Hi, like the title says, is it possible to flash back to stock without a PC/Odin using something like Flashfire?
I currently have TWRP and AICP installed if that helps
Thanks

Flashfire should work(flashing stock rom is what it does). Just spend the time to read before you use it to avoid any problems...
I'm a little confused here, can I downgrade back to stock 4.4.4 from aicp 6.0.1im reading places that its not possible.
Need some clarity here
Thanks

I'm not sure which device you have, but I have i9195 and the latest stock rom is 4.4.2
And yes, you can downgrade to 4.4.2 using odin and the stock.tar.md5 file from any custom rom including 6.0 or even 7.1. I'm assuming you can use Flashfire to achieve the same thing as it is supposed to work the same way for those without a pc. I've always used odin though.
I have the i9195 too , and yes don't have access to use Odin, so I was wondering is it safe to do this with flashfire? Will it remove recovery also?
I won't be able to debrick if something goes wrong so need to get it right first time.
Oh and I didn't know 4.4.2 is latest, what's the best place to download it?

Well, flashfire is developed by the very well respected Senior Recognized Developer - Chainfire, so it is safe, but as I said, do your homework before using it. Flashing stock rom will replace any custom recovery with the stock recovery.
You can download the stock rom from a number of sites. I normally use sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com, but there are others. Just google it.....

You can load a custom recovery in Odin and flash a custom ROM.

Annoying, but not that hard to fix. You have two or three choices. If you made a backup, you can restore that from recovery mode.
You could go to download mode and flash a stock ROM onto the phone, then root it again.
Or you can go with a custom ROM as the poster above suggested. You generally need a custom recovery for that, so you'd go to download mode and install a custom recovery first. Followed by the custom ROM. If the custom ROM is a tar file, you'd also flash that with Odin in download mode. If it is a flashable zip file then the custom ROM would be flashed after you boot to the custom recovery mode first.
If flashing a stock image, ensure that it is a version 4.3 AT&T image. Trying to flash an earlier version will do bad things to your phone.

As far as I know, there is no stock 4.3 AT&T image available because one was never released by AT&T. However, I think there may be some 4.3 based ROMs that can be flashed.
Mobile Odin can also be used to flash an image since mobile Odin does not flash a bootloader or modem.

It can be painful to be an AT&T customer at times. If a full factory 4.3 ROM wasn't released, the OP could still flash a properly formatted backup of someone's stock AT&T 4.3. But it would of course be easier to adopt a custom ROM as you suggested. One choice would be S3Rx 3.0.
.
Thanks for the help. However I tried to flash several 4.3 stock based roms and got nothing. I had an older s3 with a busted screen so I took the mother board out and put in this. I then flashed twrp and rooted. Im on the ota 4.3 and would really like a custom rom. Im currently on the hunt.

You didn't give us nearly enough details to really know what you tried, let alone why it might have failed. AT&T is much more restrictive than most carriers and is locking their bootloader, so you have to be careful not to flash someone else's bootloader or a pre 4.3 version.
But since you have a rooted phone again.. installing a custom ROM wouldn't be hard to do.. I gave you a link to decent custom ROM that would work for you. Or you can browse other custom ROMs if you prefer. There are detailed instructions in the thread to guide you. Basically confirm that you have one of the listed AT&T bootloaders and modems, download the custom ROM to your phone, boot to twrp, do a "factory wipe", then install the custom ROM (flashable zip file) from the twrp install menu.
.
Try Philz Touch recovery instead of TWRP. If it doesn't work with Philz, let us know the error messages you're getting.

You can't find custom rooms cause you're blind or can't read. Backup out of the Q&A forum to the s3 page with all the forum listing then click on the forum that says AT&T galaxy s3 development. If you can't find one there you need to stop trying...

I have had better luck flashing ROMs with CWM than TWRP.
There are lots of ROMs here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development
Couldmyou point me in the direction to switch over. I have read alot on that same issue

Download Philz Touch zip from here and flash in TWRP. Reboot into recovery and you should have CWM installed.

Sammobile.com has the stock images don"t they? Thats where i got my Fido factory image.

Yes I have cwm and titanium back pro, busy box pro, and a few other goodies. So I made me a backup and flashed 4.4.2. I'm playing with it now. It seems really solid and way better customizations. I'm about to head over and give the developers thanks. Thank you as well for your advice.

I've been searching and reading for last couple days and haven't been able to find a definite answer. I'm using note 2 i317 at&t with stock 4.3 out of the box. I've been able to root it and get past Knox successfully. My question is can I install a custom recovery using stock 4.3? I'm wanting to use xposed framework and I want to be able to make a backup and have recovery optons. I've heard it may not be possible on 4.3 due to possible locked bootloader and the Knox thing. Any help is appreciated.
Just flash your custom recovery using Odin...
The Knox bootloader is generation #1...and does not prevent the flashing of custom recoveries or kernel images. .
Edit:...custom recoveries will trip the Knox counter...and void the device warranty. ..
Once you have a custom recovery. ..you can create your full nandroid backup...
Then you'll be able to do anything you want with roms etc....g

Not exactly. ..
Once you root...or flash a custom recovery. ..you will trip the Knox counter...(bootloader flag)
Effectively. ..that will void warranty...
However. ..This flag will not effect using your nandroid backup to restore the device if you should need it... (store that backup on your PC for safety)...
But if you don't care about warranty. ..then a revert to stock 4.3 is quite easy...minus the tripped bootloader flag....g

Dont you need to change to read/write?
I have one more question on the 4.3 boot loader thing. Am I able to flash Roms that are based on an earlier android version like 4.2.2 since I am on official 4.3 boot loader? I was looking at flashing a ported miui v5 ROM but I'm pretty sure its 4.2 based.

Sry if I seem like I'm thread jacking but just wanted to clarify something. So with the AT&T note 2 on the stock ota 4.3 we can still install a custom recovery and flash custom roms and kernels or does it have to be 4.3 touchwiz based roms? If so can someone tell me the steps to do so?
The only reason I'm asking is I have both an att not 2 and a Verizon both on 4.3 and with the Verizon note 2 I had to use safestrap to flash a custom rom but can't flash kernels (so I'm not really new to flashing and all but new to the att scene and wanted to make sure bc I was told that with a locked bootloader I couldn't flash roms and a custom recovery and don't want to break my phone)
Thanks (also I only had an att note 2 is so I can get 4g lte on straight talk but I like having the note 3 features)
Again thanks for the help as of right now my att note 2 is a paper weight and if I can flash any custom rom on stock 4.3 it'd be great bc at least I wouldn't have wasted my money haha

I have the att note 2 and it came with stock 4.3 and I'm now running ezkat 4.4.2 with agni kernel. So yes you can run roms and kernels. Only thing I'm not 100% sure on is if you can downgrade to 4.2 or 4.1. Here is the link to the room I'm running. It's great and has a lot of note 3 features and some s5 features.

I just used Odin and flashed phils cwm file. You can get it in either a flashable zip or and Odin flashable file. The bootloader not really locked from what I understand it just won't let you replace it with an earlier version. Basically no problems flashing roms and kernels and such. You just have to kill the Knox security deal with super su

Why not just factory reset? Probably the easiest way if you just want stock.
Hi All,
I have S3 T999v – Wind variant running on stock 4.4.2 , overall I hate this kitkat experience...
My issue is whenever I try to flash custom recovery TWRP (2.7.1.0 or older), it installs but when I try to take backup it shows nothing to take backup of (no System , no EFS etc....). When I try rebooting it gives error “NO OS Found” I am able to proceed anyways and it starts up phone fine.
Can anyone tell me what could be the issue here??? I wanna downgarde to either stock 4.3 or to install custom liquid smooth 4.4.4. but would prefer to take a back up just in case.
BTW my phone is rooted , rooted it with towel root.
Also can I flash T999 (t-mobile) based recoveries onto my T999v ?
Would appreciate your help :good:.
Thanks
I recommend using d2tmo recoveries over d2can. More roms will be flashable. And you can use any rom here in our forums.
For now, try using either cwm or philz recovery. Youre experiencing a known issue that I believe is related to the hardware revision. I keep hoping to attempt a fix, but just havent had time yet. But for now, one of the other recoveries should work for you.

Or install any rom throught twrp for the 920p. Touchscreen should be working on the twrp. (Mine was working.)

Thanks for the info. Yeah I ended up finding the stock marshmallow firmware and flashing it in twrp. Issue resolved.
