select "Apply update from sdcard", and select CWM.zip
You enter in the ClockWorkRecoveryMod
Select => "mount and storage", => "format /system", confirm
IMPORTANT : do NOT forget, then, to select "mount /system" and "mount /data", unless ROM won't install correctly (after that, they both say "unmount/system" and "unmount/data")
The hit return button and chose in the menu : "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard". Select JellyProV1.3.zip.
Be patient...
Reboot.
Recommendations :
Don't try to update, it's useless because the apk has been removed
Credits :
ImbaWind for adrenaline script
agmtpd for the task switcher
lokeshsaini94 for various mods
lidroid for the statut bar
And you, tester, to give me ideas and reports
If a moderator could move this thread, I'll be thankful... I cannot post in dev cause I'm still a n00b on this forum... and sorry if my english isn't very well, cause I'm french
TIP :
If your sim card doesn't work (and if you want to set your keyboard as qwerty and not azerty), try changing the CSC : type *#06# to get your IMEI number, and then type *#272*<your IMEI># ; select your own CSC code (for me XEF for example) but this will ERASE ALL YOUR DATA !!!
Observation :
This ROM is very close to the JellyBlast one I made a few month ago. That's intentional : I re-coded myself all the functionalities I wanted from the stock ROM. There is no code from creed anymore (you can check ), only mine and these from the credits.
If you spot a bug, or/and you know hows to solve it (especially theming ones), PM me
UPDATES :
All Over The Air (OTA) updates must be flashed in CWM, after doing a "clean cache" (if not, a bootloop can occur) ; obviously, do not format /system... All previous updates must be flashed before applying the latest update (for example, you have to be in OTA1.3 in order to flash 2.1).
OTA 1.3 :
Excuse me for the names, but the OTA 1.3 is not included in JellyPro1.3. It only means I made 3 major changes in the original ROM, and 3 major changes in the first OTA.
Changelog :
Swipe to get away notification added
Buggy beats equalizer deleted
Superuser shortcut added in settings
Luminosity slider added in statut bar
Solved which made crash the statut bar in the setting app
Wake up on optical pad press

Any idea how to change from azerty to qwerty? I changed the language to italian or english but that doesnt change the hardware keyboard layout
You have to select the CSC which goes with your country, defaul is XEF (fr, azerty keyboard), and you have to change it to those for your country with qwerty keyboard (look at the bottom of the first post, in TIPS )
latest google apps?
your rom works perfectly except the fact that I cannot use/update to the lastest google apps... any tip?
What do you mean by "Google apps" ? Have you got any error message ? I can use gmail, calendar, maps, etc without issues on mine. Have. You installed all the updates (1.3 and 2.1) ? But if you're talking about YouTube, I blocked the updates (by signing the app differently) because the latest update is veeerrrryyyyy slow, and the background player (small icon of the video) is pretty ridiculous on this small screen^^

What the heck are you doing ? I've already included some boost tweak, and I tried adrenaline which cause some battery leaks, the latest YouTube is just awful for a small screen, and I don't want to overload my rom with so much apps ! But thanks for th masterkey app, I was looking for it, I'll include it in my next OTA. For the circle, I'm trying but I'm out of time, sorry, I will be more available next year
Thread cleaned of off topic material.
Thanks a lot ! And I don't think that pie control is compatible with a landscape screen^^

Hello, I'm too looking on a howto install Play Services. My wife use it on stock rom with no problems specifically to use the Google+ Photos autoupload feature for photo backups.
With this rom it can't be installed and Google Photos does not work.
Everything else works like wonders
Launch es file explorer in root mode and delete /system/app/GoogleServiceFramework.apk (make a backup first !), then delete /data/dalvik-cache folder, and reboot (it will take a few minute to initialise all), or try replacing the play store apk...
Can you upload a version without all the signed apks?? Thanks

Known bugs/limitations:
- For partition Flashing, it is recommended(mandatory?) to do a reboot-bootloader if you want to flash multiple partitions one after the other. (according to the Google flashing scripts) (Implemented in 1.2.1)- For the return to stock, the tool will be stuck after your phone successfully boots, you need to reboot to fastboot again in order to flash the Radio and finish the full return to stock. (Fixed in 1.2.0)
Changelog:
Check the changelog for each release here. Tutorials/FAQ:
Q: How do I get in bootloader/fastboot mode?Turn off the phone and turn it on by using Volume down + Power key.Q: How do I check for updates on your tool?Follow the instructions on the screen below.
Q: Where can I find the device driver to install it for windows?Click here, download the driver, and run the setup.Q: How do I root my stock phone?- Unlock bootloader.- Flash recovery.- Use SuperSU 2.62 systemless or higher from here.(Usually the latest version upon tool release is included in the Sideload folder of the tool, you can either sideload it or copy it to recovery and flash it manually)Q: I get an error "Cannot open file" on MAC, what should I do?Open the terminal, go to your application path and paste this command:
Code:
chmod +x LxMultiTool.app/contents/macos/*
Q: What do I need to do in order to be in Fastboot or in ADB mode.Fastboot mode will be detected only while being in bootloader.ADB mode will be detected from Recovery (custom) and actual ROM with USB debugging active.Refresh button needs to be used in order to check for what mode you are in.Q: Are there any other software that I need to install in order to run this tool?On Windows and MAC everything is bundled, so nothing needs to be installed, just run.On Linux you need to install from your package manager libQt5Core, libQt5Widgets, libQt5Gui, libQt5Network.If it's not enough, use ldd LxMultiTool in the terminal to find out what you're missing from your environment.Q: I have a yellow/orange/red text screen during boot, what's that?When you unlock you usually get the Orange screen and it's normal, but if you really want to know what's this about, give a reading to this.Q: Hey, my device is not detected, why?On windows, you need to manually install the USB drivers, they are not included and probably they won't be included in this tool.Also, make sure you click the connection Refresh button after connecting the device to your PC.Q: What do I need to do in order to install a custom ROM?1. Unlock Bootloader.2. Flash a custom recovery of your choice.3. Flash an insecure kernel (boot).4. Flash custom ROM with no problems via recovery.All those things are found and can be done via this tool.Q: Hi, I just downloaded this tool, how do i use it?First, extract the folder somewhere.After that, run LxMultiTool.exe on windows by double-clicking it, LxMultiTool on Linux, and the same on mac.Q: Do I need android-sdk installed or something else?No! This tool uses its own supplied binaries for adb and fastboot, if you have android-sdk installed it will be ignored anyway.This tool is fully portable and stand-alone.Q: I get an error while trying to unlock the bootloader -> FAILED(remote: oem unlock is not allowed), what now?Starting with Android 5.0, you need to enable Bootloader Unlocking from the developer settings, in order to do that, follow these steps:- Enable Developer options- Enable USB Debugging- Look for the ‘OEM Unlock’ Option and toggle it.Q: How do I use the return to stock feature?First, download the latest package from here, then extract the contents (there is an archive in the archive) until you get to a folder like angler-mda89dthat contains the images, that folder needs to be copied in the /Data/StockPackages folder in order to be visible.Easier steps -> Get your device in bootloader -> Start the tool -> Hit refresh -> go to Stock -> hit open folder -> copy the extracted folder with the name angler-xxxxxx in there, hit F5 or Right-click + Refresh -> you should see the folder in there like in the following screenshot. Thanks @ursa08 for the screenie.
Q: How do I enable Developer options?- Launch the Settings- Scroll Down and Tap on About Phone(or About Device)- Locate the Build Number Section- Tap on the Build Number Option 7 Times- Go Back to the Main Settings Page- Scroll Down and Tap on Developer OptionsQ: Hi, I just bought a phone what should I do now?Well, you firstly need to unlock your bootloader...Q: What is logcat?Well, you can pretty much use google for that answer, but to put it short, is that thingy that tells you what is happening behind the scenes of your phone.It is usually used for debugging and entertainment(?).When you report an error/bug to somebody, it will be a blessing to provide a logcat (log file)!Q: What is a Custom Recovery and why do I need one?A custom recovery is that thingy that lets you flash .zip files, use your logic, and you will get it why you need one.Q: There are other guides/tutorials out there. Should I check them instead of this?If you manage to get things done using this one, no, otherwise yes, note that some could be outdated...Q: What is sideload and how do I use it?Sideload is a function from adb that let's you flash a zip file while in recovery directly from your PC.Please note that you need to be in sideload mode on your recovery before doing this.To enter sideload mode, in TWRP go to Advanced -> ADB Sideload -> Swipe to sideload

Got the 128gb monster on the way myself.
Thanks for this. Making it easy for everyone is a great thing I'm so excited to get back on a nexus
Thanks for this tool, I need to start from scratch because I don't have a Nexus since Nexus One
Thanks for this. Will be a first time user for the nexus generation. Just ordered the 6P so will definitely be doing this .
Great seeing this already. Coming from an S4 to the 64GB 6P. Will it be possible to relock the bootloader after installing a custom recovery or is the stock recovery required for the lock?

AFAIK, locking bootloader has nothing to do with the recovery, but then again, I never locked a bootloader...
Pretty sure you'd need to flash stock recovery. It won't hurt anything to try it without stock recovery, but if it doesn't work then you'll know for sure why.
I'm not planning to mess around with it too much until a stock system file is available. I need a Plan B. Lol
Doesn't run for me. (Mac User)
Heres the terminal error
sh [Path to location]/6PMultiTool.v0.2/6PMultiToolv0.2-M.sh
[Path to location]/6PMultiTool.v0.2/6PMultiToolv0.2-M.sh: line 3: [Path to location]/6PMultiTool.v0.2/simple_curses.sh: No such file or directory
There doesn't seem to be a "simple_curses.sh" file in the tool directory that I can find. Hope you can get it figured out! Thanks for the awesome tool as well!

Unfortunately I never got the chance to test the MAC version, finally I have a tester
From what I can see at a first look is that this simple_curses.sh is some leftover from when I experimented with some UI tricks for bash to try to simulate the looks of the batch version..
Can you please check this temporary version from here -> 6PMultiTool.v0.2.1.zip

I think you should change the filename to something that doesn't include "d8xx" i almost thought the rom is just for d802 but it includes all vairants and also could you add a translation of aroma to english .(if it's just THAT(aroma) in chinese not the rom XD).
i'm sure everyone will appreciate that
trying the rom now

At first i thought the performance would be dull because of good appearance but the rom does maintain them both
didn't measure the full battery life but it's better than the stock one's for sure
The sound is pretty low though.(count as a bug ..my speakers are good )
no problem in connectivity the gps is good

I had the same problem while installing..
I restarted the phone by long pressing the power button(10sec). And then it worked fine after reboot .
I did that on a vs980 though you could try .

because it needs lollipop bootloader. So flash CAF.
I'm on cloudy 3.3 right now.
Do I need to change my bootloader and flash caf or not?
Try it.
Hi, i'm install the rom last day. Device D802TR, stock rom lollipop.
I'm applying root very difficult because first time root my device. Not worked "One Click Root" method. How did i do. Found the how make root and twrp method, using step by step this;
1- Install lg drivers for pc,
and device mount pc usb debugging. OneClickRecovery extract the " C:\1>"
opened the one click recovery folder the cmd.exe
2 -
- C:\1> adb.exe devices -> results my device
- C:\1> adb.exe push busybox /data/local/tmp/ && adb.exe push lg_root.sh /data/local/tmp && adb.exe push UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp
- Unplug usb cable and close phone. Volume Up button press after plug the usb cable
open the phone download mode, and back to cmd screen.
- C:\1> Ports.bat -> device mount com port view.
- C:\1> SendCommand.exe \\.\COM7 (my device com7 port)
- # sh /data/local/tmp/lg_root.sh dummy 1 /data/local/tmp/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp/busybox
- unplug usb cable and long press power button.Restarting phone and screen message
"upgrading Android" and after 5-10 second showing lg logo screen.
.. And open the phone, install root checker the play store. Open app check,operation succesfully,
my phone is now root.
3 - Install twrp official app, RebootRecovery(qbanin) in phone.
Copying files (caf bootstack, flyme rom, opengapps nano) in device download folder.
twrp application run and agree. And run RebootRecovery application, reboot the device open twrp.
Backup system,data,modem etc. (Making a NANDroid Backup). Reboot and exit twrp(because copying backup files the pc).
Install "root browser" the play store. Copy the files my pc.
again reboot recovery app, device open twrp.
Wipe -> advanced wipe (only dont select internal storage). Back the main menu.
Install -> flymeos file swipe the flash (flashing time maybe less 1.5 minute)
(Note: I did for the first time, i did not add other files. Because i'm beginner.)
Finally finished file flash and show the flymeos installation application.
Language is chinese, only click right bottom text, after again chinese words (me not understand chinese language,
very scary my face), other phone install translate application and take photo translate chinese words,
after a while I saw it for the first time english words.
This sentence "Save log file" and click show chinese text and little chinese word,click word.
This will not happen, and found youtube video.
Watc the video, I'm on the right path. Interesting for me.
Again click bottom right and show the list. Click top words, begin the installation.
install finish and reboot press. Reboot device showing lg logo and show flymeos boot animation.
As for me wait 6-7 minute. And me thinking not opening system, little scary. Because not install caf boostacks file
and opengapps file. But; And the system opening on.
Language selection screen, select lang, finally words I know. Click next,next etc. Start connected without a question.
Close gsm internet connection, select wifi and password (no my language keyboard, CZ and EN, but not found "I, ı").
Continue the installlation and final.
Show Lock Screen, slide the open.Tap to settings (Insist on using chinese applications, of course meizu account).
Anyway do not write more...
Once again install Flymeos. And add file flashing time, rom, gapps, supersu (but not install supersu).
Result ;
# LED Not working (only plug charger orange color working)
# Knock on/ Knock off not working
# Change the Device MAC Adress (interesting)
# GSM LTE very low, usualy lost
# GSM 3G low
# Keyboard Not Support Turkish(for english not char "I and ı" )
# Sometime touch home button restart device.
# Screen button layout do not change, (Back left, middle home, right recent apps) and background
color not chance.(Why no diversity)
# Camera disgrace.
# Sound exit not cool(Even worse)
# Sms message receive (lock screen) show notification and wake up screen, (show buttons read, delete) but buttons not work.
Touch read button notification lost, nothing ! slide and open lock screen but again nothing.Open message box No unread posts.
# Open contacts and 1 number adding Black list, and touch recent apps button, restart.
# Positive action : Moore battery life, this morning %100, take 10 photo and 2 sms write, 2 call (total 4 minute), 8 restart after %91.
Questions :
# Caf boostacks why need ? (Me not flash boostacks)
# Some said it took 20 minutes to installation. (Me 1-2 minute)
# First Boot time 6-7 minute (short or long ? i don't know)
# Why urge use local application (I guess Meizu ports rom)
that's all for now. I think today wipe system, and install LineageOs 14.1 (now downloading files).
dtonkz , this is the best test report i have never seen before here
First boot time 20minutes
Keyboard not change ( change but always rebot)
Battery bad or normal
Permance good
Knock on off not work
Led not work
D 802
Sory my bad English
And sound boost mod https://mega.nz/#!KwJlG...5HxJ4__FiRUvkVMZifbilHU

Wiz *** Pixelize your OnePlus 7T pro
"Extreme debloat: Go where OnePlus has never gone before"
You thought that OnePlus phones were pretty stock Android? Hmmm .... think again ... there's still lots of stuff on these phones that you actually don't need (or want).
For example, did you know they have an engineering mode? Did you know that they can connect to your phone remotely? Did you know that when the phone starts up it connects to a OnePlus server in the back? Well, I don't want all that ...
In addition, there are even standard things in Android that only 0.01% of the people ever use ... for example ... tracing, android dumps, ... these things are disabled in this ROM.
Then there's bits and pieces of Qualcomm stuff that you actually do not need/want (I don't even know what they do).
This is a ROM in the form of a Magisk (thanks: @topjohnwu) module. That's great (I think). You can install it on top of the normal OnePlus software. If you don't like it or want to revert back to the "standard" OnePlus software, just remove the Magisk module and ... done!
Upfront "warning"
There are a few features which I personally do not use. When you install this module then:
- you will no longer have face unlock
- you will not have VoLTE (I have disabled this because it does not work on my carrier)
Basic requirement
(1) Your OnePlus 7T pro must be ROOTED! Without root, do not read any further as you will not be able to use this ROM. There are other threads in the OnePlus 7T Pro pro forums which explain how to root (so please don't start asking how to do this).
(2) You must also be on the latest OnePlus software: 10.0.7.HD01BA (since I own a EU model of the OnePlus 7T pro, I have ONLY tested this ROM in this device/software). It "may" work on other variants of the device ... but I don't know. I can't answer questions to that either.
(3) You must have access to ADB over USB. If you don't know what this means, stop reading, then this is not for you.
Kernel requirement
This ROM will work with the standard out-of-the-box OnePlus 7T pro kernel. However, I would strongly advice you to flash the "arter97" kernel (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...development/arter97-kernel-oneplus-7-t3952578). It's a fantastic kernel and this ROM has some optimizations which go very well with this kernel (don't worry, they will work on the standard kernel as well).
Download?
Interested? Start downloading the magisk module from the link below (but please read further for installation instructions !!!).
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XpiDKFQiuFuuTBvbKMAsxMH-B9Obi-Gz/view?usp=sharing
(click on the donwload icon upper right of screen)
The link contains always the LATEST version; check the changelog in post #2 below. You can find the file size and md5sum there as well.
Changelog
See post #2 below.
History
I once owned a Galaxy S8. ***GoogleWiz*** was one one the most popular ROMs on that phone. See https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/rom-googlewiz-oreo-extreme-debloat-t3750641. The difference is that I have now converted this to a Magisk module (reason: the "dynamic partitioning scheme" of Android Q makes it really hard to flash in the classical way; as you know even full TWRP functionality does currently not exist for the OnePlus 7T pro.
(Re)Using this work
Other devs, please feel free to (re)use this for your own work ... I am not asking anything from anybody, no donation, no thanks, no beer ... you don't even have to mention that you (re)use this. We are here on XDA to share and learn from eachother. If you unzip the Magisk module, you can see exactly what is inside. But ... there has been quite some work into this. It was not created in 5 minutes. But I do this as a "hobby" ... I have always rooted and customized my Android phones. So hopefully you will enjoy. Source code in post #3 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81887167&postcount=3).

camera2 API enabled (but I don't think this actuall does something useful)
- OnePlus bloatware removed (dialer, phone, messages, calculator, notes, gallery, zen, ...) + lots of background APKs
- OnePlus background processes (which send data to OnePlus) are disabled
- ad-free through large "hosts" file (works both for apps and web pages)
- lots of optimizations, really, *lots* of them (too many to list)
- support for init.d / services.d (see posts below if you want to use this)
- passes SafetyNet (I am using Google Pay and some Belgian NFC pay apps)
- "clean" and as close as possible to a Pixel phone
- optimized network/wifi config
- optimized touchboost (slightly faster application startup)
- optimized kernel scheduling settings
- disabled all kernel debugging/tracing
- frequency scaling throughout full CPU frequency ranges (saves battery and better performance when needed)
- disables swapping / zram (who needs this with 8GB of RAM)?
- bash shell in "su" mode (when using "adb shell")
- latest busybox (by @osm0sis)
- 1x7 icon row for quick settings, 5 icons per row when you swipe down the full quick settings
- added .xml permission files to enable Pixel exclusive features (e.g. Google dialer)
- optimized .proto, .conf, .json, .ini, .sql files in the system
- improved thumbnail quality
- dalvik VM optimized settings (for "speed")
- auto clean junk files at boot time
- optimized audio settings
- optimized camera settings (e.g. supernight mode; but personally I don't see a difference in the night pictures)
- disabled "factory" and "engineering" mode
- reduced wifi scan interval
- auto sqlite optimization at boot time (only runs every 3 days)
- support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi bonding
- speaker and headset volume boost
Installation (really IMPORTANT to read)
You must start from the 10.0.7 "standard" OnePlus 7T pro software. I suggest you do a clean install from factory reset. Strictly speaking a full reset is not needed (so you could just go and install the Magisk module on your phone) but there may be certain side effects in that case. Anyway, assuming you will do a full reset, follow the instructions below:
Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset)
Proceed through the normal setup sequence: accept the terms and conditions of OnePlus, skip the User Experience Program, skip the System Stability Program, skip the Push Notifications, skip the Built-in App Updates, connect to your wifi network, do NOT copy apps and data, enter your google account email of phone number, enter your google password, do 2 factor authentication (if you have enabled this on your google account), if a dialog pops up with "Add your current account", do that, disable Backup to Google Drive, disable Use Location, disable Send Usage and Diagnostic Data, type NEXT to use fingerprint, enter PIN code (twice), set up 1 or more fingerprints, you see a message about Google Assistant, press NEXT, you see a message about Google Pay, press Got It, skip the Anything Else screen, choose your screen calibration, choose font (slight preference for Roboto, better compatibility with Google apps), choose Navigation bar or Gestures, press START on the Setup Complete screen, you are now in the OnePlus launcher, allow carrier location service, swipe down the notification which says: Android Setup, click on Finish Setup, copy your data if you want that, press START, system will now check for updates, let it complete, copy your data from cloud or iphone, continue until you are back in the OnePlus launcher, go to Settings > About phone, tap build number 7 times to activate developer options (if you don't know what this is, search XDA)., enter your PIN, press back arrow, go to Settings > System > Developer options, enable "Advanced reboot", disable "Automatic system updates", enable "USB debugging mode", connect your phone to a PC, a dialog will pop up to Allow USB debugging (tick "Always allow from this computer") and press ALLOW, install the LATEST Magisk Manager APK (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445), push the Magisk Manager APK to your phone, e.g.
Code:
> adb push MagiskManager-v7.5.1.apk /sdcard/
open the app drawer, open the app called "Files", on the upper right, click the 3 dots, then "Show internal storage", on the upper left, click the 3 lines, select "OnePlus 7T Pro", scroll down and click on MagiskManager-v7.5.1.apk; install the app, open Magisk Manager, it will say your phone requires Additional Setup, click OK ... your phone will reboot 5 seconds later, open Play Store, select My Apps and Games, it will say that a number of updates are pending, press "Update all", exit Play Store, reopen it ... it might still say that there are pending updates, do them, activate NETFLIX ... do it NOW ... (if you first install the Magisk module, you will no longer be able to activate Netflix), push the downloaded magisk module to your phone
Code:
> adb push mm-googlewiz.zip /sdcard/
open the Magisk Manager app, press the 3 lines (top left of screen), press Modules, press + button (and allow Magisk Manager to access media), press the 3 lines top left in the file manager, select OnePlus 7T pro, scroll down and click on the mm-googlewiz.zip file, Magisk Manager will now install the module ... you will see some text output on the screen ... wait until installation is done (it will take a minute or so), press the yellow Reboot button which appears (your phone will reboot), unlock the lock screen by entering your PIN, let the ROM settle 30 secs ... it will say "Restarting" and reboot once more your phone, unlock the lock screen by entering your PIN, open the drawer, open the Settings app (will be in black mode [my personal liking] ... you can change later back to white), press Apps & Notifications, select Default Apps, press home app and select Nova Launcher, open Settings, press Apps & Notifications, select Default Apps => select "Phone app" and then select "Phone" (this is the Google phone app)
Now you will have NOVA launcher as default ... which you can customize to your liking (much better than OnePlus launcher).
Open Drawer, use the app Nova-settings to customize.
Open Drawer, click on "Nova Google Companion" => this will enable left swipe Google Now behavior in Nova launcher
Done! .... now you can further customize your phone in any way you want ...
Bootloop?
If - after installation - you should get into a bootloop then check the following thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/guide-remove-magisk-modules-twrp-t3995677) for how to remove the Magisk module.
Disclaimer
I will try to support questions / feedback. I will not answer questions such as "Can you please add OnePlus feature X,Y,Z" ... I have deliberately removed them. If you want OnePlus apps, use the standard OnePlus software.. The usual applies: no warranty, installing this void warranty, install at your own risk, ... I am not responsible for soft or hard bricks. Your phone must be rooted (again).
Help ... I really don't like it ... I want to remove it ...
Stay calm. Open Magisk Manager, press the 3 lines top left on screen, press Modules, then press the trash icon next to "googlewiz" module and reboot ... you will have the standard OnePlus software again.
Removing Google apps
You can remove Google apps from the ROM as follows. Go to the following URL: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/foobar66/googlewiz/master/googlewiz.config click right and then "Save as". Save the file using "googlewiz.config" as file name. Note that this file is a LINUX plan vanilla text file. The file will look as follows:
Code:
keep=1
lens=1
news=1
assistant=1
sheets=1
snapseed=1
street=1
home=1
measure=1
fit=1
tasks=1
earth=1
slides=1
clock=1
calculator=1
docs=1
Edit the file and put "xyz=0" for Google apps that you do NOT want to install. Above is respectively for Google {Keep, Lens, News, Assistant, Sheets, Snapseed, Streetview, Home, Measure, Fit, Tasks, Earth, Slides, Clock, Calculator, Docs}. Put the file onto your sdcard, e.g. via adb ("adb push googlewiz.config /sdcard/"). Download today's version ([version: 2020-03-30 18:28]) of the module (or later). Re-install the module via Magisk manager and reboot. You will see debug output on the screen during module installation which Google apps are getting removed.

How was this Magisk module created?
Actually the Magisk module is generated by a bash script (I use linux) starting from the original OnePlus software zips.
The script is attached to this thread. Download the zip file attached and then rename the file by removing the ".zip" extention). You will have a plain Linux bash shell script file. No secrets. Sharing all in the open (which I believe should be the spirit of XDA).
Reuse as you like ...
Source code
Feel free to (re)use ... no secrets, no hidden stuff, no need to thanks, no need to donate ...
https://github.com/foobar66/googlewiz
My only request ... if you make an interesting improvement, please share with the community so we all can benefit from it!
Misc stuff
a) How do you debloat? Well ... there are different ways.
- some init.rc files are not needed, the Magisk module bind-mounts "empty" files over the original ones so they do not run
- OnePlus APKs are "debloated" by bind-mounting an "empty" APK over them; Android will no longer recognize them as valid applications
- some background processes are not needed, they are "debloated" by bind-mounting empty files over the executables in /system/bin
Unzip the Magisk module, look at the file called "service.sh" and you will understand how this is done (partly).
Check out the previous post where you can find the bash shell script which I use to "generate" the Magisk module.
b) Debug info
To see what the module has done during boot, there is a dedicated log file /data/googlewiz/googlewiz.log, do:
Code:
> adb shell
$ su
# cat /data/googlewiz/googlewiz.log
c) Logging of init.d and services.d scripts. Init.d scripts run immediately together with Android boot. services.d scripts run once /sdcard is mounted. To see the debug output do:
Code:
> adb shell
$ su
# cat /data/LS00*
# cat /data/LS99*

That will allow you to mod all the Google apps (and others) into full black mode.

Can I 'dirty install' over the latest global stock ROM (already rooted with Magisk)?
Is the stock call recorder activated on this ROM?
Also, any possibility of working V4A being bundled in with this ROM? (I had no luck via the adb method).
Many thanks.

Dirty install should be possible.
ROM uses the Google dialer, so no call recording for now.
V4A ... never tried it so far, I would need to investigate ... try to find a Magisk module for it (not sure if that exists).
Done a dirty flash all seems to be working fine so far ?

Which country are you in? Just realize that I might have copied the wrong APN file ... (but not sure this is why it does not work in your case).
I am uploading a new version with the original APN files ... please wait a bit.
Edit: new version available (use original download link).
