Do all the guides here apply to a Sprint version of the HTC 10 as well? From what I'm seeing it appears they do, the specific xda forum for the sprint version has very little content and only appears to be relavent if you want to stay on sprint modified roms. Please advise as I'm a bit confused. Hoping the guides and roms here will work on my carrier version.
Thanks!

Most mods and guides are carrier unspecific. Only thing you need to be careful of is, when it comes to firmware or modded bootloader images. Those are carrier specific and flashing one not for your device may brick it.
Not all roms are sprint compatible.
Ours is, instructions what you need to do for it are on our homepage.

Awesome. What are you referring to when you say firmware and modded bootloaders? A full RUU restore with non sprint files?
Also i think i understand what is needed here. Just need to follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/guide-root-optionally-s-off-radio-t3373025 (Sim unlocked not needed correct?). Once i complete that guide I can then just install your rom via TWRP per the instructions correct?
Thanks again!

As of right now, the roms for your S3 are not meant to be used on other S3 variants. Bricks might happens or a soft one might happen. Before flashing a Rom make sure you are in the right development section an you read the entire op, twice. Until other devs or experienced users find a way to make them cross compatible, please refrain from using other carriers S3 roms.
Also wind mobile an Tmobile are interchangeable, just don't flash the modems.
ONLY FLASH THE ROMS IN THIS FORUM!

I second this, guys PLEASE don't risk it. It is not worth it. Right now I think most devs are working on their own ROMs, but we should have a patch soon to allow cross-compatibility.
think some peeps are confused by whats before tmo development. (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III) just my opinion but good idea on thread.
Mr Highway:
Could you start another thread for Windmobile Android Development?
In the past all Windmobile phones are just T-mobile phone rebadge.
In this case, it does not in terms of kernels....(and may be baseband)
I am working on this so that all roms will work on all carriers

AMEN!! Some fool I know ALREADY called me with a bricked gs3! I'm gonna sit back and let the pros do their thing, and that's DEFINITELY the safest bet!
thanks for the reminder and jsut to make sure ....
i have rogers sgh-i747
i want to be in this AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III - xda-developers thread for everything correct ?
and not in the Samsung Galaxy S III I9300 thread ?
I keep seeing posts about ROMs that can work on these variants of galaxy S3s. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the ROMs supposed to be specific to GSM or CDMA? When I flashed windows based roms on my touch pro II, that was one of the things to look out for. Is it possible to create a ROM for all carriers?

Yes and no.
With the use of aroma-installer, we could set it up to detect your phone type (well, not we....I don't know that much about it but I saw the thread discussing this) and aroma would be able to install the necessary files based on your phone.
As of now, for instance, mine works across all GSM carriers. clark44 is current working to get everything switched up so it also works for Sprint (mostly appears to be the apk files and XML files) that are specific to the phone. As of now, he has it booting and working fine except there is a large rush of FCs on initial bootup but then everything runs fine.
I wasn't even aware you could make a patch to allow cross-compatibility! XDA never fails to surprise
Just a thought, but maybe they could do it like the SlimROM on multiple devices. He has a common base ROM and another flashable for each device supported. It works out perfectly and multiple ROMs for multiple carriers.
I figure it will be easier than doing it for different devices since I read that all the US variants are essentially the same. Not sure but worth a look.

I use it for the Vibrant

Will there ever be any SGH-T999V development?
Does anyone think that someone with a SGH-T999V Wind Mobile variant will ever be able to root their phone so they can overclock the cpu, etc?
Why not? I am using a custom rom and overclocked to 1890 at the moment.
Just use the windows way to root. I knbow it works
I have not tried the toolkit.
If you are going to flash a custom rom just make sure it does not contain the boot, modem and amss file in the rom that you are flashing.

I'm more curious as to what exactly the differences are between the 2 variants (i.e. t999 vs t999v). What could possibly make them so different from each other that ROMs from tmobile wouldn't work on wind GS3?
What if you accidentally tried to flash i9300 rom and your phone is not turning on.
With the forums changed I accidentally flashed the wrong version rom on my phone. :crying:

Thanks for the link, unfortunately the phone will not go into download mode for odin, it won't even turn on.
After doing some research it looks like I have to fix it through jtag.
I think I could do it, but you need some expensive jtag box that connects to the computer(It's called the Riff Box), but it would be cheaper if I just sent my phone into here it costs $60. Not ideal, but not a complete disaster either. Unless there is some other way to JTAG I am out of options.

Hello all,
I did a search and was not able to find what I'm looking for. All I need/want is stock AT&T JB 4.1.2 with tethering (Carrier unlock would be nice too).
Is there one available? If yes, would someone point it out to me. If not, what is the closest I can come to this? I just do not want any bloatware or an unstable OS.
Thank you in advance,
-NJ

Well first off we don't have a "stock" AT&T JB 4.1.2 because they have not released it. You would not be able to get "Carrier unlock unlock," unless you mean that you want to change the carrier name not actually unlock your phone to be used on another network. But if you want to actually unlock your device to be used for another carrier you need to get the sim unlock way. You can find that information in this forum.
And the closest thing that you can have bloat removed and tethering is to Go Into the Forum that says Android Developemnt (not Original Development.) to find ROM's that can be installed. Be sure to read the Original Post (OP) found on the first page of the thread, make sure you are rooted and to follow all directions there...you can also find the description of the ROM contents in the Change Log..
Hope this answers your question.
Best wishes.
I'm pretty sure 4.1.1 stock work with tethering really well and there is no 4.1.2 release yet, I can't believe how slow carrier/Samsung can be Lol...

Which roms should I be using as it appears there is no rogers specific t0lte Roms. There is an att and a T-Mobile one (as well as a generic t0lte) I don't want to screw something up and I've found various answers on google(saying different things) and I trust the people on here so I figured I'd just ask here. (Sorry if this had been asked before search wasn't working)

most of the time the ATT version (i317) should work, but if you just want to be absolutely safe check whether it supports Rogers (i317M).

Easy: all t0lte GSM/WCDMA/LTE ROMs are interchangeable. Modems and bootloaders are not.
I don't think CDMA (e.g. Verizon and Sprint) ROMs work out of the box but I haven't bothered checking.

Are modems not included in roms? And I didn't know bootloaders were changeable? (I may misunderstand what a bootloader is so feel free to explain)

Maybe: When in doubt, check the ROM recovery zip installer or Odin tar archive.

They're upgradeable, but that's not something you would be playing with most of the time, if ever. You wouldn't normally encounter this on recovery flashable ROMs, maybe on Odin packages. Look up aboot, tz, param.img and SBL for more details.
Hi, is there anyway I can convert a Galaxy S6 Edge from T-Mobile to International variant? I used to own a HTC One and I could simply change the CID and MID to be able to install different ROMs and firmwares form other Htc One variants.

I routinely used International Roms on my Tmob S5 no issues. Simply root then flash whatever. The Tmob variant used the Qualcomm processor so one had to just make sure they flashed the correct International version, which as far as Tmob goes, was the KLTE International model.

Never really a good idea here on XDA asking "What is the best ROM". It is so early in the game right now I would just watch the Forum posts here and on the XDA International site for ROMs as they come out from various developers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general
Here is a link to the general section for the Samsung galaxy S6 which references the International site. Plus I have no clue at this time if they will be mixing and matching S6 vs S6 Edge Roms, just because the Edge obviously will have a few more capabilities. Again, this is way too early in the game to be even thinking about a 'best Rom"
Also interested to know if it can be converted to international so I can get international updates instead of waiting for Tmobile to push it out. Flashing roms is a no-brainer. Now that all S phones have the same hardware, I'm interested in straight conversion like HTC phone(s) are able to do.

if I understood correctly , I have G920T (from T-Mobile US), I'll be able to upload the firmware of an international G920F. Settings of LTE will change just as it has a model F ?
What about the wifi calling? You would lose this with the international rom wouldn't you? I had actually been thinking about getting the international (for the green that us disenfranchised Yanks don't get) and then putting tmo software on it.
Considering we have TWRP it should be a matter of time until we are running international roms. If I wasn't going to work I would be flashing it now

I'm wondering if I should attempt to flash an international rom. We do have twrp of course and if anything weird happens it is an odin fix away granted.
I guess I'll be intrepid and try it out. I sort of need to have an int'l rom because I also need to sim unlock the device

For Verizon, really NO.
But I'm thinking VZN will update soon. It was scheduled for Jan. Which is obviously not the case, but hopfully soon. Sprint is now rolling out.

My warning applies only to Sprint and Verizon variants, which support CDMA (have different partitioning from non-CDMA versions). You cannot install other versions firmware to Sprint and Verizon variants.
You can install international firmware to the AT&T version m8 with s-off (may need to change the CID, MID depending on whether the firmware was hacked or not).

Hard to say, there isn't enough info to answer this definitively/properly.
If the version has a MM RUU, the easiest solution is probably to run the RUU (will wipe phone).
