I just installed 13B Firmware, and rooted my phone. I enabled OEM Unlock. I tried Nova Launcher to change property to T-mobile but the check property screen keeps showing VZW. I get a message that its a non-verizon sim card also. I am trying to use T-mobile on VS986, is there something else i need to do? IT doesnt connect to tower or anything

Thought I would start a central thread for APN settings as I have been noticing everyone wanting to swap SIMs and roam other carriers but forgetting they need the proper APN or they will get bubkus for data.

cool, thx keenz!! will add them too!
Not sure if I'm out of line by asking here, but do you only need to add APNs when you are using an unlocked phone on various carriers?
APN Name
Does the Name matter? My phone (on Bell Mobility) defaulted to all the correct information except for the name. Will this affect my LTE connectivity if I don't have "LTE" in the name?

Before, when I used the APNs from above (split) I couldn't MMS or get Visual Voicemail texts, now I can do both. Hope this helps.
The suggestion is that , put these APN settings into /system/etc/apns-conf.xml
, would be more convenient if u have two different SIM cards...

Does anyone if an HSPA+ and MMS apn possible on stock GB??
@lionman229, erm, absolutely yes? Which network are you having trouble with?
AT&T It always goes back to LTE no matter what I do. It wont let me delete the default apn either if that helps you figure it out
You shouldn't disable LTE using a different APN (I mean, you can, I think, by using a Cingular APN or something, but you don't need to). There's a key combo you put into your phone dialer (that I don't know off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone here can help you with) that will allow you to disable LTE and choose GSM/WCDMA if I remember correctly.
After scouring the internet I found the code *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone info then select radio bands. All the guides said this will force close (happened to me too) but then the guides said that if you go back to phone info there will be a way to select the radio band..... but that step never works for me. Any ideas?
Is there any other way to select the proper radio band? Will going to CM9 from stock help at all?

This is a problem that has plagued me since day 1 when I got my N1, persisted through my Nexus S, and now with my Galaxy Nexus and I have vowed to fix this...
Whenever I receive a MMS message regardless of the sender's carrier, the message comes in and says "Subject: no subject" before the picture is displayed. Small, trivial, issue yes, but I can not for the life of me get rid of it and have tried nearly every possible APN setting from Googling alternate options. I have also tried using replacement messaging apps and all have the same result. My current APN settings are:

Will give it a shot. Tested immediately after changing the setting and still received the "Subject: no subject", but I will give it some time to update and report back.
Some time later and still experiencing the "Subject: no subject" message...
Just chatted with T-Mobile online and was told the following:
_Braxton M: That is definitely strange. I believe this may just be something with T-Mobiles services.
Me: How can I go about fixing this?
_Braxton M: This is something that unfortunately cannot be fixed. This is a standard function of T-Mobile devices.
Me: So you're saying that ALL t-mobile devices when receiving MMS messages will display "Subject: no subject" when the sender hasn't specified a subject field?
_Braxton M: Yes, that is correct. I myself experience this daily.

I'm experiencing the same issue and while its a small issue, its annoying.
Has anyone been able to figure out how to suppress the Subject: No Subject message during MMS?
Is not everyone experiencing this when a subject is not specified?
iOS has a setting where you can turn it off, I'm surprised Android does not have this functionality or does not just omit the subject when the sender does not set one.
I'm on o2 (UK) payg and i have tried looking everywhere for correct settings.
With my current settings, i get mobile internet but no MMS.

Thanks for your help! epc.tmobile.com is for phones with no LTE support. I did try it and it didn't work. However, I did get the problem resolved by calling Tmobile support. They resend activation codes to my phone MMS.
I have a SM-G960U1 Unlocked Version and I'm using a T-Mobile sim card. Everything is working but the Internet part of the phone. What can be the problem?
Go to settings, Connections, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names, and click ADD at the top. Then enter these settings,
Name: T-Mobile
APN: Fast.t-mobile.com
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

MNC: 260

APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6 or IPv4 only when roaming internationally
Turn APN on/off: Grayed out unless there are multiple APNs

Now click the 3 dot menu and save. Make sure the new APN is selected and it should work. You may have to reboot.
