Hi guys,
I present you something I work on - stock cameraUI with some modifications.
Currently:
-Added 4K & 120 fps video recording without the need of timeshift & 4k apps
-Changed video encoder to H.265 (supported from Android 7, better efficiency than the default h.264)
-video bitrate increase
-allowed to choose scenes with every resolution

Limitations: (READ)
works only on android 7+ (encoder)
more than 120fps is impossible(driver)
4k video seems to be not recording(at least for me), I will remove this option if it's not working for everybody
Installation:
1.You need root
2.Backup your /system/priv-app/SemcCameraUI-**** folder
3.Delete files and folders inside SemcCameraUI-**** folder
4.Place my apk in the SemcCameraUI-**** folder
5.Make sure apk name is the same as folder name!
6.Restart device
What do you like to see changed in the camera?

Android 7 supports new encoding - H.265. Switched encoding from h.264 to h.265 - slight more cpu load but better compression.

hmm somehow the cam app is gone, even when I put the original apk back it stays gone... going to reflash rom and retry
even after reflashing rom camera app is not working any more. Every other app(sony & third party) which uses the cam is working fine
@tanago any idea how to get the camera app working again?

both, but restored an older backup and now everthing is working again. I gues the camera app stores some settings or cache on the data partition
I think I have the same problem with kistigun, when I put your apk and reboot the camera app simply disappears , and I can't get it to appear with the backup either, need to reflash, will also wipe since there is nothing in the phone anyways
never had such problem, dont know how to reproduce it to resolve it..

irrelevent question, for some reason after doing the DRM fix my camera is way worse than without the DRM fix (without keys, without X-reality), by saying worse the noise is too much
Can you extend exposure in manual mode over 1sec?
can you give some information and details about how you switched to h265 and what is required to see if the phone supports it? i'm using a redmi note 3 and since it's using the same chip, i'm interested to try on my phone if it's possible, using the stock cm camera of course not sony's cam.

You must check where the app sets the CamcorderProfile and set it's 'codec' property to 5 (integer)

Hmm? It has always supported the One X.. I've had it installed for a month already -_- Bypasses compression, but not dropped frames. Still as bad as stock cam.

only a few days ago then it started to officially support the one x.
Nice, just installed the Pro version, photo's uncompressed, you'll get a file size of 4,5mb, instead of the 1,5 of htc, better quality
you can record movies in 3gp and mp4.. I've set it to mp4, because that runs better on the One X
also the bitrate to 30mbps, instead of the 7 you get from stock htc camera
stereo quaility record on 320kbps and 48hz
218mb for 1min mp4 movie, hmm haha
maybe I should try 20mbps bitrate

Same happens to me when I try to activate the stabilisation in the camcorder.
Great camera app, I'm playing with it at the moment trying all options and buttons.
Recording in mpeg4 with video bitrate of 100Mbit and video framerate 30 plus resolution 1920x1088. (5 seconds video is 16,9mb)
Switching between picture and camcorder works fine for me and also stabilisation I've enabled, no freeze.
I still use the free version.
I can switch between picture and camcorder without problems.
Also stabilisation I have enabled.
Edit; the camcorder is very very nice, without it the camcorder is great as well but if the zoom would work fluent it would be a kick ass camcorder!
Edit 2; the zoom does work fluent! You can zoom in and out with the volume button WOW !!!!
Last edit; the zoom isn't fluent but I can live with that (hopefully it can be fixed in futher development), bought the pro version.

On my stock HOX the free version of lgCamera hangs whenever I go to video-recording mode forcing me to click the menu button to exit the app. It also, somehow, manages to shut down the camera service making even the stock HTC camera to malfunction!
So far the latest Camera ICS (free version) has managed to work flawlessly with my device, making incredible videos that are almost 500mb in size for a 2min clip, but remains on the 24 frames all the time. Videos do look smooth though.
What I want to know is if someone using lgCamera has managed to bypass the stock framerate limit of 24fps? And what are the results?
I'm on a no rooted stock HOX as well, latest 1.29.401.11
Weird but all does function fine for me, no freeze nothing.
I've set the frame rate at 30 but how can I check if it's real 30?
Edit; your right, last video does 21 frames per second.
Edit; my apologies I just realise by reading your post a second time that you do not have any problems on latest version as well.

Hi again,
I've just had a very fast reply by email from the developer of lgCamera.
He told me that previous version 6.25 did hang sometimes but latest version 6.3 is checked on all mode and shouldn't.

exactly the same issue with paid app, latest version.
it's the only app so far that managed to **** up the stock camera, needed a reboot to get it working again
i also have wrong aspect ratio in the viewfinder after pressing record, when shooting video, but the recorded material is fine....
So far Camera ICS+ is superior, even with 24fps.

Yes I downloaded the latest free version from the market. I downloaded by other means the old pro 1.25 version and it works flawlessly, it manages 30fps while recording from a moving vehicle! Strange, right?
You can check the framerate and other properties of your videos by opening those files with MX Player.
So, does the newest version lgCamera in your case, create videos with a higher bitrate than the stock camera?

Well almost all custom roms ( resurrection remix, cm 14.1, los) lacked proper moto camera ( usually force closes while taking video or slow motion videos ). Well after quite a bit of surfing I found a flashable motocamera zip file. Flash it using twrp and voila the stock camera is here free of crashing:victory:

Motorola Camera working, you need to be on lower(stock) DPI value, that works.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Well mostly everyone uses stock DPI, so i guess it wont be that a problem. Well, Something is better than nothing right ?

Not everyone uses stock DPI, look at the screenshots around here. The moto camera from play store works flawlessly with stock DPI as already discussed some months ago.

In Stock rom you have already Motorola camera, so no need to change the dpi to get it working

might be just me but the moto camera from play store always crashed when i started recording anything even at stock dpi in every custom rom i used ( cm14.1, rr and los )

yeah motorola camera worked just fine but it lacked slow motion video recording and other focus options which is present in moto camera. that is why i provided the link
Moto camera video recording and slow motion video recording is not working in RR. But Motorola camera's video recording is working and in slow motion video it records it but play as normal video and not slow motion.
Please say how to fix this

my moto camera worked just fine in rr. Try reflashing it, clear the cache and try updating the moto camera via playstore. Motorola camera supports slow motion recording ?
I'm running the latest RR and flashed this today. Regular video recording works but slow motion recording option is greyed out and so is the storage location option. I've tried clearing both cache and data and updating from the play store with no luck.

I guess you flashed the Moto Camera zip from recovery (possibly wiping cache/data as well?) then updated the app through Google Play when you booted back in?
Probably check you're opening the right one (should be com.motorola.cameraone) and is version 6.0.43.10. Video recording and slow motion capture both appear to work for me on an XT1642 (G4 Plus) running RR v 5.8 from Silesh.
The only issue I've found is after a burst shot, trying to delete the photo burst doesn't appear to work within the camera app, I switched to Google Photos and could delete them from there.
EDIT - appears that Google Photos doesn't like linking to the burst shots from within the camera app, but the Gallery app shows them just fine and can scroll/delete them, odd...
I tried flashing the Moto camera zip file again. But it didn’t work. When I open the app, it shows the below mentioned page, but am not able to click "Next" option. On clicking back, it exits the app.

After updating the App from Playstore : 6.0.43.10

U have just decompiled the apk with apk editor fiddled a bit and recompiled it... I don't see any difference from the original one

Yeah i am not a developer i was just wondering whether the op5 camera will work on our device then i noticed that slo mo is working with 120 fps on our moto g4 plus that's it.
And flashlight works on lineage bcz flashlight is fixed in los but not on invicta 5.0 coz flashlight works only with third party apps

No the ROM itself doesn't have api files for codes to work, example: for nougat we have an patch made by z2+ devs only for zui nougat, same like that try to get patch for zui Oreo rom

° Doesn't work Night Shot

The first of the latters saves the picture but crashes the app.
The second crashes directly the app.
It would be nice to have this app working on custom ROM especially on Android 9.

the answer of the question depends on individual as how the person looks at their photo quality , i would refer gcam.

There must be a reason. If I was you I wouldn't count only on GCam. An update can disable it.
Since gauguin now has LOS 17.1 alpha and mi-globe currently the lack of a good working GCam is holding me back to seek to buy this one - and a little the imanent release of Redmi Note 10 Pro, which should have the same Snapdragon 750G and maybe Radio support.

Well, you won't be able to install it unless you are on MiUI. If you still want to download it go to APKMirror

May I ask about the GCam version and if 4k 30fps still has good EIS support?
Try this gcam mod - gave it a quick test and all basic functions seem to work
Video will record in 60fps without 4k option selected
30fps with 4k option selected - if you try 60fps the app will close and you need to clear data of app to use video again

There is no Fix for Mi 10T Lite to run 64 MP, it's only 16MP, so I'm wondering on what ROM did you check that it supposedly works?

If it's the apk I believe it is, go to settings -> Advanced -> Auxilary camera and enable them. Then the selector appears like on the stock app.

Anyone has a clue why the tele lense could be blurry? I tried different Global/EEA rom vendor images (12.0.1, .2, .5) with different custom roms and GCAM versions. All with the same issue.
