Hi everybody,
I just bought the Mi6 and everything works fine.
But now I am confused whether I have a Shop ROM or just the Global ROM from Xiaomi. How can I see that? Don't want to flash global ROM if I already have it.
The ROM is in my langugage (german) and I was able to choose between a lot of languages. I also had the Play Store installed.
Edit: Facts from the Settings Menu:
Android Version 7.7.1 NMF26X
MIUI Version: MIUI Global 8.2 Stable NCAMIEC

Yes, it's the official version.Don't worry,you can get updates in settings.
You have the official Global version.
Don't worry.
If you ever get into trouble and want to re install just go to the software update in settings, select download update and follow the instructions.
I did this just to make sure everything is ok and it's fine. Also we will receive OTAs no problem.
You'll notice that LTE and WiFi and GPS works very well in your region and that everything Google/Playstore is just fine.
I want to flash back to stock rom on my note 8
How do i know if i have a global or china or india phone. where does it have all this information.
I already erased the stock rom and it has lineageOS
I went here to input my imei and it says
Thank you for choosing Xiaomi!
However, the device you purchased is not an official global version and user experience may be affected. Next time, please purchase the official global version of the device through officially authorized channels.
Redmi Note 8 全网通版 6GB内存 皓月白 128GB
does this mean my phone is a chinese version? and i should be downloading the chinese stock rom?
My phone turned out to be a chinese version. I looked on my bill and it said chinese version.
That's probably why I could not get a global rom to work.
I download the chinese rom and it worked.

I have a question. If anyone could help!!
I am currently version 12.5.3.0 indian version. But when I tried to flash global V. 12.5.8.0 My device show play protect uncertified and can't run any google app. So I had to reflash the previous 12.5.3(indian) rom. Is there any way to fix this issue.
I have an Indonesian Poco F3. Since Novemeber last year I'm using it with the global firmware and a custom ROM. Back then the only recommended firmware for the ROM was global and I just sticked to that. However, other Regions are also recommended now and I was thinking about switching to the fitting region. But so far I didn't encounter any issues with the global firmware.
Are there any benefits when switch to the region specific firmware, compared to global (I use the phone in Europe at the moment)?
What are really the differences between those firmwares? I couldn't find any useful information on that. I can not image there are hardware differences, since I use another region for several months now and didn't encounter any issues.

The differences are in the themes and some apps like Music which is limited depending on the region where you use the phone, the Indonesian has call recording like the Taiwain and China (Miui dialer) the other Google dialer and google messages, EEA rom for Europe applies GDPR or GDPR.
A lot goes to the Indonesian for the Miui dialer and which has several languages unlike that of China which remains the most evolved.
EUXM=EEA Europe
MIXM=Global
TRXM=Turkey
RUXM=Russia
INXM=India
JPXM=Japan
IDXM=Indonesia
TWXM=Taiwan
CNXM=China
DEV=Public Beta
Have you tried these roms, better than stock and Miui dialer.

Nice to know, but I was not talking about the ROM, its only about the firmware.

" I use another region for several months now and didn't encounter any issues."
You have changed the rom version, the firmware is included.
The firmware allows the os to work and is specific to your device.
For example: Chinese firmware is for Chinese rom rom.
Whatever the region of the firmware their size is identical and contains exactly the same files but the coding is different.
Xiaomi EU rom use firmware Global ou Chinese to be able to adapt their roms to all devices.
For AOSP roms it's different, since they don't use MIUI OS, the OP can recommend any firmwares.
You can see here that the size of the roms is different according to the regions.

And that the firmware have the same size

Firmware is a type of software that is etched directly into a piece of hardware. It operates without going through APIs, the operating system, or device drivers—providing the needed instructions and guidance for the device to communicate with other devices or perform a set of basic tasks and functions as intended.

I use Lineage, there is no firmware included. In fact, users have problems when using the wrong firmware all the time.

In firmware you have only your phone drivers,like Bluetooth,wifi, network.In regions,the different things in fw are modem and audio drivers.This is why if you flash wrong fw you will have problems with your network/wifi connection and video/audio will be laggy.

Hey bro, as I said the firmware is not included in the custom ROM. You need to extract it from official ROM. See here: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/alioth/fw_update
Again my question is if anyone *KNOWS* what and if they are differences in the different Firmware regions, and when to use which region. I don't care about the ROM, my question is just about the firmware.
You confuse CUSTOM ROM as Xiaomi Eu rom and AOSP ROM which are most often port rom from Google Pixel.
Hi there - I have the Chinese version of the OP9Pro and just updated to ColorOS13. I'm more than happy with ColorOS and don't necessarily need OxygenOS. However, there are a few issues I have that I want to get solved.
1. AOD - being the CN version of the rom, it doesn't make full use of the new AOD functionality - eg: Music/Delivery apps etc. I know this is there in the India OOS version. and maybe in the India COS version?
2. Hey Google - while I can use assistant, it gives me the error that 'hey google is not available on this device' - would that get fixed by switching to Oxygen OS or Color OS for India?
Finally - what is the best way to do this? I'm on the latest available COS version - 13. What is the best way to back up the device? is there a software I can use to back up to a PC/Hard Disk and then have all that data on my phone after switching firmware?
Is there a specific version of OOS or COS I should use?
Thanks! Quite new to this so would appreciate if someone can guide me to the right direction.
