Hi all
I recently sold my oneplus 3 to a person who has moved interstate
They rebooted the phone today and it won't let her in to the phone unless she signs in with my password.
I don't want to give her my password.
I have signed out of the device on android device manager.
Can someone please help me.

There's a few FRP bypass methods out there. But the safest thing to do is to get it shipped back to you, sign into Google, REMOVE the Google account properly, and then perform a factory reset through Settings.
Or the new owner could just boot into recovery and do factory reset ...

That's not how FRP locks work.
Just send a factory reset or wipe order from android device manager
I logged out through android device manager, this method didnt work to begin with but after an hour was all good.

have you tried a factory reset from the hboot screen?
Normally the default pin for the phone with be the last 4 of the phone number.

Try to give the wrong answer continuously until the phone is either frozen or locked for several seconds.
After that you should find a Forget Password / Pattern button, press this button and it should bring you to a screen to input your Google account username or password (Gmail account).
This step should bypass or unlock your forgotten security protection on your HTC ONE M7.
I have never used password or pin protection, so I cannot guarantee the results.
I hope that works for you, as I do not know why a factory reset wouldn't, unless it's recognizing the phone by your number and continuing to lock you out even after a hard reset.
I wish you luck! :good:

If you were locked out from the moment you bought it, I would request a refund.
Only way it will get unlocked at this point, is by the person who locked it, sounds like.
It's possible that if it came to you this way, it might even be stolen.
Not what you wanna hear. But that's what I would do.
That's if it did in fact come to you this way.
If not, then you should be able to remember your pin.
Really don't know if there's much that anyone else can suggest.

Because a security lock on a device isn't intended to be simply bypassed by wiping the device.
That would be way too easy for thieves.

If you bought it on ebay then you should contact the seller. If you do not get any help from the seller then open a case against the seller and ebay will help you to resolve the situation. If you receive an item bought on ebay that was not as described then you have options.
The only other thing I would suggest is to go to a verizon store and see if they might have way to bypass the password.
Hello, this is my first post so forgive me if I'm in the wrong area. Let me try to explain where I'm at. I purchased an HTC6500LVW from Craigslist that was restarting randomly. I figured if it boots up and works, even for a little while, I could find a solution on XDA to fix it. Well, I've tried to reset the phone a few different ways with no luck and even tried to use a tested working EXE version of the last RUU for the the verizon m7 (4.4.3) (from one of dottat's posts). The phone is locked, S-on, not rooted. The phone has a free version of McAfee Mobile app on it that is set up for security. I have never dealt with McAfee and I think their app is the cause of my problem. I can unlock the device with the McAfee PIN but it keeps prompting every few minutes. I can go into Device Administrator and revoke McAfee's permission and then uninstall the app. Then I do a factory reset and it doesn't work. Every time the phone reboots it ends up right back where I started with none of my changes saved and the McAfee app back on it with its crazy security PIN prompts. It says something about NV files when it's trying to do a factory reset. Is that some sort of security file that restores it back to where I started?
How particular is this phone when it comes to cables? I don't have original HTC data cable.

Well, I've confirmed with Verizon that McAfee doesn't come pre-installed. I talked to HTC and they were stumped. The rep said that I could send it in for a new board to the tune of $230 USD. However, HTC is sending me a data cable. I did an online chat with McAfee tech support (and I use the term loosely) and they said they would have to escalate me to a senior technician.
When I try to wipe cache partition it says:
Mount SDCARD failed 1 times
Mount SDCARD failed 2 times
Mount SDCARD failed 3 times
Mount SDCARD failed 4 times
Mount SDCARD failed 5 times
Can not mount SD Card.(No such device)
Write host_mode:0 done
Here's what it says when I try to perform a hard reset.
--Wiping data...
Restore NV for Verizon. . .
Formatting /data. . .
Backup Data Preload
Backup CW Package
Restore Data Preload
Restore CW Package
Formatting /cache. . .
Data wipe complete.
Write host_mode:0 done
Does that look correct? Because it returns to right where I left it. Same junk is still on phone from previous owner.
I talked with Senior Technician from McAfee this morning. He asked me to put phone in safe mode to uninstall third party apps (theirs). The phone would not enter safe mode by holding power button on top and then long pressing power off option and selecting to restart in safe mode. He told me if it couldn't enter safe mode he couldn't help me and I would need to contact HTC (again).
So... I call HTC and speak with a rep about entering safe mode. He has me go into power setting and uncheck fastboot then power phone down and then restart but hold volume down key as soon as I see HTC logo on boot and release after it completes boot. Now it enters safe mode.
I deactivate admin rights for McAfee and uninstall app. I restart phone in normal mode - McAfee is back. I repeat but perform factory reset through settings this time - same problem. I repeat again but perform hard reset through factory recovery - nothing.
Still dead in the water.

I looked at this last night... the pone acts like it's write protected for every partition on the phone. No form of reset while s-on works. Phone won't s-off either because nothing you change on the phone persists after a reboot.

Wow that's crazy. I wonder if maybe they had it encrypted before they sold it to him and then did a reset which yielded the same results he keeps having. I don't know any other way the entire phone could be write protected unless it was encrypted or a script running on boot that causes it.

That didn't work, it weird because my phone is like the OPs phone. Except the phone will bootloop kinda like it will either load OS for like 5-20 sec and then reboot over and over or just straight bootloop. I get same results when trying to factory restore. Also if it does go to os for the 5-20 sec then like almost every app forecloses. I tried safe mode as well same situation. Also very weird is trying to use the rru and attempting to unlock bootloader. I managed after days of frustration to get it to fastbootusb but when I run rru it says Waiting for bootloader (I was already in fastbootusb) then it reboots the phone and goes to bootloop losing connection resulting in fail of umbrick. By the way it says like USB device unknown blah blah blah it malfunctioned. Then the same reboot situation happened when trying to unlock bootloader. Any ideas how to get this phone going?

Just got a new HTC 10 from swappa today and upon boot I found a lockscreen pattern waiting for me. So after a factory reset from recovery I think all is well until I try logging in...
"sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device"
So can I just flash a factory image or something? Haven't used an HTC device since my little Hero bit the dust ages ago.
Flashing firmware resulted in the same message upon boot, and I can't seem to use an RUU without going through setup.

Not sure about getting around it since I've never had to deal with this. But since it's from Swappa just post on their site you received it the way you mention above and the seller needs to give you his email + password.
Make sure not to finish the sale until you get this sorted. A factory reset is a requirement of the seller.
Best of luck.
I'm probably just stating the obvious here but if it's s-off of BL unlocked you can (I think, I've never tried..) fastboot flash twrp from download mode and the. format the internal storage from twrp. I think that'll get rid of that?
If it's it's s-on/ locked then I have no idea.

No such luck. I was thinking I might be able to flash the extracted 2PS6IMG.zip to get back to 100% stock, but even then I think with the new Android Device Protection it will still be locked.
Hopefully the guy sends me his login details so I can do a proper factory reset :/

Find the RUU zip for your device, Rename it to 2PS6IMG.zip and place it on sdcard, boot to download mode and Follow the on screen instructions.
Disabling frp needs s-off and issuing a fastboot command. Flashing an RUU won't do much I think

Oh man that is awesome (as long as you're not counting on frp to protect your device). Fortunately the seller gave me his gmail login to fix it. Kind of wish I had found the video first because bypassing it like that would have been much more satisfying.
Hey Forum! Hopefully y'all can help me. I have a S9 from Rent A Center and so does my wife, well her phone updated to Pie(9.0) 3 weeks ago and we're both on Cricket Wireless. Well mine hasn't updated and I've even went in and manually checking for updates and it says my phone is up to date so I downloaded the firmware from Sammobile and it failed cause i forgot to turn on USB Debugging in the developer options. So I restart my phone and go to settings and hit the build number and it says that developer options has already been turned on. But back in settings the options are nowhere to be found. So I figured doing a factory reset would help, but when i reset the phone and booted it up and went back to the build number and pressed it 7 times instead of saying developer options had been enabled it backed completely back out to my home screen and so i went back to settings and hit the build number again and it said that the developer options had already been turned on but again nowhere to be seen. So my question is is there a way to remove RAC from the phone or is there a way to remove knox where rac is on the phone? I need help cause I want the update, but it seems there is no way to do it with RAC on the phone.
USB debugging has nothing to do with flashing firmware with Odin
Ok then. I get a mdm mode cant download when I try flashing the firmware in download mode

Not sure if it still works with the S9, but there was a trick where you set up PIN security on the phone, but also enable the setting where if the wrong PIN is entered 10 times it factory resets the device, this supposedly removed the Rent-a-Centre crap after the reset which you cannot do while it is still active
Then enter the PIN 10 times wrongly

No, same one but supposedly you do not have access to that with Rent a Centre software on the device, nor can you do it from recovery (As far as I am aware from reading others with the same phones)
