How to shoot horizontal video? - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Whenever I take video on the OP3, whether I'm holding it vertical or horizontal, the video plays back vertical on my TV. Is this normal? If not, how can I get it to show horizontally on the TV?

Do you have screen rotation locked to portrait? I'm not sure if that would make a difference, but it's worth a shot

That would be hardware related (you'd still have black on the sides). However, on the software side, you could rotate the image. I know you can do this on Windows Live Movie Maker.:good:
yea I wish there was just a way to take the image vertically and convert it to horizontal on the camera. would make for a lot less vertical videos on the internet.

Yeah, would be a lot easier. There may be some Android movie making app which does what you want (at least after you take your clips). I'll let you know if I find anything.

[Q] Wallpaper resolution

I've tried 2560x1600 and 1600x2560 wallpapers but they look off if I tilt the tablet to portrait or landscape.
So, what resolution should I use?
2560x2560 The wallpaper app shifts to keep the image oriented properly that's why it clips off when switching orientation. When I started off with a larger image I was able to choose a "+" shaped section so it would fill the background at full resolution in both orientations.

Thank you.
I still couldn't find an ideal wallpaper. Even 4K ones are short on horizontal pixels.

Why does the video screen size smaller than the still pic size?

It's weird I see something I want to RECORD in video and I hit the button and the picture zooms in when the video recording starts
Is there a way to have the video be the same size as the still pictures?

you have image stabilization on.
Turning that off had no effect.
Full 12mp resolution still images are taken in a 4:3 ratio. Video recording is done in 16:9 ratio. If you just want to see the actual view you'll get when you hit record, change your photo resolution to 16:9 9.1mp and it shouldn't shift on you.
Thank you

Weird YouTube Glitch

Does anyone else experience this? When I go from portrait to landscape, this white bar appears on the bottom of the screen. It goes away when I tap the screen. I have searched and searched but no answer. I've factory reset, done everything it still shows up. Even across roms. It happens on oos as well as every other room I've tried. Please help!
Yup, experiencing the same, no solution so far.
Also another one: app refuses to go into landscape mode after a first launch when video is loaded (it does on main screen etc). I have to press the full-screen button to go into landscape and then it works normally with gyro sensor.

Just do a pinch to zoom gesture and the bars are disappearing.
Is has to do with the screen ratio.
I have this bug / feature only when the video quality is not HD.
I thought that the video is getting smaller because it looks sharper then on 480p
BTW: what phone are you using? It doesnt look like an oneplus 3.
Then why are you posting this glitch on this area of the forum?

It is a screenshot from the YouTube app. He's watching a video about the Pixel, on the OP3 and as you can see, the white bar is on the screen.

Question How to make screen rotate when watching a video horizontal

On my note 10 plus when you have screen lock ON but play a video it will still rotate horizontal. The only time auto rotate is help is when watching a video but it's too sensitive especially when laying down...... I get the screen doesn't suppose to rotate with screen lock on but it still rotates horizontal on my note 10 plus. Don't know if it's a android or Samsung ui thing
Claritiy: how to make the screen rotate horizontal only when watching videos with screen lock on.... I know it's possible I have it on the note 10 right now
Depends on the video player i think. Some just play in wide.
