Hi Guys,
Does anybody had an issue of internet data disconnecting during a call?
After ending the call internet is connecting again...
Any ideas?
Isn't it how it's supposed to be? My data connection always disconnects during call, regardless of the ROM...
Logical if you think about it but I can't confirm whether it happens as I've never noticed or looked.

I've had this on every ROM I've used. Its normal behaviour AFAIK.

I'm not sure whether this is correct, it is possible to stream a youtube video during a call... So the mobile Internet connection is on also during a call.
For some reason, currently the data connection remains on during a call, i'm not sure what was causing it to disconnect before.
THIS may explain the problem you describe. Again, that is pretty normal.

Just never seen this before on any other rom, perhaps that was related to the fact that at that time i was traveling in another area by car, maybe somehow related to network coverage...
Will keep tracking
Has anyone got to solve this problem? using irc it interferes with the disconnects and join all the time.
solved by imposing to the Internet using "3G ONLY"

My Wifi keeps on dropping. It's very frustrating.
Anybody has this issue?

Yes, me too. If you have root you can easily fix it by editing a wifi-configfile:
/etc/firmware/wlan/prima/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini
Apply the following changes:
ConnectivityThresholdDBM=-100
gEnableBmps=0
Your wifi signal should be stronger now and it shouldn't drop anymore.
Found that in the Z forum, also works for Zl.
Don't forget to back up!
....and as usual: i can not be made responsible if you brick...blablabla....

Thank the guy in Z forum, I just copied it from there.
I got my Xperia ZL 6502 about a week ago and I am having simialr issues with wifi. In addition to loosing wifi connection every now and then, the phone's wifi connection is also messing up connection of the wireless router with other connected devices in the house. I found people having similar issues on sony support forums. Seems the phone has compatibility issues with Netgear make of routers. I had absolutely no issues when I connected to a different router.
Did anybody here notice the same issue with your ZLs and did the configfile editing also got rid of the router disconnecting from other devices problem?
WiFi issue still existing after JB upgrade?!
WiFi issue still existing after JB upgrade?!
Hi All,
I've a question. Do you has already an issue with your WiFi after upgrade to JB 4.2.2.?
I guess it is so or it feels so.
BTW: How can I root my XZL to verify the WiFi parameter?!
BR

I'm having the same problem. It can't connect to any network. I also upgraded my firmware but the problem still exists.
Interesting - I'll have to check out these settings later.
I had issues with being able to connect to an 802.1x secured wireless network... I basically reset my wifi settings figuring something was corrupted (I removed most of the files in /data/misc/wifi... I'd previously been told that these files would be re-created if you removed them...)
If you decide to remove these files yourself... make a backup...

Hi all,
Not been around for a long time so its great to be back
Recently got the Z1C on Contact, frankly its the biggest regret I've had with a mobile device.
Is anyone else having WiFi speeds slower than dial up?
My download speed is < 250 KB's
Any1 else had this? If so does any1 know a fix?
Thanks
I don't have that, neither on 2,4GHz nor on 5GHz. You could try the unofficial DooMLord kernel, it mentions "custom built wifi wlan modules", dunno if that helps.

I'm not currently looking to Root/Unlock/Flash anything.
I'd just like my Stock Z1C to actually work with WiFi.
Its not exactly difficult, its seriously annoying me now, why is it so slow?

but anyway, have you tried to close all apps on your phone?

my wifi works great too .. what rom do you use? latest .757 ? download .761 or 757 FTF and try to flash via flashtool .. No need to unlock bootloader or root, but you will lose some data if you don`t make any backup
you have a software problem there ..

I'll check it out when I get home but I never have Bluetooth on so I'd be surprised if it was that.
I have a gaming router which is extremely powerful and all other devices/phones work perfectly so I know that the Z1C is the bottleneck.
Any other ideas if its not the bluetooth?
Thanks
I've not had any issues with WiFi or BT, which is always on on my phone. I do use 5GHz for WiFi.

Have you tried restarting your router?
Does it go slow with every wifi? can you test it on different wifi and see if the problem is with one type of router?
Don't think I've seen anyone ekse with this problem, although flashing the .757 update messed up my bluetooth (then .761 fixed it).

Thanks for getting back to me
I have tested it on my work WiFi, I don't know whether it is coincedence, sod's law or normal but the WiFi on my Z1C at my work is absolutely rapid!!
I've just updated an app to test it, and it was at around 5MB's which is brilliant for me !
However, work WiFi is a 100MB's connection speed, where as at home I believe its around the 12MB's mark (geographic limitations in place here >.<).
From this I see only a couple of conclusions:
1 - Z1C and my home router just don't get along.
2 - As the WiFi speed is so much higher at work, so is the Z1C
or that theres no relation between the WiFi speed and my device but there is an issue with the Z1C WiFi itself?
I'm presuming its the first?
Thanks again!

Hi there,
I'm still on totally stock ROM.
I've done some testing and I believe it is on every router/internet but is very inconsistent. Sometimes its very speedy, others it will drop to almost unusable speeds.
I think I'ma just get rid of this terrible device, very disappointed in Sony. Here are some of my issues:
Phantom Touches
Unresponsive Touch Screen
Constant Crashes
Phone CONSTANTLY answers in Loudspeaker
Screen will not wake up
WiFi Speeds Totally Unusable

Just update to 14.4.A.0.108. It's also stock, official. You do not loose data while updating and it takes merely 10 minutes of "sitting back and relaxing"
As for wifi issue, did you try disabling wifi optimization fetaure found in advanced settings?

Have to be honest,
I got that fedup with all the issues on the phone, I sold it and bought an iPhone.
(Waits to be shot).
However I must say, iPhones feel very nice nowadays, nice and snappy etc.
But yeah, I'll still be hanging around these forums helping people out etc,

Hey that's a new phone just so you know because this is not acceptable.
Not sure about reclaims in your country but it should be valid in most?
Mine did about the same as my PC/PS4 = 60-95MBps, that is until yesterday
Both bluetooth and wifi are stone cold dead so I though I should reflash my ROM(Aur) and rushed it when I realized whilst doing the same 'ol start guide for the hundreds time I forgot to flash recovery :victory::fingers-crossed:

Got rid of my Z1C, and got an iPhone (SHOOT ME NOW).

My G4 only starting to act retarded about a week ago. It refuses to connect to any network. It gets hung up on obtaining IP address and then just disables wifi and starts this loop again. I have no idea how to fix this, there are no network settings under developer settings (**** you VZW) and I'm lost.
Can someone help?

I've had this problem a few times. It has magically "fixed itself" but then come back some time later. It has been ok for a while now (touch wood). A couple of things worth checking:
1) Have you tried rebooting in safe mode to see if it still happens? When it was in the broken state, mine would still connect to WiFi when rebooted in safe mode. Conventional wisdom suggests that this means it's an app that is causing this problem but I'm not so sure.
2) Do you have Bluetooth turned on? When mine was in the broken state, it would connect to WiFi when Bluetooth was turned off, suggesting some kind of strange interaction between the two.
3) Are you connecting to a 5Ghz network or a 2.4Ghz one? Mine only exhibited the problem when trying to connect to 2.4Ghz networks.
Here is the XDA thread I started about this issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/strange-bluetooth-wifi-interaction-mm-t3279623

Hi,
I'm with the A50 for 3 weeks now. In the last couple of weeks I have a very annoying problem. A few times a day (sometimes 5-6) the phone disconnects from the wifi network and turns off the Bluetooth with no apparent reason.
When this happens the Bluetooth is actually turned off (not just disconnects). When I try to reconnect to a wifi network, I cannot (no response from the phone, although it does recognize available networks) and also the Bluetooth cannot be turned on at all.
The only way out of this is to switch to flight mode and back. That resolves it and everything goes back to normal. Then it can happen again in a few minutes or a few hours.
Anyone have an idea what's going on before I throw this phone away?
I thought I'm the only one facing these issues (in my case its not as frequent but its there). I also noticed that when changing EAP settings in certain wifi coneections, the settings app just force closes. Contacted customer support and they recommended doing a factory reset!
There is a big problem on this part of the smartphone, I encounter a problem with bluetooth and the wifi tends to cut also by now, but it returns to normal without going through the airplane mode for me.
I do not know if it's a hardware or software problem, but I think I'll return the smartphone to Amazon and go back to my S7 Edge

Can also confirm. Finished a factory reset now and I still face the same issue with the FC on changing EAP setings. Wifi keeps dropping. Unfortunately mine was bought from mediamarkt about 8 weeks ago. I'll contact the customer support again and see what they recommend.
I have similar problems with BT connected Samsung Galaxy Watch.
What I observed: when I switch off 2.4 wifi ( or "forget" all known networks so the phone does not connect ) then BT connection with watch works perfectly.
Strangely enough when I am connected to 5 GHz wifi BT seems to work OK.
So in my case: BT and 2.4 GHz wifi running together causes problems
As I saw in May update Samsung declares fix for wifi performance.
Let's see what happens
I don't know about bluetooth issue but I do have wifi issue, sometimes the wifi is not working so I have to turn it off and on again to fix it

Strange issue with Wi-FI and Night Mode
Hi there,
I'm on the latest May '19 update with my A50 (A505FN) and just discovered a very strange issue: when Night Mode is enabled, I can't change advanced settings on WiFi connection, or the Settings app will crash as soon as I tap on the "IP Type" or "Proxy" option.
If I disable Night mode, then everything works fine and I can successfully change the above settings.
Think this is a SW bug...
Did someone experience the same behaviour?
Thanks in advance,
Max - Italy
