Battery life 6.0+ - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all
I am trying to figure out if I have a potentially failing battery. About how long do you get for battery life with moderate to light use none gaming with 6.0 stock or lineage for the t700? It looks like with even basic web browsing and reading I'm only seeing about 2 - 2.5 hours usage screen on (just browser really) approximately before my battery is dead. I thought I remember it lasting longer than that before. How long do you all get with your battery?

Anyone still use this?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy s3 Battery Life

Hey everyone. I was just wondering what you people's battery life is like on a samsung galaxy s3 i747 att. My galaxy s3 is rooted, running 4.2.1 rom and the battery is bad. If i just watch like 20 minutes of youtube/ anime, the battery would go down about 5 percent. So i was just wondering is there any tips to save battery? or anything that i can do to extend m battery life. Thank you
The best thing you can do is to not use Max brightness and make sure no rogue apps running in the background. Cut sync times down. Cut down screen off time. Cut off unneccessary things. Like keyboard or device vibrating or making sounds everytime you touch it. Tons of things you can do to extend battery life.
The top thing you can do is buy an extended battery. So battery life won't be an issue for you. I'm rocking 4400mAh Hyperion extended battery. Ever since I got it, nbattery life is not an issue anymore. I even rum with Max brightness all the time and still get battery life with it. Surf the web, watch videos, and play games like crazy and battery still has plenty of juice yet. Check out the accessories thread on batteries. Great info on good batteries and battery life in there.

Ever since JB upgrade my battery has been ****. I am on AOKP 1/15 right now and am at 30% battery life over 8 hrs with only 25 min screen time. For some reason or another, I am getting high battery drain from Cell Standby. It's not just AOKP but a few roms I have tried...Google Now disabled, sync disabled, auto brightness, etc...I have tried other modems as well...maybe its my phone, but I can barely get through a work day with minimal screen on time.
That drain sounds about right for streaming. On the stock rom here, after the initial OTA battery life was maybe 6 hours at the most. For some odd reason, its gotten better, back on stock ICS I got about 8-10 hours max,18 if I barely used it. Now its giving me a hour of youtube and a hour or so on twitter/web browsing, texting, getting 10-14 hours on a charge,26 hours with minimal use

are there any good roms for battery life?

CleanRom 5 battery

Hi,
This question is for anyone using the latest CleanRom on their Note II. Just wondering if your average battery drain is around 4-5%/h. I use BetteryBatteryStats. I also check the Battery section under Settings. The most battery life I have been able to get is 12 - 15 h with 1-2h screen time. At this point, the battery is at less than 10%. Is this normal ? I thought I remembered getting better life from older versions of CleanRom. I know these numbers are never achievable on any AOSP rom that I have tried. Just wanted to see what everyone's experience is with battery life. Just post any thoughts!
Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate your time!

Just like anyone else, it all depends on what kernel you're on and what apps you have wakelocking. I've been using Clean 5.0 as my daily for months and the battery life lasts me throughout the day until I need to sleep at which point I plug in... but sometimes, I'm running into fast battery drain due to some apps going nuts on me or when Bluetooth is trying to link from a long distance (where the phone would heat up and drain like mad... btw this only happened to me twice in many months). After a reboot, it usually clears up and after a recharge, I'm back to 14 hours with 20% left at night. I'm not one to be anal about my battery drain if it lasts me until I sleep (because I have NEVER had a smartphone that would last me that long without plugging in... in fact, barely half the day would be when my device would need to be fed).
I'm using Perseus' latest with a few screen tweaks, no CPU or power tweaks, using Facebook constantly, Pulse, SMS/MMS, camera throughout the day, Next 3D launcher with all the fun animations running, YouTube, Pandora when driving (so my Bluetooth is on constantly)... let's just say I'm a heavy user. When my kids get a hold of my device, they run a bunch of games and drain around 10% by the time I get it back.
I am happy with the battery life on my Clean Rom 5.0/Perseus Note II. I won't fuss about it as long as it lasts longer than half the day because that is what I was used before upgrading.

so, the battery drain is real...

I thought people were just exaggerating (i still have hope that i'm exaggerating) but man, i just got this phone and holy hell is the battery getting destroyed by "android os"
It won't even last a day with minimal/medium usage (some bluetooth and hotspot use here and there)
I'm coming from a galaxy s3 (which had better battery life).
I've tried installing a 5.1.1 rom but it seems to have no effect.
Has anyone figured out how to 'fix' this? Or can recommend a good rom (or kernel?) to get battery life representative of what i think a 3000 mah battery should be?
Thanks.

Greenify and the .97 OTA seems to provide decent battery life. Getting about 5 hours+ of SOT. Try using a separate app to see which apps are consuming the most battery and disable all the system apps you don't use.
I installed a barebones rom.
What concerns me is i had the same set up on my Galaxy S3 (5.1.1. lollipop with same apps), and the battery life on this zenfone has just been atrocious (leading me to believe 5.1.1 is not the problem, per se).
Am I wrong, did they not optimize this phone properly or something?
I do not have any issue with batery life. Mine last one day easy with medium to heavy use. Just do some charging cycles
I usually get a day with 4 to 6 hours SOT, without doing anything special to save battery
Do 3 drains to 1 % - you may find it stays longer during the lower 20% range so use a youtube film or sommat to blast it down,
then do a factory reset on the latest build.
Did this at the beginning when was only getting 10hrs max ugh !
Now easy 36hrs decent usage
I get a full days use (medium/heavy) with mine, not rooted not custom rom. I usually have about 20% left before it hits the charger. I have noticed small increases in battery life at every firmware update. I can't really complain, came from a Galaxy S5 and battery was about the same if not worst, but S5 had removeable battery. I've used a lot of smartphones and honestly, most will get your through the day and evening but that's about it, yeah, you might have some for the next day but most will through it on the charger by end of the night. My wife has the Iphone 4s and yeah, the battery lasts longer but the screen is almost half the size of mine, screen size makes a big dif.

PLEASE help me improve my battery life!

Hello everyone!
Proud owner of 5T for about 2 months now, switched from OPX and the performance, the screen, the everything was such a big improvement!
However, I've started noticing that my battery life is sub par... And I frequently read on forums and reddit that people achieve 5-6 hours SOT. I think I average about 4h SOT.. The reason I can't say for sure is because I've probably never charged my phone up to 100% (all hail dash charging when you can just plug it in for 20mins and get an extra hour lol).
Right now I'm testing this out, so I've charged my phone to 100% and I'll see how it goes.. Right now I'm on 36% with 2h 24min SOT and 14h 20mins since last full charge...
Here are some things I've tried:
- I frequently delete cache
- I've set animation scales and some other things to lower in developer options
- I use greenify automatic hibernation
- I don't have auto updates in Play store
- I have most of the notifications turned off
... There are probably more things that I can't remember right now, but I think I've probably tried most of the frequent fixes.
Right now I'm thinking of switching to a custom ROM (I loved Lineage and SultanRom on my OPX), because right now I'm running 8.0.0 (I've never upgraded because some people were saying it slowed their phones and/or worsened their battery life).
Please XDA, help me. I really want that 6hrs SOT and not having to bring charger with me around lol
Your battery life can depends on what apps you use, what you have on (wifi, bluetooth, data and stuff), you could check if something if heavily using up your battery in the corresponding section of your settings.
What kind of ROM you use doesn't noticeably affect your battery life as much. Instead however, people achieve a higher battery life by installing a custom kernel - they really do help, both in smoothness and SOT, give it a go mate
starting walking with several power banks ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Don't clear your cache very frequent.
Uninstall app you don't use.
Disable vibrations.
Use dark, black wallpaper. Bright colors consume more baterry. Blue is bad for our eyes.
Use black menu, interface, where is possible.
Disable Location if you don't need it.
Close the phone when you don't use it.
Finally, get a job.
Download better battery stats.
Then unistall greenery and use oreos background restrictor in battery settings
Also uodate to the latest

[A520F] Battery problems

Hi guys!
I have a serious problem with a used A5 (2017) I got from some friends. The battery life is abysmal. I already changed the battery and it didn't change anything.
It is running on Android 8 Oreo. The most serious problem, I think, is that the phone even discharges when it's powered off. I tried using the latest hadesrom, but it didn't changed a thing. Lifetime is around 12hours, doesn't matter if I run some apps or just let it lie around in standby. I tried factory rests and some battery saving apps... nothing works. Is there any way to get better battery life? Thanks in advance!

You could try the naptime app. But I don't think my battery life is any better than yours.
The a5 2017 has a famously good battery life.
I am not a heavy user - make and get few calls and mainly use it for receiving emails and a few texts plus a bit of web browsing.
Occasionally listening to podcasts.
3 days battery life is easy for me - reckon I could get 5 days if I just left it sitting quietly.
If it's going flat quickly even when switched off, it sounds like a fault somewhere.
Don't know what else to tell you.

I never tried letting it sit, but if I just left mine alone it would last for days too. But if I am gaming on it, it will go down to around 50 percent at noon.
wow - 3 days life battery!! I can hardly get to 2 days, without heavy us - but I would never try to change the battery -> sounds too complicated
One thing that is worth looking at is the Always on Display (AOD).
I found it sucks a lot of power despite the claims that it 'doesnt use much'. It seemed to use around 1% an hour - I guess thats around a quarter of your battery in a day. So unless you find it useful either turn it off - or set it on a schedule for when you actually want it to be on.
Battery life is always sujective and depends on what your phone is doing - gaming will burn through a battery like nothing else.
The OP said the battery drains even when the phone is switched off - That sounds like a hardware fault. The battery will gradually drop when switched off - but it should take months for a healthy battery to drop much if the phone is switched off.

1 percent an hour doesn't matter to me lol. I am a heavy user so I charge every day anyway.
