I recently updated my firmware to 4.16.401.10 and installed dragon ROM onto my m8. Since doing so I am unable to use any apps that try to access my internal storage, nor do I see any files in sdcard/0. It comes up with a message saying "cannot access the SD card". I'm not sure how to proceed here, any help would be appreciated.

hi,had the same problem and the fix that's been posted did'nt work for me,spent ages trying and various other fixes.only option was to format internal storage through twrp, but, you lose all content on your internal storage,i was unable to copy my internal to external sd card...
this only seemed to happen when flasing arhd 34,i've now switched to insert coin and have no problems, did read somwhere that twrp is at fault,so updated to the latest twrp, this made no difference when flasing arhd..
try insert coin..6.06
2013 Nexus 7 , 16gb,
running on PA 4.6 beta 6, Elemental X 2.15 aosp kernel..
only root apps is titamnium backup and root exploer.
Here is the weird thing:
In the internal storage , there is a folder named " storage", it also contains a "emulated" folder. The "emulated" folder contains " legacy" folder. I could only see these folder on my computer via MTP. Could not see those folder if using a file explorer app.
I noticed that somehow my storage is running low. I only has a few apps and twrp back up. They only take up 5GB at most. But my storage is always full at 10 Gb or 11Gb. And I start to noticed that the " storage" folder in internal storage may cause the trouble. It may be copying all my files somehow.
Then I delete the "storage" folder using MTP on my computer. All other filles seems ok, But when I reboot my nexus 7, the internal storage looks like been wipe and almost nothing is there.....
I reinstalled the rom but same thing happen : storage space got double, if delete" storage" folder, all files would be gone.
I don't know what to to. It seems like I am using a nexus 7 with only 6GB actually storage space.
I would really appreciate it if anyone knows why and what should I do...
Seems like I am the only one run into this situation
Hi everybody, please I need your help.
I installed on my Redmi 1S this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/orig-development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-t2909757
I find it a nice, good and stable ROM.
It has only one major problem:
it says that it can't save the photos to the external SD card due to the Androis KitKat limitations.
In Settings/Storage I can't find the option to set the external SD card as a default storage place.
Probably because of this the storage capacity of the phone is not shown correctly to.
Is out there a flashable zip, or anything else to resolve this problem?
Thanks.
(Sorry for my bad English)
Hi, it is on the camera. Hit camera and find the options icon, should be on the right. Find settings and goto more settings. Change the storage from "Internal Memory" to "SDCARD".
Glad to help,

Hi, thanks for your reply.
You say: "Change the storage from "Internal Memory" to "SDCARD".
Well, that's not working.
1. When trying to change storage option, a pop-up message says that's not possible due to KitKat's limitation.
2. And yes, in Setup/Storage settings there's no option to set the external SD card as a default storage place.
3. Regardless of that, the File Manager recognizes the external SD card.
In my opinion this ROM does not contain the option to select the default external SD card, so, through an update or a flashable zip or using a custom kernel it should be included in the CM 11 ROM.
So I'm asking again: is out there a custom kernel, a flashable zip or un update that can resolve this major issue of this ROM?
Thanx.
My internal storage shows no files and folders and I can't create or paste there too. Apps are getting installed on internal storage but their files are not there? If there's no sd card inserted and I try to take a photo it says 'no sd card' same with downloading files from chrome or any broser. When I try accesing the internal storage with fx file manager, it says 'access denied'. Today I wiped the whole phone and flashed stock rom.
Did you get the OS working again on your device? Since I saw your other thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/os-twrp-flashing-stock-rom-t3861740
If you have TWRP installed, you can go to the "Wipe" section and try the "Format data" button. Not the same as wiping data, this often fixes problems with accessing internal storage (storage corruption).

I did get the OS working. I did try formatting from TWRP but it didn't work. Since then I un-rooted and relocked the bootloader but as I saw your reply I decided to try again and as I unlocked the bootloader to install TWRP my storage was fixed. I've been trying to fix this for days I can't believe just unlocking the bootloader did it. Thanks anyways if I hadn't seen your reply I wouldn't have unlocked the bootloader.

How you solved please help me same problem
Hi there,
I have flashed multiple versions of Lineage, the latest being: lineage-16.0-20190923-nightly-klte-signed
I also have installed: open_gapps-arm-9.0-mini-20190924 and addonsu-16.0-arm-signed
If I go to Storage >> Device Storage - I see 5.24GB used of 16.00 GB - however, if I take a screenshot and try to save it, I get:
can't save screenshot due to limited storage space
I have no issues to see the SD Card.
When I connect the S5 to my W10 PC it reflects what I experience in the phone, please see attached picture.
If I boot in recovery mode, connect the phone to my PC, both 'Internal Shared Storage' and 'SD Card' are visible with their respective values.
Due to this, I cannot save a screenshot or even restore a backup because it keeps telling me that there is not enough space on my phone's internal storage to restore.
Is this a bug or something with the permissions???
Please help me as I have been dealing with this issue for days now and I cannot find neither much help online nor a solution.
Thank you,
Alex
Hi there,
Since nobody reacted, I am going to report this as a bug.
