I've got an LG Optimus M with 2.2.1 on it. I've read the post on the android forum (I can't post a link here since I'm new)...
And I'll be VERY honest... I think it may be over my head. If there is anyone here that help "hand hold" (remote desktop, or other)... let me know. I'd be happy to PayPal some funds for your time. All I know is I need all this "extra" crap off my phone!
Thanks In Advance!
Pete
Did you read this tutorial: rootd0wn.wordpress DOT com/2011/04/05/rooting-optimus-m-2-2-1/
found here androidforums DOT com/optimus-m-all-things-root/312657-how-root-optimus-m-2-2-1-a.html
Replace "DOT com" with ".com"
Root using SuperOneClick, ADB and other software tools
Did any one try this?
http://forum.androidcentral.com/optimus-v-rooting-roms-hacks/57485-how-root-lg-optimus-v.html
You may need to create your user id / password to see all the links. LG Optimus V is very same as LG Optimus M. The above Root Method for LG Optimus V should work for LG Optimus M too. The above root works well on Android 2.2.2 (No need to downgrade to 2.2.1).
Also, please refer to following:
No need to download and install Android SDK for ADB.
We need only 3 files for ADB to work (if we are not doing any Android programming/development and are using ADB to Root/Mod the phone).
adb.exe or adb
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
Down load this - SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse.zip and it contains software components needed for running ADB Tool successfully.

Hi Brahmnoor,
I am now having an E975 with Singapore (STL) V10c.
Having tried many methods and still cannot get it rooted.
So, can you please send your E975 root tool to my email?
Internel provider here has blocked many file hosting websites and I can't access mediafire these days.
My email is [email protected]
Thanks and Best Regards!

Only 10a is rootable, the others have been blocked by LG so we have to wait for a new way to do it.
If you can find the KDZ for 10a you can downgrade and root.

The ZVB method in the Sprint forum works on 10b, so just use that if root didn't stick.
I´m on 10b software and have also tried the TUT in Sprint forum without luck? Did someone manage to root 10b?

Did you try any other method before so you maybe have an old G_security file laying on you sdcard?
Also in the script it says
adb shell "echo -en \\x0d > /sdcard/G_security"
And not
adb shell touch /sdcard/G_security

I Will look into it. Sounds possible.
Edit: Big thanks to wargreymon89. I did try one or two methods before trying the sprint one. It didn´t occur to me that I had this G_security file floating around and that it was "bad". All I had to do was delete this file and run the ZV9-ZVB-Root tool again, and...Viola!
Dunno what I should do without xda. Saved me a lot of trouble

I can confirm that this methode work for me with the E97510B EUR version on mine Optimus G F180L and after this I could install the BasebandL (for my F180L), each model had his own baseband file/tool.
I used first the Wipe tool, then the flash tool to install the E97510B then the root tool as above and the the baseband, everything work fine.

Take a root guide? Yes, thats why we put them on the internet, to learn and to share.
But I tried before the fiddy619, but it didn't work for my on the E97510B version, maybe it work for the E97510A, I don't know.
But when you edit the file CurrentRoot.bat file and change the line "adb shell touch /sdcard/G_security to"
"adb shell "echo -en \\x0d > /sdcard/G_security" " and save the file and use it, then you can root a E975B version.

FIRST OF PLEASE EXPLAIN ME THAT WHAT IS TERMINAL EMULATOR WHICH IS PREINSTALLED IN CYANOGENMOD WHEN I FLASHED IT??
AND PLEASE EXPLAIN ME THAT HOW IT IS USEFUL FOR ME ??
AND HOW CAN OPERATE IT AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE IT IS USED??
Its a simply an app that directly handles and interacts with the device via specific set of codes...its useful and handy if you know few commands...
U can delete a file..create 1....create user..and these examples are short then what actual powerful tool it is...simply type reboot and it will reboot...its just an example...its like a window in which u type commands and code will be interpreted and executed.... U can see more on Google about its codes ...
Hope i helped

Please don't write with caps lock.
Terminal Emulator is like command line in Windows (cmd.exe) or terminal in most Linux distros.
Some common Linux commands can be used on Terminal Emulator because Android is technically based on Linux kernel.

Good night!
I flashed rom with all wipe and fix permissions. The errors dont stop, "com.android.phone stoped."
Errors start's when i put pin.
I try check imei and value is null.
Any sugestion for this?
Tanks!
Update:
Try put backuped efs and didn't work
Restore imei and same.
Work with other roms!
I installed the ROM and did not get the above mentioned error. May be something previously installed (such as custom ROM) is causing this error but you did do the full-wipe, not sure.

Hi,
Quick question to author.
You pasted lines to be executed by ADB:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-2.8.0.0_CHANGEME-signed.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
BUT
in first line we read from /dev/zero and write to /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
in second line we read from /sdcard/twrp-2.8.0.0_CHANGEME-signed.img and write to the same file.
Am I right? If so, what is sense of doing this, maybe you mistyped the commands?
Second question, if I type command like:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery of=/backup-recovery.img
would I do backup of default recovery?
Init.d support?

Unsure if you know or not, but you have to put the image for your model on your memory and replace CHANGEME in the line with your model.

Sure, I read the whole instruction carefully. This is the reason why I asked my question because these two instructions look strange for me when used together one after another.
the download links broken
can someone give other link for download ? i tried all mirors all broken
yes you can! No you can't post!
Yesterday I did the same thing you are thinking, I get so tired of the battery life, modem and lag issues with the Lollipop version, so I ended with a format data (TWRP) restoring my modem and efs backup (the one you did when you upgrade to Lollipop) and flash with a clean installation, everything is working flawless so far, I'm so happy with this ROM that I won't bother with LP for the next months. Hope it helps!
What happened! I was about to help someone in the dev section and suddenly I'm here!
