I don't think you can disable it on the stock rom. You can disable it on the Viper10 roms via Venom Tweaks. LeeDroid too I believe.

You can silence notifications, if you long hold the notification and go to more setting, if gives you the option to silence notifications from that app, boomsound is linked to android system.

yepp, but we have seperate option for that, so just the actual boomsound notification is hidden, not all of "Android System".
Because if you use that function, it ill hide all of them...e.g. usb debugging and more

Yeah I remember that from using your ROM on my M8, that's why I was asking what else it will stop showing if I silence it.

Ringtone volume starts low

Guys
I've searched about this issue and couldn't find a proper answer. My note 2's ringtone starts low and ascends. It seems it's a feature with all galaxy phones. Is there any way to disable it ? (preferably without rooting)
Yes there are ways to disable it (such as using Xposed framework). And yes these ways require root access. If there is a way to disable this without root, I'd like to be corrected, but AFAIK there isn't.
Search in the play store for ;
"Disable Increasing Ring" from Shumoapp

No root = no android system mods
This is a simple equation, if you want to override this ascending ring tone feature you should be a root user

It worked but the problem is it gives me an invisible icon on status bar all the time which there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it

I know ,i'm new to android and still learning
Just wanted to know if it's possible via root or not
That's very interesting. Didn't know that there is an app that doesn't require root access to achieve this.

Try this. Go to Settings > Application Manager > Scroll down until you find the app then click on it and Untick "Show Notifications". If that doesn't work then the app requires to be present in the notification bar in order not to be killed by the system.

[Q] Hide ongoing notifications

I'm using DARTHSTALKER ROM. I uncheck the box: show notification on the app, but when I reboot, the notification appears. How can I hide them?

I had this issue to... I just check the notification box i app manager and then unchecked it again. Only way I found. Then again I never really looked into that much since it wasn't a big inconvenience.
Use the notify clean module in xposed, it will have your notification issues.

lockscreen notification for select apps

Is there a way I can choose which notification shows up on the lockscreen? Specifically I want to have only one app show notification on the lockscreen, but not others. In order to do that I have to disable notifications of all other apps. But I want other apps to show notification in the notification bar, just not on the lock screen. Any way to do this?

On nougat, theoretically yes. Go to settings -> notifications. Then click the settings gear at the top. Should give lock screen notification options of all, hide sensitive content, hide all.
I think you can hide all here, then go to the individual app you want to show, and change it to show for that specific app.
Never tried this myself. Ymmv.

Once I choose "don't show at all" under settings - notification, I cannot enable notification on the lockscreen for specific app. However doing the exact opposite might do the trick. Under settings - notification, I choose "show all contents", then for specific app, I can choose "don't show" on the lock screen. This is very tedious, but it might do what I want my phone to do...

Once you clicked don't show notification at all, click on a app or game that you want to display the notification in lockscreen.
Then click "On the lockscreen" then "show all notification content".
Hope this helps you.

Reminders set through Google Assistant not working

If I set a reminder through Google Assistant or manually set a reminder through Google calendar, I never get any notification when they time comes. I've had this problem for a few months now and can't figure out what the fix is. Anyone else have this problem and able to fix it?
Experiencing the same issue since MIUI 10. Went back to MIUI 9. Raised a bug with Xiaomi. Still no reply from them. Started a discussion in MIUI forum but no reply. Guess this bug is here to stay for quite sometime.
I had to enable Autostart for Google Calendar to get reminders. It allows the program to run its background processes and give the notifications.

The settings have changed in MIUI 10. That's the reason users are getting confused. Xiaomi should have mentioned it in the first place. Follow these steps to enable sound for notification of any app:
Settings > Installed Apps > [APP] > Notifications > [APP] notifications > Toggle Sound On
These settings may vary for other apps. But the general idea is to toggle sound on for that particular app notification. Hope this helps!

Thanks for this suggestion. I tried it and it's still not working for me.
Few accounts
I had similar issue, I have multipple google accouns. I found out that when I save reminders (both calendar and keep) under one of them then it would not work. But it works under another one. Still not sure why it doesn't on the first one though.
