Fingerprint vibration - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

I dislike all haptic feedback. Feels cheap. I have disabled all, but fingerprint unlock still causes vibration.
If I put power saver mode on (android settings NOT p2 switch) it totally disabled the finger print vibration. But I don't want bright orange power save on!
Is there any solution? It must be easy to sort ooutt if power save resolves it?
Cheers

Lol .. Disable haptic feedback for presses of fingerprint sensor isn't working ..
Hehe ..Nice bug discovery bro

It's not a bug bro, I'm wondering if there is a work around bro. I would like the option to disable all haptic vibration, including print reader. Can you help bro?

Same issue here it feels really cheap. There's no way to disable it unfortunately.

Have you test this settings?

@Apfelman123, I disabled this, but seems to not have any effect on fingerprint vibration.

It's probably intentional and I don't really mind the feedback since it tells you when it doesn't recognize your fingerprint. However, an option to disable it regardless would be nice.

I noticed that in the newest RR 5.8.3 Nougat 7.1.2 there is an option to disable the fingerprint authentication vibration.

Noob question?

Okay I am on CM7 and for the life of me I cannot use the volume keys to get silent. In the options it lets me take off vibrate and just have silent. I don't understand why something so easy is hard.
World peace with no regard for human life.
Go to Settings -> CM settings -> Sound -> Check silent state. With that enabled, pressing volume down once you're at 0 should take you first to vibrate, then to full silent mode.
That worked. Never thought CM7 would have it's own sound settings along with the normal settings. I had to go back, put vibrate to always and check that box in cmsound. Thanks man.

No problem! Yeah, there are a lot of useful settings in the cm section. Sometimes it does seem it'd make more sense to integrate it into the main settings screens though.

*went through all cmsettings* Yep, lot in here. I'm constantly looking for a new way to appreciate my phone. Sometimes I do not like it and want to switch to a new phone.

AOKP's Torch Wake Lock flaw

According to BetterBatteryStats the Torch Wake Lock is keeping my phone constantly awake even though the screen is on. How can I disable/uninstall torch from the system if it isn't an app from what I understand?

unless im mistaken i believe this has something to do with the FASTTORCH in the rom settings; enabling this leaves your device open to the wake lock. i noticed when i disabled and rebooted mine went away

I've never turned on fast torch so I don't know why it's doing it , but I've switched fast torch on and off, switched off volume for music skipping, and turned off legacy menu icon unlock. Now it seems my phone is sleeping properly after I turn off the screen.

Proximity Sensor Issue - Hardware Issue

I have Motorola Defy MB525. A Strange issue surfaced recently. The Proximity sensor is behaving weird - It works sometimes and doesnt sometime!
Sometimes even after the call, the red color sensor keeps lit until I pass my finger over it to close.
As soon as I make a call, the display turns off completely and I am left with no option to turn the screen ON to disconnect the call or do any other task. The moment the call gets disconnected, the light turn ON back.
The situation is weird and I am sure its something related with hardware as I tried various other ROM and its the same result in each ROM!
What I need to ask is, whether there is any method to turn off the sensor completely? Or I should just smash that sensor to make it go die and non-functional?
The sensor is attached to motherboard and not a separate hardware at motherboard unlike camera and other stuffs.
Any suggestions or ideas to overcome this strange issue?

There are some reports that turning the screw behind the Proximity sensor half a turn would fix the problem.

Flip for Speaker feature missing

I recently upgraded to M8 from old One S and missing "Flip for Speaker" feature a lot. If somebody doesn't know that was a feature in many HTC phones earlier that would turn on speakerphone during call if you flip your phone screen down on the table. Helps a lot during those wait times etc. There is no such thing on M8 and I'm missing it a lot. I thought first that may be they removed it due to the front speakers, but I tested speaker and microphone face down and see absolutely no issue. I tried a separate "UpSoundDown" app, but it doesn't work very well.
Can somebody tell me is there a ROM that has the feature that I'm looking for? Is there a Kernel that can enable it? Where to look for this and where to request it if feature wasn't implemented?

No any input on this?
If anyone interested the best solution I found so far is Auto Speaker app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hanan.android.ramkol&hl=en
It works pretty good , but still I would much prefer "Flip for Speaker" option, because of lower power consumption during those waiting times and due to the way Auto Speaker switch works.
Does anyone know xposed module with such functionality? Where would be a good place to put a rom/xposed request like this?

Tapping feels weird. Am I the only one?

Hi everybody,
I have an annoying issue with the handling issue and I'd like to know if you have the same experience.
I hope this is half-way understandable, it's kind of hard to describe when you're not a native speaker
In some apps, I'm often not able to select a UI element on the first try. I found this is because the S4 Tab has a very aggressive detection of tapping inputs that will make it a movement instead of a tap if you move you finger the slightest wile tapping. Unfortunately this happens to me all the time since through pressing my finger onto the display, it flattens and expands it's surface, thus creating more touch input and failing to tap. After failing, I remember the issue and will tap very fast and it will work, but it happens to me alle the time.
I've had about 10 other tablets and smartphones and never saw such behaviour. Is there any way to fix this? I've already looked in the settings but didn't find anything that helped me.
Here's a screenshot of a touchscreen test app to clarify the issue.

FWIW, my touch sensitivity has gotten worse also. Maybe since the December security update. I had to tap 3 times on your post to get it to open.
I've tried clearing cache in recovery and rebooting, but no improvement. I was hoping our android pie update drops soon so I can just factory reset and see what happens.
