Can't see some emojis - Sony Xperia M5

I have a problem with my Xperia M5. The thing is, I can not see some emojis that my friends send via Messenger. E.g. 2 glasses of champagne: ?
Is there an app or a workaround I can do to see these emojis?

Yes just do a bit of research

emoji support is back, nice! thanks
Will check it out, thanks.
All it needs now is swipe to change messages and a way to toggle the pop-up while the screen is on.

Whoaaa looks so much like the stock MIUI SMS app now! Will try this for sure!
Emoji does not work
I have not tested it yet with people who DO have go sms pro,
but, when I send emoji to people who DON'T have go sms pro, they do not see the emoji I attach in the message, only the regular smileys
Edit: I just read again the market description of the emoji plugin. and indeed it is stated very clearly that the recipient should have go sms pro and the emoji plugin.
In my opinion this is totally useless.
One has to convince all of his contacts to install an app before one can use it properly
That's not the right way to implement new stuff.
Imagine you could not talk to someone unless he had your dialer application....
ridiculous

So you suggest they change the SMS-standard to implement their own type of smileys? Remember that SMS is only text, and it is the SMS-app reading the SMS that translates the text 'colon-paranthesis' to an image of a smiley-face.
Ridiculous...

I am not a developer and I don't have knowhow, but I know what sounds unreasonable.
It is very unreasonable to provide you with a tool that only works if your recipient has exactly the same tool.
Can you imagine having an sms app which messages could be read ONLY by people who had the same app? wouldn't you call that ridiculous and useless?
I don't see the difference

If you compare a small app on android to a Google application, than I have nothing more to say

It's obvious that you do not know what you are talking about. What you find ridiculus I find obvious. I rest my case

Group MMS & Emoji.

One thing i would like to see in ROMS is Group Texting and Emoji. I see the new rom Liquid Smooth added group mms threading. Now is it possible to add Emoji throughout the phone like IPhones? Like i know i can download Chomp SMS or Go SMS and then download the emoji addon, but the emoji addon only works in the SMS app.. I cant use the Emojis for apps like instagram. Is that possible or do Devs have to port that into their ROMS? Thanks.

I second that! I'm a total noob at ROMs and stuff but I've been able to decompile the SecMms.apk and other system apps and I've discovered there is code for both threaded group mms and emojis. At this point I'm too noob to figure out what I need to do to enable at least the threaded group mms but I totally second this!
Bump please!
There was an emoji keyboard that developers were able to hack out of the jb codes. There was a zip uploaded to XDA, I had that a while ago. Basically when you want to type, you'd change to that JB emoji keyboard and there you have it! can post anywhere..

I have emjois on every ROM I've used basically u just gotta go into messaging settings and check them all

If its a group of friends, try kik or Voxer. That's what we use. They'd all need the app. There are some that work on all platforms too....not sure which.

Group texting is the standard for normal cell phone users and should of been included in android long ago. Bizzare that its not. Telling any friends I want to group chat with to install and sign up for some app is not the right or easy option.

its on every ROM in here except TW Roms they dont support it but you can see them if not then just download and app called Chomp sms and it replace you text app with that one and it has all the bells and whistles you want also if you do install make sure to uncheck the notifications on your stock messaging app so you dont get double the notify
I think Google added the code in JB 4.2 to natively support group messaging. The recent updates for the SG2 models won't do group threads. If you use a a 4.2 rom then it should already be in there without needing a secondary program. I'm running Slim and it works fine.

[Q] question about smileys

Hey all.
Here is a lot of threads about emoji and android. I've been searching for the past week and found nothing. I would like to know why I can't have emoji on Kik, but have them on Whatsapp ( I mean neat color ones ). Isn't it possible to have them on Kik too? Its annoying to recieve b&w emojis from a friend and then trying to figure it out whats on that little droid face. I really don't know if its possible and even don't know how to deal with this task, app perhaps or mod?
Thanx, Brixie
Well, I've tried everything and nothing works. I'm abondonig this.

Well, I would guess it's because whatsapp and the sms apps use "pre-canned" replies. In other words, I think you can only send one of several pre-determined responses, and not type a message like you would using the phone based apps.
Awesome, didn't even know about this keyboard. Now I want to put the Google Keyboard on with the material theme, and as for messaging you should try Wear Messenger. Its a paid app but I think its well worth it right now, I can reply to texts, read conversations.
Well i saw a guy testing microsoft's keyboard and he actually made it work he replied to hangout's messege i tried too but i didn't made it so microsoft in her app discription says that i have to invoke the keyboard and i dont know how

Is there a way to see iPhone emojis?

My phone is rooted and its annoying talking to iPhone users because they use emojis I can't see. Was wondering if there's something I can add to my phone so I can see the emojis they send.
So I actually found a website that'll help...
