Hi,
I have a problem with my 5X: every time instead of dropping 1% it's dropping 2%. Like from 99 % to 97 %, from 54 % to 52 %, etc... it happens almost everytime. The battery life is somewhat good with 3 hours of SOT always on Wi-Fi without 4G. So should I install another ROM or kernel or something ? I don't think that a ROM/kernel will make a big difference beacuse they are based on AOSP and that's what Google includes by default on Nexus.
What's your take on this problem ?
Nexus 5X 16 GB - H791
Android 7.1.1 - February 2017 security patch
The phone is 2 months old
Thanks a lot !
I currently have this problem on 7.1.2(elementalx+pixelrom), I had it on 6.0 but not in 7.0-7.1. Don't know if the phone is consuming 1% and the system shows 2% or it consumes more.
same here!
It's a known problem for this device. This can't be fixed in any way.
There are more capacious batteries on the market?

Hi, just wondering if someone can tell me which ROM is best for battery life. I'm currently using blendkernel, is there any particular combination of kernel/ROM/baseband etc, not fussed about overclocking, just purely want it to last!!
Thanks
From my personal experience, the stock rom is the best for battery life, though I've switched to using arconium since it's just a tweaked version of the stock rom.
There's a few out there (that are just a tweaked version of the stock rom), so take a look in the development section and find one you like.
Using the stock kernel sometimes makes a difference as well (it did for me) so you might want to try that as well.
For me, using blendkernel, the ROM that optimizes battery and is 100% operational, is 【ROM】【LT15I/18I】Xperia_AniKing_v1.0.0_Ice Cream
for me till now i used only one room it's MIUI and till now it's fine
Ok, thanks for that, I'm going to give the Aniking ROM a go and see what happens...

Can the blendkernel (original for MIUI) be used for any other ROM? Like stock ROMs or even CM7?
I always thought that blendkernel can be only used for MIUI based ROMs....
I'm using the kernel from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278760
Seems to work fine with most ROMs and I've found the battery to be much better than using Doomkernel...
Hi,
Just a few days ago I've installed the Miui rom on my lt15i as posted on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528924 with the 2.6.32.9-BlendMIUI kernel by Jason Stein. However in these few days my phone has to be charged every night after being unplugged for about 20 hours.
Today in 16.5 hours my battery has dropped from 100% to 15%. Most of the time the phone is in sleep mode and I've measured that the battery drained about 3-4% per hour while in sleep mode. The phone synch with 2 google accounts in the background and the screen brightness is set to 25%.
For the rest I've made a few short phone calls (about 10 minutes of total talk time), browse the internet for like 15 minutes on the internet forums and played about 10 minutes of Coindozer.
Is this kind of battery life normal when running the MIUI rom on the BlendMIUI Kernel? In "Battery use" in "Battery settings" I got these stats:
Cell standby: 42%
Voice calls: 21%
Phone idle: 10
Display: 9%
Wlan: 5 %
Opera Mobile: 4%
Android OS: 4%
The rest are just about 1-2%
Seems like I'm better off with the stock rom as most of the time I can get about 30 hours using the phone before having to put it on charger. Now I can only get about 20 hours
Anyway I would be happy if anyone can give me advise how to get more battery life out of my phone while using the Miui Rom, cause it's working quite neat in my opinion and looks very polished.
Regards,
Albert

You can try to undervolt cpu supply if your kernel supports this feature.
Also try to flash baseband libs (only for -36 and -64).
I prefer the stock based roms.. I personally like the XperiaMod but I have been using Arconium 8.0 from last 4 days and its battery drain is just awesome!
If u wanna have an ICS one, simply flash the KA 10 Ice Cream Sony.. Simply the most stable and best ICS rom till date!!
Hit Thanks if I helped u..
I recommend Arconium 8.0. It is basically the rom your phone came with, but it's a tweaked version of it.
I also found Miui battery friendly. I've been using DiMiui for a couple of weeks now, and I can't complain.

Well, I just got hinted that it is possible my battery needs to be recalibrated. Last time I flashed my rom, my battery was not fully charged. I've looked up on internet and indeed some articles states that everytime you flash your rom your battery have to be fully charged to avoid this kind of trouble. I'll try recalibarting my battery.

Hey,
I recently unlocked my bootloader, rooted, and installed CM10 on my HOX. I did a full battery drain and then full recharge before using, and still noticed that my batter is still being drained at a worrying rate. (3 hours gone and just 57% battery left) The screen takes 52%, but the Android OS takes 21% and the Android System takes 5%
Is there anyway I can reduce this battery drain? I understand the ROM is still in Alpha, but I've heard people still achieving 3 hours screen time with it! Maybe something to do with getting a new efficient kernel ? (I'm still new to all this).
Many thanks in advance

Firstly, what kernel are you using?
Give it a few days to settle in first.

Stock kernel I presume :/
Try another kernel after a few days of letting things settle in.

hi there - just a thought of sharing with you since you've already rooted your phone -
- Domination ROM CM10 thanks to Owain94 check it out on the forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1799375
- NCX 0.99bOC kernel by n3ocort3x see comparison here done by nimrodity (thank you guys) http://androidroots.com/king-of-kernels-kernel-comparison-htc-one-x/
Again it's a custom ROM expect for some bugs to come up - but you decide at the end since this version are better than alpha
Enjoying the flexibility & efficiency of the battery life on my HTC One X!
Hi i am from mexico due to my carrier havent realised the 4.1.2 update i decided to install a canadian 4.1.2 stock rom (rogers). It worked like a charm i can receive calls, sms and use mobile date without any problems.... but i feel a litte drain of battery. When the phone is in deep sleep mode it doesnt consum much but when the screen is on the battery goes about 1% every 4 min more or less. I decided to check better battery stats and partial wakelocks seems so good for my opinion but there is something wrong in "other" module. it appears no or unknown signal with 100%!!! is it due to this rom is not from my country? i have tried with other modem and stills the same. i dont why it appears like no or unknown signal if the signal is so good. i attache some screenshots. Thank you so much for your time and sorry for my bad english!!
Don't know about what it's being reported by BBS versus the ROM but 1% every 4 minutes equates to 15% battery usage an hour with screen on. Definitely no issues there.

So Just to announce where I am coming from, I am a Sony fan for the past 4 years, Had the Z2 and was totally blown away by the battery life it offered. Then I got the Z5P and even though the battery performance was nowhere near the Z2 I still got through an entire day with it without issues so I was happy.
Then came the Nougat update and all hell broke loose. I am literally getting just 6 hrs of battery life since the update. And even when it is idle it still drains battery like atleast 2 percent every hour.
Also the charging is very slow. I have a quick charger that used to take the battery life from 0 to 20 in atleast 10 - 15 mins. But now it actually drains the battery if I am using the phone while charging. And yes I have switched off the battery optimization option.
Any help will be appreciated even if it is just a confirmation that I am not the only one having this issue, which will at least let me know that it is not just my phone.
There must be some process with corrupted data after de update which is constantly executing something. I recommend you to do a full wipe, factory reset

Oh did not know this could happen. Will definitely try doing a full wipe and see how things go! Thanks a lot!
I never fully trust OTA updates, because it keeps all the applications data and some special case of your current configuration maybe is not "converted" to the new version and causes the programs to behave weird. Have you looked at the battery usage? Maybe you find the process which a huge % of battery eaten, and just wiping that app data is enough

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I looked at the battery usage stats and no specific app is draining more than 2 percent of the battery over a charge. The only things that have taken most out of the battery are 1. The Screen On Time which is to expected and 2. The Idle Phone which takes around 15% consistently in every charge.

after updating to .372 , i learned from internet that this build has battery draining issues. ( i never faced any )
after updating to .376. , the phone is as steady stable as my other xperias (btw z5p is my 6th xperia )
now there is however a catch.
1. if you updated on OTA , this means the update of 1.2gb via ota only replaced certain files from .305 to make it .372 build (android 6 to 7) --- such OTA updates USUALLY ends up having problems (in general) with battery draining issues. Such problems i personally faced during updating from honeycomb to ics. - in short whenever update is available; always install FRESH
2. if your bootloader is locked then use xperia companion to install fresh after wiping all data. (makebackups)
3. if your phone is not rooted then try disabling all un necessary apps under Apps section.
----
Trivia
You cannot compare Z5p with predecessors like Z3/Z2/Z1 and Z since
1. they were always smaller in screen size / resolution and were not 4k
2. They stops at Android 5 / 6 as their last builds and battery life was awesome w.r.t consumption

however some of friends on XDA agrees that .305 (android 6.0.1) (came out dec2016) is the BEST build ever for z5p. addressed all battery issues and it was the final build for z5p on android 6.0.1
even i am thinking to degrade my phone due to ram consumption of N is very high!
this is why xzp has 4gb ram!
I need to know. If I updated my phone to .376 and it's having this lack of battery life, DO I HAVE TO SELL IT OR DISPOSE OF IT BECAUSE IT'S LITERALLY A LOST CAUSE NOW? (P.S. I immediately did a factory reset after the Nougat install completed.)
Because apparently if you updated to this build, then returned to the last Marshmallow build, THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED, and reloading nougat will only make things worse. And if you updated to .378, it not only does this not get fixed, it breaks your headphone jack to boot.
Please help. I am freaking out about this battery life. I lost 60 PERCENT IN 6 HOURS OF BASICALLY PODCASTS. ?

Well, after all my trials I flashed MM back and everything is back to normal. The issue is with 7 so not sure what happened to your handset
EDIT: Re-upgraded once again= battery 8 hour life. Go into About Phone, Status and disable battery optimization. The handset reboots and incredibly this morning it was like the old days .

Maybe I'll try that. The best I was able to do was 21 hours with one bar LTE, 6 hour's sleep, and 3h40m screen on time with several hour's worth of Pocket Casts.
i confirm that on build .33 i lost my battery even on stamina mode one percent every 10 minuets over using wifi , it just keeps the battery when device is screen off -_- its horrible i didnt have this kind of problem with .253 and im wondering revert back to MM
From last few days i have been noticing this weird system icon with a negative sign eating up my battery. My phone used to give a decent battey life with SOT og nearly 6-7 hours. Now its down to 3-4 hours
I am using Oneplus 7T
Oxygen OS 10.3.1
Did you use mobile hotspot during this period?
Yes @123cyborg . I did
Sorry reposted
Yeah... Its probably that..I get the same on my battery stats when I use hotspot
-5 = hotspot
Probably, in future updates OnePlus will fix it and assign a name to that PID
