[SOLVED][DEB/FLO] Drivers Required - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

I have been experimenting with my nexus 7 2013 and the diagnostic mode. I have had issues finding appropriate drivers for the tablet's diagnostic mode. Whenever I switch to the diagnostic mode the windows driver manager shows up the devices as in the image.
Can someone please provide me with diagnostic drivers for the nexus 7 2013.

Hey thanks... I have tried these... they work too but still the QPST functions won't happen.... they just show errors relating to connectivity.

To enter Qualcomm Diagnostics mode please try:
turn N7 off
press and hold both vol buttons
plug in PC USB
Windows device manager should display a new item with hardware ID: VID_05C6&PID_9008
If not, please quote the VID/PID you get.

I get that in my device manager. Any idea how to use it with QPST programs? I need it to work so that I can fix my IMEI number.

In 9008 mode the driver from QPST Diag package should register without an error and a new COM port will be available. Then QPST apps will work. I don't have a deb model but IMEI number must be in fsg - mmcblk0p8 partition I guess.

In what application are you trying to get it to show up on? or is it just windows?
If you are running a 'one-click' or any Odin, make sure you 'run as administrator'.
Also if using adb or some other cli tool check that you have USB Debugging enabled under Developers options

If you haven't already try another USB cable and different ports on the PC. I can't tell you how many times I've had a cable that had previously been good NOT work. I've spent hours trying to get phones, printers and other devices installed when all I had to do was grab a brand new high quality cable.
Also, I'd recommend un-installing ANY and all Samsung drivers - make sure you 'show hidden devices' in device manager! then reboot.
And then re-install them. They're here.
Then Power down phone
Wait for capacitative button lights to turn off
Simultaneously Press and Hold [Power] [VolDn] until confirmation screen appears
Press [VolUp] to enter Download mode.
Then plug it into the PC.
Good luck
Thanks for the help it deff helped me rule out a couple of things, but i noticed that on the modem section of device manager one phone was listed and the other one was not...looking at that helped me resolve the issue
here is the fix if anyone else is having the same issue
dial ##8778#
You should get a menu titled USB containing 3 options AP CP ALL
ALL has to be checked
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626638
btw is there a repository containing all the ##XXXX# codes, and what are these called?
Here's one There are others just have to search for 'em. I can't find my other bookmarks.
Thanks for the info.

I ran into this driver problem with my Sprint Galaxy Note II (SPH-L900) running Kitkat 4.4.2.
I struggle for days/weeks to figure this out until I stumble onto this link
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f453/reading-phone-info-fail-problem-please-help-me-1856788/#post10545666
that have the code to get into the USBSetting..
Go to device manager and uninstall the "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" ports if any from your computer.
On your phone's dial pad, enter *#0808# -> USB Settings menu (Picture 1)
Select AP, this will show the menu on picture 2
Reboot and reconnect to the PC. That's it..
You know it works when the PC see the Note 2 as a Samsung device and not "Qualcomm.... MSM"
Make sure you have the Samsung's drivers for the Note 2 installed on your PC (Samsung Kies should have it).
Hope this help some one!

You fixed my phone! Thank you so much. Also Sprint Galaxy Note II (SPH-L900) & Kitkat 4.4.2. The phone's USB port seemed dead. It Charged ok, but no USB connection, no notification. Needed to set phone's USB options to MTP, but couldn't access that menu.

QCN Backup andd restore.

You can use this guide here, to get the drivers and the QPST. Then maybe QPST will work, but I am not so sure.

The method above almost works, well at least for me. Unless I'm just doing something wrong. My phone shows in QPST now but it's stuck in a downloading state for some reason.

you have to find a way to put the phone in diagnostic mode. I think there is a combination of keys,
these are for OP2
http://mobilespecs.net/phone/codes/OnePlus/OnePlus_TWO_64GB.html
*#9090# Diagnostic configuration
maybe it works
or with adb
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
this one for OPO

Ok, found this...
It is from the OP3 forum, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67470602&postcount=2
And it should work
If you switch a device into a hybrid mode like "diag, adb" it will dish out a new custom product id over the usb interface, one that combines both devices into one new one.
There are however no fitting diag drivers that match that product id.
If you want diag to work properly, switch your phone into single-diag mode by executing setprop sys.usb.config diag via a rooted terminal emulator from the phone itself, rather than doing it via an adb shell from a computer.
This will result in the proper diag product id being reported to your computer, allowing you to install the right driver.
As for the driver download, a simple google search will yield you the results.
Just search for "Qualcomm Diag Driver x64".
Edit: Oh one more thing... last time I checked I couldn't find a properly signed Diag driver for 64bit systems...
You will probably have to boot your computer smashing the F8 key repeatedly, and picking "disable driver signature enforcement" from the boot menu to temporarily disable the driver signature check, allowing you to install and use the Diag driver.

It means that the proper drivers are not installed. Are you running Win 10?
If you follow that guide and use Method 2, any bricked OP3 can be revived. You may have to repeat some steps till it starts working. I restored mine with the same guide in XDA just three days back. Ensure that you have the latest ADB and other files since some of the files linked in that guide may have become outdated.
Edit: Sorry, didn't notice the subsequent posts.
