Stable ROM with best camera quality - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone. I'm currently running LOS 14.1 on my D855 and loving it. I know that you cannot get the same camera quality in CM/LOS based ROMs as with stock but I'm not a big camera user therefore I don't mind that much.
However, I will be travelling abroad next week to various cities and I know I will be using my phone's camera quite a lot. Therefore I would like to install (just for this week) a stock based ROM with the best possible camera quality. Doesn't matter if it's Lollipop or Marshmallow.
I'm waiting for your suggestions.

Try Fulmics 6.9, its a great ROM and has all the original camera drivers so the picture quality is excellent

Thanks for the reply.
Doesn't it matter that Fulmics 6.9 is based on LG G5? What I mean is: will it have the same camera quality (and original camera drivers) as a stock-based LG G3 ROM?

I prefer Stock type camera rather than CM, because it has 60fps mode and the user interface looks better for me IMHO. I don't think you'll get noticeable better quality photos with ROM changing as you do not change the optic and actual camera hardware.

Nope, no changes on stock ROMs.
Probably you will see any change if you flash AOSP rom but thats normal because AOSP dont have LG camera drivers, modules, etc..

Lg g3 laser auto focus on non stockroms?

Hey all, just read that the Nexus 5x made by LG has a stock Android ROM.
Would this mean the laser focus and other camera quality enhanchments could be ported for us G3 users. Or am i to enthousiastic.

You clearly dont have a understanding of how android development works
If you want camera quality enhancements you have to recode the drivers for it from scratch and its not as easy as you think
Offcourse i understand that it is not easy. But due to the closed source framework of the official g3 ROM. Porting is impossible. Now what i ment or intented was, the Nexus would be plain Android. And sources would be availble. So would it be 'more' possible to get it to run.

Which ROM is the best for photos?

I think the chinese stable rom should shoot the best, but which custom rom shoots the same?
If you want the best photo quality, go and buy a DSLR...
BTW: That's not the right section for questions

Since almost all custom ROMs for the MI 6 use the standard MIUI camera app it really doesn't matter which ROM you choose.

Does it all come down to the app though? Surely the missing MIUI libraries in AOSP ROMs negatively impact on picture quality.
i see the camera on Mi Note 3 has hardware same as Mi6
so why the photos taken by Mi Note 3 better than Mi6?

stock camera vs custom ROM camera

Hello friends,
I am very much concerned about camera quality.
I have my oneplus 3t in which I feel the ported GCAM is not better than stock oneplus camera in all lighting conditions.
But I want to know from you guys who use custom ROM in google pixel devices that
what camera is included in the custom ROM of Google Pixel 2 XL because for other OEMs, ported GCAM is available but here the device is itself made by google, and how is the camera quality as compared to the stock camera.
Please answer, so that I can take decision while buying a next pixel phone on the basis of xda community.
You get stock camera even in custom roms. I am AOSiP rom now and I am using stock apps. So basically you get everything thats stock with some customizations you can make.
