My wife has the 10.1, and just got a new tablet through AT&T. She gave me the Tab Pro. I know it has the screen flickering issue caused by the battery. So I'm going to order a new one. I installed a custom kernel on here. Rums decent. Should I stay stock or flash a custom Rom? If so, which one? I saw a while back that there was a snapshot build on CM website. Any other ones I should check out?

Guys I wanna know how are the custom roms and how the phone works. I have a S3 with an Exynos CPU and devs have a hardtime to make AOSP roms to my phone. Does this happens on Zenphone 2?
Ditto Im on N7100, Im seeing x86 as potential to exynos, except if the source is leaked to developer someday developer will stopped updating or facing problems when Asus stop updating their flagship arround 2016
Im considering it with Redmi Note 2 Prime... it has Octacore but lack of NFC and only 2G ram
I might still happy with my N7100 (the also canceled Lollipop yeah,,, rite done with samsung, no need waste money for flagship anymore or buy Iphone if you want flagship) untill Prime arrives in my country or ZE551ML fix the battery issue, then Ill upgrade to one of them
above 1.8Ghz processor eats battery like a pro without good software
Btw this is general section I dunno if this question can be here or not
I'm currently running a 5.1.1 AOSP ROM, with the developer looking at 6.0. The ROM runs flawlessly; this phone really shines with lightweight Android on it.

Great
I have played around with all the custom roms on here - they all work great but when news of ASUS working on 6.0 came out I went back to stock so I would be ready for it. Just do yourself a favor and get it from ASUS. Too many people on here have found out the hard way they overpayed for a CN model with WW firmware flashed on it. Get the right model and you will love it for a long time

I got the ze551ml - 4gb/64gb version. The problem people have been having is going to ebay or amazon or some dinky shop hoping to save a few bucks and wind up with a chinese phone with the global software flashed on it. The chinese model has lte bands that are not used in places like the United States and Canada. Just get it from asus on their website. They will ensure you get the right phone for your area.

If I buy will be this one: Asus Zenfone 2 32GB Preto (ZE551ML-6A208WW)
I just went to ASUS website and did not see that model. I am in the United States so it might not be meant for me

So ZE551ML is good?
yup, it's good. the 32gb/4 gb versión is the Chinese version, you would have to flash the ww rom to get gapps. also I think it doesn't have some of the lte bands used on the states. go for the 64/4, 16/4 or 16/2 that sell on amazon at 299,229 and 199 respectively, they are all the 551 ML

Be aware of te limitations though (talking about ZE551ML/ZE550ML). Sim2 is only 2G and has no data support. Check the LTE band support of the version you get. CN, TW and WW have different LTE support.
All other ZenFone 2 variants that are not x86 (any other than ZE551ML/ZE550ML) may have poor third party dev support, and probably less attention from ASUS too going forward, as the x86 version is the flagship.
So guys, should I buy it or not? I don't wanna make another mistake like I did with the S3 on which I didn't have custom roms of AOSP with quality
Considering between Zenfone 2 and Moto G 2015 tho...
I switched from the S5 and couldn't be happier. Best phone switch I have ever done. If you do go with the Zenfone 2 I would recommend the 4gig version, it is well worth it
While I haven't used any CM or AOSP based ROM, some people say it's good for everyday use. I like the stock ROM, I only use a custom kernel (project T) and have the phone rooted and with TWRP. There are also some stock based ROMs, mostly to remove bloat.
The only advantage of getting the Moto G would be better battery life, but in everything else the ZF2 leaves it in the dust.

Xiaomi redmi note3 is a better choice now, about 200$

I just picked up a great used 10.1 2014 and it d/led the 5.1.1 update, but I stopped it from installing. I have been thru this with my rooted Droid and wanted to ask, will I be ok to install, or should I do something else?
Is Lollipop better, and can it be rooted if I choose to later?
Thanks,
Dennis
Samsung never provided a Lollipop update for the Tab Pro 10.1, so I am not sure how your tablet downloaded a 5.1.1 update.

From his description I see he has a Note 10.1 2014, which indeed received 5.1.1. He's in the wrong forum for this, though.

I am about to flash cm12.1 in my tab pro 10.1... I feel tw kit kat laggy. Samsung just want money and for them doesn't matter the happiness customers. Someone have the contact from oficial center of samsung? I want to write an email to show that I am not happy with their "assistance" .. For sure this is my last device from Samsung. Thank you in advance

Oh, forgot to mention its a 10.1 2014 Note.
I have received it, but not installed. Just wanted to make sure its worth it first.
Not sure about lag on my stock 10.1 2014 as I have been a Asus TF700 user for years and its a POS compared to this Samsung.
EDIT: Sorry, I guess I am sposed to be here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-1
I just got a used Note 4 from Note 2 (running CM12). I really do not like Samsung's stock ROMs. What is a good stable ROM? Is Lineage any good? EmotionOS? Debloat version of stock? suggestions?

I've been on Emotroid 6.0.1 for the past year with very few hiccups but I started looking for a new rom tonight as well.
EmotionOS is pretty much dead. Forums reveal the OP is retired from the N4 but work pseudo continues on through the Verizon wireless build.. Sounds sketchy to me as the sprint variant is no longer supported.
Lineage appears to be the rom Emotroid is built on, that said expect fewer customization's. It's brand new, but the activity on the forum looks promising so it's won my vote and I've got it flashing now.
Lineage is developed by the same guy/team who did CM.
So the hardware on my 8.4 is still amazing, but Kitkat is getting really really old. I see many custom firmwares available, and most of them say the camera doesn't work.
So first of all, which custom ROMs better than Kitkat are stable enough to be daily drivers? And second, do any of them have the cameras working?
Thanks!

I think you'll find it's just the versions based on Nougat that the camera doesn't work on.

Hmm I see. Maybe I was looking at Marshmallow threads in which people were also talking about Nougat builds.
Any recommendations?
No reply I see...
Did you try some different firmwares? I am also looking for a good working firmware. Can you perhaps share which one works good for every day use?
Thx in advance!
Just give any you like the look of a go. I like Lineage and 14.1 is available for the SM-T320 thanks to the dedication of members here. I can't imagine being on KitKat in 2018. Even LOS 14.1 (Nougat) is a bit of a throwback these days although it remains a popular version.
Hello.
I also bought a used t320 because the Hardware is better than modern lowcost tablets and 1 h after delivery it was already rooted and twrp ed. ?
I choose vanilla unicorns which is based in Marshmallow 6.0.1 . I am quite happy with it so far.? Cameras working , pretty mich all is running fine. I found no bugs so far.

Hey!
So, I am really familiar with the most ROMs out there, since I am part of the XDA and Android community since like SE Xperia X10 Mini Pro and used custom ROMs multiple times and still on a few of my devices I do.
Most of the time I have used the most popular ROMs that people use daily like PureNexus for Nexus 6 and MiniCM7 for X10 Mini Pro, etc, but I am not sure how things are supported on the Pixel 3 line.
I do own a Pixel 3 XL at the moment using the latest stock Google image with December update
What is the current ROM that people using? Is it worth to go to custom already? If yes, what is the best ROM that I should start with now?
Is there any downside to this at the moment? Like some features not available unlike on stock image?
I need opinions/suggestions.
I usually like stable/fast ROMs, not really interested in features.
Thanks!
If you just want stable and fast I would stick with stock. Havoc and Lineage are available, but I do believe active edge is not working on custom roms since Android 10.

Havoc is completely stable and has been my daily driver since the day it was released for both 9 and 10. The only two things I don't have working yet are squeeze and Pixel stand. Both were there in 9, so I'm sure it is just a matter of time. Others have mentioned Android Auto issues, but I don't even have it installed.
Stock + Kirisakura Kernel.
