What is XOSP and how was it born?
XOSP stands for the Xperia Open Source Project. The project was initially created by me @nilac) for the Galaxy S+ (my old device) years ago. Back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there I rebranded and XOSP project was founded. I worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on my Galaxy S+ (Which I maintained xosp for at the time) I decided to take a break from development until I got my hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then I started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
What Represents a Release and what represents a Revision?
Revisions include small changes such as bug fixes/improvments etc.. (Usually there are made like 3 revisions per-release).
Releases are the main "stable" builds with all new planned features implemented and bugs fixed.

Just installed ... will report back after a few hours with thoughts. I will say that early on this feels snappier than the other Nougat ROMs I have tried.
This ROM is really smooth and battery is holding up better than other nougat roms. :victory:
Glad to hear your liking it!

Oh Mann DarkExistence ....I wish there would be more than one thanks buttons down here...Wooow !!! Thank you so much .ROM is awesome ...Battery is lot better than its MM version. Great work ...Thank you so much..you got my respect for such an awesome work ....I'm too happy to see this ..:good:
So which XOSPApps should i flash?
Sent from my ONE E1003 using Tapatalk
My battery life isnt the greatest what are you guys doing to keep it balanced?
Here are my initial thoughts:
Snappier than other Nougat ROMs, although i do still get some browser lagging (Chrome, Puffin, doesn't seem to matter ... scrolling gets choppy and clicking a link sometimes takes a second or two before it recognizes the click and starts to load the next page). Bluetooth streaming is borked for me, the sound gets choppy, then gets distorted either sped up or slowed down. Omni had the same issue, Lineage did not.
Battery life seems on par with other N ROMs, standby drain may be a bit better, but I'm still expecting around 2.5 SOT.
Haven't tested NFC (and thus Android Pay) or GPS thoroughly.
So I'm assuming because this is using Lineage OS as it's BASE then all bugs of the Lineage OS 14.1 will be inherited?
Update: So trying it now. Bluetooth seems to be stable. No glitch outs or anything. Looks like Viper or some sort of EQ was part of it but not anymore?
Smooth for the most part.. little lag here or there but nothing that will be a show stopper. Will keep trying it out and see.
Magisk root and SN worked for me FYI.
Found something: Live wallpaper isn't work. App not found is the error
Looked i dont see the "Live data wallpapers" apk anywhere.
Im still here. Just no need to update the rom yet. Nothing has changed. Waiting for feb patch to be merged before a new build is made most likely next wednesday

you just don't ask when you can expect an update, it's rude. With CM changing to lineage and nougat still being somewhat new it's just going to take some time to get smoothed out. The last two major android updates, had the same problems with memory and rebooting, It's funny to me the same things still happen

Sorry mate
Sorry for being impatientbut really liked the rom and wanted these bugs to be solved
Yes, I fell in love with XOSP when it was marshmallow... It has been so quiet here in this new thread.
edit; features and bugs links are broken in OP.. we sure did lose some features in this one... So far I've noticed the nav bar size can't be adjusted anymore? and we lost the built in software removal tool Have not noticed problems in calling or music so far, and am sitting at 582Mb memory used. will run longer.
Went to check my phone, and it was dead, the screen would not turn on, tried holding the power button and would not get a response so I hit the reset button for 5 seconds. battery was still good and at 93%, I got no logcat for this
after this today systemUI is FC every time I push the home button.. here is logcat of that..http://pastebin.com/deKHu67S Even after restarts.. I put v6 back on!

Any improvements?
The battery is not so good.. I can listen to spotify for about 2 hours but the problem I got is when I installed Viper4Android (audio enhancer). I know that I should make a bug report from a rom without any mods but LineageOS can handle Viper without any problems but on this ROM the battery drops by 1 on every 1 minute with the mod installed.
Beside of that everything is working.

Yeah
I cant find what the bugs are on the official site.
Can anyone tell if there are any major bugs? (wifi, bluetooth, calls, etc)
Thanks!
Also, long press on home button doesn't trigger any actions. And please if possible add night mode and an option to disable lock screen rotation.
Pretty Good for heavy use ? overall very smooth rom

What is XOSP?
XOSP is an after-market firmware based on CodeAuroraSources (CAF) destinated for a wide range of Android phones. The name stands for the Xperia Open Source Project and the project was initially created by @nilac for the Galaxy S+ (his old device) years ago when back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there it was rebranded to XOSP. Calin worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on his Galaxy S+, he decided to take a break from development until he got his hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then he started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
How do we release updates?
We release new updates for our Official devices each week by providing Delta updates to the users,so maintainers of the other devices can do the same as well if they want to keep up with the changes. We will make full zip releases only once a month except special cases like for example XOSPDelta is not working or something like it.
You can find all the included features right:
Here
You can find the list of current issues in the ROM right:

So, One full day with after installing this one , here's what I think
Good :
1. This ROM looks awesome , behaves awesome,Performance wise its beautiful
2. Battery backup is still moderate ( I guess it's not a porting issue but XOSP source itself has something to do with this)
3. no app force closes, no camera stuttering , camera seems smooth
4. No lag after installing extra apps like its happening with few of the other ROMS, their performance decreases after installing few apps. It's not the case with this one .
5. NO major bugs so far
Bad:
1. Very little set of apps which is kind of negligible . You can install as much as you want later.
2. Not happy with battery backup. I think i'll try some kernel tweaks or ill flash entire kernel and will see if it helps.
All these bads have nothing to do with Devs. Overall my thoughts will be like if you can compromise with battery life for smooth performance and elegant looks , good to go with XOSP.
Don't know what you did to this rom but battery life is awesome!!! Thank you!!
Thanks so much guys for your reviews and keep supporting xosp. This took so long when I was first planning to maintain ether.Everything is same as before but the Rom became more stable and optimized than ever.I personally like this rom so much.and I'm happy to see you guys are satisfied as well. I'll provide updated builds every week(Probably start from Saturday).
Whoa, so many new ROMs, I'm loving the support! I'll give this a shot tonight.
For users coming from Omnirom. How is the performance compared to omni? I'm looking to shake things up atm so if it's as smooth (Or smoother) as omni I'll give it a try and give my thoughts on it.

Hello guys,I want you to suggest me about root method what would you like to have in the build,Magisk root or SuperSU root? The current build I choose is SuperSU so if you wish to have Magisk root method let me know.If you don't know about this then know that we can choose our favourite root method.

Currently using the rom and it runs great, I would prefer Magisk root method over SuperSU

I would definitely love having Magisk instead of SuperSu Built in.. It would be so cool to be able choose between one or the other with an aroma installer..
Thanks for this @Røbin is awesome to have Xosp going again hey just out of curiosity u think u could give a shot to Ressurection Remix after words haven't seen an update happen for the Robin in a while just out curiosity and I vote magisk for root on Xosp is awesome loving the ROM thank u for the hard work full support if u need me as a tester on any Robin development

I can't maintain RR if there's already an active maintainer. And tester is always welcome.
Hello guys!Unfortunately no new build on this week because xosp merging with 7.1.2 so from next week(saturday) we can have new weekly builds. For everyone, now you can directly request for features and share your issue at Here. The link is also on OP's BUG section.
the performance for this rom is the best so far, compared to omni and dui. But the battery life is quite poor compared to them. and lack a few features that others have. Overall a good rom to use daily if you dont mind the battery life!
I'd be more then glad to test whenever u need me their is one issue I ran into is when the screen is off and ur listening to music u can't put the volume up u gotta turn the screen on for it to put the volume up is the only issue I've had so far and @Røbin I think their isn't a maintainer anymore for Resurrection Remix I tried getting in contact but I haven't seen no one for it is been a couple of months and since the nextbit community development died off because of razor their isn't any other way I can contact him only thru here but no response at all honestly idk honestly I apologise for asking for such request of RR is another one of my favorite Custom Rom
